China has been using predatory lending and slave labour to gain control of trade and shipping depots amd raw material resources all over the world — but even before Covid the world was starting to take notice and repudiate their efforts. After Covid the process has accelerated.

It isn’t a new process, this locking in of developing nations to debt servitude for financial and resource farming — look up the relations between England and Persia since the latter part of the 16th century — but China’s targets are quicker to realize the plan than in earlier generations.

#12 Is it common to deny a ship entry to a port? I remember during the cold war US ships would stop by in Warsaw Pact ports from time to time. Did this require lots of diplomatic manuevering in order to pull off?
