Denver homeless camp has decked-out open-air BAR that also rents out tents for prostitution
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] All the comforts of home.
  • A pop-up bar has been set up in Denver on sidewalk at 23rd and Champa streets which the city's growing homeless population has turned into an encampment

  • It features lounge chairs and umbrellas and one of the the tents looks to have been transformed into a streetside bar with reports of alcohol being sold

  • The camp has been decorated with couches, rugs and tables and dozens of liquor bottles have been proudly put on display

Meghan Shay, an executive at homeless aid group Step Denver, said serving alcohol to vulnerable people would worsen the city's homeless issue and pointed to a report which shows over 80 percent of homeless people have experienced lifetime alcohol and, or drug problems.

Shay added that a report on street mortality showed drugs and alcohol caused 60 percent of homeless deaths in 2022.

Her organization Step Denver helps homeless men deal with mental health issues and recover from addiction.

The Denver metropolitan area has seen a 32 percent rise in homelessness this year compared to 2022.

It had 9,065 unhoused people in January compared to 6,884 the year before, according to data collected by the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative.

Libya floods: Level of destruction 'never seen before', death toll reaches 11,300
[AFRICANEWS] The current extent of the devastation caused by floods in eastern Liby is becoming apparent. The provisional corpse count stood at 11,300, secretary-general of the Libyan Red Islamic Thingy said late Thursday (Sep. 14).

Untold numbers are buried under mud and debris that includes overturned cars and chunks of concrete.

The collapse of two dams in the aftermath of torrential rain caused the most destruction.

The Permanent Representative of Libya to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
, referred to the catastrophe as "something never seen in Libya before."

"[...] the numbers are changing as we speak. I mean, the numbers are thousands", Taher El-Sonni said on Thursday morning.

"[...] The direct hit came to an area where it`s around 30,000. And as we speak now, many of those are either being in a rescue effort or missing because they were hit badly when that happens. So I cannot really confirm the final numbers, but it`s really a high level of magnitude. And I`m afraid we will hear really large numbers, maybe even more than what has been confirmed so far."

Libya's eastern administration in Benghazi city approved a budget of nearly 2 billion $US to help flood-affected areas.

The parliament also announced a committee had been set up to follow up on measures to deal with the aftermath of the floods.

The World Health Organization said it was releasing funds to support Libya in addition to 28 metric tons of trauma, surgical, emergency supplies due to arrive on Friday.

International aid is progressively arriving. And local administrations continue search efforts.

The deadly floods that devastated eastern Libya after storm Daniel.

Libya is divided between two rival administrations, one in the east and one in the west.

In the midst of hardship, as government agencies across the country rushed to help the affected areas.

As of Wednesday (Sep.13), at least 30,000 people were displaced by the flooding in the port-city of Derna.

The World Meteorological Organization head Petteri Taalas said "The emergency management authorities would have been able to carry out the evacuation If there was a normal operating meteorological service."

Taher El-Sonni, the permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the United Nations added that "In terms of the early warning. I mean, we knew that there was a storm and people were warned that there is a storm going to come, but nobody expected the magnitude. I mean, unfortunately, the city is infrastructure was not that perfect. But still, with the magnitude of such flood, two dams were damaged and blasted and went kaboom!. And that`s why the real corpse count increased because of that flood that came more than the eye of the storm hit the city itself. So it was just unfortunately all this together which led to that."

Africa Subsaharan
UN: before the General Assembly, the DRC warns of 'aggression' by Rwanda
[AFRICANEWS] On the eve of the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
General Assembly, the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
warned Thursday of the "humanitarian tragedy" and the "damage" caused by the "aggression" of Rwanda, accused of supporting a rebellion in the East of its territory.

Before the press in Kinshasa, the Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, Patrick Muyaya , and the Minister of Justice Rose Mutombo , presented "volume II" of a "white paper" documenting, according to them, "the scale of the disaster .

The first version, in December 2022, had already "demonstrated the proven aggression of the DRC by Rwanda" , declared Patrick Muyaya, who spoke of "irrefutable proof of criminal activities led by the Rwandan army with its M23 auxiliaries " .

The M23 rebels, for "March 23 Movement" , seized large swaths of territory in the province of North Kivu last year , which they still occupy today.

From the start, against a backdrop of tense relations between the two countries for nearly 30 years, Kinshasa has accused Kigali of fighting alongside this rebellion. UN experts have confirmed this support, which has been condemned by several Western chancelleries but which Rwanda still does not recognize.

For Kinshasa, Rwanda's objective is to "keep this part of the country unstable to continue its work of plunder" of the region's resources, particularly mining.

The document presented Thursday, which "complements" the previous one, summarizes the consequences of this situation in terms of "humanitarian, health, educational, social, economic, electoral" , detailed the government spokesperson.

Patrick Muyaya notably mentioned "more than 2.3 million displaced people" , hundreds of schools destroyed or occupied, "incalculable" damage to the Virunga national park, a "shortfall" in millions of dollars in revenue. customs...

This situation also has "an impact on the electoral process" , since, he explained, "the populations in the areas under occupation have not yet been enrolled" (registered on the electoral lists) for the general elections of next December.

Britain
UK Government Moves to Begin Jailing ‘Climate Deniers'
[h/t Gates of Vienna] British lawmakers are advancing a disturbing piece of legislation that seeks to begin jailing so-called "climate deniers" who fail to comply with the green agenda.
Isn’t the current government there Tory, not Labour?
The UK Government introduced legislation related to enforcing globalist "Net Zero" measures.

However, the bill has set off major alarm bells amongst freedom-loving citizens across the country.

Many are questioning some of the draconian "Net Zero" measures contained in the flagship Energy Bill.

Last week, the legislation cleared the Commons at the third reading.

Buried in the Energy Bill are new laws that see property owners facing criminal charges for opposing the "Net Zero" goals.

Under this new legislation, those who fail to comply with the green agenda will be punished for their role in contributing to the alleged "climate crisis."

Citizens who fail to adhere to energy consumption regulations could face imprisonment for up to a year and fines of up to £15,000 ($18,700).

Prosecutions may also occur for providing false information about energy efficiency.

China ratchets up ‘carrot and stick’ pressure on Taiwan
[BenarNews] The Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee this week issued a planning document on turning Fujian — China’s province closest to Taiwan — into a demonstration zone for "integrated development" with Taiwan.

State-owned nationalist tabloid the Global Times called the plan a "blueprint" for Taiwan’s development as the Chinese aircraft carrier Shandong led the largest number of warships seen in years into the waters to the east of the island.

Large numbers of warplanes have been probing at Taiwan’s median line of defense, a tactic that seldom occurs in tandem with the collaborative deployment of an aircraft carrier group.

President Trump warns auto workers about CCP threat
[Breitbart] Former President Donald Trump is warning America’s auto workers that President Joe Biden’s green energy agenda will outsource their jobs to China as the United Auto Workers (UAW) goes on strike against General Motors (GM), Ford, and Stellantis.

As Breitbart News Economics Editor John Carney details, nearly 13,000 UAW members have started striking against three automakers as contract negotiations have yet to deliver assurances that Biden’s rapid push for Electric Vehicles (EVs) will not jeopardize their wages and jobs.

"The Biden administration has been pushing policies to electrify most new vehicles within a decade or so," Carney writes. "That rush toward electric vehicles will mean a rapid decline in payrolls for autoworkers—even as the automakers enjoy Inflation Reduction Act subsidies."

Trump, in an interview with CNBC, aligned himself with auto workers and warned them that the Biden administration, paired with UAW leadership, is not only not stopping China from gaining economic dominance over the EV industry but actively working to hand the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) full control of EV supply chains.

"The auto workers will not have any jobs ... because all of these cars are going to be made in China. The electric cars, automatically, are going to be made in China," Trump said:

#1  Remember according to the LSD run Biden Admin.
The Climate (Ice-Age, Warming or Change) goal, was to eliminate all fossil fuels and vehicles by 2030, which is now pushed out to 2050.

This would effectively trash over 279m ++ personal and commercial owned vehicles registered in the U.S.

Given even Eco-friendly Eco-Mandated California had the highest rate of EV ownership in the USA, which was ONLY 1.61% of all registered vehicles in the state as of 2021.

Sounds like a massive $100 Billion retool of the Auto Industry, in a severely inflated and depressed economy would be needed to switch to ONLY EV's.

So what will the UAW be building 279 Million replacement vehicles from and with?

And/Or will Government step in, and "regulate /control travel and slowly implement restrictions?

'Empty shelves with absolutely no books': Students, parents question school board's library weeding process
[CBC] Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.

Those are all examples of books Reina Takata says she can no longer find in her public high school library in Mississauga, Ont., which she visits on her lunch hour most days.

In May, Takata says the shelves at Erindale Secondary School were full of books, but she noticed that they had gradually started to disappear. When she returned to school this fall, things were more stark.
It's rare that kids can read.
"This year, I came into my school library and there are rows and rows of empty shelves with absolutely no books," said Takata, who started Grade 10 last week.

She estimates more than 50 per cent of her school's library books are gone.

In the spring, Takata says students were told by staff that "if the shelves look emptier right now it's because we have to remove all books [published] prior to 2008."

Takata is one of several Peel District School Board (PDSB) students, parents and community members CBC Toronto spoke to who are concerned about a seemingly inconsistent approach to a new equity-based book weeding process implemented by the board last spring in response to a provincial directive from the Minister of Education.
Oh, Canadian Kids!
They say the new process, intended to ensure library books are inclusive, appears to have led some schools to remove thousands of books solely because they were published in 2008 or earlier.
Well, Canada. Where Justin Trudeau’s totalitarians total everything they possibly can. I wouldn’t be surprised if similar things are happening south of our northern border, but this particular story is Canadian.

Government Corruption
DOJ Defies House Judiciary Committee – Refuses to Allow FBI Agent Elvis Chan to Testify Before Congress on His Role in Suppressing Hunter Biden Laptop Story
[MAIL via Gateway] The Department of Justice on Friday blocked testimony by agent Elvis Chan before the House Judiciary Committee.

Chan was involved in the Big Tech’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story weeks before the 2020 election in order to help Joe Biden.

The Daily Mail reported:

The Department of Justice pulled a last-minute maneuver to block an FBI agent allegedly involved in Big Tech’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story from testifying before Congress.

The House Judiciary Committee is investigating whether Hunter Biden’s laptop was downplayed by social media companies. As part of the probe, Chairman Jim Jordan uncovered that an FBI agent involved in the saga — Elvis Chan — lied about the computer.

Chan had agreed to voluntarily appear Friday to provide the committee testimony and be represented by his personal counsel.

Agency witnesses are allowed to bring either agency counsel or personal counsel to committee interviews, but not both. The rule is set up so agency witnesses can be more candid in testimony without fear of professional retribution, according to the committee.

But two sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell DailyMail.com that DOJ derailed the testimony because agency counsel also showed up Friday morning. As a result, Chan’s interview did not take place as planned.

Now, an official subpoena is expected to be issued later Friday for Chan to appear for a transcribed interview next Thursday, Sept. 21.

This is not the first time the DOJ refused to allow Chan to testify.

In November a Louisiana Federal Judge just spanked the Biden regime and ordered Elvis Chan to sit for a deposition in the Missouri-Louisiana case against the Biden regime.

Gateway Pundit readers know that The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft is a co-Plaintiff, along with the states of Missouri and Louisiana, in suing the Biden Administration (Missouri, et al, v. Biden, et al) , Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the DOJ, Jen Psaki, Anthony Fauci, Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, and other federal agents and agencies for colluding with Big Tech to censor Americans all across the nation.

The FBI sent out Agent Elvis Chan last year to ensure Americans that the 2022 midterm election will be "the safest election yet." This was after he was caught up in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

Pig kidney transplanted in a human lasted for TWO MONTHS in new record that could be a breakthrough for organ donations
[DM] A pig kidney transplanted into a brain-dead man continued to function for two months, marking the longest time a non-human organ has survived in a human.

The procedure, conducted on July 14, implanted the kidney in 58-year-old Maurice 'Mo' Miller, whose body was donated by his family after he was declared dead by neurologic criteria and maintained with a beating heart on ventilator support.

The experiment concluded Wednesday when doctors removed the genetically modified organ, and Miller's sister said her final goodbyes.

Surgeons at NYU Langone Health, who performed the experiment, determined no differences in how the pig kidney reacted to human hormones, excreted antibiotics or experienced medicine-related side effects.

It is the latest in a string of developments renewing hope for animal-to-human transplants, or xenotransplantation, after decades of failure as people's immune systems attacked the foreign tissue.

A previous attempt saw the organ only last for 72 hours before it was rejected.

Crisis averted...for now: Pilot reveals why planes barely avoiding tragedy as terrified passengers speak out
[FoxNews] A commercial airline pilot revealed to Fox News Digital what he believes is the reason for an uptick in close-call incidents involving aircraft in the U.S., and what must be done to fix the country's travel system.

According to data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), there have been 1,583 close-call incidents in fiscal year 2023 versus fiscal year 2022, which had 1,730 such incidents.

A letter to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Sept. 5 from the House Oversight Committee stated that recent close-call incidents have "eroded the public’s confidence in air and rail safety and necessitates thorough investigation."

According to a New York Times report, the number of voluntary submissions involving close calls has more than doubled over the past decade with 300 incidents involving commercial airlines in the past 12 months, but doesn't say if the increased figure is a result of an increase in such incidents or more frequent reporting.
Bottom line is that a large number of experienced, Air Force-trained pilots retired or quit rather than get the mandatory Covid shot. And their replacements are young civilians who are flight school-trained, which I imagine to be considerably less rigorous, then thrown in the deep end rather than getting a long apprenticeship sitting junior to one of those retired Air Force types.

#7  "United Airlines flight to Rome diverts back to Newark, drops 28,000 feet in 10 minutes"

Oh My! The dreaded 2,800 fpm descent! Any certificated pilot who has not performed a cross-controlled 5,000 fpm descent (with make-believe smoke/fire/gremlins coming out of the engine cowling) during training had incomplete instruction (imo).

The article states there was a pressurization issue with the a/c. Although not an "emergency" per se (Payne Stewart and like excepted), an aircraft subject to an inability to maintain cabin pressure (12,500 MSL for a max of 30-minutes, 14,000 MSL at any time - aircrew-required pressure altitude numbers) should descend (10,000 MSL is a good number) to maintain the pressure necessary to deliver, without equipment assistance, O2 to the lungs.

If a descent is unavailable and cabin pressure altitude is maintained (12,500 / 14,000) the pax would fall asleep, while the flight crew, per FAR regs, would be wearing supplemental O2 equipment.

Granted, the nap may become permanent in extended and extreme circumstances (again, see Payne Stewart), but I have heard of old-timey charter pilots dialing up the cabin pressure altimeter to quiet down a distractively raucous cabin.
