Yemeni forces are fighting to close in on the Red Sea port of Hodeida, the main conduit for humanitarian supplies into a country where 22 million people are in dire need of food aid.

Medics in the southern Aden governorate, where the Yemeni government is based, said they had received the bodies of 52 people, including 20 soldiers, between Friday and Saturday, bringing the toll to at least 110 killed in festivities since Wednesday. Saudi aerial assault leaves nine civilians dead in northwestern Yemen
[PRESSTV] At least nine civilians have been killed when Saudi military aircraft carried out an Arclight airstrike against a residential area in Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada as the Riyadh regime presses ahead with its atrocious bombardment campaign against its southern neighbor.

Saudi fighter jets conducted an aerial assault against a house in the Baqim district of the province on Saturday afternoon, leaving nine people dead and several others injured, an unnamed local source told Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network.

The source added that there were women and kiddies among the fallen victims.

Elsewhere in the al-Tuhayat district of Yemen's western coastal province of Hudaydah, Saudi warplanes launched at least 15 airstrikes. There were no immediate reports of casualties and the extent of damage inflicted.

An unidentified number of Saudi-backed faceless myrmidons loyal to Yemen's resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, also bit the dust and sustained injuries when an improvised bomb went off in the Nihm district of Sana'a province.

Bahraini courts give prison sentences to dozen anti-regime activists
[PRESSTV] Courts in Bahrain have handed down prison sentences to at least 12 anti-regime protesters as the ruling Al Khalifah regime presses ahead with its heavy clampdown on political dissidents and freedom fighters in the kingdom.

Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced three of the defendants to five years in jail, while four others received three years in prison, Arabic-language Bahrain Mirror news website reported.

The court found the anti-regime activists guilty of "assaulting coppers, setting fire to a police patrol car and illegal gathering" in the small village of Abu Quwah.

They were also ordered to pay a fine of 378 dinars ($1,000) for the damage of the police patrol car owned by the Ministry of the Interior.

The same court also upheld a three-year prison sentence against a political dissident on alleged charges of making a fake bomb threat in Tubli village.

Separately, Bahrain's Supreme Criminal Court sentenced two defendants to three years in prison after convicting them of insulting and attacking a policeman and a lieutenant at Dry Dock detention center. Two others got a month in jail each.

Thousands of anti-regime protesters have held demonstrations in Bahrain on an almost daily basis ever since a popular uprising began in the country in mid-February 2011.

Security forces kill 6 'terrorists', repulse multiple attacks from across Afghan border

According to the military's media wing, the attacks targeted border posts and border fencing parties in the Bajaur area of KP and the Qamar Din Qarez area in Balochistan. Security personnel have foiled seven infiltration attempts in the Bajaur area alone during the last 24 hours, it added.

"Four security personnel and a soldier of the Pakistain Air Force, deployed at an observation post, got injured during the exchange of fire," read an ISPR blurb.

"Taking advantage of ungoverned spaces and [with] facilitation [from] inside Afghanistan, gunnies are resorting to such attacks to prevent fencing and construction of border posts," it added.

Pakistain’s military has so far fenced off more than 43km of the frontier with Afghanistan. The military has also planned to recruit tens of thousands of new troops to man the border. It is not clear how long it will take to fence the entire boundary.

Authorities in Pakistain consider the fence mandatory for restriction of the movement of gunnies from across the country.

Pakistan’s military estimates that it will need about Rs56 billion ($532 million) for the project, while there are also plans to build 750 border forts and employ high-tech surveillance systems to prevent militants crossing."

Clashes on Kashmir border end India-Pakistan brief truce
[PRESSTV] A salvo of gun and mortar fire across the border of Kashmire has ended a brief truce between India and Pakistain in the disputed Himalayan region.

Authorities in the Indian-ruled Kashmire said Sunday that two guards were killed and seven civilians were maimed in the border region of Aknoor after Pak soldiers opened unprovoked fire from Sialkot in the Pak side of the frontier.

Speaking from Jammu, the winter capital of Kashmire, Border force front man Manoj Yadav said those killed had shuffled off the mortal coil in a nearby hospital, adding that Indian troops also returned fire after the festivities erupted in early hours of Sunday.

"The injured soldiers were immediately evacuated to a military hospital where they later succumbed [to their injuries]," said Yadav.

The exchange of fire effectively ends a days-long truce reached between India and Pakistain across the border which divides Kashmire between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

The two pledged earlier this week to respect the conditions laid out in a 2003 ceasefire "in letter and spirit", encouraging thousands of civilians to return to their homes after weeks of shelling. The truce was meant to end some of the highest levels of violence seen in the region over the past 15 years. Dozens have been killed from the two sides over the past months as New Delhi and Islamabad both blame each other for violating the ceasefire.

The violence comes amid an uptick of unrest inside the India-ruled Kashmire where people have been protesting against brutality of security forces in dealing with anti-government demonstrations. Several people were maimed during festivities on Saturday which came during a funeral held for a young man who had been overrun and killed by a police car a day earlier.

India, which maintains some 500,000 troops across Kashmire, accuses Pakistain of fueling an insurgency that has killed tens of thousands of civilians since the region broke up from Britannia’s colonial rule and was divided between the two countries. Most of people in Kashmire, India’s only Moslem-dominated state, want either independence or a merger with Pakistain.

Iraqi court sentences French woman to life in jail over Daesh membership

terrorist group, some six months after Baghdad announced that the terror outfit had lost all of its urban bastions in the Arab country.

Melina Boughedir, a mother of four, on Sunday told the judge in French that she was "innocent" and that her husband, who is now believed to be killed in anti-terror operations, first "duped" her and then "threatened" her to take away the children from her unless she followed him to the Arab country, where he planned joining ISIS.

"I am opposed to the ideology" of ISIS and "condemn the actions of my husband," the 27-year-old French citizen said in defense while she wore a black dress and a black headscarf.

Boughedir arrived in the courtroom as she was carrying her youngest daughter in her arms. Her three other children are now in La Belle France.

, the former de facto capital of ISIS, the French woman was initially sentenced to seven months in prison by a court in February for "illegal" entry into Iraq and was set to be deported to her home country. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
another court ordered her re-trial under Iraq’s anti-terrorist law and on Sunday she was found guilty of being a member of ISIS.

On Thursday, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that Boughedir was a "ISIS terrorist who fought against Iraq" and that she should be tried on Iraqi soil.

Her defense team, however, tried to persuade Iraqi authorities to allow her to return to La Belle France and face a court there, but all to no avail, prompting her lawyers to denounce Le Drian and French authorities over "pressure on the Iraqi judicial system" and "unacceptable interference."

Boughedir’s defense team believed that the French government, through putting pressure on Baghdad, prevents the return of detained hard boyz to La Belle France.

Priest lightly hurt in attack by two Palestinian youths in Bethlehem
Christians also have developed the idea of being equal under the tutelage of the Juices.
[IsraelTimes] Police receive a complaint on Sunday from an Israeli Christian priest, who says he was attacked by young Paleostinian men in a church in Bethlehem, after asking them to be quiet during prayers.

The priest filed a complaint with police earlier today saying the youths made noise outside the church, leading him to ask them to be quiet.

After the service, he found two youths waiting for him outside, one of the holding a knife. They attacked him, leaving him lightly hurt at the scene.

One suspect, a Paleostinian resident of East Jerusalem, was caught by Paleostinian police and is being handed to the Israel Police for questioning, police say.

Palestinian man succumbs to Israeli gunfire wounds suffered in Gaza rally
[PRESSTV] A Paleostinian man, who was critically maimed by Israeli army gunfire more than two weeks ago during an anti-occupation protest along the border between the besieged Gazoo Strip and occupied territories, has departed this vale of tears.

The front man for the Gazoo Ministry of Health, Ashraf al-Qidra, said in a statement that 30-year-old Mohammed Na'im Hamadeh died of his injuries on Sunday morning.

He had been shot and maimed near the Gazoo fence on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Nakba Day (Day of Catastrophe), which coincided this year with the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to the occupied city of Jerusalem al-Quds.

Large blazes scorch kibbutz fields in apparent fresh Gaza kite attacks
[IsraelTimes] Large fires broke out Sunday in fields outside towns belonging to kibbutzim near the border with the Gazoo Strip, apparently as a result of a flaming kite sent from the Paleostinian enclave, according to fire and rescue services.

Firefighters worked with local residents to put out the blaze in the fields of the kibbutzim: Nir Am, Or Haner and Be’eri.

As a result of the fire, the southbound lane of the Route 34 highway was closed to traffic.

Officials said that since the start of the protests the kites had set over 270 fires, destroying some 25,000 dunam (6,200 acres), or more than a third of all the land adjacent to the Strip.
The Times of Israel updates the boilerplate from that final paragraph:
Over the past six weeks, Molotov cocktail-carrying kites and balloons launched from the Gazoo Strip have started 3,000 separate fires and decimated some 10,000 dunams (2,500 acres) of farmland near the Gazoo border, according to figures cited today by Hadashot television news.

Gaza’s airborne firebombs are getting smarter, and reaching farther

[IsraelTimes] Hadashot television news reports that the fires sparked by Gazooks in southern Israel today are reaching farther into Israel because the Gazooks have changed their tactics.

In recent weeks, Gazooks have launched Molotov cocktail-carrying kites into Israel, where they fell into dry fields and sparked major brushfires.

Today, authorities are battling helium balloons carrying long-burning materials like charcoal. The balloons are capable of flying several kilometers into Israel and sparking fires farther afield.

Syrian army forces repel Islamic State attack coming from Iraqi borders
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Syrian army forces have repelled an Islamic State attack launched by militants who infiltrated from the Iraqi borders, Syrian media channels reported on Sunday.

“Militants from IS attempted infiltration into al-Hasrat, al-Shaafa villages in al-Bu kamal region. The troops managed to eliminate them,” the Syrian news agency SANA said.

“Confrontations occurred between army forces and militants who sneaked from the Iraqi-Syrian borders to al-Shaafa village, on the eastern bank of Euphrates,” the report said adding that the clashes left the militants killed and injured.

Moreover, army forces foiled an infiltration attempt into al-Hasrat village, north of al-Bu Kamal, killing most of the militants.
