#1  Guess who? -

Iran has deployed personnel from its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to Yemen, according to Semafor’s Jay Solomon, who reports they are “playing a direct role in Houthi rebel attacks on commercial traffic in the Red Sea.” The advisers include missile and drone trainers and operators and personnel providing intelligence support to the Houthis. Iran has also transferred drones, cruise missiles, and medium-range ballistic missiles to them through its Qods Force." - link

So the war that started with the storming of the American Embassy in Tehran is turning hotter.

Yemen airstrikes news roundup
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
US confirmed that the Houthis hit a container ship in the Red Sea with a missile.

[Regnum] On January 15, the leadership of the US Armed Forces admitted that the Houthis hit an American container ship in the Red Sea with a missile attack. There were no casualties in the attack, US Central Command officials said.

“On January 15, the Iranian-backed Houthis launched an anti-ship ballistic missile from Yemen and struck the Marshall Islands-flagged, US-owned and operated container ship M/V Gibraltar Eagle,” the report said.

Earlier on January 15, Reuters reported that a US-owned ship (according to the agency, a cargo carrier) came under rocket fire off the coast of Yemen. According to these data, the attack led to a fire in the hold, but no one was injured, and the ship continued to remain afloat.

The Royal Navy's Office of Maritime Trade reported an incident off the coast of Yemen on January 15 and advised ships to proceed through the area with extreme caution. One of the ships was hit by an air strike, the department said. According to Sky TV channel, a fire started on the ship.

On the same day, Houthi leaders announced that they would be able to inflict a strategic defeat on the United States if the confrontation continued. After aggression from Washington, Yemen will become a cemetery for Americans, and the United States will leave the region humiliated, said the head of the movement, Ali al-Kahum.

On the night of January 12, the United States and Britain, with the support of the international coalition, launched strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. The US Air Force attacked more than 60 Houthi targets using over 100 precision-guided munitions of various types. The targets of the air raid were drone production centers and weapons depots. In addition, the United States struck an additional blow on January 13.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the strikes carried out by the American and British armed forces on targets in Yemen are a threat to peace and global security. Russia calls on the international community to condemn the attack by a group of countries led by the United States, it added.

Previously, US President Joseph Biden made efforts to help resolve the Yemen crisis and even revised the Trump administration's approach to the Houthis, removing them from the list of terrorist organizations, and now Washington may be the one who will finally blow up the peace in the Middle East, because the Biden administration ended up being held hostage by the current Israeli authorities, noted IA Regnum columnist Kirill Semyonov in his publication.

Missile hits a US-owned ship off the coast of Yemen

[Regnum] A ship belonging to the United States of America was hit by a missile off the coast of Yemen, Reuters reported on January 15.

According to preliminary information, the cargo ship's crew was not injured.

The UK Navy's Maritime Trade Coordination Office (UKMTO) confirmed a missile hit a ship 95 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Aden. According to him, the strike was carried out from the air. However, no other details of the incident are provided.

In turn, the British company Ambrey, specializing in maritime security, reported that the ship could belong to the United States and fly the flag of the Marshall Islands.

As Regnum reported, earlier that day the Yemeni Houthis expressed confidence that they would be able to inflict a strategic defeat on the United States if the confrontation continued. According to senior Houthi leader Ali al-Kahum, after this aggression, Yemen will become a cemetery for Americans, and the United States will leave the region humiliated. He added that the people and leaders of Yemen are fully prepared to engage in “direct and all-out war with the United States” and to defend the Palestinians.

The next day, the US launched an additional strike against the Houthis. An American aircraft carrier using a Tomahawk missile attacked a Houthi radar in Yemen.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the strikes carried out by the American and British armed forces on targets in Yemen are a threat to peace and global security. Russia calls on the international community to condemn the attack by a group of countries led by the United States, it added.

Houthis confirm missile attack on US ship in Gulf of Aden

[Regnum] The military representative of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) Yahya Saria confirmed a missile attack on an American ship in the Gulf of Aden. He stated this on January 15 on the Houthi-owned Al Masirah TV channel.

Houthis confirm missile attack on US ship in Gulf of Aden
“The Yemeni navy carried out an operation against a US vessel in the Gulf of Aden using a number of anti-ship missiles,” Saria said.

According to a movement spokesman, the hit was direct. All American and British ships and units participating in military aggression against Yemen are regarded by the Houthis as “enemy targets,” he emphasized.

Saria assured that the Yemeni movement will continue to conduct military operations to implement the decision to ban Israeli ships from crossing the Red and Arabian Seas.

As Regnum reported, on January 15, it became known about a fire on a US-owned ship that was attacked off the coast of Yemen. However, the crew was not injured and the ship remains seaworthy. It is noted that the ship is not associated with the supply of goods to Israel. The British maritime security company Ambrey suggested that the attack could have been carried out by the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement in response to bombings by the United States and Britain.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, in a telephone conversation on January 15, strongly condemned the strikes of a group of countries led by the United States and Britain on Yemen. The ministers also called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unhindered access to the enclave to provide urgent assistance to the civilian population.

On the night of January 12, the United States and Great Britain, with the support of Australia, the Netherlands, Bahrain and Canada, launched a military operation against the Houthis in Yemen. The targets of the air raid were drone production centers and weapons depots. In total, more than 100 precision-guided munitions were dropped. Strikes with Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from submarines, ships and aircraft hit more than 60 targets at 16 Houthi targets.

Russian foreign minister Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister condemned strikes on Yemen

[Regnum] Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a telephone conversation strongly condemned the strikes of a group of countries led by the United States and Britain on Yemen. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced this on January 15.

“Particular attention was paid to the escalation of tensions in the Middle East. The heads of foreign affairs departments strongly condemned the massive strikes undertaken by a group of countries led by the United States and Great Britain on the territory of Yemen,” the statement said.

It is noted that the ministers also spoke in favor of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensuring unimpeded access to the enclave to provide urgent assistance to the civilian population.

In addition, Lavrov and Abdollahian discussed the progress of preparation of a new interstate agreement and the tasks of further developing contacts and coordination at all levels.

As Regnum reported, on the night of January 12, the United States and Britain, with the support of the international coalition, launched strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. Houthis threaten the US with direct and full-scale war

[Regnum] The Yemeni Houthis have expressed confidence that they will be able to inflict a strategic defeat on the United States if the confrontation continues. The IRNA agency reported this on January 15.

The publication quotes senior Houthi leader Ali al-Kahum, who said that after this aggression, Yemen will become a cemetery for the Americans, and the United States will leave the region humiliated.

According to Al-Kahum, the United States and its allies are expected to fail. He added that the people and leaders of Yemen are fully prepared to engage in “direct and all-out war with the United States” and to defend the Palestinians.

Court closed the hearing in the case of journalist Magomedov to the press
Direst Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The district court in Makhachkala prohibited journalists from attending the hearing in the case of the deputy chief editor of Chernovik, Magomed Magomedov, accused of violating the rules for holding a single picket.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, police today detained and took the deputy chief editor of "Chernovik" Magomed Magomedov to the regional department, accusing him of violating the rules for holding a single picket. The lawyer was not allowed to meet with Magomedov at the regional police department, reported New Business journalist Idris Yusupov *.

Magomed Magomedov tried to hold a single picket in Makhachkala in support of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, but another picketer joined him, and the security forces declared a violation of the rules for a single rally.

The court hearing in Magomedov's case began at about 19.00 Moscow time in the Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala, journalist Idris Yusupov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, Magomedov is defended by lawyer Arsen Shabanov, and Yusupov himself acts as a public defender. At the same time, the court refused to allow journalists who were waiting outside the court building to attend the hearing, he said.

Magomedov is charged under Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing). As of 19.35 Moscow time, the meeting continued, Yusupov said.

Let us remind you that Abdulmumin Gadzhiev’s colleagues consider his criminal case to be political persecution and regularly hold single pickets in his support in the center of Makhachkala. On January 8, as a week earlier, such a picket was held by Magomed Magomedov.

The editor of the Chernovik newspaper, Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, as well as the head of the Ansar charitable foundation, Abubakar Rizvanov, and businessman Kemal Tambiev, were arrested in June 2019 on charges of financing terrorism. On September 12, 2023, the court sentenced Gadzhiev to 17 years in prison, Rizvanov to 18 years, and Kemal Tambiev to 17.5 years. The prosecution did not present convincing evidence in court, the defendants said in their final plea. Details of the case are collected in the Caucasian Knot material  “Golunov number two”: the main thing about the case of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev.”

Thousands of anti-Israel protesters swarm NYC cancer hospital accusing of 'complicity in genocide' as patients receive urgent care - while witness says: 'I thought I was in 1939 Germany'
[Daily Mail, where America gets news] Anti-Israel protesters have been spotted yelling 'complicity in genocide' at a New York City hospital - in the latest sickening demonstration over the Hamas war.

Thousands of marchers demanding a ceasefire to the fighting in Gaza during an event called 'Flood Manhattan for Gaza MLK Day march for healthcare.'

At one point, a social media user captured video as they passed by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on the Upper East Side, where they shouted 'Shame!'

It comes amid a wave of anti-Semitism, which has spiked 360 percent in the US since Hamas's terror attack on Israel on October 7 - just over 100 days ago.

An organizer for the pro-Palestine group Within Our Lifetime attempted to explain their rhetoric on X, accusing the hospital of accepting money from pro-Israel billionaires.

'Sloan Kettering accepted a *400 million dollar donation* from billionaire Zionist Ken Griffin, the largest in their history. This was *after* he threatened pro-Palestine student activists at Harvard with revoked job offers. Our medical institutions are not innocent bystanders.'

Later, the demonstrators - who marched from Union Square to Grace Mansion - targeted both a McDonald's and Starbucks location and accused both companies of cooking 'meals for genocide.'

They also allegedly chanted similar sentiments at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

Police reported scuffles between NYPD members and protesters and a 16-year-old boy was arrested with charges pending.

According to the ADL, the anti-Semitic hate wave includes 628 incidents at synagogues and Jewish community centers with about two-thirds of all incidents related to Israel's war on Hamas. They say a total of a shocking 34 anti-Semitic incidents per day in the last 100 days, with 2023 likely to set records for anti-Semitic acts. In addition, the average Jewish school is now spending $315,943 a year on security, up $100,000 from the time before October 7, Axios reported.

Iraq
Four people were killed in the shelling of Iraqi Erbil
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Four people were killed in attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces) on targets in Erbil, Iraq, ABC News reported on January 16, citing sources.
They aren’t bothering to go through their Iraqi Shiite militant sockpuppets anymore? Interesting.
Coalition forces shot down three drones near Erbil airport. It is noted that there were no casualties among coalition and American troops as a result of the bombing of Erbil.
They aren’t using their fig leaves and they were still ineffective? How mortifying for them.
According to journalists, US facilities and citizens were not damaged as a result of the ballistic missile attacks. Washington has not yet commented on the incident.

As Regnum reported, a series of explosions occurred in the Iraqi city of Erbil on the night of January 15-16. The explosions occurred near the US consulate and international airport in northern Iraq. Near the air harbor there is a military base called Harir, used by the forces of the international coalition led by the United States. The US Consulate was attacked by several drones, and the air base was attacked by missiles and drones.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for the attacks on the American diplomatic mission in Iraq. Eight targets near the US Consulate were attacked.

IRGC claims responsibility for the attacks on the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq. Eight objects near the American diplomatic mission were attacked.

“In response to recent terrorist crimes by the enemies of Islamic Iran, the headquarters of the spies […] was attacked by IRGC ballistic missiles and destroyed,” the IRGC clarified.

As Regnum reported with reference to the Shafaq News portal, on the night of January 15-16, several explosions occurred in the Iraqi city of Erbil. According to a security source, the explosions occurred near the US consulate and international airport in northern Iraq. Near the air harbor there is a military base called Harir, which is used by the forces of the international coalition led by the United States. The US Consulate was attacked by several drones, and the air base was attacked by missiles and drones. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

At the end of December, the US Armed Forces launched strikes on three targets of the Kataib Hezbollah group and associated groups in Iraq. The Pentagon called the attack a response to attacks against US troops in Iraq and Syria, including the shelling of a US airbase at the airport in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil.
Rudaw reports:
The United States on Tuesday condemned as "reckless and imprecise" the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ballistic missile strikes on the Kurdistan Region’s capital of Erbil, confirming that no US personnel or facilities were targeted. At least four non-combatants were killed.

"We will continue to assess the situation, but initial indications are that this was a reckless and imprecise set of strikes," a National Security Council spokesperson, Adrienne Watson, said in a statement.

At least five ballistic missiles struck Erbil in the late hours of Monday as sounds of loud bangs and explosions terrified residents. The IRGC grabbed credit for the strikes, claiming to have hit "spy headquarters" of anti-Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
groups in the Kurdistan Region. The strikes killed at least four civilians and injured 17 others, and heavy material damages were incurred on residences near Erbil-Pirmam road.

"No US personnel or facilities were targeted. We have been in touch with senior Iraqi officials as well as officials in the Kurdistan Region," Watson said, adding that Washington "will continue to assess the situation."

The Kurdistan Region Security Council earlier condemned the attacks as "blatant violation" of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region’s illusory sovereignty.

"The IRGC said the attack targeted several positions of Iranian opposition groups. Unfortunately, they always use baseless excuses to attack Erbil," the security council said in a statement in the early hours of Tuesday, adding that the Kurdish capital "has never been a source of threat to any party."

It stressed that the Iraqi federal government and the international community "must not remain silent about this crime."

Peshraw Dizayee, a well-known Kurdish businessman and the owner of Falcon Group which runs major projects such as Empire World, departed this vale of tears around 1:00 am on Tuesday after his house was struck by a missile, former deputy speaker of the Kurdistan Region parliament Hemin Hawrami confirmed on X.

"The United States supports the illusory sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Iraq," Watson affirmed.

"This is a terrorist attack, an inhumane act that has been carried out against Erbil. Erbil will not be scared or shaken," Governor Omed Khoshnaw told news hounds near the site of the strikes on Pirmam road.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani last week said that the Region will not become a "source of threat" to Iran, amid threats by the IRGC to launch attacks on Erbil for allegedly housing secret Mossad bases.

In late December, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) spokesperson Peshawa Hawramani reiterated that there are no Israeli bases in the Kurdistan Region, a day after a pro-Iran militia claimed it had struck an Israeli base in Erbil with a drone.

In March of 2022, Iran attacked Erbil with twelve ballistic missiles, striking the residence of a well-known Kurdish businessman. The IRGC grabbed credit for targeting "the strategic center of the Zionist conspiracy and evil by point-to-point missile."

Palestinian man reported killed as troops raid West Bank city
[IsraelTimes] The Paleostinian Health Ministry in Ramallah says a 22-year-old man was killed as troops carry out a raid in the West Bank Paleostinian city of Dura, near Hebron.

The man is named as Hassan Ibrahim Abu Sebaa.

Another 10 people are reported injured in the rare daytime raid, which may be connected to today’s car-ramming and stabbing attack in Ra’anana. Both suspects in the deadly terror rampage were from the Hebron area, according to Israeli authorities.

A number of unverified videos shared on social media show troops operating in the town and arresting people. One video appears to show troops kicking a person crumpled in a street, while another shows a man being marched by soldiers at rifle point.

The IDF says troops were carrying out "proactive activity" in the area when some 100 Paleostinians began to riot.

It says troops responded with riot dispersal means and live fire after they were attacked with cinderblocks and Molotov cocktails.

IDF raids An-Najah National University in Nablus – Palestinian reports
[IsraelTimes] Israeli security forces arrested a number of students during a raid on the An-Najah National University campus overnight, the Paleostinian Wafa news agency reports.

According to Wafa, the overnight raid marks the first time that Israeli forces have entered the university in over 30 years.

Footage shared on social media appears to depict a military vehicle arriving at what the posters say is the university, while other footage shows soldiers entering what is said to be the university campus.

According to reports, the two Paleostinians who breached a roadblock and shot up troops near the West Bank settlement of Metzad yesterday were both students at the university.

There is no immediate comment from the Israel Defense Forces.

IDF special forces operate within Lebanon, target Hezbollah
[Jpost] The IDF has expanded its engagement with Hezbollah, undertaking multiple operations in southern Lebanon, it announced on Tuesday.

The initial report was made that IDF special ground forces operated inside Lebanon, killing a terror threat in the Ita al-Sha'ab area.

Additionally, Israeli Air Force aircraft attacked an anti-tank launcher belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Early afternoon Tuesday, the IDF reported additional joint strikes to targets in the area.

"A short while ago, the IDF completed combined aerial and artillery strikes on a number of Hezbollah terror targets in the area of Wadi Saluki in Lebanon," the statement said.

"Within a short amount of time, strikes were carried out against dozens of Hezbollah posts, military structures, and weapons infrastructure. Hezbollah is exploiting the area of the Wadi for its terrorist activity. Numerous assets and infrastructure have been concealed by the terror organization in the forested area, for the purpose of attacking Israeli civilians and soldiers."

On Sunday, Hezbollah killed two Israeli civilians when it fired an anti-tank missile at a civilian residence in Yuval Village.

In Syria, Turkish air strikes knock out two power substations
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Two electrical substations in Hasakah province in Syria failed after Turkish aircraft struck the republic near the border with Turkey, the Syrian state agency SANA reported, citing a statement from the regional electricity company.

We are talking about facilities in the cities of Qamishli and Amuda. The power of both substations is 66 kilowatts.

Turkish aircraft began carrying out strikes on targets in Syria and northern Iraq on January 12 after the death of nine Turkish soldiers due to an attack by representatives of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Ankara announced that during its air operation in these republics it destroyed 24 targets of this Kurdish group.

In December, the Turkish army already carried out a military operation in northern Iraq against the PKK. Ankara's actions then came in response to the death of 12 Turkish soldiers.
