#1 Just got back from a week in and around Jerusalem a couple of hours ago. We fortunately seem to have missed all the festivities- in fact we never saw serious tension where we were (good guide, I guess.)

#3 What Besoeker said. My take, though, is that overall violence is fairly well contained, unlike the two intifadas — all those nightly roundups of miscreants who then sit for months in prison being interrogated to get new lists of future arrestees.
