Dude, Willie Nelson, like, changed his presidential endorsement. Bummer!
Dave Weigel, Slate

...The co-founder of Nelson's Teapot Party explains:
"Heh heh. Hear that, Beavis? He said 'pot!'"
Two days later, I received the following email from Nelson about Johnson: “I think we should endorse him.” I informed Johnson’s campaign and they happily provided an “acceptance” quote from the Governor: ... Yesterday, both the Teapot Party and Gary Johnson 2012 sent out press releases announcing the endorsement. The media immediately jumped on it, with Politico, Fox and Raw Story leading the coverage. We were on a roll.
"Speaking of 'rolls,' where are the Hostess Ho-Hos? I got the munchies."
But not so fast. I sent the press release and coverage links to Nelson. His response took me by surprise: “My position is it too early for me to endorse anyone. And I think every one should vote their own conscience.” I wrote back reminding him that he had approved the endorsement.
"Dude! You, like, promised!"
“I know I said that,” Nelson replied. “But I think I will wait and see where he stands on other things. My bad. Sorry. I still think he is a good guy but so is Dennis [Kucinich] and if he decided to run I would personally vote for him. If it came down to either him or Gary I’m already committed to Dennis. They both have said they support legal pot.”

Via Nat Brown at National Review's Media Blog, who snarks:

...isn’t it to be expected that short-term memory loss might be a problem for Nelson’s “Teapot Party” and some of those marijuana single-issue voters out there?

Senate rejects GOP bill to expand, speed up offshore drilling
The Senate on Wednesday rejected Republican-backed legislation intended to speed up and expand offshore oil and gas drilling.

In a 42-57 vote, the Senate failed to move forward with the bill, which was opposed by the White House and most Senate Democrats. Republicans needed 60 votes for the measure to proceed.

Every Senate Democrat voted against the motion to proceed along with five Republicans: Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Mike Lee (Utah), Richard Shelby (Ala.), Olympia Snowe
...senior United States Senator-for-Life from Maine, putatively a member of the Republican Party. In 2006 she was named one of America's Top Ten Senators by Time Magazine, for what that's worth...
(Maine) and David Vitter (La.).
Those five Republicans need to be primaried.

#1  With Demint, it must have been something stupid on the bill. Find out tomorrow

#3  The Obama butt kissers have this tingle (or something) running down their legs ever time Obama kills American jobs, increases inflation, and then tells Brazil, China, etc. "drill, drill, drill baby!"

#4  There must have been something else in that bill that was deadly to the oil companies for Vitter to vote against it. DeMint wants us to drill everywhere but off the Atlantic coast. Snowe is just being Snowe - half a brain and a huge mouth.
