#2 The tax code needs to be modified so NO WRITE-OFFS are permitted to registered Democrats.

#3 That's quite a few laptops.

Keep in mind that Congressional offices are independent. They set up their own operating procedures. They have their own budgets. They buy their own equipment. Same for consumables. Their staff are not Civil Service (don't receive Federal pay) and are hired and fired by the office.

Rather libertarian, doncha think?

#4 Last I looked, you could buy a fairly high end laptop for $1500. Now, if you're in the market for a high end data base server with eight CPUs, 256 GB of RAM, maybe 1024 GB of solid state disk storage and a tape library for backup, you could be in the $120,000 range. But I don't see the likes of Imran Awan being able to administer that kind of technology. So that leaves a helluva lotta room for graft.

#5 They were never going to get the money back so it was simpler to "write it off the books". After all, it is Other Peoples Money™, right, Right?

#6 Looks like Yvette Clarke (D-Corrupt) and her Chief of Staff ("at the time") need to compensate the taxpayers

#7 I can't decide if the Awan's were poorly trained intelligence operatives, or small time crooks who got lucky.
