-War on Police-
Police Groups Slam Biden Judicial Pick for Ties to Group That Celebrated Cop Killers as Freedom Fighters
[WashingtonFreeBeacon] Adeel Mangi is already under fire for work with an anti-Israel think tank.

Biden judicial nominee Adeel Mangi already faces headwinds to his nomination over ties to an anti-Israel think tank that hosted holy warriors on the anniversary of 9/11. Now, he’s facing the ire of police organizations over his links to a group that hails six cop killers as "freedom fighters."

Five police unions representing 280,000 officers have urged senators to oppose Mangi’s nomination for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals over his position on the advisory board of the Alliance of Families for Justice.

"The fact that Mr. Mangi, as an Advisory Board member, aligns himself with an organization advocating for the release of convicted cop-killers is seriously disturbing," said the National Sheriffs’ Association, which represents more than 3,000 sheriffs across the country. Mangi’s affiliation with the Alliance of Families for Justice "raises concerns about a potential bias against victims and law enforcement," the sheriffs’ group said.

At issue is the Alliance of Families for Justice’s support for and connection to convicted cop killers. Mangi joined the left-wing group in 2019 and is still listed as an advisory board member.

In 2021, the Alliance of Families for Justice called for the parole of former black nationalists Sundiata Acoli, Mumia Abu Jamal, Mutulu Shakur, Russell Maroon Shoatz, Jamil al-Amin, and Kamau Sadiki—all serving life sentences for murdering coppers. The alliance refers to them as "elder freedom fighters" who were set up by the FBI, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Kathy Boudin, a member of the terrorist group Weather Underground, served on the Alliance’s board from its founding in 2016 until her death in 2022. Boudin, the mother of ousted the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
prosecutor Chesa Boudin, was convicted of murdering two New York coppers during an armored truck robbery with Black Liberation Army members in 1981. The Alliance of Families for Justice established a fellowship in her name last year.

The Rockland County Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, the police union that represented the two officers murdered during Boudin’s heist, said Mangi’s affiliation with the Alliance of Families for Justice shows "his lack of care for life and the rule of law."

The opposition from police groups could put additional pressure on swing-state Democrats to vote against Mangi, who, if confirmed, will have jurisdiction over federal cases in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Republicans oppose him over his advisory board position with the Rutgers Law School’s Center on Security, Race and Rights, an anti-Israel think tank that hosted anti-Semites and a convicted terrorist at an event on the20th anniversary of 9/11.

The conservative Judicial Crisis Network launched ad campaigns to call on Democratic Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.), Jon Tester (Mont.), and Sherrod I absolutely trust Hillary Brown

(Ohio) to vote against Mangi over his position at Rutgers. The White House has accused Republicans of "Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
" for opposing Mangi, who would be the first Moslem to serve on a federal appeals court.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee released letters from the police groups ahead of a confirmation vote for Mangi, for which a date has not been set.

The National Association of Police Organizations, which represents 241,000 coppers, said Mangi had "made his choice" to associate with a group that "exalt[s] unrepentant killers who were convicted following legal trials in courts of law."

The New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association, which has 32,000 members, said Mangi’s "leadership and association with the Alliance of Families for Justice makes it clear he cannot be impartial in dealing with law enforcement officers." The 1,000-member State Troopers NCO Association of New Jersey said, "We strongly condemn any group who advocates in favor of those who have attacked and killed law enforcement officers."

Mangi has not responded to several requests for comment about his role at the Alliance of Families for Justice. He was not asked about the group during his confirmation hearing. The Alliance of Families for Justice did not respond to a request for comment.

Strip while they were waiting to receive food supplies, which led to the killing of 112 and injuring 800.

In a statement it issued Saturday, the ministry held America directly responsible for the Zionist escalation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the escalation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, due to the unlimited support provided by Washington and its allies to the Zionist entity politically, materially, militarily, and logistically, including obstructing the Security Council from carrying out its role in maintaining international peace and security.

The statement affirmed that Sana’a, in light of the Zionist intransigence supported by America and Britannia, is firm in its position in preventing the arrival of ships owned by the Zionist entity or those heading to the ports of occupied Paleostine until the military aggression is ended and humanitarian aid, food, medicine, and fuel enter the Gaza Strip without any obstacles.

Britain
Amid anti-Israel protests, Sunak says extremists deliberately undermining UK democracy
[IsraelTimes] PM says regular Saturday pro-Paleostinian demonstrations have descended into intimidation, threats and planned acts of violence, vows to back up police when they take action

conflict, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Friday said that the "time has come" to battle murderous Moslem forces as he warned "democracy itself is a target."

In an unusual address from outside his Downing Street home, Sunak said that "in recent weeks and months, we have seen a shocking increase in murderous Moslem disruption and criminality."

Regular marches protesting Israel’s military response to Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
’s October 7 attacks have seen dozens arrested for antisemitic chanting and banners, inviting support for Hamas, a banned terror organization, and assaulting emergency workers.

Right-wing counter-protesters were also arrested when they descended on London for Remembrance Day events in November.

"Islamist hard boyz and far-right groups are spreading a poison. That poison is extremism," said Sunak.

Matters came to a head last week when the Speaker of the House of Commons said he bucked procedure during a debate due to concerns about the safety of MPs. Sunak said that the protests, a regular occurrence on Saturdays in the capital, "had descended into intimidation, threats and planned acts of violence."

Sunak said that people had the right to protest and demand the protection of civilian life in Gaza, but could not use that cause to justify the support of Hamas, a proscribed group, and said he wanted police to "not merely manage these protests, but police them."

He added that "Islamist hard boyz and the far-right feed off and embolden each other" and were "two sides of the same murderous Moslem coin." He said that people in the country on visas would have their right to be in Britannia removed if they "choose to spew hate."

"Now our democracy itself is a target. Council meetings and local events have been stormed.

"MPs do not feel safe in their home. Long-standing parliamentary conventions have been upended because of safety concerns," he added.

"I fear that our great achievement in building the world’s most successful multi-ethnic, multi-faith democracy is being deliberately undermined," Sunak said.

The prime minister said that "police have a tough job in policing the protests" but that "we must draw a line."

"I say this to the police, we will back up when you take action," he added.

Sunak’s speech came as left-wing firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
George Galloway
... a British national embarrassment, not particularly honest, more fond of dictators and terrorists than he is of his native countrymen except at the peak of the election cycle ...
was elected to the UK parliament after tapping into anger over the Israel-Hamas war in a chaotic by-election marred by allegations of antisemitism.

Sunak said it was "beyond alarming" that voters had elected a candidate "who dismisses the horror of what happened on October 7, and who glorifies Hezbollah."

The government will soon unveil a "new, robust framework" to tackle extremism, which will include backing for the counter-radicalization Prevent program and a demand for universities to stop murderous Moslem activity on campus, he explained.

"It is not enough to live side-by-side, we must live together, united by shared values and a shared commitment to this country," said Sunak.

"The time has now come for us all to stand together to combat the forces of division," he added.

British politicians this week have been given funding for new security provisions after some faced threats for expressing support for Israel in its war with Hamas.

Biden campaign reportedly taking steps to thwart disruptions from pro-Palestinian protesters
[IsraelTimes] US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
’s presidential re-election campaign has reportedly been taking steps to thwart disruptions from pro-Paleostinian protesters in recent weeks.

The campaign is holding smaller events, withholding their exact location until the president’s arrival and avoiding events on college campuses, NBC News reports.

The effort has paid off with the past five weeks seeing no disruptions after Biden was interrupted repeatedly during a speech about child sacrifice abortion rights in Virginia.

"He’s better in small venues," a Biden ally tells NBC News, citing retail politics as "where he thrives."
"Where we can hide him, and minimize his gaffes"
"But the downside is that means he doesn’t reach as many voters," the source adds. "The point is to reach as many voters as you can, and those small events don’t."

The new campaign policy is being applied to the upcoming marquee fundraiser with Biden and former presidents Bill Clinton

CAIR Angry That Girl Scouts Prohibited Missouri Troop From Fundraising For ‘Gaza Children' In Violation of Rules
[LI] And of course CAIR has a list of "demands" for Girl Scouts Of America. The troop’s leader, Nawal Abuhamdeh, disbanded the Girl Scout troop rather than stop.

The Girl Scouts of America is the latest group to be infiltrated and attacked by anti-Israel / pro-Hamas sentiment and demands.

A troop in Missouri was fund-raising supposedly for the children of Gaza under the auspices of the Girl Scouts of America, a clear violation of Girl Scout rules, so the local GSA chapter sent a warning to stop or face legal action. So far, so good.

The troop’s leader, Nawal Abuhamdeh, disbanded the Girl Scout troop rather than stop raising money for Gaza. Also fine.

The national GSA issued a weak as water statement trying to smooth things over, so of course, the pro-Hamas crowd smelled blood in the water and pounced.

Nothing is ever enough for the radical left. Give them the whiff of an apology, and they will lay out a list of demands. This is why you never apologize.

And it wasn’t enough for Abuhamdeh to just break off and do her own thing, so now she and a handful of Hamas-supporting Girl Scout troop leaders are actually demanding an apology from GSA and a change of the organization’s national policy that permits fundraising for "humanitarian aid."

Back from Israel, 6 US House Dems accuse PM of ‘utter disregard’ for Palestinian lives
[IsraelTimes] Six politicians, several with pro-Israel records, who traveled to Israel with J Street delegation blame Netanyahu for failure to get relief to Gazooks, call for release of hostages.
Given that J Street was involved — J Street being a wholly owned subsidiary of the Soros Foundations, founded to be an anti-Israel figleaf on the Progressive side as an alternative to AIPAC — the wonder is that they didn’t lovingly call for Israel to be burnt to the ground, root and branch.
Six US House of Representatives Democrats returned from an Israel trip accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of "utter disregard for Paleostinian lives" and fearing that he is moving toward Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. ’s "total destruction."

The Democrats — including the most senior Democrat on the House appropriations committee, Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut — made the comments in a statement issued Friday. They represent the breadth of the party’s ideologies and include several with pro-Israel records.

The recommendations in the joint statement signed by DeLauro, Sean Casten of Illinois, Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania, Becca Balint of Vermont, and Salud Carvajal and Mark Takano of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, were in line with Biden’s policies, including a call for a six-week ceasefire to facilitate the release of all hostages held by Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
and the entry of direly needed humanitarian assistance into the Gaza Strip.

But the tone was extraordinary, and could only be seen as a warning that Democrats in the House would continue to veer sharply away from Israel as long as Netanyahu is prime minister.

The six Democrats squarely blamed Netanyahu for the failure to get relief to the Paleostinians. The statement from the six Congress members condemns the October 7 massacre at the outset and called for the immediate release of the more than 130 hostages remaining captive, of whom about 100 are thought to remain alive.

The six politicians traveled to Israel as part of a delegation organized by J Street, the liberal ProgressiveJewish Middle East policy group that has affiliated political action committees.

DeLauro, who led the delegation, stands out: In addition to being the top Democrat on the powerful Appropriations Committee, she is a member of the House Democratic leadership and has in the past been close to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the preeminent mainstream pro-Israel lobby. AIPAC’s affiliated political action committee has endorsed her. She is married to pollster Stanley Greenberg, who has been active in pro-Israel advocacy.

But the others are also significant: Casten in 2022 unseated Marie Newman in a primary, a victory propelled in part by pro-Israel anger at her policies. Carbajal is a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, which unites moderates of both parties. Balint is Jewish and a member of the Progressive Congressional Caucus. Dean’s Philadelphia-area district has a substantial Jewish population.

Jeremy Ben-Ami, the J Street president who accompanied the delegation, said the politicians were moved by how officials across the spectrum — in Netanyahu’s government, in the opposition, and in the Paleostinian Authority — saw the US role as "indispensable."

"If the United States doesn’t lead some kind of a very large initiative to come out of this in a better place, nothing is going to happen," Ben-Ami said.

He said the six saw up close the devastation wrought by the October 7 attacks and their aftermath, staying in a hotel housing evacuees from Israel’s northern border, where Hezbollah is firing rockets into Israel in support of Hamas, both backed by Iran.

"The children are playing on the couches next to the members in the lobby as we’re getting ready to go on a tour," he said. "It’s in the breakfast hall in the morning. The families are getting ready for school and the members are there, getting food right next to them."

Three dozen leaders at news organizations around the world have signed a letter expressing solidarity with journalists in Gazoo

The letter, released Thursday, was spearheaded by the Committee to Protect Journalists, which said at least 89 journalists and media workers have been killed in the Israel-Hamas

war, the vast majority of them Paleostinians.
And how many of them were primarily members of Hamas or one of the other jihadi groups in Gaza, and only secondarily professional journalists?
Leaders at The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Rooters, New Yorker, CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
, NBC News and ABC News have signed on. International signatories include the BBC, Der Spiegel in Germany, Agence La Belle France-Presse, Daily Maverick in South Africa, Nawaiwaqt Group in Pakistain and The Asahi Shimbun in Japan.

Aluf Benn, editor-in-chief of Israeli left-leaning news outlet Haaretz, signed the letter as well.
Ha’aretz doesn’t merely lean to the left, they fell over decades ago.
More organizations are welcome to participate, said Jodie Ginsberg, CEO of the Committee to Protect Journalists.

"We felt that it was important that we show that the international journalism community stands in solidarity with our Paleostinian colleagues," Ginsberg said.

The letter says that journalists are civilians and that Israeli authorities must protect them as noncombatants in accordance with international law. Anyone violating this should be held accountable, it said.

"Attacks on journalists are also attacks on truth," the letter said. "We commit to championing the safety of journalists in Gaza, which is fundamental for the protection of press freedom everywhere."

Israel is only mentioned once in the letter. While CPJ has advocated for more access for journalists in Gaza, the letter steered clear of that subject because it was important to focus on solidarity, Ginsberg said. She would not comment on whether any news organization contacted chose not to participate.

Israel has presented evidence that several Paleostinian journalists working in Gaza have also been active members of terror groups like Hamas.

A number of survivors of the Hamas October 7 attack on Israel and families of victims also filed a lawsuit in Florida against The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, accusing the news agency of being complicit in the Paleostinian terror group’s killing spree by working with freelance photojournalists they believe were embedded with the thousands of hard boyz who overran southern communities.

The lawsuit names four freelance photographers whose work was bought and published by the AP and other outlets, claiming they are "known Hamas associates who were gleefully embedded with the Hamas hard boyz during the October 7th attacks."

The four captured some of the earliest images, widely disseminated, of the shock attack as it was unfolding. AP said the case was "baseless."

Israel denies targeting journalists and says it makes every effort to avoid harming civilians, blaming the high corpse count on the fact that Hamas fights in densely populated urban areas and embeds itself deliberately among civilians who are used as human shields. In a statement on December 16, the Israeli army said "the IDF has never, and will never, deliberately target journalists."

...always the voice of sweet reason...
’s October 7 terror onslaught in southern Israel. More than a dozen countries suspended funding worth about $450 million, almost half the budget for 2024.

The EU’s executive branch, the European Commission, had been due to disburse 82 million euros ($89 million) to UNRWA on February 29 but wanted the agency to accept its terms for an audit. The commission is the third biggest donor to UNRWA after the United States and Germany.

It says that the agency has now "indicated that it stands ready to ensure that a review of its staff is carried out to confirm they did not participate in the attacks and that further controls are put in place to mitigate such risks in the future."

The commission says that two further tranches of funding worth 16 million euros ($17.3 million) each will be given to UNRWA as it complies with the agreement.

UNRWA is on the brink of financial collapse. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini welcomed the EU’s announcement and said that the commitment to provide money next week "comes at a critical time."

Iraq
Saddam Hussein’s final secrets revealed: Tapes from CIA vault show Iraqi strongman wanted to be a novelist
[NYPost] In the pantheon of bloodthirsty dictators, Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein has almost been relegated to the dustbin of history.

He’s remembered as part of the now-quaint-seeming "axis of evil," for having psychopathic sons, Uday and Qusay, and a murderous cousin named "Chemical Ali," and perhaps most of all for not having weapons of mass destruction.

The March 2003 invasion of Iraq was premised on the claim that Saddam had amassed chemical and biological weapons and was ready to use them.

But there were none and the cavalry charge to Baghdad turned into a decade-long morass that cost more than $728 billion and led to the death of 4,492 US servicemembers.

Now his final secrets are being revealed in a new book based in part on Saddam’s secret tapes which its author fought a legal battle to get.

EXPLORE MORE
"The Achilles Trap: Saddam Hussein, the CIA and the Origins of America’s Invasion of Iraq," by Steve Coll, uses details of what Saddam told CIA and FBI interrogators over cigars and the own Nixon-style recordings he made during his 24-year reign, which the CIA retrieved from his ruined palaces in Baghdad.

They reveal the Saddam nobody knew and show how just how much the CIA misunderstood the butcher of Baghdad.

For one, Saddam fancied himself a creative talent, writing four novels and financing a film when he was in power, and just as the Bush administration’s rhetoric heated up against him, he was more into writing than military affairs. In the days before his December 2006 hanging he turned to writing poetry.

The author Coll, a veteran journalist, doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to the CIA’s massive "miscalculation" and "missteps" in invading Iraq.

But he doesn’t let Saddam off the hook either, making it clear that the Ba’athist dictator bungled his side of things, both underestimating the US decision to invade and not doing enough to make it clear that he had no WMDs because of his own ego and poor sense of political strategy.

"Why did Mr. Hussein sacrifice his long reign in power — and ultimately his life — by creating an impression that he held dangerous weapons when he did not?" Coll wrote in a New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

essay tied to the launch of his book.

Coll then explains that Hussein did secretly order the destruction of all his chemical and biological weapons, which is what the US and the UN told him to do — but then covered it up for fear of appearing weak to his own people as well as the West.

"One of the mistakes some people make is that when the enemy has decided to hurt you, you believe there is a chance to decrease the harm by acting in a certain way," he told a subordinate, according to Coll’s book. "In fact, he said, ’The harm won’t be less.’"

("Hussein recorded his private leadership conversations as assiduously as Richard Nixon," Coll wrote.)

It didn’t help that Hussein, however shrewd and ruthless he could be, was the product of a harsh rural peasant upbringing near the provincial city of Tikrit
...birthplace of Saddam Hussein...
where violence was a part of daily life. Hussein’s father died before he was born and his stepfather, a formidable man with a wicked streak, was said to be hard on Saddam.

Saddam in turn wrote in his autobiography that he was a scary little boy, intimidating other kids by brandishing a gun and once pistol-whipping someone on a bus who didn’t move over to make room.

But his primitive toughness was no help when it came to dealing with the fog of perception and mixed messages coming from the West, or what Coll calls Saddam’s "tragic, decades-long conflict with Washington" that included a collaboration with the CIA during the 1980s, and the Gulf War of 1990 and 1991.

His tragedy, which became the West’s as well since the invasion of Iraq led to the eventual rise of ISIS and empowered Iran, was naively thinking that Washington was more "omniscient" and competent than it really was, Coll argues.

He thought the CIA "already knew" he had no dangerous weapons.

Then again, he was a virulent anti-semite who also thought the CIA was totally run by Jews. He even banned his own spies from learning Hebrew in case they became sympathetic to Jews.

Threaded in between the revelations of Hussein’s own self-destruction, however, Coll draws a sometimes sympathetic portrait of Saddam before his capture and hanging. He was discovered by US forces in December 2003 hiding in a "spider hole" near a farmhouse near Tikrit

"The thing about Saddam as an adult is that he wasn’t really a crazy person," Coll told The Post. "It sounds weird to say but he was comfortable in his own skin."
More about Saddam Hussein’s four novels and the poems he wrote before he was hanged can be seen at the link.

US makes first Gaza aid airdrop, says delivery contains 38,000 meals
Golly. That’s like one meal per family up there.
[IsraelTimes] US military C-130 cargo planes on Saturday dropped food in pallets over Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. , two days after dozens of Paleostinians who had surged to pull goods off an aid convoy were killed in chaotic scenes.

Three planes from Air Forces Central dropped 66 bundles containing about 38,000 meals into Gaza at 3:30 p.m. local time.

The airdrop was announced by US Central Command (CENTCOM), which said it and the Royal Jordanian Air Force "conducted a combined humanitarian assistance airdrop into Gaza... to provide essential relief to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict."

The airdrop is expected to be the first of many announced by US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
on Friday. CENTCOM said it was planning for further such airdrops as "part of a sustained effort to get more aid into Gaza, including by expanding the flow of aid through land corridors and routes."

Hamas
...always the voice of sweet reason...
says at least 115 Paleostinians were killed and hundreds more maimed on Thursday as they swarmed aid trucks that entered the city. Hamas accused Israel of shooting at the crowds.

Israel, which has said dozens were killed, said many of them were trampled in a chaotic crush for the food aid, and that its troops only fired at a few individuals who rushed toward them in a threatening manner. Jerusalem has been under growing international pressure to launch an in-depth investigation.

The C-130 cargo plane is a widely used military jet to deliver aid to remote places due to its ability to land in austere environments and cargo capacity.

A C-130 can airlift as much as 42,000 pounds of cargo and its crews know how to rig the cargo, which sometimes can include even vehicles, onto massive pallets that can be safely dropped out of the back of the aircraft.

…between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. (Gaza time) to provide essential relief to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.

The combined operation included U.S. Air Force and RJAF C-130 aircraft and respective Army Soldiers specialized in aerial delivery of supplies, built bundles and ensured the safe drop of food aid.

U.S. C-130s dropped over 38,000 meals along the coastline of Gaza allowing for civilian access to the critical aid.

The DoD humanitarian airdrops contributes to ongoing U.S. government efforts to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to the people in Gaza. We are conducting planning for potential follow-on airborne aid delivery missions.

These airdrops are part of a sustained effort to get more aid into Gaza, including by expanding the flow of aid through land corridors and routes.

Gunman who killed two in Eli terror shooting a PA security officer from Qalandiya
[IsraelTimes] The Paleostinian shooter who killed two people in a terror attack earlier at a gas station near the West Bank settlement of Eli is an officer in the Paleostinian Authority security forces and a resident of Qalandiya, outside Jerusalem, according to Israeli media citing Paleostinian reports.

The Shin Bet security agency later identified the assailant as Muhammad Manasra, 31, an officer in the Paleostinian Authority’s police, from the West Bank’s Qalandiya refugee camp near Jerusalem.

According to the Shin Bet, Manasra was enjugged

Far left lawmakers from 12 countries pledge to push their governments to impose Israel arms embargo
The Left’s war against Israel goes overt, which sheds a very different light on the two-decade effort funded by very rich Progressives to drive Bibi Netanyahu out of politics.
[IsraelTimes] Over 200 far-left politicians from 12 countries have signed onto a letter committing to trying to persuade their governments to impose an arms embargo on Israel over the latter’s "grave violation of international law" in its war against Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...

According to the Guardian’s report on the letter, signatories include former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn; the leader of the Green party in the Australian senate, Larissa Waters; the coordinator of La Belle France Unbowed, Manuel Bompard; the national secretary of the Workers’ party of Belgium, Peter Mertens; the Canadian MP and member of the Progressive International council, Niki Ashton; the Brazilian federal deputy Nilto Tatto; the former leader of Die Linke, Bernd Riexinger; the leader of the Spanish party Podemos, Ione Belarra; the leader of the Dutch Socialist party, Jimmy Dijk; Irish MP Thomas Pringle; and the former co-chair of the Peoples’ Democratic party in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

The lone American signatory is Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib

She's a Dem, naturally, from a safe district you wouldn't want to live in (Michigan's 12th congressional district). She wants the country to be kinda like Gaza only without any Jews for neighbors...
"We know that lethal weapons and their parts, made or shipped through our countries, currently aid the Israeli assault on Paleostine that has claimed over 30,000 lives across Gaza and the West Bank," the letter states, relying on Hamas’s death count from the war.

"We cannot wait. Following the interim ruling by the International Court of Justice on the genocide convention case against the state of Israel, an arms embargo has moved beyond a moral necessity to become a legal requirement."

Christians flock to Israel in support despite war
May God bless them and keep them all for their lovingkindness and support.
[IsraelTimes] Delegations and solidarity trips of hundreds of supporters from churches around the world are touring the sites of carnage wrought by Hamas while bolstering the survivors

Waiting out the rocket warning siren in the bomb shelter of Ben Gurion Airport, Jani Salokangas wished he could stay in Israel and not fly back to his wife and five children in Finland.

"I felt sad having to leave. I wanted to stay and do something," said Salokangas, a 40-year-old pro-Israel Christian community leader, who was in Israel on October 7 to lead a delegation of 80 people from his church.

Four months into the war launched by Hamas
...a regional Iranian catspaw,...
’s October 7 onslaught on Israel, Salokangas last month returned to Israel with a new delegation from Finland, which he took across Israel’s south on a solidarity trip that featured volunteering, bearing witness to the crimes of Hamas, and much praying for Israel’s success.

His delegation was one of dozens of visits by Christian groups that are returning to Israel on solidarity trips — sometimes under fire — to the epicenters of the tragedy. Feeling inextricably connected to Israel and Judaism, the visitors view the war as the dawn of a new and closer Jewish-Christian alliance, which last year had been strained by the actions of Jewish fanatics in Jerusalem.

Those actions — including harassment of priests and pilgrims in the Old City and one vociferous protest rally on May 28 near the Western Wall against a Christian prayer service — were "concerning," according to David Parsons, vice president of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. But "after October 7, it was quickly forgotten by most pro-Israel Christians," added Parsons, whose prominent pro-Israel Christian group was established in 1980.

In a June Hebrew-language Maariv article, International Christian Embassy Jerusalem president Dr. Juergen Buehler described the May 28 events as unprecedented. "It was one of the few times in Israel where I feared an assault. I’d never experienced such hostility before," said Buehler, a German-born ordained minister and physicist who has been living in Israel since 1994, and who has two sons serving in combat units of the Israel Defense Forces.

The protest included several hundred demonstrators and was led by Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Aryeh King. The protesters, some of whom scuffled with police, shouted at the Christians gathered near the Western Wall to "go back" and "stop proselytizing."

That protest followed a stream of incidents involving clergy in Jerusalem. Orthodox Jews have been documented in dozens of cases spitting on the ground in front of clergy and other Christians. Another such incident happened this month and led to the detainment of two people suspected of spitting on the ground near a passing Catholic priest, an act that may be prosecuted as a hate crime.

But the events of October 7, when some 3,000 Hamas gunnies invaded Israel and murdered some 1,200 people, among other war crimes, "have dwarfed the issues we had before, and really deepened the Christian world’s attachment to Israel," Parsons said.

"We’re talking about an emotional attachment that means that, when countless pro-Israel Christians get up in the morning, first thing they do is go and look for updates about what’s happening here," added Parsons, who was born in North Carolina but has been living in Israel for about 30 years with his Netherlands-born wife. The couple have one son, who is 24 and was born in Israel.

SHIFTING ATTITUDES AMONG FORMERLY STALWART SUPPORTERS
The tension around anti-Christian harassment coincided with broader shifts reshaping attitudes to Israel within Evangelical circles, according to a new book on this issue by two scholars, Motti Inbari and Kirill Bumin. In the book, titled "Christian Zionism in the Twenty-First Century: American Evangelical Opinion on Israel," they show in a series of polls how support for Israel has declined among Evangelicals as support for the Paleostinians grows.

One poll from 2018 of Evangelicals under 30 showed support for Israel at 68.9% and for Paleostinians at 5%. But in a follow-up from 2021, support for Israel dropped to only 33.6% whereas support for Paleostinians climbed to 24.3%. Inbari said the numbers may reflect "a youthful rebellion" by Evangelicals "defying their parents’ politics." Social media, he added, may also play a role.

Still, support for Israel unites many millions of Evangelical Christians worldwide and thousands of them are in societies where Israel is not very popular, like Norway.

Dag Juliussen, the head of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem’s Norway operations, says that the war is galvanizing support for Israel in Norway, where hundreds of people recently attended a solidarity vigil that the country’s Catholic bishops officially supported for the first time in history.

A 51-year-old father of three living near Oslo, he too left Israel after October 7 with a delegation he had been heading here. Like Salokangas, Juliussen returned this month with the first major Christian delegation from Norway since the war.

"We’re here to comfort the Jewish People, which is our mission statement, but we’re also here to bear witness to what has been done to Israel and its people," said Juliussen.

Christians for Israel, a Netherlands-based group, organized one of the first post-October 7 delegations to Israel and has been bringing dozens of activists to the south even as Hamas was firing hundreds of rockets into it each day. One of the delegation’s activities involved planting tulips, the Netherlands’ national flower, in Sderot.

During the war, Christians for Israel has staged multiple rallies in the Netherlands, where Israel is standing trial at the International Court of Justice for genocide, an allegation Israel and its allies reject outright.

A LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP
Many of the Christian delegations visiting have a longstanding relationship with communities near Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. , to which Christian organizations have been donating for years because Hamas has targeted those locales with rocket fire since 2001.

On October 5, the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem brought 600 Christians to meet Ofir Libstein, mayor of Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, near Sderot. On October 7, Libstein was murdered by terrorists.

"These are people we’ve known for years, these are places we know, this is not some abstract conflict for us," said Paul Webber, a 60-year-old father of five who lives in Arizona. Last month, Webber headed a delegation of members of Passages, a pro-Israel group that has brought more than 11,000 young Christians to visit Israel.

The survivors that the Passages delegation met last month, he added, "seemed scarred, changed for life [...] you could tell that they’re seeing over and over the horror that they had witnessed," he said. "There’s no words for it. There are no words for the horror, the evil that went on there."

Passages donated $500,000 toward psychological support for the survivors of Kfar Aza and Netiv Ha’asara, two of the hardest-hit communities on October 7, with which Passages has had a longstanding relationship.

Another $20 million for southerners in Israel came from the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews headed by Yael Eckstein, daughter of IFCJ founder Yechiel Eckstein. Thon the lam charity relies on donations by Christians to help thousands of Israelis and other Jews annually.

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem has raised millions more, some of which has gone to improving shelters and other war-related readiness activities.

"I hope that as Jews see Christians take a more visually present stand, the relationship changes for the better. I hope it brings us closer together as a family," Webber said.

Juliussen from Norway, however, doubts that Christian solidarity will change Jewish Death Eaters’ minds.

"Whoever thinks that Christians are really out to proselytize will probably view those acts as a missionary strategy, unfortunately," he said. The way forward, he opined, is "through love that we Christians need to maintain despite the challenges."

The war with Hamas has put the tensions involving Jewish murderous Moslems into perspective, according to Bishop Paul Lanier, chairman of the board of directors of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

The May 28 prayer event at the Western Wall shocked and troubled Lanier, as had previous incidents of harassment, said the church leader from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. "It was grotesque to watch persons spit on Christians who were moving through the street quietly observing their faith," he recalled.

On October 3, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly condemned anti-Christian harassment and "addressed this," said Lanier, a 63-year-old father of two.

"We have the luxury in peacetimes to nitpick and to get territorial," said Lanier. "I think there’s no doubt that the massacre totally eclipsed the issue, which I think is behind us now."
