Chotpoti vendor arrested for raping minor

[Dhaka Tribune] A ten-year-old child has been raped reportedly by a chotpoti (lentil curry) vendor in Kaliganj, Gazipur.

Accused Mojibur Rahman, a father of five, was arrested on Sunday evening, confirmed Kaliganj police OC AKM Mizanul Haque.

According to the case statement, Mojibur tricked the third grade girl into his shop on Saturday, when she came to buy snacks that evening. He then raped the child multiple times that night and left the injured child in the Noapara Bazar area on Sunday morning.

"We came to know about the incident when the family took her to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Legal proceedings are ongoing," said the OC.
