Anti-Taliban Resistance Claims Fresh Attacks on Taliban Positions in Panjshir and Herat
While the Taliban continue to speak about suppressing opposition groups across Afghanistan, anti-Taliban resistance movements have reported carrying out fresh attacks in the provinces of Panjshir and Herat.
According to statements released by the Green Trend movement and the National Resistance Front (NRF),
…founded by Ahmad Massoud, 37, only son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the National Hero of Afghanistan and leader of the anti-Taliban v.1 Northern Alliance, following the fall of Kabul in 2021. They insist they are a broad-based, liberal democratic project that goes well beyond the Tajiks of Panjshir Province, though the Tajiks are the core of the thing. The NRF claims 10,000 fighters and is said to be supported by Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Iran. Key local ally Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), led by former Afghan Army head General Yasin Zia, is the loyal remnant of Afghanistan’s military, originally based out of Parwan Province…
their fighters targeted Taliban positions in separate operations. The groups claim the attacks resulted in casualties among Taliban forces, although independent verification remains limited.

Sustained Air Interdiction Campaign Deepens Fear Within ISWAP Ranks Across Sambisa, Tumbuns
By Zagazola Makama
The ongoing precision air interdiction campaign by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI is increasingly degrading not only the operational capabilities of ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East theatre, but also their psychological resilience, as fresh intelligence indicates growing panic, fear and uncertainty among fighters hiding within the Sambisa Forest and adjoining enclaves.
Reliable intelligence information obtained by Zagazola Makama on May 26 at approximately 0638 hours revealed clear signs of anxiety among ISWAP elements following repeated bombardments by Nigerian military aircraft targeting terrorist hideouts, logistics bases and assembly areas across the Sambisa axis and Lake Chad fringes.
Sources said that an ISWAP fighter identified as Abu Ibrahim, believed to be operating around Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, communicated with an associate suspected to be within the Pulka axis of Sambisa Forest in Bama LGA.
During the conversation, Abu Ibrahim reportedly informed his associate that military aircraft had conducted strikes on multiple locations across the forest and offered prayers for the safety and survival of fighters within the affected areas.
The associate confirmed that the bombardments were concentrated towards the southern flank of Sambisa Forest, particularly around the Gwoza axis, and acknowledged that the strikes had generated widespread fear and apprehension among terrorist fighters.

A prominent commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) was killed after suspected ISWAP terrorists detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) targeting his vehicle near Baga in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno.
Security sources said the incident occurred along a route near the Lake Chad axis, where the commander was travelling when the explosive device went off.
The sources disclosed that the deceased commander was known for his active support to ongoing counterinsurgency operations against terrorists in the North-East.
IRGC or Iran-supported Shiite militia shooting off from Iraq?
[IsraelTimes] The United Nations Security Council condemns the attack on Barakah nuclear plant in the United Arab Emirates, according to a statement, adding that the attack constituted a violation of international law.
The council doesn’t attribute blame for the attack.
The UAE says last week that six drones were launched against it from Iraq, including one that caused a fire at the nuclear power plant in the Gulf state. Iraq is home to powerful Iranian-backed militia groups which have claimed attacks against “enemy bases in Iraq and the region” during the US-Israeli war on Iran.

If it was not the IRGC. The point is that both Iran and Iraqi Shiite militias are shooting stuff at the UAE, and nobody has bothered to claim this one.
[IsraelTimes] An eighth person has been arrested in connection with the deadly terror attack on a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur, police say.
Greater Manchester Police say the 49-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of failing to disclose information regarding terrorist activity.
Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, were killed and three people were seriously wounded in the attack that took place on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
The work of ISIS-pledged Syrian-Brit colonist Jihad al-Shamie, 35, he of the three wives and an uncertain number of children. He rammed, then stabbed congregants outside the synagogue while under investigation for rape — and itlooks like he wasn’t a lone wolf after all. His father is a trauma surgeon who approved of Hamas activities of 10/7/2023, which didn’t concern the National Health Service in the least.
“The suspected offense relates directly to the terrorist attack that took place at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in October. [IsraelTimes] Salah Hamouri, whose Jerusalem residency was revoked over PFLP ties, allegedly recruited five East Jerusalemites to ‘promote militant terror activity,’ say Shin Bet, police
Law enforcement uncovered a terror network in East Jerusalem allegedly operated from overseas by the French-Paleostinian lawyer Salah Hamouri, the Shin Bet and Israel Police said Tuesday.
Hamouri, whose Jerusalem residency was revoked by the government in 2022 over his ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine (PFLP) terror group, allegedly recruited five Paleostinians from the city to "promote holy warrior terror activity within Israel," the joint statement read.
Hamouri was sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a PFLP-linked plot to assassinate former Sephardi chief rabbi Ovadia Yosef in 2005, but was released early in a 2011 hostage-prisoner swap with Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... Israel maintained that even after his release, Hamouri remained active in the group.
"Hamouri exploits his origins and ties to Israeli territory to recruit local terror operatives, while simultaneously conducting open activity related to the Paleostinian issue," said the Shin Bet and police.
"The terror activity he advances is conducted in a covert manner in parallel, under the guise of legitimate activism."
Hamouri, who currently resides in La Belle France, allegedly met with members of the cell in various locations throughout Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... from 2024 to 2025 and equipped them with encrypted mobile phones with the aim of carrying out attacks in Israel.
The five suspects in the alleged network were arrested in November and December last year, the Shin Bet and police said.
The agencies said that two of the five suspects arrested in the case, brothers Yazid and Said Dadu, have already been charged with active membership in a terrorist organization, conspiracy to commit a crime and conspiracy to commit a terrorist act.
Said Dadu, 33, was indicted in the Jerusalem District Court in January this year, according an i24 News report from the time. According to the outlet, the man officially joined the PFLP in 2017.
Dadu was accused of meeting several times with the other suspects in 2024, in which the group allegedly formulated plans to raise funds and acquire weapons to carry out an attack on Israeli security forces, the outlet said.
[IsraelTimes] Israel on Tuesday evening carried out a strike in the Gaza Strip targeting new Hamas military chief Mohammed Odeh, 11 days after killing his predecessor.
Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... ’s civil defense agency, which operates as a rescue service under Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... , reported at least three people were killed and 20 maimed in the strike in the Rimal neighborhood of western Gaza City.
There was no immediate comment from Hamas or official confirmation from Israel that Odeh was dead. Hebrew media outlets cited initial assessments indicating the strike was successful, with an Israeli source telling the Kan public broadcaster that Odeh was killed.
A joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said Odeh was head of Hamas intelligence during the October 7, 2023, attacks, and last week was appointed to succeed Izz al-Din al-Haddad as the terror group’s leader in the Gaza Strip and chief of its military wing.
Al-Haddad was killed in a similar strike in Gaza City on May 15.
"Odeh was responsible for the murder, abduction and injury of many Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers," said Netanyahu and Katz.
According to the Saudi A-Sharq al-Awsat outlet, Odeh was close to al-Haddad and worked with him to "renew the organizational structure" of Hamas following the liquidation of its former leaders Muhammad Deif and Muhammad Sinwar during the war sparked by the October 7 invasion of southern Israel.
Citing a source familiar with the details, the report said Odeh was initially approached to lead the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades following Sinwar’s liquidation in May 2025, but declined. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... the two other sources said they could not confirm that it was the case. Sinwar’s brother Yahya was the head of Hamas before being killed by the IDF in May 2024.
The report added that Odeh was tasked with gathering intelligence on IDF bases near the Gaza border and on weak points in the military’s Gaza Division in the run-up to October 7.
Odeh, estimated to be in his late 40s to early 50s, grew up in Gaza and was reported to have been involved with Hamas his whole life. In the past, he was involved with the group’s security unit that sought out Israeli spies.
Israel previously targeted Odeh several times, including a strike on his father’s house in Gaza in 2025 killed his eldest son, Amr.
"We will continue to pursue everyone who took part in the October 7 massacre," said Netanyahu and Katz. "Sooner or later, Israel will reach them all."
Despite the ceasefire that has been in place in Gaza since October, Israel has kept up its campaign against the perpetrators of October 7, with a report last week in the Wall Street Journal saying it has created a list of all Paleostinians who took part in the attack and is working to kill or arrest each one.
According to the report, the list includes all Gazooks who were identified as having crossed the border on October 7, as well as all Hamas leaders involved in orchestrating the massacre, during which some 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage, mostly civilians, in the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
Along with al-Haddad and Odeh, the IDF announced last week it killed a Hamas operative who invaded Israel on October 7, without naming him.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed Tuesday evening that the Israel Defense Forces carried out a strike in Gaza Strip targeting Mohammed Odeh, the new leader of the military wing of Hamas.
An Israeli security source stated about two hours after the strike that Israel had received confirmation that Odeh was successfully eliminated.
Earlier, Arab sources reported powerful explosions in western Gaza City as a result of what was described as an IDF “fire belt" operation in the area. According to some reports, Israeli forces carried out three strikes near the Shaafout restaurant located along Salah al-Din Road in Gaza.
According to a joint statement from Netanyahu’s and Katz’s offices, the Israeli military and intelligence services, stating: “Congratulations to the IDF and the Shin Bet for their ongoing efforts to eliminate our enemies. We will continue to pursue everyone who took part in the October 7 massacre. Sooner or later, Israel will reach them all."
According to the military, several buildings in Gaza City used as hideouts by Odeh were targeted following months of intelligence tracking of his movements and those of his aides.
A nearby apartment belonging to another Hamas terrorist involved in the October 7 attack was also struck.
Odeh had become head of Hamas’s military wing last week, following the killing of Izz al-Din Haddad, and previously served as head of the terror group’s intelligence.
The IDF says Odeh played a central role in planning and coordinating Hamas’s October 7 onslaught and later directed attacks and intelligence operations against troops throughout the war.
The security agencies describe Odeh as one of the last remaining senior Hamas military commanders involved in orchestrating the October 7 massacre, saying his killing deals a “significant blow” to the group’s efforts to rebuild.

JUST IN: The IDF says it dismantled nearly 7 miles of underground Hamas tunnel routes in northern Gaza.
The military released a 3D illustration mapping out the tunnel network, showing the scale of what troops say was uncovered during a major engineering operation.
Hundreds of above-ground terrorist infrastructure sites were also dismantled, according to the IDF.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says troops have completed a major engineering operation in the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza, during which forces located and destroyed some 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) of tunnel routes used by Hamas.
According to the military, forces from the 252nd Division and the Combat Engineering Corps’ elite Yahalom unit operated for months on the Israeli-controlled side of the Yellow Line, carrying out hundreds of drillings to uncover and demolish underground infrastructure, alongside hundreds of above-ground terror sites.
The IDF says an additional three kilometers of tunnels had been destroyed in previous fighting in the area throughout the war.
The military describes Beit Hanoun as one of the war’s most significant and complex combat zones, and says the area had long served as a major Hamas stronghold, with tunnel infrastructure embedded beneath homes, public buildings and roads.
[IsraelTimes] Judiciary claims that Gholamreza Khani Shakarab was tasked with recruiting operatives in country, was part of Israeli plot to assassinate rabbi and blame Iranians
Iranian authorities on Tuesday executed a man after convicting him of cooperation with and espionage for Israel’s Mosssd ...sees all, knows all, gets 'em all in the end... spy agency, the judiciary said.
"Gholamreza Khani Shakarab was executed on charges of intelligence cooperation and espionage in favor of the Zionist regime," the judiciary’s Mizan Online website reported, adding that his sentence had been upheld by the Supreme Court.
The hanging was the latest in a string of executions by the Islamic Theocratic Republic for security-related cases following the outbreak of war with Israel and the United States on February 28.
Mizan described Shekarab as "one of the operational ringleaders of Mossad abroad... who was seeking to recruit individuals inside the country" for "anti-security actions."
"Ultimately, in a complex operation and using intelligence deception tactics, the accused was guided into the country and arrested," it said, adding that he was detained by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps intelligence forces.
The report also claimed Shekarab had been tasked by Mossad "to travel to one of the regional countries with the aim of identifying and preparing the groundwork for the liquidation of a Jewish rabbi... to accuse Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... of anti-Jewish actions."
It was not immediately clear when Shekarab was arrested or sentenced.
"Finally, after reviewing the case... and after legal proceedings and confirmation of the sentence in the Supreme Court, the accused was executed by hanging this morning," the report added.
On Monday, Iran executed a man after convicting him of carrying out armed attacks during the nationwide anti-government protests that peaked in January.
The day before, Iran hanged Mojtaba Kian over espionage, in the first reported execution linked to spying offences during Iran’s war with the United States and Israel.
Israel and the US launched the war in a bid to destabilize the regime and destroy its nuclear and missile programs, with a shaky ceasefire in place since April 8.
Since the start of the conflict, Iran has stepped up executions for allegedly spying or collaborating with Israel and the US, although before Sunday, all those hanged were sentenced for offenses carried out before the war.
Iran carries out the second-highest number of executions in the world after China, according to rights groups including Amnesty International.
The Norway-based group Iran Human Rights says the Islamic Theocratic Republic executed at least 1,500 people last year.
Overnight, the IDF struck more than 100 Hezbollah infrastructure sites and terrorists in the Beqaa Valley and across southern Lebanon.
In several strikes in the Beqaa Valley, terrorist infrastructure sites were struck, including a Hezbollah weapons storage facility.
In southern Lebanon, more than 90 weapons storage facilities, command centers, observation posts, and infrastructure sites used by Hezbollah terrorists to advance attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians were struck.
In footage from one of the strikes overnight in the area of Mashghara can be seen several strikes conducted within seconds against Hezbollah infrastructure sites where terrorists activity was identified, during the strike the terrorists were eliminated.
Israel's airstrikes kill 31 in Lebanon Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Thirty-one people were killed and 40 others were wounded in a series of Israeli strikes in Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported on May 27.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israeli attacks claimed the lives of 31 people, including women and children. Forty people were injured in strikes on Lebanese towns and villages.
In Burj al-Shamali, 14 people were killed, including children, and another 16 were injured. In Qutariyat al-Ruz, Israeli strikes killed five people and wounded six, including children. In Habbush, four people were killed and 10 wounded. There were also fatalities and injuries in Maaraq and Selaa.
Earlier, a Lebanese military source reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes on 47 settlements in southern and eastern Lebanon, with individual settlements targeted in several series of strikes throughout the day. Another 25 settlements located near the Lebanese-Israeli border were subjected to intense artillery shelling. In 11 Lebanese settlements, attack drones attacked cars and other vehicles.
The view from Israel. Note that last bit about Elbit:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday that Israel is "intensifying operations" in Leb ...The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. Only one of those statements is an exaggeration.... by taking strategic positions and reinforcing the security buffer zone as the IDF pushed past the lines it held as it seeks to counter the recent surge in drone attacks by Hezbollah.
The announcement, which the premier made during a full security cabinet session Tuesday evening, came as the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that it has expanded ground operations beyond the designated security zone in parts of southern Lebanon in recent days, in an effort to push Hezbollah operatives farther north and reduce the threat of explosive drone attacks on northern Israeli communities.
It also came as the Israeli Air Force escalated its fire against Hezbollah, carrying out over 100 strikes in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon and across the country’s south overnight and throughout Tuesday.
"We are intensifying our operations in Lebanon. The IDF is operating with significant forces on the ground and taking control of strategically dominant positions. We are reinforcing the security buffer zone in order to protect the communities of northern Israel," Netanyahu said in a video released by his office.
"At the same time, we are carrying out a major national effort to advance creative and innovative solutions against explosive drones," he added, after meeting with Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv.
A day earlier, Netanyahu ordered the IDF to "intensify blows" against the Iran-backed group amid incessant Hezbollah attacks despite the US-brokered ceasefire that is still officially in place.
Channel 12 reported that Zamir had been pressing forcefully to be allowed to take the fight to Hezbollah. Over the past two days, Katz had pushed his message with Netanyahu, who eventually gave the go-ahead.
Israel had been exercising restraint amid pressure from the US, which is trying to finalize a deal with Iran.
Washington approved Israeli plans to expand fighting against Hezbollah in the coming days, but warned Jerusalem against striking in Beirut amid concerns of hurting US talks with Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... on a deal, multiple Hebrew outlets reported Tuesday evening, citing Israeli officials.
US Ambassador Mike Huckabee updated the White House on Monday night on Israel’s intention to expand operations in Lebanon, and the American message in turn was "not to bring down buildings in Beirut," according to a Channel 12 report.
A senior Israeli official told the network that "There is approval for targeted liquidations in Beirut if an operational opportunity presents itself."
Senior Israeli officials similarly acknowledged to Channel 13: "We have freedom of action in southern Lebanon — less so in Beirut. We do not want to be perceived as undermining President Donald Trump ...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania... ’s agreement with Iran."
However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves... an Israeli security official was cited by the Kan public broadcaster as saying that if operation plans remain limited to southern Lebanon, the IDF "will hurt Hezbollah — but it will not stop the explosive drones" attacks that were the cause for the planned intensification of fighting.
Kan cited a senior IDF official expressing frustration with the apparent restrictions from Washington, saying: "We need to do much more. Israeli illusory sovereignty is being violated every day. The IDF is exercising significant restraint because we are operating under understandings with the United States and the Lebanese government. We cannot accept the current reality without the ability to respond."
BEYOND THE LITANI
Regarding the ground advance, IDF officials quoted in Hebrew media said the army has been carrying out "targeted intelligence-based raids" both beyond the forward defensive line and north of the Litani River, focusing on areas where Hezbollah maintains infrastructure and operational footholds.
Troops reportedly clashed with Hezbollah operatives north of the Litani on Tuesday, as the terror group said it targeted Israeli forces advancing toward the southern Lebanese town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya with explosive drones, rockets and artillery.
It also said it launched several rocket, artillery and exploding drone attacks on Israeli troops and vehicles mobilizing along the river toward the Nabatieh village of Yohmor al-Shaqif.
Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV reported battles along the northern bank of the Litani.
Hezbollah has fired thousands of drones and rockets at Israel in recent weeks, escalating its attacks in an apparent bid to derail talks between Jerusalem and Beirut, several rounds of which have been held in Washington.
The group fired several more drones at Israel on Tuesday, with sirens sounding in northern communities along the border with Lebanon. No injuries were reported in the strikes, with the IDF saying the UAVs were all either intercepted or lost contact with surveillance systems, possibly after leaving the monitored areas, or falling.
An IDF official admitted to Channel 12 on Monday that Israel has found itself "defenseless" against the drone threat posed by Hezbollah, with the terror group increasingly deploying first-person view drones guided by fiber-optic cables, which are largely immune to electronic jamming. Israel has resorted to makeshift methods to defend against the surge in drone use, the official added.
In the face of the growing threat, the military believes distancing Hezbollah forces from the border could help reduce the possibility of northern communities being targeted.
IDF STEPS UP STRIKES; 12 SAID KILLED IN ONE BEQAA VALLEY STRIKE Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo drew a bead on his old enemy and squeezed the trigger... Israel’s military said it struck more than 100 Hezbollah sites across southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley area overnight, and dozens more on Tuesday, saying it targeted storage facilities, command centers and observation points used to attack Israeli troops and residents in northern Israel.
In one strike in the Mashghara area of the Beqaa Valley, the military said it targeted infrastructure where Hezbollah operatives had been identified, killing them in a series of strikes carried out within seconds of one another.
The strike killed 12 people, including several members of a family, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said.
In a statement, the Lebanese health ministry said the corpse count included "two girls and a woman," adding that there were "15 maimed, including a child."
Rescuers were still clearing the rubble in the eastern town, the ministry added.
Early Tuesday afternoon, the army issued an evacuation warning for the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh. Residents of the city were instructed to evacuate north of the nearby Zahrani River.
Hours later, the army also called on the evacuation of residents of Sidon, Burj Qalawiya, Jibshit, al-Qusaibah, Froun, Aabra, Deir Kifa, Kafr Sir, Srifa, al-Ghandouriyah, an-Naffakhiyah, Qaaqaait al-Jisr and Adshit al-Shaqif.
"In light of the Hezbollah terror organization’s violations of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF is forced to act against it with force and does not intend to harm you," warned army front man Col. Avichay Adraee.
After the warnings, the IDF said it killed several Hezbollah terror operatives and destroyed rocket launch sites belonging to the terror group, as it continued striking Hezbollah infrastructure across Lebanon, publishing footage of strikes targeting Hezbollah sites.
An AFP correspondent in Nabatieh reported Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s and saw plumes of smoke rising from various locations within it.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) also reported several Israeli strikes across the south and east.
Beirut, the Lebanese capital, has been spared from strikes since the start of the ceasefire, but Israel’s latest moves have caused fear.
"By just saying a few words on TV, [Netanyahu] causes everyone to panic and flee their homes," said Tony Aboud in Beirut’s bustling Hamra district of the Israeli premier’s Monday night announcement. "I don’t know what’s going to happen and how long we can live like this."
ELBIT ANNOUNCES WORK ON LASERS TO COMBAT HEZBOLLAH DRONES Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo drew a bead on his old enemy and squeezed the trigger... Israel’s largest defense contractor, Elbit Systems, announced Tuesday that it is developing hardware to combat Hezbollah’s explosive drones, including through the potential use of laser-based defense systems.
In an interview with Rooters, Elbit CEO Bezhalel Machlis said the defense giant is actively working with the Defense Ministry to develop a quick solution to the drone challenge, which Israel has been struggling to fight.
He said that could involve an "energy weapon solution," adding that the company is "very active in energy weapons such as lasers."
"There are other means, which are also relevant to this threat. We are heavily involved in the development of a solution [to] this challenge" of explosive drones, Machlis said after Elbit reported big gains in first-quarter revenue and profit. Its Nasdaq-listed shares rose 8 percent in morning trade.
Machlis said Elbit is seeing rising demand in Europe, the US and the Asia-Pacific, as well as from the United Arab Emirates, which has also come under drone fire from Iran and its proxy forces.
"We are active in this region," Machlis said of Elbit’s Middle East business. "It is fast-growing."

Syria’s transitional government has located remnants of the clandestine chemical weapons program operated under Former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, including raw materials and munitions similar to those used to carry out deadly gas attacks, killing over a thousand and injuring tens of thousands, during the Syria Civil War, according to Reuters.
Syrian teams, working with inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), have located more than 70 rockets and aerial bombs, as well as raw ingredients for the production of the nerve agent Sarin.
Syrian authorities have also taken into custody 18 suspects for alleged involvement in Assad’s chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented... program, including high-level military, political and technical officials, Mohamad Katoub, Syria’s permanent representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, said in an interview.
The names of the suspects were not made public because the investigation was ongoing, he said, adding that several had served as major generals under the Assad regime. At least four were on European, UK or US sanctions lists, he said.
Syria, emerging from its 14-year civil war as an ally of the West, has vowed to work with the international community to rid itself of legacy weapons of mass destruction that pose a proliferation risk.
The OPCW said in a report on Tuesday that its team in Syria had visited several high-priority undeclared locations in the northern coastal and central areas with Syrian authorities. The mission was ongoing, it said, but "dozens of undeclared chemical munitions such as aerial bombs and rockets, as well as separately found chemicals and related equipment" had been discovered.
Syrian teams, working for months with OPCW inspectors, located more than 70 rockets and aerial bombs, as well as raw ingredients for the production of sarin, a nerve agent used by Assad’s forces in attacks that killed more than 1,300 people in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta in August 2013 and al-Lataminah in March 2017, Katoub said.
Chemical weapon mixing and storage equipment and hexamine, a stabilization agent known to have been used by Assad’s forces in sarin production, were also found during searches at three locations.
"Despite the secrecy, the danger, and the immense security challenges ... today we delivered for the Syrian people and for the world," Katoub said. "It is the first time such munitions could be recovered before they were used in crimes against the Syrian people."
He said securing and storing the found materials contributes to national and global security.
Joint investigations by the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... and the global chemical weapons watchdog in The Hague had previously found that sarin, as well as chlorine and sulfur mustard gas, were used repeatedly by the Assad regime. The OPCW, which oversees the international ban on toxic munitions, has said as many as 100 sites across Syria need to be inspected.
Syria signed the Chemical Weapons Convention in 2013 and declared a 1,300-ton stockpile, but prohibited use continued. The size of the remaining program and stockpile has remained unclear.
In March, Syria launched a plan supported by Washington to rid the Middle Eastern country of its legacy chemical weapons.

BREAKING: The IRGC Aerospace Force released footage showing the shootdown of a U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper armed drone which had reportedly been involved in supporting yesterday’s U.S. Navy airstrikes against IRGC Navy targets in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian sources, the drone had been operating from Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE and was providing ISR and targeting support for U.S. naval operations in the region. The footage appears to show the drone being successfully intercepted and destroyed over or near Qeshm Island.
The MQ-9A was most likely brought down by the IRGC’s Majid AD-08 short-range air defense system, an infrared-guided SHORAD platform specifically designed to engage drones, cruise missiles, and other low-flying aerial targets.

I've lost track - is that 30 or 31 Reapers shot down so far?
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
