Taliban attacks Afghan parliament, all six militants killed
A coordinated Taliban attack on the Afghan parliament has ended with all six gunmen killed, according to the interior ministry.

Attackers detonated a massive car bomb outside the gates, stormed the compound, then entered a building next to the chamber. Security forces evacuated the premises, while trying to fight the gunmen off.

The Taliban say they carried out the attack to coincide with a vote to endorse a new defense minister.

Interior ministry spokesman Sediq Seddiqi said the gunmen had tried to storm the parliament building itself after the gates were breached by the suicide bomb. They were fought off and entered a building under construction next to parliament. MPs were hit with broken glass, and the chamber filled with smoke as the fighting continued. It was nearly an hour before all the firing stopped.

At least 18 people are reported to have been injured. Mr Seddiqi said no MP had been wounded

Bomb kills 14 members of Afghan family
[DAWN] KANDAHAR: A roadside kaboom killed at least 14 members of an Afghan family, including women and kiddies, in the country's volatile south on Saturday, officials said, in the first major attack in Ramazan.

No group immediately grabbed credit for the attack in the Marja district of Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province, a stronghold of Talibs.

The bandidos snuffies had recently rebuffed requests from Afghan holy mans to halt attacks during Ramazan even as a surge in violence has sent civilian casualties soaring.

"Fourteen non-combatants were killed and five others maimed in an IED (improvised bomb) blast in Marja district of Helmand province. All of them were from the same family," Helmand deputy provincial governor Mohammad Jan Rasolyar said.

Helmand police chief Nabi Jan Mullah Khel claimed a higher toll, saying 16 civilians, including women and kiddies, were killed while three other civilians were maimed.

Haji Fateh Mohammad, a tribal elder from the region, said he counted 15 bodies as he helped retrieve them from the twisted remains of the vehicle.

Marja district of Helmand province was the focus of a major US-led military offensive designed to clear out the turban group in early 2010.

Six policemen martyred in militant attack in Ghazni
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Six coppers have embraced martyrdom in a myrmidon attack in Ghazni province.

Local officials say armed bandidos bandidos bully boys carried out a coordinated attack at a security check post in Qara Bagh District last night.

Shafiq Nang Safai, front man for the acting governor of Ghazni province say that bandidos bully boys first carried out a boom-mobile suicide kaboom in front of the security check post.

He said other bandidos bandidos bully boys started to exchange fire with security forces of the check point.

Safai added that 10 bandidos bandidos bully boys were killed in the clash. Six soldiers also embraced martyrdom and two others maimed in the attack.

Talibs have intensified their attacks on government forces after announcing their "spring offensive" in April.

Security Forces Re-Take Yamgan After Three-Week Battle
[Tolo News] Afghan cops regained control of Yamgan district in north-eastern Badakhshan province early Sunday after a three-week long battle with Taliban Death Eaters. In that time, at least 40 Taliban bandidos Death Eaters and eight coppers were killed, local officials said.

In addition, more than 50 bandidos Death Eaters and five coppers were maimed.

The military operation was accelerated on Saturday when reinforcement troops were deployed to re-take control of the district, acting governor of Badakhshan, Shah Waliullah Adib said.

"Forty bandidos Death Eaters were killed and more than 50 others injured in the past few days in festivities. Foreign bandidos Death Eaters were also among the dead," he said.

Operation Underway to Retake Chahar Dara in Kunduz
[Tolo News] Security forces have launched a joint operation to retake the Chahar Dara district of northern Kunduz, which fell into the hands of the Taliban on Saturday evening, officials said Sunday.

Dozens of armed bandidos krazed killers stormed the district on Saturday, killing 12 soldiers and injuring 16 others, according to initial reports by provincial council members.

"About 70 other soldiers are surrounded by Taliban bandidos krazed killers and festivities still continue in the city. The bandidos krazed killers are moving forward after taking control of Chahar Dara," head of the Provincial Council in Kunduz, Mohammad Yousuf Ayoubi said earlier in the day.

But the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) officials told TOLOnews that a massive joint operation has been launched to retake control of Chahar Dara, which is only four kilometers away from the picturesque provincial capital.

"The operation has been launched to retake control of Chahar Dara," MoI front man Sediq Sediqqi said.

But the governor of Kunduz, Mohammad Omar Safi, said security forces were making advances on krazed killer strongholds.

"The forces have moved forward about 800 meters. We are trying to launch attacks from different angles and we hope to retake the district in one or two days," Safi said.

But Ministry of Defense (MoD) officials blame Kunduz insecurity on regional military agencies. According to officials, some regional spy agencies are providing forces of Evil with arms and ammunition.

The attack began with suicide bomber cruising through the base, but reports claim that all Al Shabaab fighters who triggered a gun-battle with security forces were killed. The pre-planned dawn assault marks the fourth since the beginning of Ramadan.

Arabia
Wikileaks publishes over 60,000 Saudi diplomatic cables
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] WikiLeaks is in the process of publishing more than 500,000 Saudi diplomatic documents to the Internet, the transparency website said Friday, a move that echoes its famous release of US State Department cables in 2010, AP reported.

WikiLeaks said in a statement that it has already posted roughly 60,000 files. Most of them appear to be in Arabic.

There was no immediate way to verify the authenticity of the documents, although WikiLeaks has a long track record of hosting large-scale leaks of government material. Many of the documents carried green letterhead marked "Kingdom of Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
" or "Ministry of Foreign Affairs." Some were marked "urgent" or "classified." At least one appeared to be from the Saudi Embassy in Washington.

If genuine, the documents would offer a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the notoriously opaque kingdom. They might also shed light on Riyadh's longstanding regional rivalry with Iran, its support for Syrian rebels and Egypt's military-backed government, and its opposition to an emerging international agreement on Tehran's nuclear program, AP said.

One of the documents, dated to 2012, appears to highlight Saudi Arabia's well-known skepticism about the Iranian nuclear talks. A message from the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Tehran to the Foreign Ministry in Riyadh describes "flirting American messages" being carried to Iran via an unnamed Turkish mediator.

Another 2012 missive, this time sent from the Saudi Embassy in Abu Dhabi, said the United Arab Emirates was putting "heavy pressure" on the Egyptian government not to try former president Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
, who had been tossed in a popular uprising the year before.

According to AP, It is not clear how WikiLeaks got the documents, although in its statement the website referred to a recent electronic attack on the Saudi Foreign Ministry by a group calling itself the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
Cyber Army. Hrafnsson declined to elaborate on the statement or say whether the hackers subsequently passed documents on to WikiLeaks.

"As a matter of policy we're not going to discuss the source of the material," he said. In its statement, WikiLeaks said the release coincided with the three-year anniversary of its founder, Julian Assange, who sought asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. Zaman al-Wasl will publish all cabels related toi the Syrian conflict.

Websites blocked after videos by Tajik commander now fighting for IS
[RFE/RL] Social networks including Facebook, YouTube, and Odnoklassniki are no longer accessible in Tajikistan following the release of a second video showing a former commander of Tajik special police forces who has defected to the Islamic State. Interior Ministry forces (OMON) commander Gulmurod Halimov's disappearance in April to join IS has been a major embarrassment for Tajikistan.

Tajik media reported that Internet users were not able to open the websites from midday on June 18, hours after a video in which Halimov issues threats to "infidels," Russia, and the United States was posted online. In the clip, Halimov and other armed men sitting in front of an IS-style flag attempt to dispel rumors that he has gone to Syria on a mission to kill a high-profile Tajik militant, Nusrat Nazarov.

Nazarov, who goes by several other aliases, including Abu Kholidi Kulobi and Furqon Falastin, is a Tajik man who has appeared in several IS videos claiming to be the leader of Tajik fighters in Raqqa. Tajik media reported that Nazarov was killed recently in Syria.

In the video, Halimov does not mention Nazarov's death but says he "will remain a brother to Furqon forever."

Halimov says he uses his weapon only to kill infidels, "If my own older brother or younger brother became an infidel, I would cut off his head. I would kill him if he fought against us."

In his first IS video, Halimov claimed he joined the militants to protest Tajik government restrictions on religious observance, such as its crackdown on Islamic garb and limitations on mosque prayers. Wielding a gun, Halimov also threatened to bring holy war to Russia and the United States.

Popular social networks were blocked for days in Tajikistan after that first video appeared.

Asomuddin Atoev, the chairman of Tajikistan's Association of Internet Service Providers, said that access to the sites had been blocked by some ISPs based on verbal instructions from the State Communications Service. He said the order was based on coverage of the Halimov defection.

Nusra Front frees 8 Kurds in Syria, more than 50 still held
[Rudaw] Eight Kurds held prisoner by the al-Qaeda affiliated Nusra Front in Syria were released Sunday after three weeks in captivity, the mediator who brokered the release told Rudaw Sunday.
How much did that cost in ransoms?
Rezan Hado, a Kurdish writer and mediator, said that the eight were held together with 52 other Kurds who have yet to be freed.

"The Nusra Front released eight of the 60 detainees on Sunday who had been kidnapped by the group in Idlib province in May," Hado said.

The Kurds had been captured on the main Afrin-Halab road in retaliation for the capture of a brother of a senior Nusra Front leader, according to Hado.

He said that in early June, the gunnies freed another group of Kurdish detainees in the Syrian city of Baniyas.
