Arabia
Yemeni Defence Minister calls on coalition to heed warning of Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i Minister of Defence, Mohammed al-Atifi, renewed his warning to the Saudi-led coalition of a decisive battle.

During his visit on Wednesday to the fighters of the 82nd Infantry Brigade, who are stationed in the front lines of al-Tina front in Medi district of Hajjah province, the minister called on the coalition to heed the warnings of Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
and his advice to stop the aggressive war, lift the siege and leave all Yemeni lands.

Major General al-Atifi stressed that "the next battle will be the battle of empowerment, decisiveness and clear conquest, if they don’t stop their aggression, lift their siege and leave the Yemeni soil."

"We will be with you to support you, not only with the capabilities necessary to achieve combat superiority, but also with our blood, and everything we possess to protect the homeland, illusory sovereignty and independence," he said.

The minister praised the high morale of the fighters stationed in the Medi front, saying: "We congratulate you on the great victories that were achieved on this front before the armistice."

Britain
UK unveils plans to house asylum seekers in military bases
[AlAhram] The UK plans to temporarily house asylum seekers in disused military bases and could use ferries and barges in the future in a bid to reduce hotel bills, immigration minister Robert Jenrick announced Wednesday.

He told MPs that the government planned to house "several thousand" asylum seekers at repurposed barracks buildings and portable buildings at two former Royal Air Force bases in southeast and eastern England.

A separate site on private land in East Sussex in southeast England will also be used, Jenrick added.

The government is also exploring the "possibility of accommodating migrants colonists in vessels" such as ferries and barges as it looks to reduce a £2.3 billion ($2.8 billion) annual bill for hotel accommodation.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has made stopping illegal crossings of the Channel one of his priorities, and Jenrick said the prospect of hotel accommodation was a draw for those making the dangerous journeys.

"These hotels take valuable assets from communities and place pressures on local public services," he told MPs, adding "we must not elevate the wellbeing of illegal migrants colonists above those of the British people".

"Accommodation for migrants colonists should meet their essential living needs and nothing more, because we cannot risk becoming a magnet for the millions of people who are displaced and seeking better economic prospects," the minister said.

But the plans face opposition from charities, who branded the accommodation "grossly inadequate", and the Labour Party, whose shadow interior minister Yvette Cooper called the proposals an "admission of failure".

Europe
Named: Killer, Two women Killed in Horrific Knife Attack at Lisbon Ismaili Centre
[KhaamaPress] On Tuesday, two women were stabbed to death at a Moslem religious facility in the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

An Afghan refugee at the Ismaili Center in Lisbon carried out the horrifying knife attack that left two women dead, Khaama Press has confirmed.

Farana Sadrudin, 49, and Mariana Jadaugy, 24, were the two dead victims of the attack on the Ismaili Center in Lisbon on Tuesday.

Farana Sadrudin was a Setubal Higher School of Technology engineering instructor.

Mariana Jaduagy earned her undergraduate degree in political science and international relations from Nova de Lisboa University and her master’s degree in the same field from the University of Lisbon’s Higher Institute of Economics and Management, According to Portugal Resident.

Both the victims were the teacher and colleague of the murderer.

The murderer has been identified as Abdul Bashir, an Afghan refugee. Bashir was around 40, a widower and father of three underage children.

Shortly after his family arrives in Europe, his wife is claimed to have died in Greece. He and his three kids spent over a year residing in Odivelas.

His close friends said he was unhappy in Portugal and planned to move to Germany.

During a Portuguese class with more than 16 students present, the murderer attacked the victims. The perpetrator unexpectedly attacked the teacher, who was hospitalized at death's door, the two women who passed away, and the teacher with a knife.

Portuguese police shot the attacker after he refused to lay down a large knife and began to approach them. According to officials, local media reported that he was detained and sent to the hospital.

The Ismaili community supports the victims’ families and is deeply shocked and grieved by the horrible occurrence.

Ismaili Moslems are a culturally diverse community with members in over 25 countries, mainly Central and South Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Australia. They number between 12 and 15 million people worldwide. Hence, as a global community, Ismailis are responsible residents of the countries in which they reside.

"The community adheres to a 1,400-year tradition of Shi’a values that are expressed through a commitment to a search for knowledge for the betterment of self and society; embracing pluralism by building bridges of peace and understanding; and generously sharing of one’s time, talents, and material resources to improve the quality of life of the community and those among whom they live," according to the Ismailia website.

Portuguese Ismailis established gathering centres for social and cultural purposes in the major cities and towns where they settled in the 1970s.

They also located office space for the establishment of charitable organizations that they supported. According to Ismailia’s website, as these organizations grew and matured, they "engaged a greater number of institutional partners and the wider Portuguese public."
Investigators said Wednesday they had uncovered no indication a knife attack that left two women dead at a Lisbon Islamic center was terror-related.

The alleged assailant, identified as an Afghan refugee, may have suffered a mental health crisis before the violence on Tuesday that ended with officers shooting and wounding him, police said.

"There is no indication that this is a terrorist attack" or involved the radicalization of the suspect, said judicial police chief Luis Neves.

"What may be involved here, but only a psychiatric evaluation can determine it, is that it was a mental crisis", Neves said, adding the inquiry was ongoing.

According to witnesses, the suspect was taking a language class at the Ismaili Muslim centre on Tuesday when his behaviour changed suddenly after taking a phone call.

A teacher was attacked and then two women who worked at the centre were fatally wounded before the assailant was shot by police. The suspect was in hospital on Wednesday.

Investigators have managed to trace the suspect's route from his home nation to his arrival in Greece, where his wife died in a fire.

Iranian embassy denies anti-Semitic attack plot in Greece
[AlAhram] Iran's embassy in Greece on Wednesday denied any connection to an alleged plot for anti-Semitic attacks in Athens using Paks of Iranian origin.

"The embassy of the Republic of Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
strongly denies the rumours spread by Zionist sources and their baseless accusations against Iran," it said on Twitter.

"It is obvious that their fabricated scenarios are intended to divert the public's attention from their internal crisis."

Greek police on Tuesday said they had arrested two young Paks of Iranian origin who were planning attacks on areas frequented by Israelis in central Athens.

The source said that the men had targeted a building which houses a Jewish restaurant and a prayer centre.

Police spokeswoman Constantia Dimoglidou told AFP the "criminal mastermind" of the cell is "a Pak who lives outside Europe".

A police source, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said the person lived in Iran.

Israel accused Tehran of being behind the plot and said its national intelligence agency Mossad had helped avert an attack.

"After the investigation of the suspects in Greece, the Mossad helped untangle the intelligence of the network, its operational methods and ties to Iran," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said.

"As part of the investigation, it emerged that the infrastructure in Greece was part of a broad Iranian network, operated from Iran toward many countries," a statement said.

Some Greek reports have cast doubt on the case, noting that the Pak suspects were farm labourers detained in February for lacking residency papers.

"Olive grove 'terrorists'," read a headline in leftist daily Efsyn.

The two suspects will be taken before a prosecutor on Friday.

The announcement came as Greece's under-fire prime minister announced elections would be held on May 21, as popular anger seethes over government failures blamed in last month's train tragedy that killed 57 people.

Greece's intelligence agency EYP has also faced pressure in past months over a wiretap scandal that erupted last year.

Earlier in March, the Greek intelligence agency hailed as a "success" the discovery of an alleged Russian spy after she had already fled the country.

Fifth Column
Trans Activists Call for More Blood After Nashville Shooting
[PJ] Following the mass shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville on Monday, there were concerns regarding a possible connection between the shooter and the Trans Radical Activist Network (TRAN), which had called for a "Day of Vengeance" this Saturday. Though at the moment, there is no known link between the shooter and the group.

Some had speculated that TRAN might tone down their rhetoric or even cancel their planned "Day of Vengeance" in light of the tragic events. But instead, the group is escalating their calls for violence and expressing support for the shooter, Audrey Hale.

In a statement for the media released Monday, the group neither confirmed nor denied knowing Audrey Hale, but suggested she was driven to commit her crimes because of an existential threat against transgender people, the so-called "trans genocide."

"We do not claim to know the individual or have access to their inner thoughts and feelings," the group’s statement read. "We do know that life for transgender people is very difficult, and made more difficult in the preceding months by a virtual avalanche of anti-trans legislation, and public callouts by Right Wing personalities and political figures for nothing less than the genocidal eradication of trans people from society."

US Senate votes to repeal 2002 measure that approved Iraq war
[IsraelTimes] The Senate votes to repeal the resolution that gave a green light for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, an effort to return a basic war power to Congress from the White House 20 years after an authorization many now say was a mistake.

Iraqi deaths are estimated in the hundreds of thousands, and nearly 5,000 US troops were killed in the war after President George W. Bush’s administration falsely claimed that Saddam Hussein was stockpiling weapons of mass destruction.

"This body rushed into a war," says Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, a Democrat who has pushed for years to repeal the powers. The war has had "massive consequences," Kaine said.

Senators vote 66-30 to repeal the 2002 measure and also the 1991 authorization that sanctioned the US-led Gulf War. If passed by the House, the repeal would not be expected to affect any current military deployments. But politicians in both parties are increasingly seeking to claw back congressional powers over US military strikes and deployments, and some politicians who voted for the Iraq War two decades ago now say that was a mistake.

"Americans want to see an end to endless Middle East wars," said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 47.31288 years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
, adding that passing the repeal "is a necessary step to putting these bitter conflicts squarely behind us."

The assailants blocked traffic junctions at the entrances to Ein Harod and adjacent Tel Yosef in northern Israel.

“Just like you all blocked the Ayalon, that’s what you’re going to feel now. Get it?” the assailants said, referring to the highway in Tel Aviv that anti-government protesters blocked over the weekend.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Norway says repatriating five from ISIS-linked camp in Syria
[Rudaw] Norway said Tuesday it was repatriating two women and three children from a detention camp in northeast Syria housing suspects with links to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS), explaining the decision on grounds of security concerns and squalid conditions.

"There are a number of considerations for bringing the children home. The camps are completely unsuitable for a child’s development, both physically and psychologically. The decision to provide consular assistance in this case has been made out of consideration for the children’s lives and health," Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt said in a statement.

Thousands of children of foreign nationals with suspected links to the Islamic State (ISIS) live in northeast Syria’s al-Hol and Roj camps, with human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
groups calling camp conditions "filthy," "often inhumane," and "life-threatening."

"The situation for the children in the camp they have been in is dangerous, both in terms of safety and health. Getting these women back to Norway is also important for security reasons," Huitfeldt added, noting the necessity of the repatriations to avoid security threats.

"The two women will be arrested by the police upon arrival in Norway," according to the statement. All five of the women and kiddies were housed in the Roj camp.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who control northeast Syria, fought the lion’s share of the battle against ISIS and arrested thousands of the terror group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they crushed ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria in 2019.

Over 50,000 ISIS-linked people are kept in the notorious al-Hol camp in Hasaka province, while thousands of others are kept in Roj camp.

The camp at al-Hol, located in the far southeast of Hasaka, has been branded a breeding ground for ISIS and described as a "ticking time bomb" by authorities, who say the situation in the squalid facility is "very dangerous."

Kurdish authorities in the region have repeatedly called on the international community to repatriate their nationals from the camps, but their calls have largely gone unanswered as most countries are unwilling to bring back their ISIS-linked nationals due to security concerns.

In the statement, Huitfeldt thanked the Kurdish administration "for the role they have taken and continue to take on behalf of the international community in combating and containing" ISIS.

Assad reshuffles Syria's Cabinet amid harsh economic crisis
[An Nahar] Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs...
replaced several Cabinet ministers Wednesday amid a sharp increase in prices and worsening economic conditions during the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, state media reported.

SANA reported that Assad replaced the ministers of oil, internal trade, industry and social affairs and labor.

The news agency did not give a reason for the government reshuffle, but it comes amid harsh public criticism over rising prices and food shortages during Ramadan, when observant Moslems abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk.

Syria's economy hit its lowest point this year since the start of the conflict in 2011, with spiraling inflation, a currency plunge and sharp increase in food prices.

It's the result of years of war, Western sanctions, widespread corruption and a three-year economic meltdown in neighboring Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

Syria hopes that an improvement of relations with oil-rich Arab gulf nations, that once supported the Syrian armed opposition, will help ease the economic crisis.

Last week, state Saudi television reported that the kingdom is in talks with Syria to reopen its embassy in the war-torn nation for the first time in a decade. Other gulf nations including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain reopened their embassies in Damascus in recent years.

Gemayel refuses a president of 'Hezbollah republic'
[An Nahar] Kataeb party leader Sami Gemayel said Wednesday that Hezbollah will not be able to impose a president on the Lebanese and that such a president would be the president of "Hezbollah's republic" and not of all the Lebanese.

In a presser, Gemayel said that the elected president should have the ability and willingness to negotiate in order to restore illusory sovereignty and solve the problem of Hezbollah's weapons.

"We should go to parliament and elect a president who can unite the Lebanese and who is not imposed on us," he said.

Gemayel decried provocative behavior and attempts to establish superiority over others, amid an unprecedented economic crisis.

During a joint committees session on Tuesday, Amal MP Ali Hassan Khalil had reportedly said to Gemayel that he is a "son of criminals."

He said that "it is time to look forward but it seems that they are still living in that (war) era."

"We know what war means and we don't want to return to it," he added.

Thread connecting Newroz crime in Syria’s Jindires with ISIS

and its affiliated armed opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), took control over areas in Syria’s north, including Afrin in 2018, and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad in 2019, human rights

violations against civilians have never ceased.

Both military operations against Afrin (Olive Branch) and against Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad (Peace Spring) caused the total displacement of about 700,000 individuals.

The Ottoman Turkish-backed SNA factions in these areas have committed an endless series of violations mainly targeting the original inhabitants — Kurds, Yazidis, Christians, and Alawites — in addition to committing systematic violations that amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The factions have posted footage of holy warriors stealing, seizing civilians’ properties, and inciting the killing of the areas’ residents.

Although these factions have violated international and human rights laws and international norms since the date they occupied these areas, and though many documentations and human rights reports prove their involvement in arbitrary arrests, kidnappings, killings and many other crimes, they have never been held accountable.

JINDIRES CRIME
On the eve of Newroz, on March 20, the new year that is celebrated by Kurds all over the world, holy warriors of Jaish al-Sharqiya, a Ottoman Turkish-backed SNA faction, carried out a systematic crime in the town of Jindires of Afrin countryside, shooting to death five civilian Kurds, four from one family — Farah al-Din Othman, 43, Nazmi, 38, Muhammad Nazmi, and Muhammad — and wounding a child, for igniting the Newroz flame, which is a key ritual of celebrating the holiday, in front of their house.

According to the victims’ sister, the holy warriors shot at her brothers and nephew with more than five bullets. The sister said in a video that went viral on social media, "ten bullets were removed from the body of my brother."

She went further adding that the Ottoman Turkish-backed holy warriors were about to attack residents of Jindires when they gathered in front of a hospital, where the dead and maimed were brought to, while shouting the names of the victims, expressing their anger over the crime.

The victims’ another sister stressed that this is not the first time SNA holy warriors have attacked her brothers. In 2018, during the invasion of Afrin, they fled strikes by Ottoman Turkish aircrafts. When they returned after Afrin was occupied, they were shocked to see that the factions had seized the house of one of her brothers. When he demanded that his house be returned, he was arrested and tortured, before being released.

The Liberation and Construction Movement (LCM), a coalition of factions headed by Ahrar al-Sharqiya, denied that the perpetrators were affiliated to their faction. In a statement issued on March 21, they indicated that the perpetrators of the crime were two individuals, one of whom was arrested, while the whereabouts of the other is unknown.

In another statement, the LCM announced that three IDPs had been arrested as the perpetrators of the crime, and later it announced that a fourth person, who was also involved in the crime, had also been arrested.

Despite the contradicted statements of the First Legion within the Syrian opposition Interim Government’s Ministry of Defense, residents and eyewitnesses stressed that the perpetrators are affiliated with Jaish al-Sharqiya. One of them is called Hassan al-Dabaa, nicknamed ’Abu Hamza al-Khasham’. Another is Ali Khalaf, nicknamed ’Abu Habib al-Khasham’.

The North Press Monitoring and Documentation Department, based on eyewitnesses and the victims’ family members, reported that the criminals are from Jaish al-Sharqiya, which is affiliated with the Ottoman Turkish-backed SNA.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) also commented on the opposition factions and said that the Ottoman Turkish-backed opposition factions rarely hold their factions responsible for the series of human rights violations committed in the past five years. The HRW also emphasized in its report that Jaish al-Sharqiya is the mainly responsible for the crime.

The HRW called on Turkey, as an occupying power and as a backer of the local factions operating in areas under its control in northern Syria, to investigate these killings and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

It also stressed that Turkey should cut all support to SNA factions implicated in recurring or systemic human rights abuses and international humanitarian law violations.

155 Syrian organizations signed a statement condemning the crime committed on the eve of Newroz. They called on the UN to take all necessary measures to protect the civilians in Afrin and throughout Syria, and immediately cease the violations against them.

They also called on the UN to pressure Turkey as an occupying power to assume its legal responsibilities in ensuring public order and safety, and to stop the demographic changes in Afrin and all the Ottoman Turkish-occupied areas of Syria.

FACTION’S CONNECTION TO ISIS
On December 7, 2022, an unidentified drone targeted two members of Jaish al-Sharqiya riding a cycle of violence in the countryside of Jindires. Later, the Pentagon clarified that it was a US drone and that it had targeted one of the top five ISIS leaders, Maher al-Agal, along with one of his senior assistants. al-Agal was carrying an ID from the local council of Afrin under a pseudonym.

Al-Agal was responsible for the development of ISIS networks outside of Iraq and Syria and was in charge of a region in Raqqa under ISIS’ rule. He moved to Tel Abyad, which is under the control of SNA factions. Later the leader of Ahrar al-Sham

, which was designated as a "terrorist" group, ordered his removal to Afrin.

According to sources from Afrin and publicly available information, the man responsible for the Jindires crime, Hassan al-Dabaa, has connections with ISIS and is closely connected with the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

Front), Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, who in turn was a member in ISIS and worked with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. screeching muppets released photos of al-Dabaa accompanied by al-Jolani.

A military source confirmed to North Press that a great number of Jaish al-Sharqiya holy warriors are former ISIS and al-Nusra members that are designated as terrorist groups.

VIOLATIONS BY SNA FACTIONS
Jaish al-Sharqiya has a long history of violations, such as murder, kidnapping, torture, expropriation of property, cutting down trees, blackmail, in addition to hundreds of assaults since 2018, particularly in Jindires and its countryside.

In 2015, the faction slaughtered two defectors from the Syrian government forces after arresting and torturing them on the Azaz-Tel Rifaat road in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Jaish al-Sharqiya committed many violations alongside other factions before detaching itself from Ahrar al-Sharqiya. They committed blackmail, arrests, abduction of civilians in return for a ransom, and robbed public and private property. They also executed and killed many civilians under the charge of working with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to human rights organizations, the group is responsible for kidnapping more than 200 civilians in Afrin in return for ransom. It is known they killed the civilians Sharaf al-Din Sido, Rashid Hamid Khalil, and his disabled son, Muhammad Khalil, in 2022 after subjecting them to physical torture, as their relatives were not able to pay the ransom for their release.

The faction participated in the execution of Hevrin Khalaf, secretary-general of the Future Syria Party, and several of her companions on the M4 Highway, between Tel Abyad and Sere Kaniye, on October 12, 2019.

The harassment and actions of the factions against the people of Afrin are inhumane and amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. They have been ongoing for more than five years, and the perpetrators of these violations have not been punished or held accountable, which has exacerbated the situation in the region and increased the frequency of violations.

The deputy director of the Middle East and North Africa division at Human Rights Watch, Adam Coogle, said, "these killings come after over five years of unaddressed human rights abuses at the hands of Ottoman Turkish forces and the local Syrian factions they empower. Turkey has allowed these fighters to abuse people living in the areas under their control with impunity, risking making itself complicit in the violations."
