It was gathered that the Army Commander, identified as Colonel DC Bako lost his life to an ambush set up by the Boko Haram fighters according to a report by Humangle.
Until his unfortunate death on Monday morning, Bako was the Commander, 25 Task Force Brigade fighting the snuffies in Borno State.

According to the Borno governor, the number of able-bodied people residing in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps left with nothing to do is an indicator of the impending problems.

He made this known on Monday during a visit to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission in Abuja.
Akufo-Addo has said the Death Eaters were also making inroads in the Lake Chad Basin, Mali and the Greater Sahel.
"This is most worrying, because surrogates of al-Qaeda in the Sahel and Boko Haram faceless myrmidons operating around the Lake Chad Basin, the two most active terrorist groups in West Africa, are exploiting the unacceptable levels of poverty in these areas, in the recruitment and indoctrination of youth," he said.
The Ghanaian president called for a strong regional approach to contain the growing threats of terrorist and turban activities.

Another soldier received a two-year sentence for violating orders, while two others were found not guilty on all counts and released, Mbeng told Rooters.
Under Cameroonian law, some of the defendants could have faced the death penalty , although Cameroon has not executed anyone since 1997. well, not officially, but at least 4 were...
Mbeng said Fabassou would likely appeal the verdict as witnesses gave contradictory accounts of whether he gave the order to shoot.
Government and army officials initially dismissed the video as "fake news".
But the soldiers' eventual arrest and prosecution were welcomed by activists, including Amnesia Amnesty International, who accuse government soldiers of repeatedly engaging in torture and extra-judicial killings in the far north.

I really get the feeling that certain parties using Antifa for cover are desperate to provoke some normal person into raising the black flag and start cutting throats.
They think this will 'inspire' more of their ilk and rise up. What they fail to realize is that when they get enough normal folks to raise that flag, they will no longer care what goes on as they will be receiving their just rewards in the hot place.
Attacking someone's family, threatening them with harm, these are lines you cross at your peril.

I, like many, have suggested stronger, even a lethal response to the most dangerous Rioters-Looters applied was needed.
In passing discussions at a Local Gun Show over the weekend. A key point became clear the police & fed's are showing warranted restraint.
The question always moved to WHY?
The general consensus was that likely the Riot Organizers actually want to have a deadly riot/protest for Media & Political reasons just before the election.
