[The Federalist] Ben Rhodes, former deputy of national security for President Obama, told journalist Nicholas Ballasy that the Obama administration was unaware and uninvolved in the FBI’s investigation into then-candidate Donald Trump.
"Literally, I learned about the investigation into Trump as a private citizen in the freaking Washington Post," Rhodes said. Just like Zero. Everything he learned he got from the paper
When asked about the dossier, Rhodes insisted he had nothing to do with.
"I saw it‐I heard about it at the very end in 2017. We weren’t, like, involved in commissioning the dossier. We learned about it when it was in the report that was appended to the report that went to Congress at the end of the administration," he said.
While Rhodes maintains the Obama administration’s innocence, unredacted copies of text messages suggest otherwise. Former FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page served on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation when their anti-Trump text messages were leaked. "The White House is running this," one text read.
Between 2016 and 2017, Obama For America (OFA), Obama’s official campaign organization, paid nearly a million dollars to the same law firm that funneled money to Fusion GPS, the firm behind the Steele dossier.

I suspect the Obama team is looking for a fall guy and Rhodes knows he's on the short list.

AG Barr needs to start systematically picking off the associates and go up the food chain. There will be those that want to save their worthless hides and start singing like canaries. Better give the grand juries high protein meals. They will be busy.

[DAWN] Republican Richard Lugar, a soft-spoken foreign policy powerhouse who championed nuclear nonproliferation during 36 years in the US Senate, died on Sunday at age 87. The Lugar Center, a Washington-based nonprofit, said in statement that he died peacefully due to complications from CIDP, a chronic neurological disorder.
Lugar, a professorial Midwesterner known for his keen intellect and mild demeanour, served as mayor of Indianapolis from 1968 to 1975 before his long stint in the Senate from 1977 to 2013. He was the longest-serving senator ever from Indiana.
Lugar was an influential Republican voice on foreign policy. Lugar, a former Rhodes scholar and an avid runner into his 70s, served as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and also headed the Agriculture Committee. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1996.

[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke has unveiled a $5 trillion plan to fight climate change. Foremost among the major changes the plan would enact is the replacement of all cars in the United States with skateboards.
O'Rourke got the idea while skating a half-pipe and smoking some weed with some local youths over the weekend.
"Can you imagine just how bad the nation would be with everyone grinding, flipping, tricking, and pop shove-it-ing all around? Totally rad," O'Rourke said to the youths as he passed a joint around. "Yeah, man, that'd be so sick. Bruh. I mean, dude. Bruh. Dude."
The candidate was asked to leave the skate park as it's for high schoolers, sadly. But he still came up with the basic framework for his plan before he crashed on his couch, Flamin' Hot Cheeto residue still stuck to his fingers.
"No one else is willing to take this kind of bold, decisive, totally tubular action against climate change," O'Rourke said in a speech Monday. "The nation will be 100% doper---and cooler---after I pass this plan with an executive order my first day in office, just like the Constitution allows me to."
[NYPOST] Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein submitted his resignation letter to President Trump on Monday, ending his tumultuous career at the Justice Department.
Rosenstein ‐ who was formerly the senior Justice Department official in charge of the special counsel’s probe into Russia ‐ offered his gratitude in the letter obtained by the Wall Street Journal.
"I am grateful to you for the opportunity to serve; for the courtesy and humor you often display in our personal conversations; and for the goals you set in your inaugural address: patriotism, unity, safety, education and prosperity," Rosenstein wrote.

[AMERICANTHINKER] Kirsten Gillibrand's fundraising has been so anemic that she may not be able to participate in the party's presidential debates ‐ unlike Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard, who already have made the cut.
It turns out that, at least in a crowded field, being stupid and unprincipled can be a handicap for a Democrat. Who knew? "These are my principles. If you don't like them, I can have others"
Kirsten Gillibrand, who managed to become a U.S. senator only because Perennial Presidential Campaigner Hillary Crooked Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away... vacated her seat to become Obama's SecState and the governor of New York wanted a woman to fill the seat, miraculously transformed from a Blue Dog Democrat representing a conservative upstate district into a full blown progressive when winning a statewide election was necessary.

the writer doesn't understand the rules
Gillibrand has already made the cut via the polling criterion
the issue is that the DNC will actually disqualify some of the candidates who make the cut to avoid overcrowding the stage and Gillibrand may lose on this because the individual donor numbers are less than other candidates who made the cut

Kirsten should start coughing & hacking during speeches, wear a back brace, stumble down stairs and get throw into a waiting SUV if she wants to be the front runner.

Me keeping track of the D primary must be like my wife keeping track of the NHL playoffs. "Oh, so Colorado is still in it? They're the Nuggets right?"
[HoustonChronicle] A South Texas mayor and his wife have been arrested on voter fraud charges, Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Thursday.
City of Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina and his wife, Dalia, are charged with illegal voting, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in jail and an up to $10,000 fine, related to his 2017 mayoral election. Molina unseated the incumbent Mayor Richard Garcia after winning by more than 1,200 votes in that election.
The couple is accused of asking voters to change their addresses to places they didn’t live, including an apartment complex Molina owns, so they could vote for him in the November 2017 city election as part of what Paxton described as “an organized illegal voting scheme.”
