Dan Rather returns to CBS for the first time 18 years after his disgraced departure
[NYPOST] Dan Fake but Accurate Rather
...the man who put the BS in CBS News. In 2004 he put on a news story that highlighted dissatisfaction with Lt. George W. Bush in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam war. This was almost casually--but gleefully--debunked by the Blogosphere at large. Rather's face was rubbed in journalistic mud, four of his staff were fired, and within a short time his 43-year (about the same length as Muammar Qadaffi's) career had settled to the bottom, from whence he periodically emits a bubble, which proves he's not dead yet. See BS News, formerly respected, continues putter along, but there's something missing, like viewers...
returned to the CBS News airwaves for the first time since his bitter exit 18 years ago, appearing in a reflective interview on "CBS Sunday Morning" days before the debut of a Netflix documentary on the 92-year-old newsman’s life.

After 44 years at the network, 24 as anchor of the "CBS Evening News," Rather left under a cloud following a botched investigation into then-President George W. Bush’s military record. Rather signed off as anchor for the last time on March 9, 2005, and exited the network when his contract ended 15 months later.

With continued enmity between him and since-deposed CBS chief Leslie Moonves, Rather essentially became a nonperson at the news division he dominated for decades.

"Without apology or explanation, I miss CBS," Rather told correspondent Lee Cowan in the interview that aired Sunday. "I’ve missed it since the day I left."

Rather escaped official blame for the report that questioned Bush’s Vietnam War-era National Guard service but, as the anchor who introduced it, was identified with it. CBS could not vouch for the authenticity of some documents upon which the report was based, although many people involved in the story still believe it was true.

#11  Rather is a product of a corporate culture at CBS that went largely undetected until his lie was exposed. They purged him and his immediate associates but the culture continued. In reality, he's no worse than Nora O'Donnell or any of the rest of them. His counter parts at ABC and NBC are all just as bad if not worse. Somebody must still be watching because they're still on the air. That's the hell of it.

Scotland's Yousaf will resign as first minister - BBC
[JPost] Scotland's first minister Humza Yousaf will resign as early as Monday, the BBC reported, after the possibility of him winning a vote of confidence this week appeared to dwindle over the weekend.
Scotland is too white
“Scotland's First Minister Humza Yousaf to resign as early as today, the BBC understands," BBC News said, without citing a source.

Scotland's First Minister Humza Yousaf will give a press conference later on Monday, Times Radio reported Monday morning.

Yousaf quit as head of the pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) after a week of chaos triggered by his scrapping of a coalition agreement with Scotland's Greens.

He then failed to secure enough support to survive votes of no confidence against him expected later this week.

It came in handy at the outset of WWII when Members of Parliament realized that Neville Chamberlain wasn't up to the task and Churchill had been right about Hitler all along.

Government Corruption
DHS Keeps Detention Space Unfilled as Criminal Illegals End Up in U.S.
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to keep detention space unfilled as several recent cases revealed that criminal illegal aliens were released into American communities after crossing the United States-Mexico border.

As of April 25, DHS had just a little more than 34,000 illegal aliens in its detention facilities — a fraction of the 6.2 million illegal aliens who, by the end of Fiscal Year 2023, are in deportation proceedings but are living throughout the U.S. on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) non-detained docket.

The low detention rate comes after Congress approved 41,500 ICE beds for the rest of the fiscal year, far above the 25,000 ICE beds that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas requested.

Joe Biden's Brother Embroiled In High-Ranking Qatari Scheme To 'Provide Wealth Of IntroductionsThrough My Family'
[ZERO] Qatar has had a lot of fingers in a lot of pies. While we knew about the EU's 'Qatargate,' investments with the Kushner family, and of course Sen. Bob Menendez advancing Qatar's interests, Politico reports that the Biden family's ties to Qatar "would constitute some of the closest known financial links between a relative of President Joe Biden and a foreign government," if courtroom testimony about Jim Biden's foreign fundraising efforts is substantiated.

In June 2017, Qatar's neighbors - led by Saudi Arabia, banded together and cut diplomatic ties with the country, citing its alleged support for terrorism. As a result, the country was thrown into a sustained crisis.

To dig themselves out, Qatari rulers began showering well-connected Westerners with gifts and financial benefits, according to Politico, "sometimes in the form of investment funding."

Around this time, Jim Biden was trying to raise $30 million for embattled hospital chain Americore - teaming up with Florida businessman Amer Rustom, CEO of the Platinum Group, who boasted of his ties to officials in the Middle East, as well as fund manager Michael Lewitt. Together, the three sought investment funding from various Middle Eastern sources for Americore and other ventures - "which came to focus largely on Qatar," according to a former Americore executive who spoke on condition of anonymity.

According to public records obtained by the outlet, Jim Biden leveraged ties to his older brother and "sought workarounds to restrictions on international money movements," including one discussion about trying to move money across a Middle Eastern border in the form of gold bars that may or may not have happened.

"My family could provide a wealth of introductions and business opportunities at the highest levels that I believe would be worthy of the interest of His Excellency," Jim Biden and Rustom wrote in a draft letter to an official at the Qatari sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority. "On behalf of the Biden family, I welcome your interest here," the draft continues.

Transactions related to the efforts are central to a recently-settled fraud case brought by the SEC, and are under fresh scrutiny as part of a federal criminal investigation in South Florida.

Eric Trump warns Biden could be hit with charges for White House cocaine if SCOTUS rules against immunity
[NYPOST] Eric Trump warned that if the Supreme Court brushes aside presidential immunity, prosecutors could line up a case against President Biden over last summer’s White House cocaine debacle.

The Trump scion further cautioned that if his father fails to win his bid for absolute immunity then the floodgates could be open to a flurry of prosecutions against other presidents.

"They’ll probably go after Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
for having cocaine in the White House. They’ll go after Biden for raiding his opponent’s home," Eric Trump, 40, predicted on Fox News’ "Sunday Morning Futures."

"They will probably go after him ... for literally, two weeks before the 2022 primaries, literally depleting the petroleum national — the reserves so he could lower gas prices," he railed.

Last Thursday, the Supreme Court heard a landmark case in which former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
, 77, claimed that presidents enjoy absolute immunity for their official actions, and therefore the courts should toss out his four-count 2020 election indictment.

Justices on the conservative-led high court appeared deeply skeptical about the claim of absolute presidential immunity, while simultaneously sounding leery about presidents having no immunity.

By mounting the presidential immunity challenge, the elder Trump managed to delay the 2020 election subversion trial, which was supposed to commence on March 4.

Echoing the former president’s legal team, Eric Trump cautioned that without immunity protecting former commanders-in-chief, overzealous prosecutors could have a field day.

"The only people who are going to benefit are big law firms in Washington, DC, because they are going to go after every single president. They will start with Obama, Fast and Furious, right, where he gives 2,000 weapons to cartel members," Eric Trump mused.
