[Breitbart] The ATF’s background check rule redefines the word “sale” so that private sellers who receive services or barter in exchange for a gun are required to use the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
Breitbart News reported the ATF’s announcement of the proposed rule on August 31, 2023. The rule redefines what it means to be “engaged in the business of selling guns,” thereby expanding the instances in which an unlicensed seller — i.e., a private citizen — must use the NICS to sell/transfer a gun.
Much of the rule focuses on guns being sold for “profit,” using degree of profit and frequency of sales to categorize private sellers as persons who must go through NICS to sell/transfer guns.
However, pages 26-27 of the rule equates “pecuniary gain” with “profit,” opening the door for the ATF to redefine the word “sale” so as to require a NICS check when a private seller is “bartering” over a gun.
Beginning with the last paragraph on Page 26 and reading into the first paragraph of page 27, the reader sees clearly that the ATF is defining the terms: “Defining these terms to include any method of payment for a firearm would clarify that persons cannot avoid the licensing requirement by, for instance, bartering or providing or receiving services in exchange for firearms with the predominant intent to earn pecuniary gain even where no money is exchanged.”
Second Amendment Foundation founder and executive vice president Alan Gottlieb commented on the ATF rule, saying, “This is a continuation of the Biden war on guns. It is another attempt to get around Congress to make new laws without congressional approval.”
Since the SCOTUS ruled, the 2nd applies to individual citizens. The right of the people to keep and bear arms, cannot be infringed by some Federal bureaucrat with a pen creating politically motivated Regulations.

Their fault is that they can't say the truth out loud so they try to blanket cover everything. Bartering for illicit drugs and stolen goods would obviously imply certain communities. It's their nature (see frog and scorpion) to engage in group punishment.

Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., that would have altered Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to mandate that federal authorities obtain a warrant before surveilling American citizens. Johnson and 85 Republicans joined Democrats in killing Biggs’ proposal through a tied House vote.
CIA Director Bill Burns, who rarely speaks publicly about how the agency uses the program, told POLITICO in a statement that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act's Section 702 — which has caused long-running GOP infighting that forced House Republicans to punt on reauthorization three times in the past — has been key to its disruption of illegal fentanyl shipments into the U.S.
“The threat to the US posed by fentanyl and other synthetic opioids is real,” Burns said in the statement. “Section 702 is an essential tool in CIA’s mission to protect the American people from a range of threats, including illicit fentanyl trafficking. Without this vital program, CIA simply would not be able to defend our country as effectively in as many dangerous corners of the world.”

The current thinking is that the Rino's were convinced by the argument that the current use of FISA stopped some nastiness or another. This might actually be true, but if it's such a valuable tool, the Alphabet Secret Societies (ASS's) shouldn't have risked it by misusing it against 4A restrictions.

[RedState] The now-defunct January 6th committee is set to take another gut punch after the emergence of three whistleblowers from the Washington, D.C., National Guard.
According to The Daily Mail, which first reported the revelation, the three officers will testify that then-President Donald Trump and then-Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller did approve the deployment of the guard to help secure the Capitol Grounds. A hearing has been set for Wednesday in front of the House Oversight Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk.
Whistleblowers from the Washington D.C. National Guard will tell Congress that Donald Trump did want them deployed during the Capitol riot and the Army delayed telling them to mobilize in a bombshell hearing next week.
DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal that at least three officers will appear Wednesday before a House subcommittee to claim their stories were also ignored by the Democrat-led January 6 committee, because it didn't fit their narrative.
The hearing will aim to further prove that Acting Defense Secretary at the time Christopher Miller did give advance approval of D.C. National Guard deployment at the direction of then-President Donald Trump.
The testimonies the whistleblowers are set to deliver strongly contradict the proclamations of the January 6th committee. Liz Cheney, one of the loudest members, spent years insinuating that Trump not only planned for the January 6th riot to occur but that he did nothing to try to prevent it or quell it. Further, the January 6th committee allegedly hid testimony countering that narrative.
None of these details comport with Cheney's claim in the committee's final report that Trump never requested National Guard troops to help secure the grounds. That would explain why the January 6th committee, which was only interested in placing blame on the former president, did not release this testimony and instead kept it locked away.
As with the previously hidden testimony of Anthony Ornato mentioned above, these National Guard whistleblowers will testify that the January 6th committee ignored their on-the-ground experiences because they didn't fit the anti-Republican narrative. The lengths to which Cheney and her cohorts went to cover up the truth is truly astonishing. Far from a straight telling of the facts, they hid and even deleted evidence showing that they found inconvenient.
Additionally, the whistleblowers will reveal how the January 6 Committee did not want to hear their testimony because it corroborated Trump and his allies' claims that the former president did authorize the National Guard days in advance to respond to any violence or unrest on January 6, 2021.
Also found in their upcoming testimonies will be evidence that then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy sat on White House orders to deploy the guard to the Capitol. The report notes that a possible motivation could have been McCarthy's desire to secure a position within the soon-to-begin Biden administration.
