Cartels instrumental in assisting 'Build Back Better' repopulation effort
[Townhall] For months the Biden administration has been secretly flying thousands of illegal immigrants to states across the country.

Recent video from Fox News reveals the administration isn't just transporting family units, but single male adults into the interior of the United States. The practice is a violation of Title 42 and federal immigration law.

"Large numbers of single adult illegal immigrants are being released and transported into the U.S. in Texas via a small, unmarked office in a parking lot" Fox News reports. "Fox News footage shows several federally contracted buses dropping off dozens of mostly male migrants at a parking garage in Brownsville, Texas. Black tarps were set up with a makeshift sign said 'Border Patrol drop-off' above it."

"Fox witnessed men go into a small, unmarked office, then re-emerge moments later as multiple taxi cabs then showed up to collect the migrants -- who were then shuttled off to nearby Harlingen Airport. There were no children or migrant families among the groups," the report continues. "Several of the migrants told Fox that they had crossed illegally that morning, paying approximately $2,000 per person to cartel smugglers. They also said they were flying to destinations including Miami, Houston and Atlanta."

Afghanistan
Afghanistan says resistance forces will defeat Taliban
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edied.
[REGNUM] In the coming months, resistance will begin in all corners of Afghanistan and will continue until the country is liberated. Ali Meisam Nazari, head of the Foreign Relations Department of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, told reporters about this, as Afintl.com reports .

"We are confident that we will defeat the Taliban,” Ali Meisam Nazari said.

Recall that earlier representatives of the National Resistance Front, headed by Ahmad Masud, called negotiations with the Taliban (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) fruitless.

The talks in Tehran were the first official contacts between the Taliban and Ahmad Massoud in five months; with the mediation of Iran, negotiations were held to find a peaceful solution between the Taliban (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) and their opponents.

However, representatives of the National Resistance Front warned that the talks did not mean that they would lay down their arms.

After that, it was reported that negotiations were also allegedly held in Moscow between the Taliban (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) and the National Resistance Front. Russian officials have not confirmed the news.

Tunisian president dissolves top judicial watchdog, accuses it of bias
[AlAhram] Tunisian President Kais Saied has dissolved a major independent judicial watchdog, he said Sunday, accusing it of bias and working for special interests.

The Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) "is a thing of the past", the president said in a video, accusing the body responsible for appointing judges of corruption and delaying politically sensitive investigations, including into the liquidations of left-wing activists in 2013.

Some observers say the government is seeking to clamp down on the Islamist-inspired Ennahda party, which has controlled parliament and the various governments since the 2011 revolution which toppled Ben Ali.

Saied has concentrated all executive power since July 25, when he dismissed his Prime Minister and suspended parliament.

He has since ruled by decree.

President Saied and his supporters insist that his decisions aim to rectify the country's democrartic path.

On Saturday, the "July 25 movement", which is composed of his top supporters, called on the president to dissolve the CSM in order to "purge" the judiciary of "corrupt magistrates".

"Unfortunately in this country, some judges in the courts have manipulated the Chokri Belaid case," said Saied, referring to a leftist leader who was shot three times outside his home in February 2013.

"This is not the first trial where they have tried to hide the truth for years," he added.

A major demonstration is planned for Sunday in Tunis to commemorate the liquidation of Belaid and of Mohammed Brahmi, killed in similar circumstances in July the same year.

"In this council, positions and appointments are sold and made according to affiliations," said the head of state.

"You cannot imagine the money that certain judges have been able to receive, billions and billions," he added.

Danish Court Convicts Iranian Separatist Group of Spying for KSA
[AnNahar] A Danish court on Friday convicted three leaders of an Iranian Arab separatist group based in the Scandinavian country of spying for Saudi intelligence between 2012 and 2020.

The three, aged 40 to 51 and one of whom is a Danish citizen, are members of the separatist organization ASMLA (Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz), which Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
considers a terrorist group.

Their sentencing will be announced in March. They face up to 12 years in prison.

Following a lengthy trial held behind closed doors, the Roskilde court found the trio guilty of "gathering information on individuals and organizations, in Denmark and abroad, as well as on Iranian military affairs, and transmitting this information to a Saudi intelligence service".

The trio was also found guilty of "promoting terrorism" for supporting the activities of ASMLA's armed branch.

The jury found that "the actions and attacks of these movements are terrorist attacks which exceed the limits of legitimate freedom fighting".

They were also convicted of "financing and attempted financing of terrorism", for having received 15 million kroner (two million euros) from a Saudi intelligence agency as well as having tried to obtain another 15 million from the same source.

The money was aimed at financing ASMLA's activities, the court found.

The three have been held in jug in Denmark since February 2020, under special protection due to the nature of their case.

The case dates back to 2018 when one of the three was the target of a foiled attack on Danish soil believed to be sponsored by the Iranian regime in retaliation for the killing of 24 people in Ahvaz, southwestern Iran, in September 2018.

Tehran formally denied the attack plan in Denmark, but in 2020 a Danish court placed in durance vile
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
a Norwegian-Iranian for seven years for his role in the plot.

That attack put Danish authorities on the trail of the trio's ASMLA activities.

Inflation in Turkey Hits 20-Year High of Nearly 49%
Economics in the end just tracks the unavoidable consequences of the sum of all decisions, small and large. Wannabe neo-Ottoman sultan Recep Tayip Erdogan the First, “the much beloved”, has been making very large decisions, indeed. Still, the less he has to make mischief swanning about as the sultan reborn the better for the rest of the world.
[AnNahar] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
's annual inflation came in at nearly 49% on Thursday, hitting a nearly 20-year high and further eroding people's ability to buy even basic things like food.

The Ottoman Turkish Statistical Institute said the consumer price index increased by just over 11% in January from the previous month. The yearly increase in food prices was more than 55%, according to the data.

The inflation rate was the highest since April 2002 in a country that is facing an economic upheaval and currency crisis, triggered by a series of interest rate cuts.

President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
has declared himself an "enemy" of high interest rates, insisting that they cause inflation — a stance that contradicts established economic thinking.

Turkey's central bank has cut rates by 5 percentage points since September, to 14%, before pausing them in January.

Erdogan vowed this week that his government would "reduce the spiral of high inflation with each passing month" and completely eliminate it "after a while."

Opposition parties have questioned the Ottoman Turkish Statistical Institute's independence and have challenged its data. The independent Inflation Research Group put Turkey's actual annual inflation at a stunning 114.87%.

Last week, Erdogan replaced the head of the statistical institute. No reason was given for the change.

African Union suspends debate on Israel’s observer member status
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian Authority had urged union to withdraw Jewish state’s accreditation; diplomats say committee will be established to ’study the issue’.

The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
suspended a debate Sunday on whether to withdraw Israel’s accreditation, avoiding a vote that risked creating an unprecedented rift in the 55-member bloc.

"The Israel question has been suspended for now and instead there will be a committee set up to study the issue," a diplomat told AFP on the closing day of the AU’s annual summit in Addis Ababa.

The committee will present its findings at next year’s AU summit.

The relationship with Israel is a rare point of contention for a body that values consensus, with powerful member states, notably South Africa, loudly protesting a decision last July by Moussa Faki Mahamat, chair of the African Union Commission, to accept Israel’s accreditation to the bloc.

The six-member committee will include South Africa and Algeria, who opposed Faki’s move to accredit Israel, as well as Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
, who supported it, according to the diplomats.

Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
also asked to be on the committee, while South Africa requested the inclusion of Nigeria as well, the diplomats said.

The accreditation handed Israeli diplomats a victory they had been chasing for nearly two decades.

Israel was previously accredited at the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), but lost that status when the body was disbanded and replaced by the AU in 2002.

Seventy-two countries, regional blocs and organizations are already accredited, including North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and UNAIDS, according to the AU’s website.

Israeli police 'used Pegasus spyware to snoop on Benjamin Netanyahu's son and advisors' in growing privacy scandal
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Israeli police have illegally used Pegasus malware to hack the phones of dozens of prominent figures including Benjamin Netanyahu's son, according to new reports.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett vowed government action would be taken as the country's privacy scandals thickens.

The latest bombshell from business daily Calcalist alleged that Pegasus was used against a son of former premier Benjamin Netanyahu, Avner, and his advisors, as well as activists, senior government officials, businessmen and others.

Calcalist had previously reported that the controversial malware, which can turn a phone into a pocket spying device, was used by police against leaders of an anti-Netanyahu protest movement.

Pegasus is a malware product made by the Israeli firm NSO at the centre of a months-long international scandal following revelations that it was used by governments worldwide to spy on activists, politicians, journalists and even heads of state.

PM says Iran nuke deal won’t boost stability; implies it won’t stop Israeli strike
[IsraelTimes] Bennett’s comments come as the Vienna talks aimed at salvaging the moribund 2015 accord enter a critical phase

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett implied Sunday that Israel could launch a military strike against Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
even if the Islamic Theocratic Republic and world powers revive their 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA.

"The greatest threat against the State of Israel is Iran," Bennett said during the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem. "As the government, we are responsible for dealing with the Iranian nuclear program and, of course, we are monitoring the Vienna talks.

"Our position is well-known and clear: An agreement — according to the apparent terms — will damage the ability to deal with the nuclear program. Anyone who thinks that an agreement will increase stability is mistaken," he added, according to a readout from his office. "It will temporarily delay enrichment but all of us in the region will pay a heavy, disproportionate price for it."

Bennett accused Iran of ramping up its belligerence in recent weeks — seemingly alluding to a string of regional attacks by Tehran-aligned Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i rebels — despite its ongoing negotiations on returning to the nuclear deal.

"That is how you conduct negotiations, Tehran-style," the premier declared.

"We are currently closing gaps and building up Israel’s military strength for years and even decades to come. Israel will maintain freedom of action in any case, with or without an agreement," he added.

Bennett and Biden discuss Iran, killing of IS chief, in phone call

[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Bennett speaks with US President Joe Biden, lauding the American raid in which the head of the Islamic State terror group was killed and discussing efforts to block Iran’s nuclear program, the premier’s office says.

“The world is a safer place thanks to the brave efforts of American forces,” the prime minister tells the president, according to his office.

Bennett’s office says the two also discuss the threats posed by Iran in the region, as well as the “steps to block the Iranian nuclear program.

Biden REMOVES some Iran sanctions imposed by Trump - including unfreezing $29B in bank accounts overseas - in bid to return to Obama-era deal that three negotiators have resigned over
  • [Daily Mail UK] The Biden administration on Friday restored a sanctions waiver to Iran

  • Indirect talks between the United States and Iran on returning to the 2015 nuclear agreement has entered the final stretch

  • One official said it was not a signal Washington was reaching an understanding to return to the deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action

  • Waivers allowed foreign companies to carry out non-proliferation work to make it harder for Iranian nuclear sites to be used for weapons development

  • Waivers were rescinded by the United States in 2019 and 2020 under former President Donald Trump, who pulled out of the nuclear agreement

  • The United States and Iran have held eight rounds of indirect talks in Vienna since April aimed at reinstating the pact that lifted sanctions against Tehran

  • There has been no formal announcement on when the ninth round would start, but expectations intensified that it could be next week

  • After Trump pulled the United States out of the deal in 2018 and reimposed harsh sanctions, Iran gradually started violating the pact's nuclear curbs

  • Western diplomats now worry that its nuclear advancement leaves a very narrow window of time to return to the deal
