#3 No. Assuit is in Upper Egypt. However, if I were to make a second guess it would have been Alexandria. Many of the most powerful Muslim Brothers of recent vintage are from there. So too are the so-called Islamist "nuns" who frequent the University.

#4 #2 FYI. The two Muslim Brother powerhouses in Alexandria in the 1990s were Wagdy Ghoneim and Kahalid Daud. Both of them had long careers in the Muslim Brotherhood. Wagdy Abd El Hamied Mohamed Ghoneim, normally shortened to Wagdy Ghoneim (8 February 1951-?) appeared as imam at the Islamic Institute of Orange County, California. During his time in the USA he was a Hamas fundraiser. In January 2005, Ghoneim left the US for Qatar following his arrest for violating his immigration status. In Qatar he was an associate of Ikhwan powerhouse Qaradawi.
