#2 State Dept is as broken as any now days. If it takes an American 4 months to get a passport, imagine how many years it would take if you were from another country trying to get a visa..

#5 This is a concern to me. My wife and I are planning a cruise to Hawaii in June. On the return trip, the ship makes a stop in Mexico.
Unfortunately, her passport is expired. We sent in the renewal request in February, paying extra for "expedited" service. They cashed the check March 7. I really hope it arrives in time, or we will have wasted $3,000.

#6 Also, the main reason I am going is to see the USS Arizona memorial.
On the other hand, I haven't been to sea since 1974, so the voyage should be interesting.
