[ToloNews] Kabul witnessed at least 60 security-related incidents over the past two months in which 133 people were killed and 280 more maimed, according to a survey by TOLOnews.
Amrullah Saleh, First Vice President, personally took charge of overseeing Kabul's security two months ago.
Based on the TOLOnews survey, over the past 64 days, Kabul witnessed three suicide kabooms including an attack on Kabul University, an attack on the Kawsar-e-Danish coaching center and on security forces in Paghman district in the east of Kabul.
According to the survey, during this period Kabul also witnessed 29 IED blasts, three missile attacks, 26 armed attacks and two boom-mobileings.
Saleh, after assuming charge of Kabul's security, pledged to bring real security for the people in the capital city. The survey indicates that Saleh’s promises remain on paper and nothing has changed on the ground.
But Saleh’s office has said that it is impossible to address all challenges in two months.
Critics say that Saleh has failed to address the issue of IED blasts, systematic killings and he has not disclosed the names of land-grabbing mafia or brought discipline and order to the city streets.
"No fundamental work was done for the security of Kabul," said Jawad Dawari, a political analyst in Kabul.
"The enemies of Afghanistan want to show their presence again by carrying out all these attacks," said Minister of Interior Massoud Andarabi.
Saleh’s office has said that during this period, many suspects involved in terror attacks in the city have been arrested and several criminal groups were dismantled.
"Its impossible to eradicate terrorism, arrest all criminals and all land grabbers," said Rezwan Murad, a front man for the First Vice President.
[KhaamaPress] The Paktia Police HQ announced the resignation of Akhtar Mohammad Shahin, the provincial security chief.
Paktia Governor Halim Fedayi says Shahin has resigned due to negligence in the system.
A source, who didn’t want to be named, said that the Paktia police chief had resigned due to injustice, increased corruption, and the unprofessional nature of the police at the Paktia police headquarters.
Akhtar Mohammad Shahin is said to have been appointed police chief of Paktia province about two months ago.
Paktia is one of the southeastern provinces of Afghanistan, and one of the most insecure provinces in the country where the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... have a large presence.
In the last month, the Taliban have launched large-scale attacks in the province.
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Senior Afghan analysts on Sunday criticized comments by the Iranian foreign minister, where he suggested fighters from Fatemiyoun, an Iranian militia made up of Afghan Shiite migrants colonists, could help in Kabul’s fight against ISIS.
The Fatemiyoun Division is considered to be under the Quds Force, the branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responsible for overseas operations, which the US and many other countries consider a terrorist organization.
Tabish Forugh, an Afghan scholar based in the US, said Afghanistan should not "risk provoking unnecessary sectarian violence in the country."

He added Pakistain supports not only the Taliban but also al-Qaeda in relations to gain their regional goals, adding that the Afghan conflict is "rooted outside the country," 1TV news quoted Afrasiab.
The US- Taliban deal was against the international rules, it is due to the deal was made with a non-state negotiating group that promises to renounce violence and government recognition matters, Khattak told 1TV news.

Earlier, the government said Taliban are still carrying coordinated operations with al-Qaeda, and United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... analysis confirmed Taliban and al-Qaeda ties remain intact.
On February 2020, in a speech, Mike Pompeo urged the bully boy group to "keep your promises to cut ties with al-Qaeda".

[AnNahar] La Belle France could back talks with some jihadist elements in Africa's restive Sahel region ... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas... , a source in President Emmanuel Macron's office said on Monday.
A dialogue with some elements of the Group to Support Islam and Moslems (GSIM)
...in Arabic Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Moslemin (JNIM), the regional umbrella affiliated with Al Qaeda in North Africa...
would be "possible", the source said, because their agenda was more local and opportunistic than other groups.
La Belle France has more than 5,000 troops fighting jihadists in the region, which runs the width of Africa to the south of the Sahara. Overlapping insurgencies severely affect Mali, Burkina Faso ...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Macron ruled out negotiating with jihadist groups in the Sahel last month, telling Jeune Afrique magazine: "We don't talk with terrorists. We fight."
The source told AFP on Monday there could be no negotiation with the leadership of al-Qaeda, and any talks with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. "We're at war with two organizations which are not of the Sahel but international, and which are waging a terrorist battle beyond the region," the source said.
Although affiliated with al-Qaeda -- which the source said "nobody has ever managed to negotiate with" -- GSIM contains elements which might deserve "a response that is different from the war on terror".
There is no reason for La Belle France to stand in the way of discussions between regional governments and such elements, the source said.
Negotiating with jihadists in the Sahel region became a hot topic in October when French hostage Sophie Petronin was freed following talks led by Malian envoys -- officially without French participation.
"Our objective is, by eliminating certain leaders, to allow the Malians and the others to sit at the same table," the source said.
The source also said that a summit is planned in Africa in February with the leaders of the G5 Sahel countries -- Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad.
La Belle France is planning to reduce its troop strength in the region just a year after sending hundreds of extra troops to the Sahel, army and government sources have told AFP.
La Belle France would like to withdraw several hundred troops from its current 5,100-member contingent to make room for a stronger European commitment, they say.
This would take it back to levels deployed before a surge in activity in January, when rising numbers of jihadist attacks prompted La Belle France to bolster its troop presence.

[THEBAGHDADPOST] There are indications that Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. Accurate pandemic numbers are hard to come by because of the opacity of the Islamic regime.
However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... based on sporadic statements by government officials as well as direct testimony from members of the country’s beleaguered medical community, it is hard to avoid the grim conclusion that Iran may be among the top three or four worst-hit countries in the world, with the other three—India, the United States, and Brazil—possessing much larger populations.
