'Twas DC and nobody freaky
Was stirring, not even a squeaky.
Whoremongering geezers
And gold-digging skeezers
Were all sound asleep,
Save one nervous old creep
Who shrieked, "Jesus! These floors are sure creaky!"
[Breitbart] Interpol, a global organization linking the world’s law enforcement entities, warned in a report announced Tuesday that global terrorist organizations and "non-state actors" were attempting to take advantage of the chaos surrounding the Chinese coronavirus pandemic to become more influential.
Interpol noted that the full report was "for law enforcement use only," but in its statement on the report’s completion asserted that the organization had reason to be concerned about the benefits the pandemic may have created for terrorist organizations.
"Early in the pandemic, certain terrorist groups and other NSAs [non-state actors] used the pandemic to reinforce their power and influence, particularly among local populations, or to expand their external financial resources," Interpol warned. "The report also highlights how the impact of COVID-19 [Chinese coronavirus] on the global economy is likely to indirectly affect funding available to terrorist organizations."
Interpol stated its report also found reason to believe extreme lockdown measures implemented to prevent the spread of the virus could aid terrorist organizations by triggering "civil unrest."
"As COVID-19 cases subside in some regions and surge in others, the report underlines the critical need to monitor the reaction and response by terrorist networks, violent extremist groups, and other potentially dangerous NSAs," Interpol noted.
The Interpol public release on the report bizarrely identified "far-right supporters" in the West as a major cause of concern regarding terrorism exacerbated by the pandemic.
[KhaamaPress] Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, said on Wednesday at 6:30 am meeting that the root cause of the increase in explosions and suicides in Kabul and other provinces is the smuggled exports of 15,000 to 20,000 tons of ammonium nitrate from Pakistain,
Goodness. That seems rather a lot...
the chemical material that plays a key role in making improvised bombs.
Saleh claimed that the explosives have been smuggled by Pakistain to the Afghan Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... in 2020 and that each ton can make up to 50 bombs.
That’s 750,000 - 1,000,000 IEDs, if I tapped the right keys on the calculator app. They must be hip deep in the things — thunderstorms must be completely overwhelmed by secondary explosions. Because of course they won’t be evenly distributed across Afghanistan’s 252,000 square miles at a rate of 4 IEDs per square mile.
According to Saleh, improvised bombs use fewer industrial kabooms, and its exports are sourced to Pakistain.
He said that most of the explosives are made of ammonium nitrate, a chemical fertilizer that has been banned in Afghanistan for decades.
"In our negotiations with the Paks, we have repeatedly mentioned the ban on the export of these materials to Afghanistan," Saleh said.
This comes in a time that the earth-shattering kaboom of magnetic mines and suicide kabooms in Kabul and other provinces of the country has escalated.

[Jpost] Captagon is popular in the Middle East, and widespread in war-torn areas such as Syria, where conflict has fueled demand and created opportunities for producers.
Italia's financial crimes unit detailed a large-scale drug trade believed to be originating out of Syria, according to an exclusive BBC report.
During the summer, the Italian authorities said they had seized about 14 tonnes of amphetamine - 84 million pills - of the drug Captagon worth around $1 billion arriving from Syria, in what they described as the world’s single largest operation of its kind.

KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) — A provincial court in Pakistan on Thursday ordered the release of a British-born Pakistani man charged in the 2002 murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl.
The Sindh High Court’s release order overturns government detention orders that Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh,
... a busy lad, the brilliant, violent Pakistani-Brit hooked up with the jihadi crowd at the London School of Economics, dropping out to join the jihadis in Bosnia — reportedly on orders from MI-6. After a break to run Al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan, he was jailed in India in 1994 for kidnapping four Western tourists in Kashmir on orders from Pakistan’s ISI. In 1999 Saeed Sheikh and two leaders of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen were traded for 155 passengers and crew of a hijacked Indian Airlines flight diverted to Kandahar, after which he wandered down to his Al Qaeda buddies in Pakistan...
the key suspect in Pearl’s slaying, should remain in custody. Sheikh was acquitted earlier this year of murdering Pearl, but has been held while Pearl’s family appeals the acquittal.
"The detention order is struck down," said Faisal Siddiqi, the family’s lawyer. He said Sheikh would be freed until the appeal is completed, but would return to prison if the family is successful in overturning the acquittal.
However, Siddiqi said the Sindh provincial government is appealing the order to release Sheikh.
Sheikh’s lawyer Mehmood A. Sheikh, with whom he is not related, called for his client’s immediate release.

#1 Be a shame if something terrible happened to Mr. Sheikh.

I don't understand the acquittal ... this guy confessed to assisting KSM with the "slaughter" of Pearl. Maybe, just maybe, one day we will be able to convict KSM of the murder and martyr him. If the military commissions actually have trials.
Pakistan -- Pearl was Jewish. They don't really think any crime was committed.

I don't understand the acquittal
Pakistan wants to reward him for the work, but America keeps noticing. He’s gone through several rounds of this, as revealed by a quick search of Rantburg’s archives, which I’ve added to the article.

Pakistan did arrest him though...and KSM et al...back in the day.
But today is a new day and this is what we get for not having a truly functional military commissions system to try him as a war criminal. So I blame us for relying on other countries beyond the initial detention.
[IsraelTimes] Troops clash with Paleostinians while raiding West Bank home of Ahmad Abu al-Rabb, who was rubbed out after firing at cops near Temple Mount.
Israeli troops early Wednesday arrested a suspected accomplice of a Paleostinian gunman who shot at coppers in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The arrest came as soldiers raided the home of Ahmad Abu al-Rabb in the northern West Bank village of Qabatiya. al-Rabb, 17, was rubbed out by police after he opened fire Monday at officers stationed near an entrance to the Temple Mount. No cops were hit by the gunfire.
An Israel Defense Forces statement said troops also seized weaponry during the raid. No details were provided about the suspect who was arrested or his alleged involvement in the attempted attack.
The military said dozens of Paleostinians rioted in Qabatiya, blocking a road and throwing Molotov cocktails. It also said gunfire was heard in the area.
Soldiers responded with riot dispersal means, according to the statement.
The IDF said Tuesday that it was sending reinforcements to the West Bank and halting home leave for troops attached to the regional division. The soldiers will be tasked with guarding settlements and roads, the military said.
The move came after Esther Horgen, a 52-year-old mother of six, was killed late Sunday in a northern West Bank forest, after she went for a run near her home in the Tal Menashe settlement. Security forces were increasingly convinced that her death was a terror attack committed by a Paleostinian assailant, officials said on Monday afternoon. No suspects have been apprehended.
