[NYPOST] A Florida man who fatally beat his wife with a bat and later strangled their four kids was sentenced to death Friday.
At a brief hearing, Ocala County Judge Anthony Tatti formalized Michael Jones’ fate after a jury recommended the death penalty at a January sentencing trial.
A lawyer for the quintuple killer said he plans to appeal the sentence, according to the Ocala Star Banner.
The grisly July 2019 deaths were triggered after Jones’ wife, Casei Jones, accused him of cheating on her after she combed through his phone.
Jones later told cops that his wife raised a bat during a vicious fight inside their Marion County home and that he bludgeoned her to death with the weapon in a blind fury.
The four young children — two of whom he shared with his spouse — were asleep during the beating and did not wake up.
Jones told Sherlocks he wrapped his wife’s corpse in blankets, stuffed it in a tote bag, and placed it in a closet in their home.
The panicked killer then used her cellphone to post items on her social media accounts to conceal her death, the Ocala Star Banner reported.

[PAGESIX] Lawrence Jones, who made history as the youngest black solo host of a program in cable news, is stepping in to fill ousted Tucker Carlson’s slot on Fox News next week.
Jones, 30, who anchors "Lawrence Jones Cross Country" on Fox News on Saturday nights, will host in Carlson’s former 8 p.m. slot from Monday as the network continues with a rotating line-up of anchors.
Garland, Texas, native Jones joined the network in December 2018, and was named the host of the weekend primetime program "Lawrence Jones Cross Country" in January 2022.
A media insider told us, "Fox News is trying out a rotating list of anchors in Tucker’s spot — this week it has been ’Fox & Friends" Brian Kilmeade — but it is significant that they have chosen Jones to step up so soon after Tucker’s departure."
Jones — who pulls in 1 million viewers and 108,000 in the demo in his 10 p.m. Saturday slot — lives in Dallas, but is in New York on Fridays and Saturdays for his show.
He works much of the week as an enterprise news hound for "Fox & Friends," where he is the program’s national correspondent.
Jones, who worked in the Obama campaign when he was 15, reported live from Uvalde, Texas, after the mass shooting that killed 19 children and two adults, and has also covered the death of Tyre Nichols, the Idaho murders, nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd and the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on minority communities across the country.
He recently told the Dallas Morning News, "I never thought I would be doing this job. I think my classmates will tell you and my parents would say that I always had an opinion. I was always advocating for someone involved with politics in some form or fashion."
Jones also told the newspaper it was Sean Hannity who first offered him a correspondent role on Fox.
I told him no, I didn’t think it was a good idea, ’Because I’m a libertarian, and we’re going to disagree a lot,’" Jones said. "And he said, ’Oh, that’s OK. Just be you.’ And I said, ’No, we’re really going to disagree.’ He goes, ’Just give it a shot.’ And that turned from two months, into a year. And he said, ’Listen, LJ, if you just be you, you’ll have your own show.’"
He added, "I may have a godparent of every single race. And so, people often ask me: How am I able to report on a story in the south side of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... and then go to Iowa to do a diner for ’Fox & Friends’? And it’s because I grew up around all these different types of people. It has allowed me to really go within any different crowd and understand their grievances and understand the things that matter to them the most."

Nice guy, not ready or suited for the centerpiece of the lineup. I suspect they want to let the passion/anger drain off before trying to find a long-term fix. Any serious options already in their stable (Hannity, Ingram, Waters, Roberts, etc) must be concerned about damage to their individual brand if they take the "Tucker" spot and get branded as "less". My sense is that Fox has diminished the brand permanently, and once it is inevitably put on the market, will just be joining CNN, MSNBC as the second tier behind ABC/NBC/CBS permanently.

Tucker viewers are gone. Any viewers left are not Tucker viewers. Any new host will just be bringing their own audience. If Tucker signs someplace else, 100% plus will move with him. It is like the Letterman move. Leno had his own fans. McCrib lady is not showing up for McNuggets.

[Epoch Times] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recalled two Disney-branded and themed hand sanitizers after traces of cancer-causing chemicals and methanol were discovered, it announced.
FDA testing found that a Mandalorian-branded hand sanitizer and a Mickey Mouse-branded hand sanitizer contained benzene and methanol, respectively, according to the federal drug regulator in an April 1 news release.
Labels uploaded by the FDA show that the two products are both made in China. The FDA recall notice doesn’t list where the products were made.

The article does not define "top up" but that reads like whatever is required by law PLUS two weeks. A quick goog suggests that in Michigan and Cali that would be 12 weeks required + 2 = 14 weeks which is approximately 3.5 months.
Some experts would rate this article as Whiny and Misleading. Maybe the NY Post is trying to sell something.

Understanding dollarization and how it affects both the United States and other countries is prudent. And it’s important to know why more countries are calling for de-dollarization and how that affects the U.S. economy.
The U.S. dollar is still mostly dominant among global foreign exchange reserves. But its share in central banks has dropped from 1999’s 70 percent. By the fourth quarter of 2022, the U.S. dollar accounted for 58.36 percent of foreign exchange reserves. The euro is second with 20.5 percent, while the Chinese yuan is 2.7 percent.
China’s yuan has a long way to go before it can rival the dollar. And China is operating under current account restrictions, such as its limitations on capital flow.
But de-dollarization is now part of the international landscape and should be watched. There may not be a total break from the dollar, but another player may step up.

In a Twitter post, he further alleges that the way the greenback has been weaponized as key economic sanctions on other countries will soon have a negative impact on the US economy.
The tech billionaire entrepreneur says other countries at some point will no longer want to use the US dollar, to free themselves from dependence on America and its diktats.
" Based on data from Morgan Stanley, since 2001, the dollar had slipped considerably in world trade. De-dollarization is real and is happening fast," the user said. "Dollar share went from 73% (2001) to 55% (2020). Went from 55% to 47% since sanctions launched on Russia, now de-dollarizing at 10x faster than the previous two decades. #gold #silver."
Musk agreed with this analysis. "If you weaponize currency enough times, other countries will stop using it," the Tesla chief said on Twitter on April 25.
For many weeks, speculation has been circulating about the decline of the dollar, the currency of world trade since the end of the Second World War.

Why is this important to us? It's beause we love to consume more than we produce (aka work.) And so we run these huge trade deficits with the rest of the world and pay them in greenbacks.
When the dollar is the international currency, they are happy to accept the greenbacks. So as long as our printing presses work, we can consume a lot more than we produce (aka work.)
If the dollar is no longer the international currency, then other countries will not accept just greenbacks. They'll demand that we work and actually produce real goods and services that we can trade to them for the things we import.
In other words, the gravy train will be over.

Seigniorage. To cross a border you need the other guy's currency or something they will accept. In Ye Olde Days the local goldsmith would weigh the coins, assay the metal content and make the exchange ...easier than today's market. When the US was an industrial powerhouse everybody had a need for our currency --- if not for themselves then someone else would need it for their own trade. With the US deindustrializing there just isn't that need any more.
