The judiciary has embraced modern psychology as a excuse not to perform their responsibilities to carry out the 'justice' they demanded be theirs and not the long historical practice of vendetta. No one is held responsible if the evaluation is wrong or the subject has relapses. Just suck it up people. ~~Sheep~~ Plebs are expendable. The 'insane' defense existed before modern psychology. Jurors/people could see the accused as not stable and acted accordingly.
