[RADIOSHABELLE] Kenyan Police have issued a security alert over possible attacks in the country by Somalia based terror group, al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... , during the Ramadhan season.
In a statement, director of communications for the Nation Police Service Charles Owino, on Tuesday said security agencies have obtained credible intelligence suggesting that al-Shabaab is planning to carry out attacks in various parts of the country during the holy month set to begin May 15.
Police asked Kenyans to be extra vigilant especially in populated public places such as hotels, church, bus stages and schools.
"Though the capability of al-Shabaab has been greatly downgraded over time, we have credible intelligence suggesting that the militia group is planning to carry out further attacks in the country," said Mr Owino.
"The group has in the past planned to carry out attacks during Ramadan especially along the Coastal and Eastern regions and in major towns across the country. We are therefore urging members of the public to remain on high alert and be extra vigilant," he added.

[AlAhram] Egypt’s Supreme State Security revealed a number of details in a case against accused members of the Wilayat Sinai (the Province of Sinai) terrorist group on Wednesday, including that some suspects had received training from ISIS in Syria and Iraq in the use of weapons and explosives.
On Monday, Egypt’s Prosecutor-General Nabil Sadek referred 555 suspected members of the terrorist organization to military court on charges of forming 43 terrorist cells, carrying out or providing support for 63 terrorist attacks against civilians and security forces, disseminating ISIS propaganda and plotting further attacks around the country.
Wilayat Sinai is the self-proclaimed name of the terrorist group formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, which declared allegiance to ISIS in November 2014.
The primary suspect in the case, Ali Salman Ali Salem al-Derz, is accused of tasking a number of cadres with spreading ISIS's ideology in North Sinai. The group accuses the head of state, members of the army and Christians of being infidels.
The prosecution also accused Tarek El-Zomor, a prominent Egyptian leader of al-Jamaa al-Islamiya ...The Islamic Group. Sunni Islamist alignment in Lebanon. The group was founded in 1952 as the Leb branch of the Moslem Brüderbund. Its current leader is Faisal Mawlawi. The party has a military wing known as the al-Fajr Forces. Currently they have 1 seat in the Lebanese Parliament... who resides in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... , of having a leading role in the Wilayat Sinai terrorist organization and providing financial assistance to the organization from abroad.
The terrorist organization is said to have divided North Sinai into six administrative sectors under a general commander known as al-Wali who is aided by three primary lieutenants responsible for military, administrative and financial affairs, respectively, the prosecution said.
Suspects in the case are also accused of staking out a number of civilian and political targets with the aim of carrying out attacks.
Among the intended targets were churches in Giza, Hurghada and Cairo's outskirts, as well as the interior ministry headquarters in Cairo and ships in the Suez Canal and Damietta port.
Members of terrorist cells affiliated with the organization are also accused of abducting and killing a number of civilians in North Sinai in retaliation for thier alleged cooperation with security officials in the area.
Some 88 suspects incarcerated Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! in the case gave detailed confessions on 63 terrorist attacks carried out in North Sinai, the prosecution said.
Several defendants are accused of providing material and logisitical support for attacks, including plotting to sabotage a gas pipeline between Port Said and Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai.
The prosecution said that according to confessions by 216 of the defendants, a number of suspects were involved in the killing of Central Security Captain Mahmoud El-Zamlout and army Lieutenant Mohammed Abdel-Razek in 2016, as well as the shooting of a total of 10 security personnel and targeting of armored vehicles, checkpoints and security locations with explosives and automatic weapons.
[All Africa] Communities in the Lake Chad Basin are complaining of misconducts of security personnel deployed to fight insurgency in the area.
They alleged that the soldiers were eloping with girls and young women from the communities.
This was contained in a report released by the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... Development Programme (UNDP) on Tuesday titled "Perspectives from local communities on stabilization and building peace in the Lake Chad Basin".
The report said a lack of professionalism of security forces and their alleged misconduct was cited severally, reportedly resulting in insufficient trust between security forces and the communities.
"In Cameroon ...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there... , relations between security agencies and communities seemed particularly strained by sexual and gender-based violence perpetrated by members of the security agencies.
"In Limani, for example, a woman gave birth to a child that was fathered by a soldier, resulting to her being excluded from her home due to the taboos associated with this incident," the report stated.
It was also discovered that "other girls and young women in the area have left villages with soldiers without undertaking the traditional or civil marriage process."
More so, the report said communities were accusing security forces of harassment and extortion at check points and borders.
The UNDP said all these were aggravating community sentiments against security forces.
The report however, noted that despite the mistrust that existed between the communities and the security, there were calls for deployment of more troops and security forces in the area.
It therefore, called for efforts to sustain well-trained and equipped military and security presence, adding that security operatives must also be made to adhere to a code of conduct.

[AlArabiya] Saudi Arabia will seek to develop its own nuclear weapons if Iran does, Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told CNN on Wednesday, amid spiraling tension between the regional rivals.
Asked whether Riyadh would "build a bomb itself" if Tehran seizes on Washington's withdrawal from the 2015 Iran deal to resume a nuclear weapons program, Jubeir said: "If Iran acquires nuclear capability we will do everything we can to do the same."
Saudi Arabia has long said it would match any Iranian weapons development, but Jubeir's renewed vow came after US President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of an accord designed to prevent Tehran's alleged quest for the bomb.
And it came amid growing tension over Iran's support for the Houthi rebels in Yemen, who have been firing rockets across the border.
Riyadh, which is part of a regional coalition that intervened in Yemen's civil war to fight the Houthis, accuses Iran of supplying the militia with ballistic missiles.
"These missiles are Iranian manufactured and delivered to the Huthis. Such behavior is unacceptable. It violates UN Resolutions with regards to ballistic missiles. And the Iranians must be held accountable for this," Jubeir told CNN.
"We will find the right way and at the right time to respond to this," he warned. "We are trying to avoid at all costs direct military action with Iran, but Iran's behavior such as this cannot continue. This amounts to a declaration of war."

Because your masters have more loyalty to others than you.

[DAWN] PARIS: The Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan, who is being held in La Belle France over rape allegations by three women, has lost his bid for early release ahead of trial, his lawyer told AFP. Judges had already refused bail for the 55-year-old Ramadan, who is being treated behind bars for multiple sclerosis, as well as a request for release on health grounds.
The prominent TV pundit and Oxford University professor, whose grandfather founded Egypt’s Moslem Brüderbund movement, has been held since February on charges that he raped two Moslem women in La Belle France. In early March, a third woman came forward claiming Ramadan had raped her in Brussels in 2013 and 2014, accusing him of subjecting her to violent and sexually degrading acts during a dozen meetings. Meanwhile, ...back at the shouting match, Bart was wondering if fisticuffs would be appropriate at this point... a fourth woman has filed rape charges in Geneva against Ramadan, who is a Swiss citizen.
His supporters ‐ including two million Facebook followers ‐ have lashed out angrily at his arrest, with many complaining that he has been unfairly targeted because he is Moslem.

[IsraelTimes] Alen Camdzic, a Bosnian man being held in Croatia, is accused of taking part in shooting death of Mohammed Zouari in Tunisia; Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, has blamed the Mossad.
A Croatian court on Wednesday cleared the way for the extradition of a Bosnian man to Tunisia over the alleged killing of an aerospace engineer described by the Paleostinian terror group Hamas as one of its members.
Mohammed Zouari, 49, was killed in a hail of bullets outside his house in Tunisia’s second city Sfax in December 2016.
At a hearing Tuesday, the court said it had "established that legal preconditions for extradition" had been met, a statement said.
The suspect was placed in durance vile Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! in Croatia on March 13 on an international warrant and has been held in jug since, said the statement issued by the court in Velika Gorica, near Zagreb.
The ruling is subject to appeal to the country’s Supreme Court, a move announced earlier by the suspect’s lawyer. The final decision will be made by justice minister.
The arrest was announced earlier this month by Tunisian prosecutors who said they believed that two people with Bosnian passports had carried out the liquidation.
They did not give details on the other individual.
Meanwhile Croatian media identified the detained man as Alen Camdzic, 46.
Camdzic served in the police during Bosnia’s 1990s war and became a professional soldier after the conflict, media reports said.
Tunisia earlier confirmed that "foreign elements" had been involved in the killing of a Tunisian-Belgian citizen.
Shortly after his death, Hamas said he was a drone expert who had worked for the "resistance" for a decade before being killed by "Zionist treachery."
[Al Jazeera] A prominent human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... group accused Israel on Wednesday of attempting to "shut down criticism" of its rights record after its local director was ordered to leave the country within 14 days.
Israel's interior ministry opted not to sign off on a work permit renewal of Omar Shakir - Human Rights Watch's Israel and Paleostine director - on May 7 over his alleged support for the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Both HRW and Shakir deny having any part in the movement.
Israel considers BDS - which demands an end to the occupation of Paleostine, equal rights for Paleostinian citizens of Israel, and the right of return for all Paleostinian refugees to their homes - to be anti-Jewish.

[Al Jazeera] An opposition alliance led by Malaysia's former ruler Mahathir Mohamad has won a majority in parliament - a shock victory that ends the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition's 60-year grip on power.
The Election Commission said on Thursday the opposition has so far won 112 seats and the BN has 76 in the 222-member parliament.
The election race was one of the most closely contested in Malaysia's history, with 92-year-old Mahathir coming out of retirement to take on his former protege, Prime Minister Najib Razak, who has been embroiled in a massive corruption scandal.

Mahahtir said he will be sworn in as Malaysia's leader later on Thursday, becoming the oldest prime minister in the world.
As the Pakaran Harapan or Alliance of Hope's win became clear, supporters took to social media and the streets of Malaysia's biggest city, Kuala Lumpur, waving flags of the opposition.
Al Jazeera’s Rob Mcbride, reporting from Kuala Lumpur, said the mood at a public gathering in the city turned to "euphoria" as "news began to sink in about what was happening".

92 huh? Hope they've got some good relief in the bull pen.
[Ynet] Iran's currency plummets after US pulls out of nuclear deal and prepares to reimpose sanctions on the Islamic Theocratic Republic, further exasperating the country's poor economic standing.
Some Iranians had been cashing in their savings even before US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... ’s announcement he would pull out from the international nuclear deal with Iran, straining a banking system weighed down by bad loans and years of isolation.
An official with Iran’s biggest state-owned Melli Bank told Rooters savings had declined by an unspecified amount, although he said this was a temporary phenomenon and that they would recover once the uncertainty over Trump’s decision passed.
"When there is political uncertainty, its psychological impact on people causes a drop in savings. But it will pass after Trump’s deadline," the official said before the announcement, declining to be named.
Trump said on Tuesday he would quit the deal and impose "the highest level of economic sanctions".
A senior Iranian central bank official said conditions within the banking system had deteriorated in the past year, and "we have still not passed the danger zone" but added that the central bank had "all the measures ready to prevent any crisis".
Officials with other leading lenders, Saman, Pasargad and Middle East Bank declined to comment.
The loss of confidence both reflects and contributes to wider problems threatening pragmatist President Hassan Rouhani in Iran’s faction-ridden holy manal establishment: investment has dried up as banks limit lending, growth is slowing and unemployment is at a record high, exposing Rouhani to growing criticism from hardliners.
The rial currency lost close to half of its value in the six months to April in anticipation of a tougher US approach, forcing Tehran to ban domestic foreign exchange transactions and limit foreign currency holdings to $12,000.
This failed to stop Iranians trying to buy hard currency on Tuesday, promoting a further slide in the rial, according to a foreign exchange website.
"Prices are going up almost every hour," said Ali Rasti, 45, owner of a real estate agency in Tehran. "People are worried and prefer to keep their money at home."
A separate Iranian banking official also said Iranians had taken out money. "Fearing a war and more sanctions, many Iranians have withdrawn their cash from banks," he said.
Mohammad Reza Pourebrahimi, head of parliament’s economic committee, was quoted by the semi official ISNA news agency in March as saying capital outflows had been $30 billion in recent months. The International Monetary Fund said Iran’s reserves were at nearly $112 billion in 2017/18.
And it gets worse for Iran from there...

36,000 Iranian Rials to the single American dollar? Or is it worse than that?
What Trump is trying to engineer is a new Iranian revolution. I would if I were him. And I would be looking to arm Iranians and create faction warfare within the country. There is probably a market within Iran for drugs. Ethnic tensions to exploit as well. And the Oil in Iran is in a single Province ( Khuzestan ) which borders Iraq. Most of the demographic in Khuzestan is NOT Persian, its Arab. And the Azeris are considered to be cockroaches to a Persian. That can be exploited. Lots of Farsi speakers available in the US recruitable by US Intelligence.
Nasty business Revolutions. Wouldn't like to be a Persian Mullah right now.

Deterioration of the currency is very serious to a nation that has to import a lot of things, as I understand Iran does. The price of every import increases in exact proportion to the decrease in the value of the currency of the importing country.

[PRESSTV] The US Treasury says licenses held by aerospace giants Boeing and Airbus to sell passenger jets to Iran will be revoked after Washington announced its withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal.
"The Boeing and (Airbus) licenses will be revoked," Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Tuesday.
"Under the original deal there were waivers for commercial aircraft, parts and services and the existing licenses will be revoked," he added.
The remarks came after US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... on Tuesday announced that he was quitting the Iran nuclear agreement, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Trump also said that he would reinstate US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose "the highest level" of economic bans on the Islamic Theocratic Republic.
Trump's decision came despite massive efforts by Washington's European allies to convince the US president to stay in the JCPOA.
He had threatened US exit from the multilateral nuclear accord unless the European parties fixed what he has claimed "flaws" in the agreement.
In December 2016, La Belle France-based Airbus Group signed a deal to sell Iran 100 jetliners worth about $19 billion at list prices. It has delivered three planes so far.
In the same month, reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,... -based Boeing Co. announced a contract with Iran for 80 aircraft valued at $16.6 billion. It further announced another agreement in April 2017 to sell Iran 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for $3 billion, with purchase rights for another 30 planes.

On the other hand, no metal has been cut, and the Iranians were dropping hints that they wanted to 'renegotiate' the cost anyways.

A lot of cold hard cash. Prob setup with a lot of US incentive money. I hope the Iranioids paid the up front 'contract signing bonus(s)'
[Al Jazeera] Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has angrily denounced US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... , calling his decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal as "impudent" and "worthless".
Speaking in the Iranian capital on Wednesday, Khamenei addressed the American president directly, saying: "You cannot lift one finger against us."
"You all heard last night the cheap and impudent remarks of the US president," Khamenei was quoted by Iran's Mehr news agency as saying.
"He threatened both the establishment and the land of the Medes and the Persians that he will do this and that, and I will tell him on behalf of the Iranian people: Mr Trump! Like hell, you will!"
Khamenei said the nuclear issue was "just an excuse" by the US to dominate Iran, and that its "real reason" in signing up to the 2015 agreement is to make it bow to American demands.
"The real reason behind the opposition of the US towards the Islamic Theocratic Republic's system is the fact that [before the revolution], the US had complete dominance over our country," Khamenei said.
"Eventually, their hands were severed from Iran by the Islamic Revolution."
He also described Trump's decision as "silly", "impudent" and "worthless".
Khamenei said that just as Iran does not trust the US, it also does not trust the La Belle France, Germany and the UK in keeping the deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The three countries are signatories to the nuclear agreement alongside the US, European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... , Russia, China and Iran.
"Without receiving a strong guarantee from these three European countries, we won't stick to the nuclear agreement," Khamenei said.
