How Al Gore Amassed a $330 Million Climate Fortune by Terrifying Everyone
[Red State] Former Vice President and 2000 presidential election loser Al Gore has spent his post-political career warning anyone who will listen that the earth is in its death throes due to global warming (now called climate change because somehow that’s better).

His 2006 documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" amassed $49 million at the world box office and catapulted Al into the top ranks of climate hysterics, and he’s never looked back, constantly jetting to meetings around the world to preach his truth.

This week he’s at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, because of course he is.

Is he doing this because he truly believes what he’s saying, or because he cares so very much about you? While we can’t read his mind, one thing we do know for sure: climate change has been very, very good to Al Gore. Though he was worth approximately $1.7 million at the end of his vice presidency, he has now amassed an estimated $330 million fortune, owns houses in Virginia, California, and Tennessee, and receives a cool $2 million a month for a figurehead position at the Generation Investment Management green energy fund he founded with former Goldman Sachs Managing Director David W. Blood.

There are only two conclusions I can come to upon learning this news—1) I should have been a climate activist. 2) Hunter Biden has nothing on this guy.

If he’s so concerned about rising seas, why would Gore buy a huge oceanview mansion in flood-prone Montecito? One might ask the same question of former president Barack Obama, who dropped $12 million for a waterfront view on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.

Government Corruption
Former FBI Russian collusion investigator charged with Russian collusion.
See also here. [WashingtonFreeBeacon] Charles McGonigal is accused of conspiring to lift sanctions off Russian businessman with ties to Vladimir Putin.

A former FBI official involved in the investigation of the Trump campaign’s possible ties to Russia was charged Monday for violating sanctions on behalf of a Russian oligarch sanctioned by the U.S. government.

Charles McGonigal, who led the FBI’s counterintelligence division in New York, is accused of violating U.S. sanctions on behalf of Oleg Deripaska, a Russian aluminum magnate with close ties to Vladimir Putin. According to prosecutors, McGonigal and a former Russian diplomat conspired to have sanctions removed from Deripaska in 2021. They also investigated another Russian oligarch "in return for concealed payments" from Deripaska. Their effort was unsuccessful as Deripaska remains under sanctions. McGonigal, who was arrested on Monday, allegedly received $225,000 from a former Russian intelligence officer while he was still employed by the FBI.

The indictment marks a surprising twist given McGonigal’s involvement with the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s links to Russia. As a top counterintelligence official, McGonigal was one of the first individuals at the FBI to learn that a Trump campaign adviser had discussed Hillary Clinton’s emails with a foreign diplomat. The FBI opened its investigation of the Trump campaign based on that conversation, but later found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

McGonigal, who left the FBI in 2018, was involved in the bureau’s probe of Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, according to text messages released by Senate Republicans. "Our Team is currently talking to [Carter Page] re Russia," he wrote on March 16, 2017, to an FBI colleague.

It is unclear what other involvement McGonigal had in the Trump-Russia probe. But that investigation also scrutinized Deripaska’s relationship with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. Manafort and Deripaska had business dealings in Ukraine and maintained contact during the 2016 campaign.

Deripaska also has ties to former British spy Christopher Steele, who alleged in an infamous dossier that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election. The FBI relied heavily on Steele’s dossier for its investigation, but failed to verify the collusion allegations. Deripaska once hired Steele to work on a "research project" on his behalf.

It Looks Like Biden's Classified Documents Scandal Is About To Explode
[PJ] Joe Biden takes classified documents very seriously, so he says, but even after the search for classified documents has allegedly ended a couple of times now, it’s not yet over.

In the wake of more documents being discovered at Biden’s home in Wilmington, Del., the Department of Justice is now considering expanding its search for classified documents Biden may have absconded with, according to a report from CBS News.

"Justice Department officials are also considering the possibility of conducting other consensual searches at locations linked to Mr. Biden, said the source familiar with the investigation," the report says.

Related: On Classified Documents, Joe Biden Is Out of Excuses

So far, somewhere between 25 and 30 classified documents, some of which are marked top secret, have been discovered in Biden’s possession—either at his home in Wilmington or at his private office at the Penn Biden Center.

The decision to search more places for documents is a troubling development for Joe Biden and the White House team, who have clearly been caught off-guard by a scandal they had hoped to keep under wraps before it was leaked to the media a couple of weeks ago. But what exactly does it mean? Is this merely a precaution, or is the National Archives suddenly aware of missing documents that have yet to be accounted for?

Let’s not forget the National Archives knew what documents Trump had at Mar-a-Lago. So it stands to reason that the National Archives, which was reportedly unaware of the missing documents when Biden’s lawyers first discovered them, has since attempted to determine what else might be missing from Biden’s years as vice president and now believes there’s more out there to be discovered that they cannot account for. Where are these documents? Who knows? What are they about?

Don’t count on us finding out anytime soon. But they might just be sensitive enough that the DOJ, which is run by Biden wingman Merrick Garland, feels the need to conduct more "consensual" searches of locations linked to Joe Biden.

It sure looks like Biden’s classified documents scandal is about to explode.

#1  Like Covid the origins of this scandal may never be cleared up. Who was the initial whistle blower and what were his or her motivations? If they were MAGA, Republican or patriotic this would have spilled externally before the election. Instead there was an internal period of incompetent cleanup that failed and implicated more and more of the administration like a behemoth floundering in a tar pit.

#2  I still do not believe anything will come of this. The search has already been corrupted; are we going to believe any of the details of the files found? The classified files will all detail Biden’s absolute innocence of all scandals.

#6  Pardons are not like a can of spray paint that covers everything. Only specific crimes of which a person has been convicted can be pardoned.

So, the "pardon" scenario assumes Joe, Hunter et al are tried and convicted of specific crimes.

#15  Klain will get blamed for the coverup even though it was likely coordinated from a cross town basement. Biden is not going to jail.
This foul up has taken the wind out of the Mar-A-Lago scam and will put Biden in a bad negotiating position with respect to the Congressional investigations and Debt Ceiling fight. I don’t think he will likely escalate the Ukraine mess as popularity for that fight is waning among the American electorate. I think he will eventually exit once his master explains reality to Jill. There will be a waiting period of possibly a year while they get Hunter charged and pardoned in a way that makes future attempts to hold the prodigal accountable for issues missed in the pardon not worthwhile. Joe will need to let the investigations on these issues progress to the Nixon pre-impeachment stage so that Kamala can pardon him. They will also need to have a pre approved VP stooge ready that can clear the House blockade. It will not be any of the lightening rods. Gerald Ford was a lib GOP bozo that nobody had strong objection to.

Justice Department finds 6 more classified documents in search of Biden's home
[NYPOST] Federal Sherlocks found more classified materials during a search of President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. The guy who lost Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle......
’s Delaware home — with some dating back to his years in the Senate, Biden’s lawyer announced Saturday.

Bob Bauer, Biden’s newly acquired personal lawyer, said the Justice Department took six documents marked classified and some of Biden’s notes during a Friday search that lasted 13 hours.

The department "took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President," Bauer said in a statement.

Biden knew the Justice Department was coming to search through his Wilmington home, Bauer said, but neither the President nor the First Lady was present for the probe.

His lawyers and White House team witnessed Sherlocks conduct a "thorough search" of the residence, Bauer said.

Attorneys for Biden first found 10 pieces of classified materials at the Penn Biden Center in DC six days before the midterm elections. More sensitive materials were uncovered at the president’s Wilmington, Del., home, where Hunter frequently stayed.

The contents of the newly discovered documents, as well as the previously recovered material, remain unknown.

The White House was elusive Friday about why Biden was spending his weekend at his Rehoboth Beach, located 90 minutes away from where the Justice Department was rifling through his Wilmington home.

When asked if his weekend trip was related to the classified documents scandal, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre only said Biden "often travels to Delaware on the weekend. I don’t have anything else to share."

Posted by: Besoeker || 01/23/2023 4:14 Comments || Top||

#3  I think it will be late in his presidency but that Biden will eventually resign. His next scam will be the Joe Paterno gambit of saying you won’t seek re-election but allow him to finish out his term. This will allow him to pardon Hunter after all of the dirt has come out. He needs for Hunter to be fully charged so that Hunter can be fully pardoned. The power of the president to pardon is absolute, but I don’t think it includes a pardon for crimes not charged. The Nixon precedent is that he can’t pardon himself so he will need Kamala to take out that garbage for him. The resignation will happen late in the presidency because the VP approval process in the House is unpredictable at this point. Obama may need the interim coach, Kamala, to finish out the season. A long run for her will screw up season ticket sales for 2024.

Why New York City's drug death epidemic is no surprise
[NYPOST] Drug overdose deaths in New York City have hit a record high and it comes, tragically, as no surprise. As reported by the city Department of Health last week, 2,668 New Yorkers died from overdoses in 2021 — the logical (and deadly) result of a failed approach by "public health" authorities to the City’s fentanyl epidemic. While the data does not reveal every cause of this spike, this wave of death makes clear that the city’s endorsement of safe drug use, or harm reduction, has failed.

Indeed, acquiescence and acceptance are leading to death. Because anyone looking for public health campaigns that actually discourage drug use — similar to the high-profile prime-time ads warning against cigarette smoking — would have looked in vain this past year in New York City.

Instead, last May, passengers on subways and buses were treated to the city’s "Let’s Talk Fentanyl" campaign. It was less a warning than a tutorial. "Start with a small dose and go slowly," one placard urged. Make sure to have naloxone, the overdose antidote, on hand, the posters noted. That nodding junkies high on fentanyl might fail to act prudently apparently did not occur to public health "authorities".
