#1 a lot of complex issues here

Since there is no pure red heifer, every Jew in the entire world who has been near a dead body is ritually impure and must not be part of a ritual sacrifice. Priests are probably exempted from this because they are doing communal work.

Also, since we don't know the actual details of where the temple was, it is pretty iffy to do the sacrifice since it might be where, for example, the offal was placed. This also has a work around under some theories.

#2 Christians, on the other hand, believe the final sacrificial lamb was Jesus Christ and therefore there is no going back to animal sacrifices since the crucifixion.
