[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian mercenaries have suffered heavy losses since they were transported to Azerbaijan to participate in the ongoing battles against the Armenian forces in the Karabakh region.According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the total number of Syrian mercenaries killed in Karabakh has reached 143 after three weeks of fighting.
"The corpse count among the Ottoman Turkish-backed factions has risen, since the Ottoman Turkish government sent them to the frontlines, to at least 143 dead, including 92 fighters whose bodies were brought to Syria while the rest of bodies remained in Azerbaijan," the SOHR reported on Monday.
At the same time, the Sputnik News Agency reported that more than 1,000 Syrian mercenaries have been sent to the Karabakh region in the past week.
While it is difficult to confirm these numbers, locals in northwestern Syria have corroborated reports about several Ottoman Turkish-backed fighters being recruited and transported to Azerbaijan to participate in the fight against the Armenian forces.
It should be noted that both The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... and Azerbaijan have denied these accusations and instead accused Armenia of using mercenaries from Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... and Syria to fight in the Karabakh region.

The thing about mercenary work and conflict zone contracting:
"The trick is not to get killed. That's really the key to the benefit program."
[ALMASDARNEWS] A powerful explosion was heard in the vicinity of the Karabakh Republic’s capital, Stepanakert, this evening, locals reported from the aforementioned city.
According to the reports from Stepanakert, the powerful explosion occurred in the mountains in the vicinity of the capital, as locals reported a flash at the blast site.
The cause of the earth-shattering kaboom is still unknown at this time, but locals reported seeing the Artsakh Defense Army’s air defense units open fire on a target in the night sky before the blast occurred.
It is still not clear whether or not this was the source of the earth-shattering kaboom, but Azerbaijani drones had been flying over the Karabakh region on multiple occasions on Sunday.
Meanwhile, ...back at the precinct house, Fat Tony demanded his rosco back. He didn't say please... on Sunday, the Armenian Ministry of Defense accused Azerbaijan of committing several ceasefire violations in Karabakh, despite agreeing to a humanitarian pause on Saturday.
"Despite the new agreement on the ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, the enemy tried during the day to violate the airspace of Artsakh Republic," the Armenian Ministry of Defense said, accusing Azerbaijan of attempting to advance in the southern and northern parts of the Karabakh region.

The Azerbaijani President said that the Armenian forces bombed his country with heavy artillery, which he said targeted the populated areas and combat sites of Azerbaijan.

Following yesterday’s reports here, here, and here.
[NYPOST] French police on Monday raided Islamic associations and probed foreigners suspected of holding holy warrior religious beliefs — three days after teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded outside his school in a Gay Paree suburb.Paty, 47, was murdered in broad daylight Friday by Abdoulakh Anzorov, 18, a Chechen refugee granted a 10-year residency in La Belle France this past March.
Following the attack, Anzorov confronted responding cops with an air-gun rifle — and shouted "Allahu Akbar," or "God is great" in Arabic — as the officers opened fire, killing him.
Anzorov sought to avenge Paty’s use of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad in the nude during a class on freedom of expression for 13-year-olds. Moslems consider any depiction of the Prophet as blasphemous.
The cartoons in question were published by the magazine Charlie Hebdo ...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe... , which was attacked by Moslemforces of Evil in 2015 over the caricatures — leaving 12 people dead and prompting massive demonstrations at the time.
Public figures have called Friday’s killing an attack on the Republic and on French values.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said that he was determining whether to disband about 50 associations within the Moslem community, and that some 80 investigations were being conducted into online hate.
"Police operations have taken place and more will follow, concerning tens of individuals," the minister told Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... 1.
A police source said Sunday that the country was preparing to deport 213 foreigners on a government watchlist, suspected of holding holy warrior beliefs — about 150 of whom are serving jail sentences.
4 students detained after French teacher’s beheading
[IsraelTimes] Fifteen people were in jug on Monday, according to a judicial source, including four students who may have helped the killer identify the teacher in return for payment.
Those detained also included four members of the killer’s family, as well as a known Islamist radical and the father of one of Paty’s students, who had launched an online campaign against the teacher.
Darmanin accused the two men of having issued a "fatwa" against Paty.
Sources in the interior ministry said there had been a total of 40 raids across La Belle France on Monday, mostly around Gay Paree, and 20 per day were planned going forward.
"We want to harass and destabilize this movement in a very determined way," one ministry source said.
Darmanin said the government would also tighten its grip on NGOs with suspected links to Islamist networks, including the Anti-Islamophobia ...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do... Collective, a group that claims to monitor attacks against Moslems in La Belle France.
Anzorov’s family arrived in La Belle France from the predominantly Moslem Russian republic of Chechnya more than a decade ago.
Locals in the Normandy town of Evreux where he lived described him as a loner who had become increasingly religious in recent years.
‘CAN’T GIVE IN TO FEAR’
French teachers have long complained of tensions around religion and identity spilling over into the classroom.
One education expert warned Monday that the murder might deter teachers from tackling touchy topics in future.
"There’s a huge amount of self-censorship," said Jean-Pierre Obin, a former inspector for the French education system. "We must fear that there will now be more."
But Jonathan Renoir, a 26-year old history teacher at a junior high school in Cergy near Gay Paree, said: "We can’t give in to fear, we must continue to talk about controversial things in class."
Another young history teacher, in Nice in southern La Belle France, said he, too, was "determined" to carry on.
"I will never stop teaching secularism and the freedom of expression, never," said the teacher who asked to remain anonymous.
The government has vowed to step up security at schools when pupils return after half-term.
Far-right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen called for "wartime legislation" to combat the terror threat.
Le Pen, who has announced she will make a third bid for the French presidency in 2022, called for an "immediate" moratorium on immigration and for all foreigners on terror watch lists to be deported.
France: Head of pro-Hamas group and parent put fatwa on beheaded French teacher
[IsraelTimes] The father of a student and the head of an Islamist pro-Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", group urged the killing of a French teacher who was beheaded for showing pupils cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, La Belle France’s interior minister said Monday.
One of the men was named as Abdelhakim Sefrioui, president of the "Cheikh Yassine collective." Sheikh Ahmad Yassin was a founder of the Hamas terror group. He was killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip in 2004.
According to French newspaper Liberation, Sefrioui was known to French security services for his Islamist activities and anti-Semitic speeches.
In July 2014, Sefrioui participated in protests in Gay Paree, chanting slogans in praise of Paleostinian terror groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... He reportedly denounced the teacher in a video posted to social media a few days prior to the attack.

If the police REFUSE or cannot Protect the citizens safety and private property, then do like we use to do in "less trying and challenging times".
We just officially notify the Sheriff /Chief Of Police in writing that

The 2 times I have seen this tactic used, I was amazed how quickly the proper resources are found. Especially if the head of Law Enforcement is ELECTED and no appointed.

[LegalInsurrection] Ithaca, NY, home to Cornell University, is a notoriously liberal town. That liberalism, both on and off campus, is taking on an increasingly intolerant and totalitarian tone, as was just demonstrated when a small pro-Trump rally was attacked by a crowd organized by the Ithaca Democratic Socialists, but also carrying Black Lives Matter and anarchist flags and posters.
The attack was reported in several local newspapers, including The Ithaca Voice:
A rally in support of President Donald Trump ...the Nailer of NAFTA... in downtown Ithaca descended into chaos on Friday afternoon, as multiple fights broke out between Trump supporters and counter-protesters who assembled to rebuke the rally....
The scene was tense from the beginning. A small group of Trump supporters gathered outside the Tompkins County Republicans office starting at 4 p.m., primarily led by Rocco and Max Lucente, who also helped organize the Trump march that took place earlier in October. From the start, they were met with a larger group of counterprotesters, organized by the local Democratic Socialists of America but attracting people of all stripes looking to oppose Trump, who were stationed directly across Meadow Street—reminiscent of the standoff that took place outside of City Hall during the aforementioned Trump event in Ithaca.
But while the two sides mostly kept their distance during that event, that was not the case on Friday. Soon after the start, one counterprotester, Dakota Ingraham, accosted the Trump supporters and stated he had felt threatened by one of their attendees: Ingraham claimed that during an argument a few minutes prior, he thought a man with Trump flags on his truck had reached into his vehicle’s cab for a gun, though he never actually saw a firearm. Inflamed by that, he argued with Trump supporters including both Lucentes and other rally-goers for several minutes. Police responded to the situation and briefly detained Ingraham after he tossed a Trump flag from the pick-up truck into the street, but he was released minutes later.
Promptly thereafter, counterprotesters began to move across the street, standing next to or in front of Trump supporters. The Trump ralliers began to fracture, some moving down the block, others staying in front of the building and exchanging words with counter-protesters. By 4:40 p.m., several of the ralliers had been backed into a corner by a group of counterprotesters who had ventured across the street, easily outnumbering the Trump supporters as both sides screamed at each other.
The Cornell Sun reported that Cornell Professor Russell Rickford, a self-proclaimed anti-capitalist activist, was involved:
By 4:30 p.m., around 60 counterprotesters had crossed the street, intermittently blocking traffic, to confront the roughly 20 Trump supporters....
Earlier this week, the Ithaca DSA planned in response a "Trump Rally counter-demo," to "let them know they are NOT welcome here," the group wrote in social media posts.
The Tomkins County Republicans issued this statement on Facebook, announcing that a planned "Back The Blue" rally in downtown Ithaca would go forward on October 24

[Jpost] The unnamed male suspect, from the Northern Israeli-Arab town of Daburiyya, projected the calls to violence while participating in a protest organized in support of an Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. Israel Police arrested a suspect protesting in Haifa on Saturday night for attempting to incite violence against Jews and for the kidnappings of IDF soldiers, Israel Hayom reported.
The unnamed male suspect, from the Northern Israeli-Arab town of Daburiyya, projected the calls to violence while participating in a protest organized in support of Islamic Jihad terrorist Maher al-Ahkras. He is a Paleostinian prisoner of Israel who was arrested in late July after being accused of being an Islamic Jihad member. Akhras has been on a hunger strike for the past 12 weeks.
"The police in Haifa arrested a resident of the North a short time ago who issued calls of incitement against Jews during a protest, including calls to become shahids [deaders], to murder Jews, and to kidnap soldiers," Israel Police said in a statement, according to the report.
The protest was held on the normally pedestrian-heavy Ben Gurion Boulevard, located in the German Colony of Downtown Haifa just below the Baha'i Gardens, and was organized by the Hirak Haifa group - an organization well-known for regularly holding anti-Israel protests throughout the city.
Israel Police were made aware to the group's activity within Haifa by the pro-Israel watchdog Im Tirtzu, which translated two demonstrations organized by the group in June and submitted formal complaints to the police. The June demonstrations allegedly also attempted to incite violence against Jews and Israeli security forces.
"We will not stand idly by while Israeli citizens incite to murder other citizens," said Im Tirtzu's Arab Desk. "Inciting to murder Jews and IDF soldiers cannot be taken lightly, and the authorities should demand the maximum punishment for this criminal. Im Tirtzu's Arab Desk will continue to monitor and report on these inciting protests and ensure that they do not go under the radar."
When the group met again Saturday, Israel Police were on standby and arrested the demonstration's front man for incitement.
In response to the arrest, Im Tirtzu's Technion branch coordinator Ofek Dvir added that the group is "pleased that the police responded to our complaint and arrested this man who called to harm Israeli citizens. Every citizen needs to know that inciting against our citizens and soldiers is a line that cannot be crossed."

[AlAhram] Militant group the Arakan Army (AA) has for nearly two years been locked in battle against the military, fighting for more autonomy for the state's ethnic Rakhine population
An gang in Myanmar's troubled Rakhine state confirmed Monday it had taken three election candidates of Aung San Suu Kyi's ruling party prisoner ahead of a November election already marred by mass disenfranchisement.
Both sides stand accused of rights abuses, with hundreds killed or injured and some 200,000 forced to flee their homes in an area under a strict lockdown that makes independent reporting practically impossible.
With the election three weeks away, button men descended Wednesday on a campaign event for Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy (NLD) in Taunggok township in southern Rakhine, an area relatively unscathed by the violence.
Eyewitness and NLD supporter Thant Zin Phyo told AFP how he and around 10 other men and women had been beaten and called "traitors", before the button men left with candidates Min Aung, Ni Ni May Myint and Chit Chit Chaw.
After five days, the AA Monday posted a photo online of the trio next to NLD paraphernalia, confirming it had been behind the abduction and accusing the NLD of "collaborating and covering up war crimes committed by the Myanmar Army".
The group added the prisoners would be released if the government freed all innocent people "arrested and detained unlawfully for demanding peace".
NLD front man Myo Nyunt told AFP the party was "deeply worried" about its missing comrades.
"We denounce and reject any act that can harm the free and fair election," he added.
- PARTY AND FLAG -
Suu Kyi's party is widely expected to be returned to power in the national polls -- only the second since the nation emerged from outright military rule.
But there are huge questions about the vote's credibility, particularly in Rakhine.
Virtually all Rohingya Moslems are disenfranchised, either languishing in refugee camps in Bangladesh or stripped of citizenship and rights in Myanmar.
On Friday, the election commission also announced that security concerns meant the vote would be cancelled across swathes of the country, including most of Rakhine.
Many in the state have long felt marginalised by the ethnic majority Bamar, fuelling support for the AA's insurgency.
Observers say the latest disenfranchisement is largely in ethnic Rakhine strongholds, thereby tilting the state's vote in favour of Suu Kyi's NLD -- and raising fears of more conflict and political violence.
"I think there could be a serious military response in Rakhine State," predicted Yangon-based analyst Mg Mg Soe, adding election candidates might now be too afraid to campaign.
But NLD stalwart Thant Zin Phyo told AFP the kidnappers would not frighten him into submission.

’s General Directorate of General Security on Sunday announced busting a network that was smuggling people to Spain via Beirut’s airport.
In a statement, the directorate said the network was smuggling Lebanese and Paleostinian nationals to the European country.
"Members of the network worked at various posts at Beirut airport, including the agent of a plane used for smuggling, the operations director of a ground services company and an employee at the private aviation building," the statement said.
"The network’s members were also involved in smuggling extra weight baggage via the planes serviced by the company," the statement added.
"During interrogation, they confessed to carrying out the smuggling operations and they have since been referred to the public prosecution at the request of the relevant judicial authorities."
Some of this kind of thing, of course, is the usual inshallah storage. But some of it will turn out to belong to Hizbollah and other jihadi groups with various affiliations, and those removals will make the entire country safer... for a while at least.
[AnNahar] A large quantity of fuel posing risk to public safety was seized Monday in the Beirut neighborhood of Tariq al-Jedideh, ten days after a gasoline tank explosion in the same area killed three people, injured over 50 and caused massive damage.
In a statement, Beirut Municipality said the quantity was seized after Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud called on all citizens residing or working in Beirut to report any flammable material stored in underground or lower floors of residential buildings.
Abboud had also tasked the Beirut Fire Brigade, Beirut’s municipal guards and a specialized department at Beirut Municipality with inspecting such warehouses and reporting any threat to public safety.
In Monday’s raid, 1,185 liters of gasoline and three barrels of kerosene were seized in an underground book depot in a Tariq al-Jedideh building opposite to the Makassed General Hospital.
"The aforementioned depot does not enjoy the least requirements of public safety and during inspection it turned out that its portable fire extinguishers were expired," the statement said.
"At the request of Governor Abboud, Fire Brigade and Beirut Guard crews confiscated the barrels and moved them to a safe location, averting a possible disaster among residential buildings and neighborhoods," the statement added.
