#2 Face it. If the congregations (or the general public) were in favor of this, there would be no need to to have the "leaders" come out for it. It would just happen.

#3 Sorry, but if you are a true-blue Catholic, you MUST believe that the Pope is the visible head of the church on earth; and you MUST believe that the magisterium (teaching authority) of the church is vested in him.

If not, then you are a Protestant.
