Construction worker killed after forklift falls 75 feet from bridge
[NYPOST] A construction foreman in Missouri plunged 75 feet to his death when his forklift fell off a bridge, officials said.

Alan Jackson, 59, of Pevely, died Tuesday while working on the Blanchette Memorial Bridge. He was found unconscious inside the construction machinery, Missouri Highway Patrol officials told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

"He was in this piece of equipment and removing construction decking from underneath the bridge, and the weight shifted and the equipment fell off the bridge," Cpl. Dallas Thompson told the newspaper.

The machinery, identified by KTVI as a telescopic forklift, plummeted onto a sand embankment, where rescuers performed CPR on Jackson, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital, Thompson said.

Jackson worked for St. Louis’ KCI Construction Company, which won a $33 million contract in January to rehab the bridge, which spans the Missouri River between St. Louis and St. Charles counties, the Post-Dispatch reported.

Relatives told the newspaper Jackson — a former Marine who had worked nearly three decades in construction — was planning to retire this year and travel the country with his wife.

"He had worked right about 30 years. [He] and my mom were planning to take their camper and travel the United States seeing different sights," said Jackson’s son, James.

Britain
‘Major Incident’ Declared as Car Driven Into London Police Station UPDATE: COVID-related, not jihad
Article hit by a stray gamma ray. Working to reconstitute it now.

— trailing wife for the moderators at 6:55 p.m. ET

Finished, including updates, at 7:15 p.m. ET
[Breitbart] A man was arrested Wednesday night in Edmonton, London, after a car crashed into the front of a police station.

A police statement said the incident, which occurred shortly before seven o’clock in the evening, saw a vehicle collide with a police station in north London. An arrest — reportedly of the driver — took place at the scene, which was attended by specialist officers.

The police station was evacuated, and officers — including armed officers — have established a cordon around the scene.

Update 2130 GMT

London area talk radio station cites the account of eye-witness Ogur Mazlum, who said of the incident: “He rammed into the main entrance, the glass part, and was insisting on trying to get in. When he noticed that he couldn’t get it, he got out a can of petrol and tipped it on the floor starting at the car and into the middle of the road and set it alight.”

Serife Mazlum added: “[The driver] looked like a pretty sane person. It was intentional. It is horrifying. As soon as my husband sent me the video he said we’re closing [the shop] and coming home.”

Update 2030 GMT

No injuries have been reported from the scene of tonight’s incident, police say.

Edmonton MP Kat Edmonton has deleted her initial tweet that called the event a “major incident”, retweeting that it is instead an “incident”.

This social media video, which clearly shows the front of Edmonton Police Station with its doors battered in by a blue car shows smoke rising from the vehicle, and a man walking around pouring a liquid on the ground.

The original story continues below:

The UK’s Daily Mail tabloid newspaper reports that several videos claiming to be from the scene were shared to social media. While not verified by police, one video shared by television journalist Mark White appears to show officers arresting a man on the pavement outside the station and a car on the pavement.

Another video, again unverified by police and again referenced by UK media reports, appeared to show a man pouring petrol on the road before setting it alight.
When I checked the source article for updates this evening, I found the following:
Update 0900 GMT

Police gave further updates on the crash at Edmonton police station overnight, including the fact they are not treating the incident as “terror-related”. The force said they had arrested a “45-year-old white man” who was in the vehicle when it crashed, and who used petrol to attempt to set it on fire.

Officers said he had been arrested on arson and other offences. Police Commander Ade Adelekan said: This appears to have been an isolated incident and does not seem to be terror-related. I am satisfied that there is no wider risk to the community.

“Local officers will continue to carry out enquiries, but at this stage we are not looking for anybody else.”
Based in the update, I am moving the article to Page 3: Non-WoT. But when posted it was posted last night it definitely looked like Sudden Jihad Syndrome.
Update from the Sun at 7:10 p.m. ET:
A MAN is due to appear in the dock after a car was rammed into a police station and a street set alight 'over a £10,000 coronavirus fine'.

Police are investigating whether a suspect snapped after being given the maximum fixed penalty notice for allegedly breaching lockdown rules.

Scotland Yard confirmed the incident is not being treated as terror-related. They also said no injuries to any police officers or members of the public were reported.

Commander Ade Adelekan said: "This appears to have been an isolated incident and does not seem to be terror-related. I am satisfied that there is no wider risk to the community.“

Tonight, cops said they've charged a man in connection with the incident.

45-year-old Adam Pawlowski, of Waltham Cross, London, has been charged with attempted arson with intent to endanger life and criminal damage.

He will appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Dominion Voting Systems denies financial relationship with Dianne Feinstein's husband
[Washington Examiner] Dominion Voting Systems rebuked claims that the company has a financial relationship with the husband of Sen. Dianne Feinstein and that the company manipulated the results of the 2020 election.

"The company has no financial relationship with Mr. Blum," Kay Stimson, Dominion's vice president of government affairs, told the Dispatch. "This is a false claim spread on social media."

Trump legal adviser Sidney Powell said Democrats, including Feinstein's husband, Richard Blum, invested in the voting system company to "steal" elections not only from Republicans but from other Democrats.

Fox News's Maria Bartiromo said that she had seen reports that Blum was a "significant shareholder" in Dominion and that a former chief of staff for Nancy Pelosi is a "key executive."

"They have invested in it for their own reasons and are using it to commit this fraud to steal votes," Powell told Bartiromo during an interview. "I think they’ve even stolen them from other Democrats in their own party, who should be outraged about this also."

Powell said that Democrats "had this all planned" and that they inserted ballots filled out only for apparent President-elect Joe Biden when President Trump's vote tally went too high.

#2  Dominion Voting Systems.

Ownership can happen in lots of ways which are not transparent. For example, Blum might invest in some portfolio that contains tech stocks.

It would take a little time to get a profile on the ownership of Dominion. He might donate money to a charity that later gets funneled into Dominion. Maybe money gets donated to ActBlue or the CF and then directed somewhere else. ActBlue is a little sketchy on this distribution. (Not saying it was done. I'm not a CPA or forensics CPA type who audits such things.)

#4  *puts on old hat*

I remember back on one of my programming, uhem coding classes, being tasked with creating a Slot Machine Program.

Knowing that the students would ef it, the instructor followed the test with, "Fix It and Why."

I ended up making a program which I could win the 'money' but on a loss, not loose the money.

Granted, this was when Mario was still chasing Peach's skirt, but the programming should be magnificently similar.

Republican Dan Sullivan reelected in Alaska US Senate Race
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan has won reelection in Alaska, defeating independent Al Gross in a race that attracted outside attention with control of the Senate at stake.

The race had been determined too early to call on Election Day, Nov. 3, due to a large number of outstanding absentee ballots. Election officials began counting more than 150,000 absentee and other ballots on Tuesday.

The result in Alaska means control of the Senate won’t be decided until January Senate runoffs are held in Georgia.

Sullivan campaign manager Matt Shuckerow was muted in his response Wednesday, noting ballots still were being counted in Alaska. But he said the campaign was "very delighted to be in the position that we’re in."

"We’re feeling very positive. We’re very excited about the support that we’ve received," Shuckerow said.

The Gross campaign did not immediately indicate plans to concede after The Associated Press called the race for Sullivan on Wednesday.

"With so many Alaskans voices needing to be heard, we’ll continue to monitor the race as results come in and assess tonight," Gross’ campaign manager, David Keith, said in a statement.

Indiana Sen. Todd Young, chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, in a statement congratulated Sullivan, calling him a man "who has championed the unique needs of his state in Washington."
PJ Media adds:
As of Wednesday afternoon, Sullivan led Democrat Al Gross by more than 50,000 votes — a lead of over 20 percent.

Limiting Indoor Capacity Can Reduce Coronavirus Infections, Study Shows
[NYTIMES] Research using cellphone data in 10 U.S. cities last spring could help influence officials’ decisions on new restrictions as cases resurge around the country.

Restaurants, gyms, cafes and other crowded indoor venues accounted for some 8 in 10 new infections in the early months of the U.S. coronavirus epidemic, according to a new analysis that could help officials around the world now considering curfews, partial lockdowns and other measures in response to renewed outbreaks.

The study, which used cellphone mobility data from 10 U.S. cities from March to May, also provides an explanation for why many low-income neighborhoods were hardest hit. The public venues in those communities were more crowded than in more affluent ones, and residents were more mobile on average, likely because of work demands, the authors said in the research published in the journal Nature on Tuesday.

The data came from the metro areas of Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
