#1  “Man is sexually compartmentalized . . . he is condemned to a perpetual pattern of linearity, focus, aim, directedness.”

I don't know what to do with that.

#2 Skid, we’re like country railway lines- get where you are going in a hurry, but just that one place; women are the city switch yards- go in all directions, slowly?

#3 She had great fun doing her literature PhD on the Song of Songs, so she sees s3xual imagery everywhere. ;-)

#4 For me it was another celebration of men, American Men, hard men, doing the hard things that made the Good Times happen. The West, and its taming, with all the tribulations, is the quintessential 19th century American character on display, with all its warts and flaws. It is that character that the left hates so deeply, because their patrons in China and the WEF fear it, even its residual presence in modern American culture fly-over states. Howard Hawks and John Ford gave us that view, and I thank God for the reminder of what was the core of early American greatness, and who they were.

#5 Believe it or not, in Junior High we had a singing class once a week. There sticks in my mind, "Come along boys, and listen to my tale, as I tell you my troubles on the Old Chisum Trail." Naturally, I believe Red River was the best Western ever produced. The unforgettable line: Told that there were thousands of cattle on the way to the stockyards, the happy purchasor (Harry Carey Sr., as I recall) says, "Send em through town."
