AN Afghan asylum seeker was caged for eight years today for the horrific gang rape of a woman who was kidnapped off the street. Evil Ahadullah Khughiani, 20, was one of five men who took turns to have sex with their helpless victim in a city park.
The monster LAUGHED and SANG in court while the traumatised 25-year-old woman relived her terrifying ordeal.
She was abducted as she walked to a takeaway near her home in Bristol one afternoon and forced into the back of a car. It was dark by the time the mob had driven her three miles to a deserted park where she was dragged by her legs across the muddy ground to a football pitch.
The woman told a jury how Khughiani -- then aged 18 -- "laughed and joked" with the others as they repeatedly raped her.
He was convicted of the attack after DNA found on the victim matched samples he gave when he arrived in Britain seeking asylum just months earlier in 2008.
Khughiani also stole the woman's mobile phone but a jury cleared him of kidnap during his trial in December.
The Recorder of Bristol, His Hon Judge Neil Ford, sentenced him to eight years in a young offenders institute with an additional month for the phone theft. He also ordered his deportation from Britain as soon as he is released.
The judge told Bristol Crown Court: "She was held down while a number of you took it in turns to have sex with her against her will. I am satisfied that she had been abducted from the street although on the jury's verdict I do not find that you played any part in that abduction.
"But you knew full well how it was that she was in the car and how she came to be transported to the park."
Prosecutor James Patrick said the victim later became pregnant by her long-term partner but suffered a miscarriage at eight months due to the trauma of the attack and court case.
The judge told Khughiani: "The effect of your offence upon that young woman has understandably been significant. She has been depressed and lost confidence and she is subject to anxiety attacks. It is my view that the anxiety of the attack contributed to the loss of her child.
"Throughout the proceedings you have shown yourself to be manipulative and uncooperative. You will serve one half of that term before you are released, and if you are not deported thereafter you will be subject to licence for the balance of that term."
Khughiani, who is on benefits, denied rape but admitted having sex with a prostitute a few days earlier and paying £10.
His victim picked him out in an ID parade as one of the five rapists. The other four men are still being hunted.
Defending, William Eaglestine said Khughiani had no previous convictions and added: "He is bound to have a deportation order made to take him back to Afghanistan which will have a profound effect on him."
He said his singing and laughing as his victim gave evidence raised concerns over his mental health.
Outside court Detective Inspector Will White of Avon and Somerset police said: "This was an extremely rare incident. We don't want the public to be unduly fearful because of this one incident."

[Iran Press TV Latest] A 6.5-magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of northern California, the US Geological Survey has said.
The quake occurred on Saturday, 22 miles (35 kilometers) west of Ferndale and 224 miles (360 kilometers) northwest of Sacramento, at a depth of nine miles (16 kilometers), AFP reported.
Local media said police in Ferndale reported some damage to the city hall building but gave no initial reports of injuries.
The temblor hit at 4:27 pm local time (0027 GMT) and was followed by a series of three aftershocks measuring 3.5, 3.7, and 3.8 on the open-ended Moment Magnitude Scale.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the initial jolt was felt as far away as San Francisco.
Unlike Iran, where that level of quake destroys entire villages, leaving the inhabitants buried in the collapsed buildings, in California there was only minor damage to a public building and a few bumps and bruises not worth fussing about. Which does Allah prefer, based on the evidence?

SOUTH African police caught more than they expected in a Cape Town drug raid when a strap-on dildo fell off a suspected crime lord during a search, the Sunday Times reported.
Fat Murphy, feared on the streets of Cape Town's notorious Cape Flats suburb, told a court that he is a hermaphrodite who holds male and female identity documents - one under the name Fadwaan, the other under Hilary.
Police and a tearful Murphy recounted the saga during a bail hearing for Murphy's charges of possession of stolen property, which come on top of earlier charges of kidnapping and intimidation, the paper said.
"I had a vagina that could not be penetrated. But I also had male organs, testes. But I always knew I was really a man and that was what I wanted to be," he told the court, according to the newspaper.
"God created me with both sexual organs. It was God's decision, not mine."
Murphy has been married twice - his second wife's name is tattooed on his arm. He said received his male identity documents after undergoing surgery to remove his female organs when he was in his teens, the paper said.
Police say Murphy offered them 9,100 rand ($1300) not to search him during the raid.
Police said they were investigating how Murphy obtained his male identity documents, saying they found no records of him undergoing sex change surgery.

[Al Arabiya Latest] Togo's national soccer team is pulling out of the African Nations Cup competition after an attack on the team bus which killed three people, the country's territorial administration minister said on Saturday.
"The Togolese government has decided to call back the team. We could not continue the African Nations Cup in this dramatic situation," Pascal Bodjona said in a statement released in the capital Lome.
"This was necessary because our players are in a state of shock and because we do not think the security which should have been placed around our players is giving the necessary guarantees," he added.
Three people were killed in Friday's attack on Togo's team buses in the Angolan enclave of Cabinda, the assistant coach and the squad spokesman, an official of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said Saturday.

The body of Hugo Hernandez, 36, was left on the streets of Los Mochis in seven pieces as a chilling threat to members of the Juarez drug cartel. A note read: "Happy New Year, because this will be your last."
To drive home the point, the assailants skinned Hernandez's face and stitched it onto a soccer ball.
The find, confirmed Friday by Sinaloa state prosecutors, represents a new level of brutality in Mexico's drug war, in which torture and beheadings are almost daily occurrences.
Hernandez was taken to Sinaloa after being kidnapped Jan. 2 in neighboring Sonora state, said Martin Robles, a spokesman for Sinaloa prosecutors. The motive for his abduction was unclear.
His torso was found in a plastic container in one location; elsewhere another box contained his arms, legs and skull, Robles said. The ball was left near City Hall.

You have to give them a technical award for this, however, if you consider the degree of difficulty involved in stitching a face to a soccer ball. Ordinary glue would have been sufficient, but stitching to a ball isn't easy.

Kurita, 32, was using a Deps Sidewinder rod and a Shimano Antares DC7LV reel loaded with 25-pound-test Toray line when he pitched his bait, a live bluegill, next to a bridge piling. It was Kurita's first cast to the piling where he had seen a big bass swimming. He twitched the bait a couple of times before he got a bit. After a short, three-minute fight, he had the fish in the boat.
Kurita was quoted as saying "I knew it was big, but I didn't know it was that big."
When measured, the fish had a fork length of 27.2 inches and a girth of 26.7 inches. The IGFA has line classes up to only 20 pounds for largemouth bass, so Kurita had no chance at a line class record as well.
The 70-year-old non-profit fisheries conservation, education and record-keeping body received Kurita's application and documentation on Sept. 19, 2009.
IGFA rules for fish caught outside the U.S. allows anglers 90 days to submit their applications from the date of their catch. The documentation was received through the IGFA's sister association, the Japan Game Fish Association. IGFA conservation director Jason Schratwieser said Kurita's application was meticulously documented with the necessary photos and video.
"The moment Kurita weighed his fish, word spread like wildfire," Schratwieser said. "We knew this would be significant, so we immediately contacted the JGFA for more information. Established in 1979, the JGFA compiles and translates all record applications of fish caught in Japan before forwarding to the IGFA.
"It works out well, because they not only translate applications but can also contact the angler if more documentation is needed," Schratwieser added.

A Type Ia does put out more high-energy radiation than a Type II supernova, which is caused when a massive star's core collapses and the outer layers are ejected. That's what most people think of when they hear about a supernova. Those have to be really close to hurt us, certainly closer than 25 light years. But even with their added power, a Type Ia just doesn't have the oomph needed to destroy our ozone layer (as the press release indicates) from 3300 light years away. It would have to be far closer than that.
