Soldier in Augusta comes home early, kills burglar
a nice cockle-warming story, ht to Instapundit
A man who police said broke into a U.S. Army officer's south Augusta house to steal guns was fatally shot Wednesday by the soldier living there. Errol Lavar Royal, 29, of Augusta was pronounced dead at Medical College of Georgia Hospital at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. Augusta police said he resided with his parents near the burglarized home in the Pepperidge subdivision.

Capt. Barre Bollinger, an Iraq war veteran, told police he returned from work about 3:30 p.m. and found his house had been ransacked, said Richmond County sheriff's Investigator Thomas Johnson. Bollinger told police he entered his bedroom and noticed some of his guns were missing.

He grabbed his SKS rifle - a weapon similar to an AK-47 assault rifle - and called 911, Johnson said. "While on the phone with 911, he sees the suspect approaching his back door. Because he believes the man now is armed with his stolen weapons, Mr. Bollinger fires at him three times," Johnson said.

Royal was shot at least twice in the stomach area. A search of his residence produced two guns taken from Bollinger's house, the investigator said. The search also turned up some marijuana.

Neighbors told police that Bollinger, who is stationed at Fort Gordon, generally works from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but occasionally he returns home early. There were no plans to charge Bollinger in the shooting, police said.
Though it should noted that he apparently stored his firearms in an insecure way. A locked gun rack or gun box in the home is the way to go.

Prince Abdul Majeed Passes Away
Makkah Gov. Prince Abdul Majeed died in the United States yesterday following a prolonged illness, the Royal Court has announced. He was 64. Funeral prayers will be held at Imam Turki ibn Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh after Asr prayers today, the announcement added. Abdul Majeed, who served as governor of both Madinah and Makkah regions during his three decades of public service, played a significant role in the expansion of the Two Holy Mosques initiated by King Fahd. During his tenure, the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah witnessed unprecedented development.
Prince Majeed presided over much of the destruction of historically and/or archeologically significant sites in the two holy cities. F'r example, Mo's Mom's house is now a McKuffar's parking lot, praise Allan.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah received at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh a number of princes, ministers, top officials and a large number of citizens who came to convey their condolences on the prince’s death. Crown Prince Sultan, Prince Abdul Rahman, deputy minister of defense and aviation, and other senior princes were also present.

Azeris jailed for 'insulting Islam'
A court in Azerbaijan has jailed two journalists for writing and printing a newspaper article that was critical of the Islamic religion and its founder, Muhammad. Samir Sadagatoglu, chief editor of the Senet weekly newspaper, was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday, while Rafik Tagi, a journalist at the paper, was given three years. The court ruled that their article 'Europe and us' was insulting to Islam and Muslims for saying that European societies were more successful than Muslim ones because Christian teachings were based on peace and tolerance while Islamic values, based on the teachings and actions of Muhammad, were not.

"It was announced during sentencing that ... the article contained ideas charged with hatred for Islam and the Prophet Mohammad and these actions of the paper were directed towards inciting religious hatred and enmity," the court's spokesman said after the guilty verdict was announced.

The newspaper article provoked widespread anger in Azerbaijan, a secular but predominantly Shia Muslim country, and elsewhere in the region when it was first published on November 9, 2006. Soon after the article appeared, an Iranian cleric - angered by its depiction of Islam as a violent religion - offered his house to anyone who killed the journalists, Reuters reported on Friday.

#3  Simplifying terms like 'Muslim' dangerous

Perish the thought that people might be plainspoken or freed from the ravages of obsfucatory Islamic dawa. Over five years ago Muslims had their golden opportunity to clarify exactly what was and was not authentic Islam. Amidst their deafening silence the West has been obliged to grope its was through the maze of Islamic distortion and lies towards some definition of what confronts us.

While Islam may not be monolithic in a doctrinal sense, what has become increasingly apparent is that the vast majority of this world's Muslim population have absolutely no qualms about the violent imposition of global sharia law. This one single aspect of Muslim orthopraxy renders moot all other speculation about diversity of intent. Sharia is so inimcal to human dignity and modern civilization that its advocacy must — for reasons of self-preservation alone — be construed as promoting terrorism.

Until Islam abandons its violent pursuit of world domination, it must be constrained and curtailed at every turn. Ensuring the safety of several hundred years' worth of progress relies upon our collective will to wholly exterminate Islam if necessary. Whatever measures are required to protect and preserve our hard won liberties must be embraced without hesitation. To delay will only yield even greater death tolls among Muslims and the West as well.

Mayo Hospital Samjhota victims’ TV taken away
Talibanization in Lahore's largest and most modern hospital complex
LAHORE: Mayo Hospital administration took back a television donated to Samjhota Express victims on request of the donor who alleged they were watching obscene Indian movies and songs, Mayo Hospital Burn Unit Dr Fareed told Daily Times on Saturday. He said that the patients were disturbing the atmosphere of the ward and disturbing others recovering in the ward. He said that the Samjhota Express patients had recovered. Dr Fareed said the hospital was running out of space and needed more beds to accommodate new patients. Dr Fareed said those injured in the Samjhota Express explosion had been “excessively pampered” by hospital staffers and that it was their time to be discharged.

Zeeshan, brother of a 12-years-old burnt victim told Daily Times that a person in a lab coat visited their ward along with some nurses and started verbally abusing him and his brother. He said they were blamed for turning the ward into a restaurant and feeding the media a sob story. He further mentioned that the unknown hospital employees took away the TV set they were given by a philanthropist, saying that the ward in-charge Dr Fareed has instructed to keep the TV away for ruining the atmosphere of the ward with their films and dancing. Zeeshan said that Dr Yasir was leading the other men and ordered to throw them out of the ward if they did not leave the hospital within three hours.

However, Punjab Health Secretary Syed Raees Abbass Zaidi told Daily Times that the government has not issued any such orders and that he would speak hospital Medical Superintendent regarding the issue. He said that the Samjhota Express victims had every right to get the medical treatment up to their satisfaction and no one could force them to leave the hospital.
