[NATIONALREVIEW] Texas governor Greg Abbott ... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too... on Thursday issued eight executive orders aimed at preventing mass shootings after two massacres last month left the Lone Star State shaken.
"Mental instability, racial hatred, holy warrior ideology, a desire to sow domestic terror, and other factors have contributed to these horrific mass shootings in varying degrees," the executive orders said. They also pointed out that police had been alerted to both shooters before they carried out their attacks.
Abbott ordered the state’s Department of Public Safety and Commission on Law Enforcement to standardize procedures for determining whether information should be reported to the Texas Suspicious Activity Reporting Network, to train law enforcement in those procedures, and to raise public awareness of them.
He also ordered the Department of Public Safety to work with local law enforcement, mental-health professionals, and school districts to come up with "multidisciplinary threat assessment teams" and beef up staff at government intelligence-gathering centers, and increased pressure on counties to promptly report criminal convictions to the Department.

Seems the last guy reported himself and still cops pulling him over for a busted tail light got surprised.
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] 2020 Democrat hopeful Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020... told "The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert Wednesday night that he would nominate his former ’boss’ Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... to the US Supreme Court.
"Would you appoint him [Obama] to the Supreme Court?" Colbert asked Biden.
"Hell...yes!" Biden said with a creepy grin on his face. "I don’t think he’d do it but...he’s fully qualified."

I think Joe is pandering to the crew (O, Mootch, ValJar) that he hopes will help him.

The hours aren't that long, but I suspect they are still longer than Obama would like. Of course watching the whole march to Sainthood of RBG might convince him to give it a go.
[AMGREATNESS] A senior policy adviser at the Department of Labor who was forced to resign last week after a Bloomberg Law news hound smeared him, was reinstated Wednesday night, the Daily Caller’s Luke Rosiak reported in an exclusive.
According to a senior Labor Department official, Acting Secretary Patrick Pizzella "personally made this decision after carefully reviewing all the facts and circumstances." The official added, "he concluded that a correction is much better than an injustice."
Leif Olson, a conservative appellate lawyer who started as an adviser in the department’s Wage and Hour Division on Aug. 12, left the department abruptly on Friday after Bloomberg Law news houndBen Penn contacted the White House and Labor Department about what he portrayed as anti-Semitic Facebook posts from 2016.
After news broke that he had been rehired, Olson took to Twitter to express his gratitude "for the opportunity to continue to serve."
[YAHOO] Sen. Kámala Harris Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, now a senatrix from California and 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, indistinguishable from the others... , D-Calif., said Wednesday during a CNN climate change forum that the U.S. should ban plastic straws while answering a question about curbing the country’s reliance on single-use plastics. But Harris also said she wants to "encourage innovation" around paper straws that break too often.
"I think we should, yes. I mean. Look, I’m going to be honest. It's really difficult out of --drink out of a paper straw ‐ like, if you don’t gulp it down immediately, it starts to bend, and then the little thing catches it," Harris says, making a snapping motion with her hands and laughing. "So, we gotta kind of perfect that one a little bit more."
"Innovation is a process, but let's encourage innovation, and I think we can do a little better than some of those flimsy" paper straws, the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, senator continued.
"We do need to ban the plastic," Harris added.
"I think we should" ban plastic straws, says Sen. Kamala Harris, but she adds we still need to rely on innovation to perfect the paper straw.
"It's really difficult to drink out of a paper straw...if you don't gulp it down immediately it starts to bend." Why, back in my day (he said, putting his teeth in) we slurped out of paper straws. They didn't bend, and some even came with accordion-style bends. The paper back then was waxed, but I guess we've lost that level of technology.

And she is taking a page out of AOC's(All OutCrazy) coloring book when today she couldn't respond to her assertion as to why the US wants so many ice breakers in the Artic; ignoring for the moment that the Artic is the latest hot spot for development and governments need to protect its stakes in the area. could it possibly be that that is where the ice is???
Sure as hell ain't in Bermuda.
And this is the best the Dems have to offer???

At this part of the campaign, while pandering to the wackos in their base, they forget the rest of the world is also there watching. The commercials will be devastating.
[FOXNEWS] Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., said comments by Christine Blasey Ford's attorney may be worthy of an investigation after she admitted that her client had political motivations for accusing Justice Brett Kavanaugh of rape.
Ford's attorney, Debra Katz, said Kavanaugh "will always have an asterisk next to his name," while speaking at the University of Baltimore’s 11th Feminist Legal Theory Conference in April.
"When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is -- we know his character and we know what motivates him. And that is important. It is important that we know, and that was part of what motivated Christine."
During an appearance on "Outnumbered Overtime" Thursday, Tillis said Katz's comments may warrant an investigation to help publicize all the facts of the case.
[BREITBART] Sen. Bernie Sanders ...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being a socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around... (I-VT) told CNN’s climate change town hall attendees Wednesday night that he is willing to talk about population control, suggesting that child sacrifice abortion is key to addressing the climate crisis.
"Human population growth has more than doubled in the last 50 years," an attendee told Sanders, adding that the planet cannot sustain such growth.
"I realize this is a poisonous topic for politicians but it’s crucial to face. Empowering women and educating everyone on the need to curb population growth seems a reasonable campaign to enact," the attendee continued.
"Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?" she asked.
"The answer is yes," Sanders said, arguing that population control ‐ in the form of child sacrifice abortion and birth control, specifically ‐ is something he "very, very strongly" supports.
"The answer has everything to do with the fact that women in the United States of America, by the way, have a right to control their own bodies and make reproductive decisions," Sanders said.
"And the Mexico City agreement, which denies American aid to those organizations around the world that are ‐ that allow women to have child sacrifice abortions or even get involved in birth control is totally absurd," he continued.
"So I think especially in poor countries around the world, where women do not necessarily want to have large numbers of babies and where they can have the opportunity to birth control to control the number of kids they have is something I very, very strongly support," he added.

Without even realizing it, I am sure, he said Muslims should have fewer babies. I am sure he will follow up soon with "I just meant blue collar white people and Christians".
No, not referring to Willie Brown
[Townhall] During a CNN town hall special about climate change Wednesday night, Democrat Senator Kamala Harris was asked if she would be willing to change federal eating guidelines for the sake of saving the planet if she became president. She agreed with a questioner who argued Americans should be eating less meat and that the government should force them into other dietary habits.
Not only is Harris' promise to limit meat intake hypocritical, it's part of a broader globalist push. From a Time piece titled, "If We Want to Stop Climate Change, Now is a Moment of Reckoning for How We Use the Planet, Warns U.N. Report":

But with a reduction in meat eating, the cow population will explode and all the methane will overwhelm the planet. to prevent that we should eat more meat. and more often.

USN, not necessarily. Once it becomes economically impossible to raise cattle, many of them will be killed or die of starvation when farmers and ranchers can no longer feed them. After that, the few remaining will wander around, eating whatever they can.
I saw this in Bangalore, India several years ago. Since Hindus don't eat cows, many of them wander the streets, eating garbage or whatever they can. Strangely enough, I saw people milking them.

You will see this just about everywhere in India. The cows wandering around are a combination of abandoned cows that quit or don’t produce enough milk. Young heifers that haven’t started and bulls that aren’t needed. The ones that give a little milk are milked by the jhuggi wallahs, I’ve heard the milk is nasty due to the diet of garbage. Doesn’t bother the JW’s though.
[BNNBLOOMBERG.CA] The Trump administration is preparing a plan to strip Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,’s authority to set tougher auto efficiency regulations than the federal government, even while agencies continue finalizing a rollback of national standards, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The matter is still under consideration and no final decision to proceed has been made but is expected in the coming days, said the person, who requested anonymity to discuss the matter.
Under the plan, the Environmental Protection Agency would revoke a waiver granted to California allowing the state to limit vehicle greenhouse gas emissions more stringently than federal rules, as well as the state’s requirement that companies sell electric cars in greater numbers each year, the person said. In addition, the U.S. Transportation Department plans to assert that the California regulations are preempted by federal fuel-economy regulations.
The plan would also leave in place California’s regulations covering smog-forming emissions from cars and other sources, the person said. Consideration of the plan was previously reported by Politico.

Not that easy. SCOTUS has ruled in specific cases the states can set higher standards. Best bet would be via the commerce clause and a form of anti-competition obstruction to internal state domestic industry.

The latest tactic in California is to convert car lanes on local roads to bike lanes. Creates wonderful traffic jams to convince those evil car drivers to stop driving and start riding bicycles. It's even better than the carpool lanes on the freeways. Good for the makers of spandex too.

I don't really want this to happen. California keeps voting for terrible people and evil policies, so they deserve to get them. May it serve as a continued lesson for the rest of the universe.
