[ToloNews] At least one person was killed, and another was maimed in a blast in Kabul on Saturday night, Kabul police confirmed.
The incident happened around 7:40 pm local time in Qala-e-Mir Abbas in PD9 of Kabul city as security forces searched a suspected house. During the search "a home-made mine went kaboom! that killed one and injured another," according to Kabul police.
"The police's preliminary investigations show that these people were busy making mines," police said, adding that the victims are believed to be those making the bombs.

Egypt's armed forces have killed 77 terrorist elements during various raids in the last few weeks, the country’s military front man said on Sunday, adding that the operations had led to the death or injury of seven army personnel.

The injured terrorist is receiving medical treatment at a military hospital and is being interrogated.

"This coincides with the intensification of the naval forces' work of mopping-up and inspection of the operation area of the Mediterranean and Red Sea to secure economic objectives and secure the coastal strip against any threats, in addition to activating maritime security measures within our territorial waters," the statement added.
"As a result of the valiant combating operations, three officers and four soldiers were martyred or injured," read the statement.

[Breitbart] A group of firefighters was attacked in the multicultural Brussels no-go zone of Molenbeek after allegedly being lured to the area for a deliberate ambush.
The alleged ambush took place late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning after the firefighters were called to deal with an incident of a large dumpster that had been set on fire on the Mahatma Gandhi Avenue.
Walter Derieuw, a member of the local fire department, described the scene, saying: "The street was partially blocked by waste containers, one of which was ablaze."
"As we approached the fire, our fire truck was suddenly pelted with glass bottles. They were thrown at us by people standing on the roof of a building. Projectiles were also thrown during the extinguishing," he told newspaper Nieuwsblad.
Derieuw suggested the attack had been a planned ambush, saying: "We wonder if we were not deliberately lured on the spot in order to attack us."
Not that they actually wonder, but it wouldn’t do to express certainty.
According to local police, the incident is not the first ambush attack on firefighters in the Belgian and EU capital.
Molenbeek itself has become internationally infamous due to the high levels of radical Islamic activity over the years, with La Belle France’s deadliest Islamic terrorist attack, the Bataclan massacre, being linked to the area.
One of the Bataclan attackers, Salah Abdeslam, hid in Molenbeek for months before police were finally able to take him into custody.
Earlier this year, the area came into headlines again during the Wuhan virus outbreak, when several local youths in the area were arrested after spitting on the door handles of police vehicles in an effort to infect officers.
Attacks on firefighters in neighbouring La Belle France have become common in recent years as well. In July of this year a firefighter was even hit by a gunshot while responding to a fire in the commune of Etampes.
French union official Jean-Christophe Cantot commented on the growing trend of violence, warning that "The attacks we are experiencing are getting more and more violent mostly peaceful.”

Exclusive: The victim of last night's deadly shooting in downtown Portland is Aaron Danielson, who went by Jay. His family has been informed of his death.
Jay Bishop, whose real name was Aaron Danielson, was a member of Patriot Prayer, a conservative protest group. The group’s Facebook page says that they’re “about fighting corruption, big government, and tyranny using God for strength and the power of love.”
The media generally refer to Patriot Prayer as “a far-right” organization.
Brown’s comments came after months of inaction by local authorities to wrangle violent protests across the city of Portland under Mayor Ted Wheeler.

“Throughout this pandemic, whether it was demonstrations protesting my COVID-19 executive orders, or large crowds marching for the cause of Black Lives Matter to call for police reform, I have supported the rights of all Oregonians to peacefully protest.”
“For months this summer, we have seen powerful images of Oregonians uniting for the cause of racial justice, calling for justice for black men and women who have been killed by police violence,” Brown stated. “We remember them, we say their names. George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. Philando Castile. Alton Sterling. And far too many other Black lives taken by racist violence.”
“For weeks, we have also seen small groups of demonstrators from all ends of the political spectrum who are intent on committing acts of vandalism and violence,” Brown continued.
Brown concluded her anti-Trump message by claiming the state would find who was “responsible” for the murder and hold them “accountable.”
“Tragically, yesterday a life was lost in downtown Portland,” Brown added. “We do not yet know the full circumstances of this person’s death. Regardless, a life has been lost, and our hearts go out to this person’s family. We will find those who were responsible, and they will be held accountable.”
Since the death of George Floyd, Portland has become a hot spot for violent crime, including the burning and looting of buildings, the tearing down of statues and monuments, and various shootings.
Police in Portland have been left to fend for themselves with little to no backing from state or local officials.
Protests across Portland for the past few months have been mostly anti-police. One group took to the streets to burn the American flag and copies of the Bible. Another group set ablaze a severed pig’s head, donned with a cop hat sitting atop an American flag.

The arrests were made based on information and precise monitoring of the suspects' movements, according to the announcement from the Asayesh (security forces) of Garmiyan region in southern Sulaimani province.
The first arrest was made by the Garmiyan Asayesh on July 13 in the town of Sarqala. The second was made in coordination between Garmiyan Asayesh and Sulaimani Asayesh Operation Forces in the same region.
A third suspect was detained in Raniya and the final arrest took place on July 20 in Sarqala.
The ISIS suspects have "confessed to committing many crimes against humanity," according to the Garmiyan Asayesh statement.
In excerpts of their confessions that have been made public, two of the men said they fought for ISIS in Uzem, south of Kirkuk, ... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... and a third said he fought for the group in Hawija.
