Two young men shot outside NY gov. hopeful Rep. Lee Zeldin's Long Island home while twin daughters inside
[NYPOST] Two young men were shot outside the Long Island home of GOP gubernatorial candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin on Sunday while his twin teenage daughters were at home, he confirmed to The Post.

"My daughters Mikayla and Arianna were doing homework on the first floor," said Zeldin, who was not at the house in Shirley at the time. "They heard the shots. Boom! They went upstairs and locked themselves in the bathroom.

"They’re freaked out," the congressman said of his 16-year-old girls. "One of the bullets was found 30 feet from where my daughters were doing their homework."

Detectives are investigating the drive-by shooting as gang-related and were still looking for the gunman or button men, according to a law enforcement source.
Gangs? I thought Long Island was full of nice, safe suburbs. Shows what I know.
Zeldin, who has made rising crime one of his prime campaign issues, said he was infuriated by the shooting in a Sunday night presser.

"I’m standing in front of scene of the crime tape in front of my own house," he said while standing beside his family. "You can’t get me more outraged than I am right now."

Sources said that while the shooting took place two doors down from Zeldin’s home — and a bullet hit the congressman’s fence — it had "nothing to do with’’ the candidate, who is running on a tough-on-crime platform.

One of the two 17-year-old victims jumped over the congressman’s fence trying to escape getting shot as the bullets flew, knocking over a "Zeldin for Governor" sign in the process, according to sources.

Sources said one of the victims was shot in the chest, while the other was grazed on the arm.

A high-ranking law enforcement source told The Post the teen victims are "known to the department" and have been "involved with car thefts."
Yahoo adds:
The pair were doing homework at their kitchen table on Sunday afternoon inside the Shirley home when three teenagers walking along the tree-lined street were shot at from a moving car.

Two 17-year-olds, from Mastic and Mastic Beach, were struck by bullets and took cover in bushes and under the front porch of Zeldin’s home.

In Amazing Proof of Liberal Insanity-Trans Women Are Still MEN Required To Register For The Draft! YJCMTSU!
[PostMillennial] The Biden administration's requirements for who must register for Selective Service in the event that there is a draft includes those persons that identify as trangender but are born male. "Almost all male US citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service," and that includes males who identify as transgender.

"US citizens or immigrants who are born male and changed their gender to female are still required to register. Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register."

Darrell Issa accuses Biden DOD of moving goalposts to hide scale of recruiting crisis
[FoxNews] The Department of Defense (DOD) denied an accusation of cooking its books on military recruitment numbers after the Pentagon released its most recent numbers.

The office of Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who served in the Army as a captain, accused the DOD of manipulating its recruitment numbers to appear to be meeting goals by lowering the numbers branches need to hit.

"The Pentagon is facing a self-inflicted crisis it can’t spin its way out of," Issa said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "It’s impacting mission, manpower, and morale, and the current Commander in Chief is most to blame."

"I served as a Lieutenant during President Carter, when our Army was demoralized. I was also a Captain during President Reagan, when we felt vigor, pride, and purpose," Issa continued.

"Biden - like Carter - is the leader our soldiers and recruits don’t want to follow," he added.

Issa said the "lack of a denial from the Pentagon speaks loudly to the truth that my staff uncovered with the aid of whistleblowers."

"I cannot and will not stand by while soldiers who trust me bring forward the truth about what’s happening to our military," he continued.

Issa's office told Fox News Digital they have been digging into the personnel numbers and speaking with sources about the declining military manpower.

The congressman's office also pointed to August 2021, during Biden's disastrous and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan, as the beginning of the personnel decline.

A source with extensive knowledge of current military practice, who requested anonymity to avoid professional repercussions, spoke to Fox News Digital after the DOD released their latest round of recruitment numbers that saw less than robust numbers and a shortfall in Army recruits.

The source says the numbers are not accurate and accused the DOD of shifting recruitment goalposts when it became clear branches would not meet their intake goals.

"The DOD, the Pentagon, knew that they weren't going to meet their number the first quarter. They didn't. They had no one," the source said. "And then around February and March, they started a message that they were going to reduce the force combat missions that ended, obviously, in Afghanistan."

"They did it in Iraq in December," they continued. "There's less deployments."

The source said that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has the authority to raise or lower the total fighting force by "3 percent, give or take and what incurs a cost" before congressional authorization is required to go higher or lower.

"So they started messaging that they're going to reduce the costs and that's the shifting of the goalposts," the source said. "And you started seeing that in February and March of this year."

The source also cited the military COVID-19 vaccine mandate, subsequent firings and freezing out of service members who refuse the vaccine or are awaiting religious exemption as another reason for the recruitment decline.

"It’s crushed morale, crushed unit cohesion, crushed camaraderie," the source said.

The source added that, with the war in Ukraine and China’s rising global influence, "it's a dangerous time to reduce military forces."

Commander Nicole Schwegman, a Pentagon spokesperson, denied the DOD was manipulating recruitment numbers but simultaneously said the branches will adjust their goals based on how many people they are retaining and cutting along in addition with "attrition."

"The Department does not manipulate military recruiting data," Schwegman said. "As part of achieving their End-strength objectives, the Services set their own recruitment goals and will make adjustment to those goals based upon Service retention rates, separation rates, and attrition."

Fox News Digital also asked the Pentagon if the DOD believes policies like the COVID-19 vaccine mandate or recommending Army soldiers go on food stamps to deal with inflation are contributing to the recruitment decline.

The DOD did not answer the question and instead blamed a multitude of other reasons for the decline in military recruitment.

The shortfall has caused speculation that the military may have to restructure itself and adjust to the reality that its current recruiting goals are not attainable. Leaders will also be forced to lean more heavily on National Guard and Reserve troops if recruiting numbers fail to rebound.

#1  LOL they cooked the books on progress in Afghanistan for decades! They're experts at the craft. Nobody went to prison for it.

The whole idea of the Biden regime is to purge the military of right wingers because they're planning some shit that will require that the Army sit down and not interfere, when it clearly must. We are a dangerous threat to the DC blob, and will be dealt with harshly.

'You gotta get some help.' Listen to Joe Biden's tearful voicemail plea to Hunter revealing he knew his son was having a drug-fueled meltdown at the time he bought a gun - and lied about being a drug abuser on purchase form
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Joe Biden sounds close to tears as he begs Hunter to get help in a voicemail left on Hunter’s abandoned laptop on October 15, 2018

  • The timing of message reveals the president knew about his son's drug-fueled meltdown at the time he purchased a gun three days earlier on October 12

  • Hunter, 52, lied about being a drug user when filling out a sworn gun purchase form at a Delaware store

  • The First Son checked off that he was not a user of illegal drugs, but later admitted in his own memoir that he was a crack addict at the time

  • Lying on gun forms is a felony, punishable by a maximum 10 years prison and a $250,000 fine

  • 'It's Dad,' says Joe in the October 15 voicemail three days after the gun incident: 'You gotta get some help. I know you don't know what to do, I don't either'

  • Comes after it was revealed Thursday that federal agents believe there is enough evidence to charge Hunter with tax crimes and lying on a firearms document

Mexican Governments Frame Highway Robbery Scheme with 40 Victims as Fake News
[Breitbart] Mexican officials are trying to deny a large-scale highway robbery where gunmen targeted more than 40 motorists stuck in traffic. Despite cell phone and dashcam videos posted by victims, officials are calling the case “false.”

The case took place last week in the coastal state of Veracruz, along the highway that connects Orizaba with the state of Puebla. The initial version of events revealed that a large number of motorists were forced to stop due to a vehicle accident. Soon after, gunmen on motorcycles arrived and began robbing motorists at gunpoint, Excelsior reported.

Initial reports revealed that the gunmen went vehicle-by-vehicle pointing firearms and demanding valuables. Some of the claims revealed that motorists tried to call 911, but no emergency responses were provided.

Soon after local news outlets reported the massive highway robbery, the Veracruz government issued a short statement calling the information false with no contrary details. Authorities claim that no reports were filed and as such no crime took place.

Major Rail Union Rejects Deal Brokered by Biden as Countdown to a Strike Next Month Begins
[PJMedia] Just in time for Christmas, the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the Teamsters has rejected a deal brokered by the White House last month. That agreement forestalled an imminent strike that would have crippled the nation’s economy.

The proposal rejected by the union included the largest wage increases in more than 40 years and time off for medical and dental visits. But the deal left some important issues on the table to be negotiated later and that didn’t satisfy the union.

“Railroaders are discouraged and upset with working conditions and compensation and hold their employer in low regard,” union President Tony D. Cardwell said in a statement. “Railroaders do not feel valued. They resent the fact that management holds no regard for their quality of life, illustrated by their stubborn reluctance to provide a higher quantity of paid time off, especially for sickness.”

NBCNews:

In a brief statement, the National Carriers’ Conference Committee, which represents the country’s freight railroads in national collective bargaining negotiations, said it was “disappointed” with the decision.

Rejecting the tentative agreement sets in motion a “status quo” period in which the union will resume negotiations with large freight carriers.

The Associated Press reported that the union will delay any strike until five days after Congress reconvenes in mid-November to allow time for additional negotiations.

The unions don’t want to give Democrats any more midterm headaches this year, so they’re delaying any strike vote. But the union has some valid complaints. And the railroads have only themselves to blame.

New York Times:

Nearly two decades ago, companies used to spend around 80 percent of their revenues on running trains and covering operating expenses like payroll, fuel and maintenance. The remaining 20 percent could then be used for stock dividends and buybacks for shareholders. Today that operating ratio is much closer to 60 percent. Since 2010, rail companies have spent $196 billion in stock dividends and buybacks for shareholders. Pursuing these financial goals has actively surrendered railroads’ market share to trucks, delayed trains and angered both unions and customers. It’s not sustainable.

And there are “quality of life” issues that need to be addressed.

Ten years ago, railroading was a middle-class job where workers might not get typical weekends, but they could at least get some equivalent time off. With new attendance policies, conductors and engineers would be disciplined for activities such as visiting the doctor or attending a funeral. Effectively, for these workers, a weekend or an eight-hour workday does not exist.

Freight trains today are incredibly long, and with the emphasis on cost-cutting, there are far fewer employees to manage them. And with trucks being pushed off the road by the government’s climate policies, the freight companies will become more important than ever.

#2  My CSX Railroad friends told me this a month ago. It's not about the money but the working conditions. One of my passengers had scheduled a weekend off a month in advance and paid for the hotel at that time. The day before he was scheduled to leave he was called to work the next day even though he had scheduled the off weekend. He was told either report or find a new job. It was well past the time he could cancel his motel and was not able to get a refund. He lost 800 bucks.

#3  Can we get the Dance Step graphic please?
This is just more theatre IMHO between the union bosses and the Democrats. The union will get some concessions which really won't help the members much (but give the leadershit lots of incentives) and the Biden Administration can claim they 'averted a disaster'.

#4  My family started working for the railroad in 1920. They say the issue is not pay, but time off. My relative said that the members wouldn't buy the latest deal from the Feds, and that the unions know it. The strike was only delayed by the White House shenanigans, not averted.

  • The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) held fundraisers in Paris and Geneva earlier this month, it was reported this weekend

  • Asked for comment by DailyMail.com, the DCCC said: Chairman Maloney has been on a 10 city, 10 day fundraising swing raising millions of dollars'

  • They were being raised to 'help stop MAGA Republicans who want to pass a national abortion ban from gaining control of Congress'

  • Their European trek came just over a month before the midterm elections

  • Democrats are projected to narrowly lose control of the House

  • Invitations were aimed at earning donations from American expats in Europe. U.S. citizens living abroad are allowed to participate in elections back home, including voting absentee and giving money to candidates.

Can the FBI's Reputation Sink Any Lower?
[SPECTATOR.ORG] This week Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel John Durham will begin presenting evidence in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the serial liar whom the FBI used as its "source" to justify spying on the Trump campaign. Durham has already made a bombshell disclosure that the FBI secretly put Danchenko on the bureau’s payroll despite knowing that the information he fed them was fabricated. There is much speculation that more evidence of the bureau’s misconduct will be revealed as the Danchenko trial unfolds.

Danchenko was the principal "source" for bogus tales about former President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
, including the infamous (and fictional) pee tape. Danchenko’s lurid fiction was the centerpiece of the discredited Steele dossier. The dossier was not verified intelligence; rather, it was a political hit job compiled by the Clinton campaign and paid for by the Democratic National Committee. #2  A very real threat could be the federalization or subordination of selected local law enforcement agencies by embedding advisors or special detachments within senior decision maker chains of command. As local law enforcement agencies are unable to respond or cope with increasing crime and violence, federalization of those agencies would permit the federal government to exercise operational control.

The current "Defund the Police" movement could bring about a further deterioration of local law enforcement and require such a federalization.

This expanded FBI mission would require personnel augmentation to key geographic areas. The first phase of this augmentation could see an initial surge of 80,000 additional federal agents.

[JudicialWatch] Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of Justice for records related to the housing of U.S. Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd at Joint Base Andrews after he shot and killed U.S. Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt inside the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 (Judicial Watch v U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:22-cv-02948)). Judicial Watch has received information that Byrd was housed at Andrews in the immediate period after he killed Babbitt.

The unarmed Babbitt was shot and killed as she allegedly climbed through a broken interior window in the United States Capitol. She was a 14-year Air Force veteran. The identity of the shooter was kept secret by Congress, the Justice Department, and DC police for eight months until Byrd went public in August 2021 to try to defend his killing of Babbitt.

Judicial Watch filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after Joint Base Andrews, the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, and the FBI failed to respond to three July 2022 FOIA requests about Byrd’s housing at Joint Base Andrews while his name as the shooter of Ashli Babbitt was being withheld from the public by the government.

In its complaint, Judicial Watch explained to the court that it had asked all three government agencies for all records relating to the billeting of Byrd at Joint Base Andrews during the period from January 6, 2021, to July 2022, including authorization papers, housing, meals, transportation, and visitor logs.

"This is a rather extraordinary January 6 cover-up of why the Defense Department was involved with the aftermath of the improper police killing of an unarmed woman (and a veteran)," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

In June 2022, Judicial Watch produced DOJ records related to the shooting of Babbitt that included a memo recommending "that the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia decline for criminal prosecution the fatal shooting of Ashli McEntee [Babbitt]," also noting that the shooter, Byrd, "did not create a police report or documents" related to the shooting of Babbitt. A footnote details missing evidence: "During the debrief of Lieutenant Byrd, he did recall writing a few sentences on an evidence bag the evening of January 6, 2021, at the request of a crime scene officer. To date, the bag has not been located by USCP or MPD."

In November 2021, Judicial Watch received multiple audio, visual and photo records from the DC Metropolitan Police Department about the shooting death of Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2021, in the U.S. Capitol Building. The records include a cell phone video of the shooting. An audio file of a police interview of the shooter, Byrd, indicates he declined to cooperate.

Judicial Watch previously uncovered records from the DC Metropolitan Police showed that multiple officers claimed they didn’t see a weapon in Babbitt’s hand before Byrd shot her, and that Byrd was visibly distraught afterward. One officer attested that he didn’t recall hearing any verbal commands before Byrd shot Babbitt. The records include internal communications about Byrd’s case and a crime scene examination report. Investigators who wrote the January 6, 2021, Metro PD Death Report for Babbitt (identified as Ashli Elizabeth McEntee-Babbitt Pamatian) note that the possible Manner of Death was "Homicide (Police Involved Shooting)."

Judicial Watch is engaged in a comprehensive, independent investigation into the January 6 disturbance:

February 2022: Judicial Watch filed an opposition to the U.S. Capitol Police’s (USCP) effort to shut down Judicial Watch’s federal lawsuit for January 6 videos and emails. Through its police department, Congress argues that the videos and emails are not public records, there is no public interest in their release, and that "sovereign immunity" prevents citizens from suing for their release.

In November 2021: Judicial Watch — in its FOIA lawsuit asking for records of communication between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and several financial institutions about the reported transfer of financial transaction records of people in DC, Maryland and Virginia on January 5 and January 6, 2021 — told a federal court that the FBI may have violated law in its January 6 probes.
