[DAILYSIGNAL] In Dothan, Ala., the verdict is in: it was election fraud.
Last week, a jury convicted 66-year-old Olivia Reynolds on 24 felony counts of absentee ballot fraud in the contested 2013 election for the Dothan City Commission. Reynolds worked on the re-election campaign for District 2 incumbent Amos Newsome. During the tainted 2013 election, she forged and altered enough absentee ballots to guarantee victory for her boss and boyfriend.
In 2013, Newsome narrowly won reelection to his office, besting challenger Lamesa Danzey by a scant 14 votes.
However, a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth... after Danzey identified at least 37 absentee ballots that she claimed were illegally cast, the Houston County Sheriff began investigating irregularities in the District 2 race. Danzey, it turned out, had won the in-person vote by a hundred votes, 343-243. But Newsome had carried a whopping 96% of the absentee vote, winning 119 of the 124 ballots cast by mail. That was enough to tip the scales in the incumbent's favor -- and to raise the eyebrows of Sherlocks given how much the margin of absentee ballots cast for Newsome differed from the margin of votes cast for him on Election Day.
The Sheriff's investigation culminated in the arrest of Reynolds and three others. Three of the four have now been convicted in what appears to have been an organized conspiracy to deny the citizens of Dothan their right to free and fair elections.

Since there is no mention of party affiliation I assume he's a democrat?
[Daily Caller] President Obama announced a new executive order on Tuesday which authorizes federal agencies to conduct behavioral experiments on U.S. citizens in order to advance government initiatives.
"A growing body of evidence demonstrates that behavioral science insights -- research findings from fields such as behavioral economics and psychology about how people make decisions and act on them -- can be used to design government policies to better serve the American people," reads the executive order, released on Tuesday.
The new program is the end result of a policy proposal the White House floated in 2013 entitled "Strengthening Federal Capacity for Behavioral Insights."

This is most likely a reaction to figure out why so few people signed up for Obamacare. If they dig deep enough they might find the root of the problem was Leftist lied about the size of the original problem.

I found something under 'money' which is usually a good place to start:
* Increasing tax compliance: Sending letters to late taxpayers that indicated a social norm –i.e., that “9 out of 10 people in Britain paid their taxes on time” – resulted in a 15 percentage point increase in response rates over a three-month period, rolling out to £30 million of extra annual revenue.

Wait. I thought the whole thing was aversion therapy...

US Elected by the people President Barack Hussein Obama and appointed Commander In Chief Susan Rice of the defeated United States transvestite, breast feeding, anti-Christian US military that was ordered to retreat from Iraq whose military equipment left behind while obeying drop and run orders was confiscated by ISIS and now defeated in Syria by Al Qaeda (al Nuesra) with Assads Russian allies pouring in to fill the vacuum now must gain total control of the US population who were defeated in 2008 when they handed Hussein the scepter of power and the keys to the Oval Office door.
While the President of the US Hussein importing of 250,000 Mohammedans into the us annually to complete increase state side terrorist activities of Allah within the walls of a now borderless nation, while traditional Americans sit on their asses and fume about on their blogs being careful not to offend having been PC whipped into shape by the Godless, suicidal liberal left.

It's called Nudge Theory, and has been a thing in public policy discussions since 2008. The Obama circle, connected to academia as they always have been, has been keen on it from the very beginning as a way of guiding individual behaviour in what they consider to be desirable directions on a whole host of issues, Besoeker's link being just one.
For a lot of things, it's in how a choice or range of choices is presented. For instance, the possibility of organ donation on a driver's licence renewal form, which is required by law -- is it presented as an opt in (check here to donate, which only those who care about such things will do) or opt out (check here if you do not want to donate, which many who are not interested in being broken up for parts for the benefit of strangers when they die will not bother to read, leading to an increased number of available parts in the future).
All very scientifically paternalistic and, they will assure you indignantly, not totalitarian in the least. After all, the choice not to do the desired thing is still there.

If OFumble continued much longer or Hillary should get elected, one might see "nudge theory" or more like "cudgel theory" applied in a reverse direction. TW, the people in "fly-over" land are getting a bit desperate and fed up with these Washington/academic/left coast elites. I've said it before: "The veneer of civilization is thin."

I don't disagree, JohnQC. I find this kind of management highly objectionable. Besoeker did well posting this article and his follow-up link on one application, increasing tax compliance in Britain.
On this side of the pond, nudges are getting more heavy handed. I saw the following on Drudge just now:
Mass Murders in the total annihilation of the World Trade Center towers to Islam, the loss of major loss of American lives in Iraq and the resulting capitulation to ISIS, the loss of the Oval Office to a man by the name of Hussien who said America will respect Islam. Mass murder at the Boston Marathon, Mass Murder at our bases within the US.
Your watering down of your speech, your ignoring of the terror is rampant throughout the peoples of the West.

The only major power who is positioning itself against the onslaught of Islam is Russia. The only leader attempting to militarize against Islam which is ISIS, Al-Nuesra, and Turkey is Putin.

Join the wellness program or lose weight and improve cholesterol numbers on your own, or your cost for health insurance will go up by $50/month.
My Company offered $25/mo. off for filling out the wellness questionnaire. So far, I have not been threatened with higher premiums for failure to do something. I guess it is two sides of the same coin.

Seems to me this is simply the government not understanding why their take all your money and redistribute it policies are so disliked by so many and hoping to find ways to sell the policies better.

Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
