[LI] L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey announced the arrest of Deonte Lee Murray, 36, in relation to the ambush shooting of two county deputies.

Deonte Lee Murray, 36, of Compton, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on two counts each of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder of a peace officer and possession of a firearm by a felon, District Attorney Jackie Lacey said.
Lacey expressed her best wishes to the injured deputies and said, "They became victims of a violent crime for one reason: They were doing their job and they were wearing a badge."
The two deputies sustained wounds to the face and head on September 12 near the Compton Metro station. They received surgery and have left the hospital.
Police took Murray into custody on September 15 after a standoff in Lynwood on unrelated charges.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva said that they suspected him of an armed carjacking and not the shooting at that time:
The gang member apparently dunnit merely because he hates cops.

Don't have a reference, but someone was pointing out the security cam footage had some severe lens distortion. That would make measurements or even just eye-balling it a little whack without some correction.
The vehicle was identified as a Ford or Dodge SUV-ish thing, not a car as it appears in the clip.
Still... the perp's gait is curious. Very dwarf-like, IMHO.

I forget where I saw it (Second City Cop blog maybe?), but the cops were complaining that the cheap-ass (chinese?) batteries in their tazers would not hold a charge and were not reliably useful for subduing bad guys.
That would explain all these instances where the perps are seemingly unaffected by a taser shot. Although drugs is another possibility.

Woman cop needs a desk job. She panicked, screamed and neither backed away nor shot him. The perp could have killed her at any time but all he wanted was the Taser to stop. Instead, the male cops were forced to kill him. Complete CF.

^He had attacked and cut civilians moments before. He was advancing on the police before he was tased. He was tripping on something, shot numerous times but did not fall. Until a shot appeared to hit him in the spine.

There needs to be a rule, imposed upon the media by court orders a la the "gag rule," that media coverage regarding every incident of deadly police shooting should either feature the results of a medical examiner-administered blood test of the victim and a related, detailed report

[FREEP] A 17-year-old Eastpointe teen was charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of his 17-year-old girlfriend, Eastpointe Police said Friday. 'Cuz black lives matter.
RayQuan Taylor was charged with one count each of manslaughter and manslaughter-death by weapon aimed with intent but without malice, and two counts of felony firearms offenses, police said in a post on its Facebook page Friday afternoon.
He is accused in the death Wednesday of Kira Seymour, who is the mother of a 1-month-old baby girl.
Taylor was arraigned Friday in 38th District Court in Eastpointe and ordered held in the Macomb County Jail on a $500,000 bond, according to the police's Facebook post. His next court date is Oct. 20.

[Guardian] Polish divers say they have found the wreck of a German second world war ship that may help solve a decades-old mystery about the whereabouts of the Amber Room, an ornate chamber that the Nazis looted from a tsarist palace in Russia.
Decorated with amber and gold, the room was part of the Catherine Palace near St Petersburg. It was last seen in Königsberg, then a Baltic port city in Germany but now the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
The Karlsruhe steamer set sail from Königsberg in 1945 with a heavy cargo before Soviet warplanes sank it off the coast of Poland.
Divers from the Baltictech group say they have found the wreck of the Karlsruhe.
"We have been looking for the wreckage since last year when we realised there could be the most interesting, undiscovered story lying at the bottom of the Baltic Sea," Tomasz Stachura, one of the divers, said in a statement.

Another theory put forth is that the amber was taken from the castle’s courtyard in early 1945 and again hidden in its cellars. It was then destroyed when the castle was heavily bombed by the Royal Air Force. This theory is supported by the conclusions of two studies made by British investigative journalists Catherine Scott-Clark and Adrian Levy and by Soviet investigators. Both studies concluded that the Amber Room was most likely destroyed when Königsberg Castle was burned shortly after its surrender.

According to investigative documents, Bernstein told the responding officer she is Hispanic and Black.
Harris told Bernstein’s attorney, Andrea Sumpter, during a meeting Tuesday that no one planned to file any charges against Bernstein, saying there’s no evidence she colluded with anyone to make a false report and there was no evidence she was involved in any of the destruction during the protest.
Harris told Sumpter that Bernstein had clearly suffered injuries to her face and that detectives were interested in whether someone else had hurt her in a different way than she had alleged.
Sumpter said she had no alternative information from Bernstein or her family about how she was burned and “acknowledged that there can be many reasons why a victim might not want to be forthcoming about who caused injuries,” Harris wrote.

Actually she reported two of the four guys wearing Hawaiian shirts (supposedly some dog-whistle for white supremacy), the other two were dressed in black.
Originally thought this might be some false-flag thing, but the more info (what little they release) leads me closer to what Beldar notes. The detectives would have found accelerant splashed somewhere in the vehicle if the event occurred as Ms. Bernstein described.
And the timelines are wrong.

Simple: run the records on her smart phone to get the when and where. Want to bet it shows she was not where she claimed she was, when she claimed it to happen? On the flip side, if the place/time are confirmed, then they have a case to work.
