Avian flu confirmed in California, 250,000 birds euthanized amid spread concerns
[FoxNews] Animal disease experts confirmed that 250,000 birds were euthanized this week after testing positive for the avian flu at two farms in the Bay Area.

According to health officials, the decision came as concerns were raised over the spread of the virus when two farms in Sonoma County reported positive avian flu tests among their birds.

The positive cases were confirmed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

The new cases of avian flu come just weeks after California state wildlife agencies announced that a new vaccine, while still in the early stages of testing, has helped protect them from bird flu so far. The vaccine has yet to receive a formal seal of approval.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this strain is considered to be a low risk to human health, but is highly contagious and often fatal disease in birds.

#7 Not Just Birds

A lot of odd strain Flu and Bacterial Pneumonia cases starting to pop up around the USA.

Have had reports from Family members in Colorado Springs, Atlanta and Augusta of an odd increase in Bacterial Pneumonia cases causing extended wait and treatment times and availability certain medications'.

The Family in Augusta, GA. told us a relative who had open-heart surgery last Wed. Spent 2 days in ICU and was sent home with IV's, drainage tubes and all still in.

They were told it was due to lack of beds because of the high number of Lung related infection cases.

#8 Skidmark, #6 ^
My son has about 20 chickens and 8 or so large ducks.

He quickly found avoiding Commercial feeds and using local grown feeds. That his Home raised Chickens, Ducks and the laid eggs still taste like they use to.
