Afghanistan
ISIS execute three alleged Taliban fighters in Nangarhar
The loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group have executed at least three men in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The terror group claimed that the men were arrested during an operation by the fighters of the group and they belong to Taliban group.

The group initially released the pictures of the men in social media and later issued more pictures which purportedly shows the execution of the men.

The three men are shown in orange jump suits as they are forced to kneel in the ground while a child is executing them with a pistol.

The group also released several other pictures which purportedly shows coordinated attacks on several outposts of the Taliban group in Nangarhar province.

This comes as the loyalists of the terror group released several pictures which purportedly showed the execution of at least three individuals allegedly for having links with the Taliban group.

In the meantime, the loyalists of the terror group launched a major attack on police check posts in Kot district late last month.

The latest major attack by ISIS loyalists in Kot district comes as the terror group received major blows during the recent months as a result of the Afghan and US forces routine operations.

The US forces stepped up airstrikes against the ISIS loyalists earlier this year after they were granted more authorities by President Barack Obama.

The increased raids against ISIS loyalists followed amid concerns that they are attempting to expand foothold in the country besides attempting to consolidate operations with the terror group in Iraq and Syria.

Taliban’s Eid attack plot foiled in Balkh, bomb making factory busted
A bomb making factory of the Taliban group was busted during an operation in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan, the Afghan intelligence said Sunday.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said the factory was discovered in Robat village located in Chemtal district.

According to a statement by NDS, two experts working in the factory to manufacture Improvised Explosive Device (IED) were also detained during the operation.

The statement further added that the two suspects have been identified as Mehrabuddin son of Noor Mohammad and Mohammad Ewaz Akbari son of Abdul Salam.

NDS also added that the intelligence operatives seized 12 kgs of TNT explosives, 6 Nokia mobile phone sets, some explosives, 2 hand grenades, 20 explosives capsules, 1 remote control, and other types of equipment used to manufacture IEDs.

According to NDS, the Taliban militants were looking to use the weapons and explosives to plan and coordinate attacks during the Eid days in Balkh province.

NDS said the Taliban militants were looking to target the mosques during the Eid days as hundreds of people would gather for Eid prayers.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.

Afghan forces recapture security posts in Wardak province
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) have recaptured a number of the security posts in Jalrez district of central Wardak province.

According to the local security officials, the security posts were captured during two days of ongoing operations which were lunched following a coordinated Taliban attack.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal said the security posts were captured by the Taliban militants two days ago and an operation was launched to clear the area from the militants’ presence.

He said at least security personnel sustained injuries during the operations and around 15 Taliban insurgents were killed or wounded.

The Taliban militants launched the coordinated attack on security posts in Jalrez district late on Friday night and managed to capture several security posts.

The local officials had earlier warned that the district would fall to Taliban control if additional forces were not deployed to repulse the Taliban attack.

Taliban militants are actively operating in a number of the remote districts of Wardak province and often carry out insurgency activities.

The militants are also occasionally targeting the security forces and passenger buses and vehicles on the highway connecting Kabul with the southern and southeastern provinces.

Over 60 militants killed in Badakhshan and Ghazni airstrikes
Over 60 Taliban insurgents were killed or wounded in a series of airstrikes in Arghistan district located in northeastern Badakhshan province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said at least 50 militants were killed and 12 others were seriously wounded in the raids.

MoD further added that 12 militants were killed and 2 others were wounded in a separate airstrike carried out in Aband district of southeastern Ghazni province.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.

Both Badakhshan and Ghazni provinces are among the relatively volatile provinces where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in a number of its remote districts.

The increased raids by the Afghan forces comes as the Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the group announced its spring offensive earlier in April.

The Taliban militants have since then staged numerous coordinated and suicide attacks across the country including capital Kabul as the group’s insurgency has entered to its 15th year.

In the meantime, the Afghan forces launched a counter terrorism operation in response to the annual spring offensive of the Taliban with the security officials claiming that the major attacks as part of Taliban spring offensive have been repulsed and the group has sustained major losses.

Taliban’s shadow governor for Kabul killed in airstrike
A senior Taliban leader was killed in an airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan along with at least 15 other militants.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the airstrike was carried out by the Afghan Air Force in Hesarak district.

MoD further added that Mawlavi Mumtaz Mia Khel the group’s shadow governor for Kabul was killed along with his 15 fighters in the raid.
Another senior Taliban commander identified as Mullah Tor was also among those killed and a vehicle belonging to the group was confiscated by the Afghan forces.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

Nangarhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants are actively operating in a number of its districts and often carry out insurgency activities.

The airstrike in Hesarak comes as the Taliban militants launched a coordinated attack on several security out posts in this district few days earlier.

The officials had warned that the district is the brink of collapse if additional forces are not deployed to repulse the Taliban attack.

Jadhran threatens revenge on LNA
Tripoli, 3 July 2016:

The head of central region Petroleum Facilities Guards (PFG), Ibrahim Jadhran, has threatened reprisals against the Libyan National Army (LNA).

In a short but strident video published yesterday on the Facebook page of PFG media spokesman Ali Al-Hassi, Jadhran is seen in front of a number of armed vehicles making the threat but also attempting to justify the decision to pull the PFG out of Ajdabiya and the surrounding area. He claimed that, following the LNA’s airstrike on one of the PFG camps outside the town a fortnight ago, the forces had withdrawn for the sake of town.

Hassi had earlier made a similar statement about pulling out for to ensure the safety of Ajdabiya residents.

Forces linked to LNA forces now appear to be in control of most security locations in and around Ajdabiya. While it is not clear where the llcal PFG have gone, one resident who had been involved with Jadhran told the Libya Herald that they were not far away.

2 security officers die in car bomb attack in Benghazi
Benghazi, 3 July 2016:

Two security officers died in a car bomb explosion shortly after midnight last night in Benghazi’s Fuwayhat district, and which is believed to have been set off by members of the so-called Islamic State (IS/Daesh). However, the man believed to be the terrorists’ target, Counter Crime Agency commander Hamada Ramli, escaped with relatively minor injuries. He was wounded in his left arm and leg.

The explosion happened as his car was driving down Pepsi Street, busy at the time with late night Ramadan shoppers, promenaders and coffee shop devotees. As it passed a parked vehicle, the latter blew up in what was evidently a remote controlled explosion.

The two officers travelling with Ramli died instantly. Reports that five others were wounded in the attack have been denied by a local resident who told the Libya Herald, however, that two other vehicles had been destroyed in the blast.

Ramli has had a high profile, appearing on TV on several occasions to explain what was being done to crush IS in Benghazi. “Daesh hates him,” said one security official.

He has sent out a message from hospital stating that he suffered only minor wounds and is otherwise fine.

Responding to the attack, the interior minister of Abdullah Al-Thinni’s interim government called top security officials to a meeting in Benghazi to review the city’s safety needs.

UN Special Envoy Martin Kobler has condemned the incident.

Africa Subsaharan
5,000 Freed in Boko Haram Rescue Operation
[CARE2] The rescue took place in the northeastern part of the country in four remote villages. 10 holy warriors and one civilian were allegedly killed during the operation.

This isn’t the first time the Nigerian Army has rescued a large number of kidnapped civilians this year, and it could signal a weakening of the myrmidon group. However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
the situation remains complex. Those close to high level leaders within the government remain under scrutiny.

Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
has operated a deadly campaign in Nigeria since 2009, and in that time, the group has killed roughly 20,000 civilians and displaced over 2.5 million from their land.

Boko Haram has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, and according to those who have been rescued, life under the myrmidon group is brutal.

Binta Abdullahi, who was rescued over a year ago, told ABC News that kidnapped women are threatened with forced marriage or slavery:

They asked us to marry Boko Haram members but we told them there was no way we could get married because we were already married to our husbands. They said since we would not marry them they would sell us as slaves at the right time.

Arabia
Suicide bomber strikes near US diplomatic site in Saudi Arabia
[SouthAfricaToday] A suicide bomber carried out an attack early Monday near a U.S. diplomatic site in the western Saudi city of Jiddah, according to the Interior Ministry.

The ministry said in a statement the attacker detonated his suicide vest when security guards approached him near the parking lot of a hospital. The attacker died and two security men were wounded with minor injuries, according to the statement published by the state-run Saudi Press Agency. Some cars in the parking lot were damaged.

Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki said in the statement the attacker caught the attention of the security guards, who noticed he was acting suspiciously at an intersection located on the corner of the heavily fortified U.S. consulate in Jiddah, located by the Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. Most of the consulate’s staff had reportedly moved offices to a new location.

The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed in a statement for U.S. citizens that there were no casualties or injuries among consular staff. The embassy said it remains in contact with Saudi authorities as they investigate the attack.

The Interior Ministry did not specify if the attacker was intending to target the U.S. diplomatic compound, saying an investigation was underway to determine his identity.

A 2004 al-Qaida-linked militant attack on the U.S. consulate in Jiddah killed five locally hired consular employees and four gunmen. The three-hour battle on the compound came amid a wave of al-Qaida attacks targeting Westerners and Saudi security posts.

More recently, Saudi Arabia has been a target of Islamic State group attacks that have killed dozens of people. The extremist group views the Western-allied Saudi monarchy and government as heretics. Saudi Arabia is part of the U.S.-led coalition fighting the IS group in Iraq and Syria.

In June, the Interior Ministry reported 26 terror attacks had taken place in the kingdom in the last two years. Local affiliates of the IS group have targeted minority Shiites and security officials.

The attack comes just days before the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which observant Muslims fast daily from dawn to dusk.

The U.S. Embassy regularly issues advisory messages for U.S. citizens in Saudi Arabia. In a message issued Sunday and another one issued after the attack Monday, the embassy urged Americans to “remain aware of their surroundings, and take extra precautions when travelling throughout the country.” It also advised citizens to “carefully consider the risks of traveling to Saudi Arabia.”

A drone strike kills three al-Qaeda suspects in Yemen
Security officials and tribesmen say that at least three suspected al-Qaeda militants have been killed in a drone strike in southern Yemen.

The officials said the militants were hit while traveling in an SUV in the province of Shabwa. Tribesmen put the death toll among the militants to six and said the vehicle turned into charred, twisted metal. They said they believe a US drone is behind the attack. It was not immediately possible to verify their account.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because of fear of reprisal.

The attack came at a time the White House revealed for the first time that as many as 116 civilians were killed by drone and other US strikes in different countries including Yemen since 2009 when President Barack Obama took office.

Muslim doctor shot, wounded outside Houston mosque
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A doctor headed for morning prayers at a Houston mosque was reportedly ambushed by three masked men who shot and maimed him on Sunday, a day after a Muslim man was beaten outside a Florida mosque.

The victim of the Texas incident, identified as Dr. Arslan Tajammul, an eye specialist, was undergoing surgery and was expected to survive, according to KTRK, an ABC television affiliate.

The doctor had parked his car and was walking to the Madrasah Islamiah mosque when he was ambushed and shot twice at about 5:30 a.m. EST (0930 GMT). His three attackers fled on foot, KTRK reported.

The victim was able to toss his cell phone to someone at the entrance to the mosque on Bintliff Drive and DeMoss Drive , in southwest Houston, and ask them to call 911, the TV station said.

Houston police did not immediately respond to a request for information.

The shooting took place a day after a Muslim man was beaten outside a Florida mosque that had been attended by the gunman who killed 49 people at an Orlando nightclub.

The victim in that case was punched in the head and face outside the Fort Pierce Islamic Center just after 4 a.m. (0800 GMT) on Saturday, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said.

FBI: Tucson man arrested in conspiracy to commit terrorism in Arizona
[AZCentral] Eighteen-year-old was arrested in Tucson, accused of plotting against government buildings in Maricopa and Pima counties.
No doubt the sturdy, upright lad gave no inkling of his plans to anyone except his dozens of on-line friends. His parents were just happy he'd given up girls, drugs, and the demon alcohol to join them at Friday services at the local mosque.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Arizona Attorney General's Office have tossed in the clink
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
an 18-year-old Tucson man they say conspired to carry out acts of terrorism against government buildings in Maricopa and Pima counties.

Mahin Khan was arrested in Tucson following an investigation by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, according to the FBI. He was booked into Maricopa County jail on suspicion of conspiring to commit terrorism.

Attorney General's Office spokeswoman Mia Garcia and FBI officials said Khan's alleged plans did not involve the Fourth of July or any related festivities.

"The Arizona Attorney General’s Office is working closely with federal authorities to keep Arizonans safe. We are not aware of any threats Khan made that involve the Fourth of July holiday weekend," Garcia said.

Garcia said there are no additional suspects and no current threat to the public involving Khan's plans.

Khan has had his initial court appearance but court records have been sealed and no additional details were immediately available.

A man who said he was Khan's father, contacted at his home in Tucson, declined to comment.

Records show Khan lived with his family in a gated community near River Road and Camino Boscaje Escondido in north Tucson close to the Catlina Foothills. Additional family members could not be reached for comment.

Neighbors who lived near the Khan family at a prior residence described the family as quiet, but declined to be interviewed.

NYC: Walker in Central Park severely injured in explosion
At a press conference Sunday, officials said they believe an explosion in Central Park near Fifth Avenue and East 62nd Street was caused by an 'experiment' of fireworks or a homemade device. There is no evidence suggesting that the explosion was terror-related.
Except that the victim stepped on a rock and it exploded, just like a land mine.
The victim who was severely injured has been identified as 18-year-old Connor Golden from Fairfax, Virginia. Golden was walking with two friends when he stepped on something and it blew up, according to witnesses.

Police said witnesses told them the man had just stepped onto a rock when an explosion occurred. People in the area said the explosion was heard blocks away.

Our Eyewitness News cameras were rolling from two blocks away, and captured the sound of the explosion as it happened:

Police are still trying to determine who the device belonged to. The victim and his friends were cleared, and officers said they were innocent victims. The device had been left in Central Park for approximately one day.

"We were climbing down the rocks, Connor was 6 feet behind me and all of sudden I felt the explosion on my back," said one of Golden's friends, Thomas Hinds. "The explosion sounded like a gunshot next to my ears. I turned around and saw his foot which wasn't completely blown off but was severely mutilated. My other friend Matthew was behind Connor and all he saw was massive amount of dirt go flying up in the air."

The NYPD bomb squad is still on the scene investigating.
The NY Daily News adds:
Connor Golden, 18, of Fairfax, Va., had just climbed down off a rock near E. 60th St. and Fifth Ave. about 10:52 a.m. when he stepped on the “shock-sensitive” explosive, Lt. Mark Torre, the commanding officer of the NYPD’s Bomb Squad, said. It was inside a black plastic bag when it exploded, a high-ranking police source said.

A disintegrated matchbook was found nearby, leading investigators to believe that someone tried to set it off sometime on Friday, but left it behind when it didn’t work, the high-ranking police source said.

“The explosion could have been an experiment with fireworks or homemade explosives,” O’Connell said. “We believe this could have been put here as some sort of experiment.”

The high-ranking police official said some of the components were similar to “snappers,” which erupt with a loud sound when they are thrown to the ground.

“There were no timers or trips or wires or even shrapnel,” the source said. “It was not set up with any sophistication. If he was going to harm people, he wouldn’t have put it far off the path. They also would have put some nails or ball bearings in it.”

There is forensic evidence that indicates that it was not meant to go off by somebody stepping on it. It may have not gone off at an earlier time and then it was just left there,” Torre said.

“This is somebody who had knowledge of chemistry, but you don’t have to do anything more than be good with computers to get enough knowledge of chemistry to be able to create some of this type of material, readily available material unfortunately,” he said without elaborating on what types of material were in the bomb.

Two ISIS leaders killed by coalition jets south of Mosul
These are two different ISIS leaders than were reported killed by coalition jets yesterday.

's (ISIS) top local leaders in the town of Gayara, southern djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, were killed on Saturday in Arclight airstrikes carried out by warplanes from the US-led coalition, a Kurdish official told Rudaw.

"Today the coalition warplanes killed Mahdi Luizi, the ISIS Gayara Wali [governor], and Hamadi Khafaji, in charge of ISIS mortars," Ismat Rajab, a Kurdish official from Mosul, now in exile, told Rudaw.

The Iraqi army launched military operations to retake Gayara and Shargat, two strategic towns in southern Mosul, on June 18.

Gayara is a large town on the Tigris River, 80 kilometres south of Mosul.

By capturing Gayara and neighbouring Shargat, the Iraqi army will edge closer to Mosul, ISIS’ main stronghold in Iraq.

In the meantime, Baghdad announced another offensive against ISIS in Anbar province's far eastern town of Khalidiya Jazira, which has long been held by the krazed killer group.

"Following the control of Halabisa, Albu Alawan, and Albu Aifan, the Iraqi security forces in coordination with tribal fighters, Iraqi and coalition fighter jets, the Khalidiya Jazira operation was launched in eastern Ramadi," said Raji Issawi, deputy head of the security committee of Anbar Provincial Council.

Issawi added that "ISIS [ISIS] snuffies are fiercely defending. But the security forces are advancing according to military plans."

He suggested that the town will "soon be liberated."

Like Gayara, ISIS took over Khalidiya Jazira in mid-2014. It is considered an important stronghold of the murderous Moslems in eastern Ramadi. Located in the desert between Samarra and Ramadi, it is an ideological heartland for Islamic holy warriors, having been a stronghold of al Qaeda before the rise of Islamic State.

Iraqi army takes three more villages in Makhmour, killing 29 militants
[RUDAW.NET] Three more villages were retaken from the Islamic State

(ISIS) and at least 29 gunnies were killed on the Makhmour front by the Iraqi army, as part of the ongoing offensive against the group in Shargat and Gayara, in southern djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
"The villages of Mehele, Hasriya, and Karma were liberated [from ISIS]," Emin Sheikhani, a Kurdish official within the Iraqi army, told Rudaw.

Sheikhani added that ISIS suffered huge casualties among its ranks upon their retreat as 29 gunnies were bumped off.

The pre-dawn assault, which was launched at 4 am, is still ongoing, he added.

The assault is part of the massive Mosul offensive and warplanes from the US-led coalition in coordination with Iraqi artillery units have actively been doing their part.

Clashes have now stretched to Gayara bridge as the Iraqi army is advancing with heavy weapons. Sheikhani suggested that Gayara bridge will soon be liberated.

In other military developments against ISIS, two of the group’s top local leaders in Gayara were killed on Saturday in Arclight airstrikes carried out by warplanes from the US-led coalition, a Kurdish official told Rudaw.

In the meantime, Baghdad announced another offensive against ISIS in Anbar province's far eastern town of Khalidiya Jazira, which has long been held by the bad boy group.

US remains ‘united’ with Iraq after deadly blasts
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The White House on Sunday condemned bombings in Baghdad that killed nearly 120 people and maimed 200, saying the attack only strengthened the United States’ resolve to confront ISIS myrmidons.

"We remain united with the Iraqi people and government in our combined efforts to destroy ISIL," the White House statement said, using an acronym for the self-declared ISIS.

A refrigerator truck packed with explosives blew up in Baghdad’s central district of Karrada, killing 115 people and injuring at least 200. In a second attack, a roadside device went kaboom! around midnight in a market in al-Shaab, a Shiite district, killing at least two people, police and medical sources said.

The bombings demonstrated the murderous Moslems’ ability to mount significant attacks despite major battlefield losses, including the city of Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
which was declared "fully liberated" from ISIS just over a week ago.

In the deadliest attack, a boom-mobile hit Karada, a busy shopping district in the center of Baghdad, killing 86 people and wounding 170, according to police and hospital officials. It struck as families and young people were out on the streets after breaking their daylight fast for the holy month of Ramadan.

ISIS grabbed credit for the bombing in a statement posted online, saying they had deliberately targeted Shiite Muslims. The statement could not be independently verified.

At dawn Sunday, fire fighters were still working to extinguish the blazes and bodies were still being recovered from charred buildings. Many of the dead were children, according to News Agency that Dare Not be Named news hounds at the scene.
Ambulances could be heard rushing to the site for hours after the blast. An eyewitness said the kaboom caused fires at nearby clothing and cellphone shops.

Hours after the bombing, Iraq's prime minister visited the blast site. Video footage uploaded to social media showed an angry crowd, with people calling Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi a "thief" and shouting at his convoy.

In the second attack, an improvised bomb went off in eastern Baghdad, killing 5 people and wounding 16. No group grabbed credit for the attack.

The casualty figures were confirmed by police and hospital officials, who spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to release information to the press.

The Baghdad attacks come just over a week after Iraqi forces declared the city of Fallujah "fully liberated" from ISIS. Over the past year, Iraqi forces have racked up territorial gains against ISIS, retaking the city of Ramadi and the towns of Hit and Rutba, all in Iraq's vast Anbar province west of Baghdad.

Despite the government's battlefield victories, ISIS has repeatedly shown it remains capable of launching attacks far from the front-lines.

Before the launch of the operation to retake Fallujah, Iraq's prime minister was facing growing social unrest and anti-government protests in Baghdad sparked in part by popular anger at the lack of security in the capital. In one month, Baghdad's highly-fortified Green Zone - which houses government buildings and diplomatic missions - was stormed twice by anti-government protesters.

ISIS still controls Iraq's second largest city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
as well as significant patches of territory in the country's north and west.

At the height of the murderous Moslem group's power in 2014, ISIS rendered nearly a third of the country out of government control. Now, the forces of Evil are estimated to control only 14 percent of Iraqi territory, according to the office of Iraq's prime minister.

eight Paleostinians, including the sister of a terrorist who murdered a teenage girl in the settlement of Kiryat Arba, in overnight sweeps in the West Bank, the army said Sunday morning.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the sister who was arrested Sunday was the same one who praised her brother’s actions, but the IDF said the arrest came "as part of dealing with incitement and encouragement of attackers to engage in terrorist attacks."

The official Paleostinian Authority news agency WAFA said Tarayrah was 22 years old. Muhammad Tararyah’s father was also arrested by Israeli troops, shortly after the attack.

Police arrested six people in the Hebron area and two more in the Paleostinian town of Beit Fajjar, near Bethlehem.

The roundups came as the army was bolstering its activity in the West Bank following a surge in attacks over the past several days, including a deadly drive-by shooting near Hebron on Friday.

Sunday for taking part in violent demonstrations on the Temple Mount, bringing the total number of recent arrests in connection with the holy site up to 58, police said.

Law enforcement anticipated additional arrests as coppers worked to identify those who have thrown rocks and otherwise taken part in riots in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The month-long holiday of Ramadan has seen an uptick in violence and unrest in the West Bank and Israel. The Temple Mount in particular, which was the site of multiple riots and violent incidents last September, had been relatively calm until the recent outbreak of rock throwing and festivities between worshipers and police.

On Friday night, a number of Arab men hurled stones at Israeli security forces stationed at the Damascus Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. Police quickly responded with riot dispersal measures, and there were no injuries or damage reported.

"The police have no intention of ignoring the latest disturbances that have happened on the Temple Mount and in the Old City area. We will continue to operate with all the tools at our disposal to locate, arrest and bring to justice the rioters," Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevi said in a statement on Sunday.

On Friday, Halevi instructed more than 3,000 police and Border Police officers to deploy throughout the capital ahead of the nighttime prayers.

Syrian regime kills 30 civilians in ‘retaliation’ for execution of pilot
[RUDAW.NET] The Syrian regime has carried out Arclight airstrikes on civilian targets in the residential neighbourhood of Jayrud, northeast of Damascus, killing at least 30 one day after a Syrian plane crashed in the area and the pilot was killed by fighters from the Nusra Front.

Targets of the air raids included a medical centre and a school, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and rebel sources. Thirty civilians and two medics were killed. The Observatory said that many more residents were maimed in the strikes, which rebels believe were in retaliation for the killing of a Syrian pilot the day before.

...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. claimed to have shot it down.

The pilot ejected and was captured. He was killed by a fighter with the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front while being held at a joint command centre.

After images of the dear departed pilot were shared on social media, the Syrian army warned of a strong response to the killing.

Jayrud had largely been spared bombing in the Syrian civil war, now in its sixth year, after striking a truce with the Syrian army. It became a haven for thousands of civilians fleeing the fighting in nearby areas and is densely populated.

SDF deny ISIS claim to have seized territory around Manbij

claimed on Sunday to have made advances against Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) both northwest and south of Manbij, retaking nine villages. The SDF confirmed that they are clashing with the ISIS bandidos Lions of Islam but maintain that they remain in control of the area.

Social media accounts linked to the gunnies also named two jacket wallahs who targeted Kurdish forces in the area, claiming to have inflicted heavy casualties.

Shervan Derwish, official spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces, confirmed on Facebook that the forces of the Manbij Military Council (MMC) have clashed throughout the day with ISIS bandidos Lions of Islam on three fronts in the Manbij area. But the bandidos Lions of Islam have fled the area, he stated, with MMC forces pursuing them.

Syrian Democratic Forces are leading an operation to liberate Manbij from Islamic State under the umbrella of the locally formed Manbij Military Council. The SDF are a multi-ethnic force dominated by the Kurdish Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG).

Derwish also said that the MMC has the bodies of at least 40 deceased bully boys, and the number of casualties is expected to rise. He did not report any casualties on the MMC side.

Derwish added that the situation is now under the control of the Manbij Military Council.

The SDF are backed by US-led coalition forces who carried out six Arclight airstrikes in the Manbij area on Saturday, destroying two ISIS fighting positions and an ISIS vehicle.

Qaeda fighters kidnap US-backed rebel chief in Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] US-backed rebels on Sunday accused Al-Qaeda-linked fighters of storming their headquarters in northwestern Syria and kidnapping their commander and dozens of other combatants.

In an online statement, Jaish al-Tahrir (Liberation Army) said its commander, Mohammad al-Ghabi, was kidnapped from his father’s home in the town of Kafranbel by Al-Nusra Front jihadists on Saturday evening.

It said Al-Nusra fighters also "kidnapped more than 40 members of Jaish al-Tahrir" and stole weapons from other bases and checkpoints set up in northwestern Syria.

"We call on Al-Nusra Front to immediately release our commander and all the others who were kidnapped," the statement said, urging other Islamist groups to put pressure on the jihadists.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the incident and said the US had supported Jaish al-Tahrir with weapons and even salaries in the past.

ISIS Repels U.S.-backed Forces in Northern Syria

bully boyz on Saturday pushed back U.S.-backed forces trying to advance into their stronghold of Manbij for the first time since a major offensive to capture the city and cut off the Death Eaters' main strategic access route to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, a monitoring group and Kurdish sources said.

The Syria Democratic Forces (SDF), comprised of Kurdish and Arab fighters and backed by the air power of a U.S.-led coalition to fight Islamic State and aided by U.S. Special Forces, have been involved in the month-long Manbij operation aimed to seal off their last stretch of Syrian-Turkish frontier.

The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the bully boyz had evicted SDF troops from a main district south of the city which has been the scene of heavy fighting after jacket wallahs blew up an car bomb.

The bully boyz also recaptured a village northwest of the city.

An SDF front man, however, denied reports they had pulled back from positions inside the city and said the campaign to uproot the bully boyz would continue until they "liberated Manbij."

"I stress that we have not retreated any step and all our positions are under our control," Sharfan Darwish, front man for the SDF-allied Manbij Military Council, said in a statement.

The US-backed forces have been bogged down in fighting in the northern and southern outskirts of the city after rapid advances that began with the capture of dozens of villages around the city until they surrounded it from all sides.

Progress in storming the city has been slow with the bully boyz using snipers, planting mines and preventing civilians from leaving, hampering U.S. airpower's ability to bomb the city without causing large casualties, Kurdish sources said.

Fighting was mainly focused near a major grain silo complex south of the city that had been hit by U.S.-led coalition jets.

Manbij's loss would be a big blow to the bully boyz as it is of strategic importance, serving as a conduit for transit of foreign jihadists and provisions coming from the Turkish border.

's special envoy in the fight against Islamic State, said on Tuesday once the operation in northern Syria is completed, it would create the conditions to move on the Death Eater group's de facto capital of Raqqa. U.S. officials have anticipated a tough battle ahead.

The Manbij operation marks the most ambitious advance by a group allied to Washington in Syria since the United States launched its military campaign against Islamic State two years ago.

Syria regime, rebels battle for key farms near Aleppo
Syrian government forces were locked in fierce battles with rebels north of Aleppo yesterday in a bid to cut the last opposition route out of the city, a monitor said. Fresh clashes broke out overnight in Mallah, a section of farmland on the northern edge of the divided city of Aleppo, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

President Bashar al-Assad’s forces have been attempting to seize Mallah for more than two years as it runs adjacent to the Castello Road -- the last route rebels can use to access districts they control in the city.

“Regime forces were able to advance in the area, but the Castello Road is still open,” said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman.

“If they seize control of all of Mallah, they will be able to besiege the opposition neighborhoods of Aleppo city,” he added.

Syrian daily Al-Watan, which is close to the government, quoted a field commander yesterday morning saying the army had fully overrun Mallah but had not yet cut off the Castello Road.

“The army has two kilometers left to cut the militants’ only lifeline from the eastern neighborhoods to the outside world via the Castello Road,” the paper wrote.

Fighting has rocked Mallah since a government assault on the area began in late June, followed by a jihadist-led counterattack. The situation has remained fluid, with each side advancing briefly before being rolled back.

Dozens of fighters on both sides of the frontline -- including from the al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda -- have been killed there over the past week, the Observatory said.

Aleppo province is crisscrossed with supply routes for nearly all of Syria’s warring parties -- rebels, jihadists, the regime, and Kurdish forces. The city itself -- the country’s pre-war commercial capital -- has been divided since mid-2012 into rebel-held and regime-held areas.

Syria’s government has pledged to retake the whole city despite efforts by Washington and regime ally Moscow to stem the violence there.

The Beatings Will Continue: Iraqi Edition
(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk said on Sunday that ISIS executed fifteen (15) persons, including eight of its own members, on charges of cooperation with the security forces and deserting the battlefield southwest of the province.

According to information shared by the source, “ISIS executed seven civilians from Hawija in front of a civilian gathering in central Hawija-55 km southwest of Kirkuk,” further adding, “The execution was based on the decision of the legitimate court.”

The information also added, “Moreover, ISIS also executed eight of its own members charging them of showing cowardice and deserting the battle fronts.”

ISIS executes 7 for desertion

[ARA News] DUHOK – The radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) on Sunday executed seven of its own militants on charges of treason, local sources in Iraq’s northwestern Mosul city reported.

The seven militants were accused of escaping the battlefront in the Sharqat district south of Mosul, where heavy fighting continued between ISIS and the Iraqi army.

“The Sharia Court accused them of high treason. They were subsequently executed in central Mosul amid the attendance of dozens of ISIS members as well as residents from the city,” media activist Munzir Hussein told ARA News in Mosul.

“A Sharia official read a statement before the execution was conducted, saying those who flee the jihad fronts are enemies of Allah and unbelievers, and that they deserve death,” the source reported.

Dissidence

In early May, ISIS has executed eight of its own militants on charges of attempting dissidence in the city of Manbij in Syria’s northern province of Aleppo.

Local activists confirmed that ISIS has executed its own militants for trying to desert the group’s ranks and flee to Turkey.

Speaking to ARA News in Manbij, media activist Nasser Taljbini said that ISIS militants who observe Syria-Turkey borderline near their areas of control have arrested several members of the group while trying to escape and cross the border into Turkey.

“The arrestees, including jihadis from several Arab nationalities, were executed by firing squad on Tuesday near the Ittihad University building west of Manbij,” the source reported.

Taljbini pointed out that a masked member from the Sharia Court in Manbij explained the reason behind executing the militants, saying “these are traitors for the Caliphate”.

In February, ISIS-linked border guards were able to capture an ISIS militant, a Tunisian national, along with his Chechen wife, in the city of Jarablus northern Syria, while trying to flee the group’s ranks to Turkey, according to local sources.

“ISIS border guards were able to capture the Tunisian militant and his wife near the Turkish border in the western suburbs of Jarablus before crossing border into Turkey,” media activist J.S., based in Jarablus, told ARA News, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

The source pointed out the arrestees were taken to the ISIS’s Sharia Court in Jarablus for interrogation.

Several reports confirmed that many ISIS militants have deserted the group’s ranks recently, especially in the areas under its control in Jarablus, Manbij, and al-Bab in Aleppo suburbs near the Turkish border.
