25 Civilians Killed in 48 Hours in Sudan: Activists, Medic

Five non-combatants were killed by bombs that "fell on their homes" in Khartoum, a Sudan
......
ese medical source told AFP, a day after an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in the city’s south killed at least 20 civilians.

Residents of the war-torn capital reported the city was again pummeled by artillery and rocket fire Sunday, in the fifth month of war between the army and paramilitary fighters.

"The corpse count from the aerial bombardment" in southern Khartoum late Saturday "has risen to 20 civilian fatalities," according to a statement from the neighborhood’s resistance committee. They are among many volunteer groups that used to organize pro-democracy demonstrations and now aid families caught in the line of fire.

In an earlier statement, they said the victims included two children, and warned that more fatalities went unrecorded, as "their bodies could not be moved to the hospital because they were severely burned or torn to pieces in the bombing."

Since war began between the regular army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces on April 15, around 5,000 people have been killed, according to conservative estimates from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data project.

The Sudanese Armed Forces control the skies and have carried out regular airstrikes while RSF fighters dominate the streets of the capital.

Western countries have accused the paramilitaries and allied militias of killings based on ethnicity in the western Darfur region, and the International Criminal Court has opened a new probe into alleged war crimes.

The army has also been accused of abuses, including a July 8 airstrike that killed around two dozen civilians.

Ugandan police detain man suspected of planning bomb attack on Kampala church

Police in Uganda said Sunday they had detained a 28-year-old man entering a church in the capital Kampala with an bomb he planned to use for an attack there.

Authorities were hunting three other men also believed to have been sent on similar bombing missions elsewhere in Uganda, police said.

The motives were unclear, but the Islamic State

The suspect, identified as Kintu Ibrahim, was detained as he was about to enter a Pentecostal church, Lubaga Miracle Center, in the Lubaga suburb of south Kampala.

Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango told journalists security personnel had picked up intelligence about attacks planned on places of worship and that they had tracked Ibrahim.

"We got information that one terrorist had already been sent out to go and carry out a mission, so they followed the terrorist," he said.

Onyango said the suspect had a bag with an improvised bomb which police detonated safely. During interrogation, Onyango said, he confessed he had three accomplices who had also been sent to carry out similar attacks.

"He’s helping us locate those people," Onyango said, adding that the suspect was being held on terrorism related charges.

Europe
Two arrested amid Sweden riots after latest Quran burning
[IsraelTimes] Swedish police say they arrested two people and detained around 10 others after a violent mostly peaceful riot broke out at a protest involving a burning of the Koran, police said.

The protest was organized by Iraqi refugee Salwan Momika, whose protests — which have included public desecrations of the Moslem holy book — have sparked outrage across the Middle East.

Sunday’s protest was held in a square in the southern city of Malmo, which has a large immigrant population, and according to public broadcaster SVT around 200 people had showed up to watch.

"Some onlookers have shown upset feelings, after the organizer burned writings," police say in a statement.

"The mood was at times heated," the statement says, adding that a "violent mostly peaceful riot" occurred.

Local media report that some onlookers threw rocks at Momika, and video from the scene showed some trying to break through the cordon before being stopped by police.

In another video a man could be scene trying to stop the police car that transported Momika from the location by getting in front of it.

Through a series of demonstrations, Momika has sparked anger directed at Sweden and diplomatic tensions between Sweden and several Middle Eastern countries.

In July, Israel protested after Sweden gave permission to a protester to burn a Torah, though the demonstrator said he only intended to make a point about the Koran burning
...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women's noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship....
s and never planned to set a Torah alight.

Terrorist killed, two security personnel injured as encounter breaks out in Reasi
[GreaterKashmir] A terrorist was killed and a policeman maimed in an encounter in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. on Monday, police said.

A senior police official said that the encounter broke out in the Tuli area of Chassana following inputs about the presence of two terrorists.

"Encounter started at #Reasi on the basis of #Police input regarding presence of 02 terrorists," said ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh on X (formerly Twitter).

[Shafaq News] A local official in Saladin on Monday announced the completion of a large-scale plan to secure the critical djinn-infested Mosul

-Baghdad highway after purging a town recognized a frontline against ISIS krazed killer groups.

Hatem Talak al-Shammari, the Director of the sub-district of Tulul al-Baj in northwestern Saladin, told Shafaq News Agency, "the security forces have reinforced the sub-district with additional troops from the army, police, and the Popular Mobilization Units. Furthermore, a new police center has been established to ensure the safety of Tulul al-Baj, its environs, and the pivotal 40km stretch of the strategic road linking Mosul to Baghdad."

Al-Shammari said that the security forces have advanced three kilometers towards the outskirts of Nineveh to safeguard the vital route.

This proactive move was essential, considering the looming threats from ISIS in recent months, he added.

"There have been no recorded incidents or movements of ISIS elements, who have now retreated to distant locales due to the tightened security net," he concluded.

Terrorist behind camp Speicher massacre arrested
2023-08-30
[Shafaq News] On Wednesday, the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA announced the apprehension of a terrorist responsible for orchestrating the Camp Speicher massacre, in which numerous individuals, including military students and security personnel, were killed.

The perpetrator had subsequently fled Iraq following the military campaign against ISIS.

In an official statement issued today, the Ministry of Interior revealed that the intelligence agency in Nineveh governorate successfully arrested the "most high-profile criminal involved in the execution of military students at Camp Speicher." Additionally, this individual was responsible for executing a group of civilians and actively participated in various bombing operations.

"The arrest was executed based on precise intelligence information from the Intelligence Agency in Nineveh Governorate. The agency successfully lured the criminal back into Iraq from a neighboring country where he had sought refuge after sustaining injuries during the liberation battles. To evade authorities, the criminal had assumed his brother's identity through document forgery."

According to the statement, the accused provided a detailed confession, admitting to his role in the execution of military students at Camp Speicher. Furthermore, he confessed to his involvement in the execution and abduction of civilians, planting bombs targeting federal police forces, and affiliating with ISIS within the so-called "Zat al-Sawari" group. The accused will be handed over to the relevant authorities in preparation for his appearance before the court to face appropriate legal consequences.

During the Camp Speicher massacre in 2014, ISIS ruthlessly killed approximately 2,000 individuals, including aviation college students and security personnel, within the military base in Saladin Governorate. The incident garnered widespread condemnation, and ISIS grabbed credit, releasing disturbing images and videos showcasing their hard boyz shooting the victims at close range.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israeli citizens caught smuggling explosives from Jordan for Islamic Jihad
[JPost] Two Israeli citizens from the Tulkarm area were arrested while smuggling firearms and explosives for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist movement from Jordan in early August, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) said on Tuesday.

The two were identified as Samer Farid Ghanam Knoh and Osama Nissim Ghazi Harouf, the latter of whom is known for his connections to terrorist operatives.

Another unnamed individual from the same area was arrested as well.

On August 3, Knoh and Harouf were caught smuggling firearms and explosives at the Jordanian border, with four handguns and four explosive devices found in their possession.

A photo of the devices showed that the explosive devices were MON-50 anti-personnel mines (similar to a Claymore mine) produced in Russia and Bulgaria. It is unclear where the weapons were being sourced from.

An investigation by the Shin Bet and police revealed that the two had been recruited by terrorist operatives in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Jenin refugee camp to smuggle weapons.

They were also found to be involved in transferring funds and weapons to terrorists in the Nur Shams refugee camp near Tulkarm. The two admitted that they were handled by operatives in Nur Shams.

On Tuesday, an indictment was filed at the Nazareth District Court.

Police said the central unit of the Northern District and the border unit of the police took part in the investigation, in coordination with the Central District.

“This incident once again illustrates the efforts of terrorist elements to promote military activity against the IDF and Israeli citizens, including repeated attempts to smuggle illegal weapons through the country’s borders,” the Shin Bet said on Tuesday.

Terrorist groups continue attempts to smuggle explosives to Israel, West Bank

The announcement comes a day after exports through the Kerem Shalom crossing were halted after the Defense Ministry thwarted an attempt to smuggle several kilograms of explosive material from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

Inspectors at the Kerem Shalom crossing found the highly explosive material hidden among a shipment of clothing. The defense establishment suspects that the explosives were intended for terrorist elements, although a statement by the Defense Ministry did not clarify where the shipment was headed.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Palestinian man was killed as Israeli forces destroyed explosives being stored in the Nur Shams camp. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds Brigades stated that Ayed Abu Harb, the Palestinian killed in the clashes, was a member of their local branch.

During clashes which erupted as Israeli forces operated in the camp, a large explosive device was reportedly detonated under an IDF military bulldozer, with footage reportedly from the scene showing the explosion.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the IDF and Border Police destroyed many ready-to-use explosives in Nur Shams after receiving intelligence about them from the Shin Bet.

Last week, the IDF cleared for publication a report that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle Iranian-produced explosives from Jordan to Israel in July.

At the end of July, the IDF had announced that it had thwarted an “unusual” weapons smuggling attempt in the Jordan Valley near Ashdot Yaakov. It is estimated that the explosives were intended for terrorist organizations in the West Bank.

Two weeks ago, the Shin Bet announced that Israeli citizens from Lod and Kafr Kassem had been arrested and indicted after receiving Iranian-made explosives and ammunition through Hezbollah. The Israeli citizens intended to use the weapons for criminal purposes.

Additionally, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently stated that the wave of terrorist attacks in the West Bank was being “encouraged, directed and financed by Iran and its affiliates.”

Two Palestinians arrested over April attack on kibbutz near northern West Bank
[IsraelTimes] The Shin Bet security agency says Israeli forces arrested a Paleostinian gunman suspected of carrying out a shooting attack targeting Kibbutz Meirav, adjacent to the northern West Bank border barrier, in April.

Yusef Abu al-Roub, 32, from the West Bank town of Jalbun near Jenin, allegedly shot up the town on April 18, damaging a home.

The Shin Bet says a second suspect, Mohammed al-Roub, 35, affiliated with the Islamic State

jihadist group, was arrested for allegedly supplying the gun to al-Roub.

The weapon, a makeshift Carlo Gustav sub-machine gun, was handed over to security forces at the Salem checkpoint by Yusef’s father, the Shin Bet says.

Yusef confessed to have carried out the attack and told interrogators that he had taken pictures of the kibbutz over the course of several months and sent them to Mohammed.

He claimed he had carried out a string of shootings against Israeli forces in the area, the Shin Bet says, without confirming the claim.

Both were charged last week with serious security offenses, the agency adds.
