Kabul Women Seek Justice For Rokhshana Stoned to Death
[Tolo News] Dozens civil society activists gathered in capital Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
to seek justice for 19-year-old Rokhshana who was stoned to death by the Taliban in western Ghor province.

The activists, mainly women, strongly denounced the public execution of a woman and called it an un-Islamic and inhumane act.

Forced to marry against her will, the young Rokhshana was stoned to death by the Taliban last week after she was caught eloping with another man.

The act saw global condemnation after footages of the stoning, which went viral on social media on Monday, showed her in a hole in the ground as scores of violent men casually hurl stones at her.

President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
and CEO Abdullah both in separate statements condemned the incident and assured to bring the perpetrators to justice.

However the activists on Friday accused the government of being silent on what they called a "barbaric" killing of a woman in public.

They released a resolution in which they asked the government to identify what they said the Taliban and the religious scholars who decreed the stoning.

In the statement, they also demanded the government to interrogate the Police Chief of Ghor and the local officials over the incident.

The activists called upon all the people of Afghanistan to stand united against the tragic incident which they warned if neglected, "the women of the country would no longer be safe."

This is not the first case a woman stoned to death in public. A number of similar cases have occurred in the past during the Taliban regime, ousted in 2001.

Bank.

Khalilullah Frozi -- one of the main factors behind the embezzlement of Kabul Bank's over $900 million USD -- was freed from prison on Wednesday to inaugurate the "Smart City Township" project he signed with the Ministry of Urban Development.

At the inaugural ceremony of the project worth $900 million USD, the government officials said the program was aimed at helping the debtors to become able to repay their obligations.

However after serious pressures on the government, Ghani eventually decreed the cancelation of the contract.

Based on a statement from presidential palace, Ghani has also ordered a thorough investigation of the contract signed with Frozi -- who was sentenced to 10 years in jail in a court verdict last November.

Ghani has also upheld the court decisions against the debtors of Kabul Bank, it added.

This comes after the launch of project led to mounting criticism of government.

Report: Israel worried Egypt's Sisi might fall to jihadist insurgents
[Jpost] A former US politician co-authored a report in which he states that his team met with a number of Israeli defense and security analysts in recent weeks.

Israeli officials are reportedly growing concerned over the long-term viability of the current Egyptian regime in light of gains made by Islamists in their insurgency.

Bloomberg News quoted a former Republican politician on Friday as saying that Israeli government figures are beginning to wonder whether Egypt's president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, can successfully overcome the threats posed to his rule by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-inspired Salafist gunnies.

Egypt's tourism industry - a key source of revenue for the cash-strapped Arab giant - is expected to take an even bigger hit in the wake of Saturday's crash of a Russian airline in the Sinai Peninsula.

All 224 passengers on board were killed in what Western intelligence agencies say may have been a terrorist bomb.

"We encountered a lot of people in Israel and elsewhere that don't think that he is going to survive his term," Vin Weber, a former Republican member of Congress, told Bloomberg.

Weber is currently the co-chairman of the Egypt policy task force of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

The think tank released a report co-authored by Weber in which he states that his team met with a number of Israeli defense and security analysts in recent weeks.

According to the report, Weber's interlocutors paint a bleak picture of Sisi's current standing in Cairo.

"[Sisi] is under constant death threats," Weber told Bloomberg. "Many people said we're not sure where he sleeps every night. And I think there is that question mark in the minds of the Israelis about whether or not the government can succeed."

An insurgency based in Sinai and mounted by Islamic State's Egyptian affiliate has killed hundreds of soldiers and police. In recent months, it has expanded to Western targets in Egypt.

The Islamist insurgency gained pace after Egypt's military, under Sisi's command, overthrew President Mohammed Morsi of the Moslem Brüderbund Islamist movement in mid-2013 in the wake of mass protests against his rule.

Islamic State controls large parts of Iraq and Syria, has a presence in Libya and the support of murderous Moslems in Egypt seeking to topple the Cairo government.

Sisi has described Islamist militancy as an existential threat to Egypt, the most populous Arab state and a close US ally.

Weber's co-chair in heading the task force, Greg Craig, told Bloomberg that while Egyptian-Israeli security cooperation in the Sinai has never been better - particularly since the 2014 Israeli military offensive against Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, in the Gazoo Strip - Jerusalem gives the former general low marks in the manner in which he has tried to crush the Islamist uprising.

"We did spend some time with Israeli national security folks," said Craig, a former B.O. regime official. "One of the smartest persons I've ever met in terms of analytical capacity was talking about the Egyptian proclivity to do all the wrong things when it comes to counter-insurgency."

"If you had a list of boxes you checked of things not to do, the Egyptian military has checked every one of those boxes," Craig said.

Sisi has reportedly acknowledged that Islamists have tried to assassinate him on at least two occasions. Remarkably, though, there is now concern that the Egyptian president has enemies within the ranks of the military.

This past August, 26 Egyptian officers were sentenced to jail by a military court for allegedly plotting to overthrow Sisi.

Russia to send 44 planes to Egypt to repatriate nationals
Russia will on Saturday send 44 planes to repatriate its nationals from two Egyptian Red Sea resorts, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency said as suspicions grow that a bomb caused last weekend's plane crash.

Thirty empty planes would be sent to Hurghada, and 14 would be sent to Sharm El-Sheikh where a total of 78,000 Russian tourists are staying, the agency said in a statement.

A cockpit record from the Russian jet which crashed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula one week ago registered a noise in the last second of recording, the head of an investigation committee into the crash said on Saturday. But the committee head, Ayman Al Muqaddam, said experts were still gathering information and it was too soon to announce conclusions of their work. He said the investigators were considering all possible scenarios.

Putin Orders Halt to Egypt Flights
[Tolo News] Russia ordered Friday a halt in flights to Egypt as concerns grew that a bomb downed a Russian plane that took off from the Sharm el-Sheikh resort, as British holidaymakers were being evacuated.

President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
called the halt to Russian flights in line with a recommendation from his security chief, the Kremlin said, although Moscow had downplayed reports that a bomb caused the crash Saturday.

Putin "ordered the government to work out mechanisms" to halt flights and to repatriate Russian citizens, Kremlin front man Dmitry Peskov said.

At an emergency meeting, the head of Russia's FSB security service, Alexander Bortnikov, said it would be prudent to halt flights for now.

"Until we have determined the true reasons for what happened, I consider it expedient to stop flights by Russian aviation to Egypt," Bortnikov said.

With international concerns mounting, European airlines prepared to bring home thousands of tourists from the Red Sea resort, which has been a jewel in Egypt's tourism crown.
A first flight finally took off for London's Gatwick airport after a long delay, followed shortly by another plane headed for Britannia.

But there were angry scenes at the airport as thousands of anxious Britons, who had also hoped to fly home, were sent back to their hotels after Egypt blocked several other repatriation flights.

British Ambassador John Casson was heckled as he announced the news.

Egypt refutes Daily Mail claim that a rocket was fired at British plane
[AlAhram] On Friday, the Daily Mail published an article saying that in August a British plane carrying 189 passengers came 'within 1,000ft' of a rocket as it approached Sharm El Sheikh

Egypt's foreign ministry described a report by The Daily Mail newspaper claiming that a British passenger plane "had been seconds" from being struck by a rocket as it approached the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh last August as "preposterous allegations."

On Friday, the Daily Mail reported that a British plane carrying 189 passengers came 'within 1,000ft' of a rocket before the flight "took evasive action after the pilot spotted the missile speeding through the air".

The newspaper also said that the 189 holidaymakers on board the flight were not made aware of the incident.

"Preposterous allegations by @MailOnline regarding UK plane 'avoiding Egyptian missile' in August are completely inaccurate," Egyptian foreign ministry front man Ahmed Abu Zeid said on his Twitter account on Sarturday.

"The Incident involved GROUND-TO-GROUND fire exercise in military base few km off Sharm airport, no ground-to-air firing involved whatsoever.

"Egypt & UK [governments were] fully aware that [the] plane was in no danger. Airliners were previously informed of military exercise and instructed of procedures," Abu Zeid added.

The Daily Mail's allegations come in the aftermath of the crash of a Russian passenger plane, shortly after leaving Sharm El-Sheikh Airport last week.

The airliner crashed in central Sinai, around 23 minutes after taking off from Sharm El-Sheikh airport. All 224 people on board were killed.

Media reports have suggested that the crash might have been a result of a bomb. However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
the Egyptian head of the committee investigating the crash said at a Saturday news conference that it is still too soon to determine what caused it.

and several European countries have suspended flights to Sharm El-Sheikh and the United States has imposed new air travel security requirements.

Sweden to Deport Tens of Lebanese Families
[AnNahar] Swedish authorities decided to deport tens of Lebanese families that have already resorted to Sweden many years ago after it refused to give them the necessary accommodation to settle on its territory, media reports said on Saturday.

Despite the fact that these families have settled in Sweden for more than ten years and have founded private businesses and paid the taxes, they did not get the accommodation required, the reports stated.

With the aggravation of the Syrian migrants crisis to Europe, the Lebanese expats were surprised with the decision to expel them.

Some of the Lebanese families who are listed for deportation from Sweden face several humanitarian and economic problems, most notably the children who were born there and got adapted with the Swedish educational curricula and the families who have started their own business, it added.

A delegations from the listed families are expected to meet with Leb's Ambassador to Sweden and Scandinavia Ali Ajami to ask for help.

The step will take place in parallel with moves that include peaceful marches and sit-ins in front of the Swedish official quarters with the participation of Swedish citizens supporting the case.

Migration Tests Sweden's 'Humanitarian Superpower' Image
[AnNahar] Overwhelmed by a massive influx of migrants, Sweden is approaching its fiscal and emotional limit and this "humanitarian superpower" is now being forced to hit the brakes.

The Scandinavian kingdom, in which one in every five residents is of foreign origin,
As I recall, the tipping point for Muslims causing problems is 10%...
is expected to receive up to 360,000 new immigrants in 2015 and 2016. That's roughly the equivalent of Germany dealing with 3 million new migrants or 2.2 million arriving in La Belle France.

"The situation is no longer tenable. Sweden can no longer take refugees in the way it has before," Prime Minister Stefan Lofven warned this week.

Earlier this year, Lofven was still ruling out the idea of setting a limit on migration.

Immigration Minister Morgan Johansson reiterated the government's line when he said: "We cannot guarantee housing to all refugees. If you have a roof over your head in Germany, then it's probably best for you to stay there."

In a sign of the problems involved in dealing with the huge influx, the Migration Agency reported that it had to set up beds for 50 migrants at its own headquarters on Thursday night.

- Redistribution of migrants -In a bid to address the urgency of the situation and to put a lid on public spending, the Ministry of Finance began suggesting that development aid be cut by up to 60 percent in next year's budget to help pay for the influx.

Then, turning towards the EU, Sweden is seeking to relocate some of its asylum applicants to other EU Countries.

Brussels unveiled a plan in September for the redistribution of nearly 160,000 migrants and refugees from frontline states Italia and Greece. So far, only a small number have been relocated.

The EU plan was also to have seen 54,000 migrants and refugees relocated from Hungary.

But Hungary, along with several other eastern European countries, rejected the compulsory quota plan out of hand -- and Sweden is now very eager to take advantage of the offer made to Budapest for relocating some of its own asylum seekers.

Finally Stockholm has said it would like to receive special financial assistance from the European Commission.

Since the 1950s, Sweden has become a coveted destination for immigrants.

Before that, more than a million poor peasants and workers migrated to North America from Sweden between 1840 and 1930.

Last year the then prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, a conservative, presented the country as a "humanitarian superpower".

One year later, his party fiercely supports stemming the flow of migrants.

- Welfare state cuts-Because of the welfare cuts made over the past 25 years, the generous "Swedish model" is being challenged.

Now Sweden, with its economy coming in at 17th per capita, according to World Bank figures last year, can no longer afford its ambitions.

Many of the most recent asylum seekers are sleeping on concrete floors in disused warehouses or in prisons.

Hospitals, schools and social services are overcrowded and longtime immigrants, plagued by high unemployment, are being crammed into poor suburbs.

"It's nice to play good Samaritan, but in the suburbs we stand outside of the system," said Alex Ngabo, a community activist in Tensta, a suburb north of Stockholm, where 87 percent of residents are from immigrant families.

Up to now, the government announcements have not had the desired effect.

More than 1,700 asylum applications were filed Wednesday, almost beating Sweden's daily record -- which was set last month.

Lofven negotiated with opposition parties in October to set restrictions on migration, which would apply only at the end of next year.

Polls indicate that the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats are benefiting most from the growing tensions.

The Social Democrats have lost support among the poorer sections of society, those perceived to be the most exposed to the unprecedented influx.

As a former welder and trade unionist, the prime minister knows he is leading his party across a social and economic tightrope.

"Since the crisis of the 1990s, the Social Democrats have contributed to deconstruct the welfare state when they were in power and failed to defend it when they were in opposition," said Stefan Jonsson Institute Migration Research at the University of Linkoping.

Berlin protesters, police clash near anti-migrant march
[AlAhram] Police clashed Saturday with activists who erupted into the streets of Berlin to shout down thousands of anti-migrant demonstrators protesting against Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom...
's open-door refugee policy.
More than 40 people were placed in durance vile
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
and one officer was lightly maimed, police said.

The scuffles erupted after police broke up a sit-in by counter-demonstrators, some of whom tried to break through the barriers separating them from the anti-migrant march. Officers also intervened to stop angry exchanges between rival demonstrators.

Police said around 5,000 people turned out for the main anti-migrant protest, which was organised by the eurosceptic, populist-nationalist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party under the banner "Asylum Has Its Limits -- Red Card for Merkel".

"We are demonstrating against the asylum chaos caused by Angela Merkel," AfD member and European Parliament deputy Beatrix von Storch said at the rally.

Participants at the demo waved German flags and chanted "Merkel must go" and "Traitor to the people".

Five counter-protests in support of migrants were attended by a total of around 800 people. Organisers had expected a turnout of several thousand.

More than 1,100 police were deployed in the capital to prevent trouble between the rival demonstrators.

Merkel has faced a growing backlash over her welcoming stance towards refugees fleeing war and persecution as Germany, Europe's top economy, faces a record influx of up to one million asylum seekers this year.

Iran-EU relations enter key stage: EU parliament chief
[AlAhram] Relations between Iran and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
are at a "determining stage" after Tehran's landmark nuclear deal with world powers in July, European Parliament chief Martin Schulz said on Saturday.

"We are now at the implementation stage of this agreement and at the end of this stage a door can be opened for economic cooperation and positive economic development," he said at a news conference in Tehran with Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani.

The European Union last month announced it had adopted the legal framework to lift its sanctions against Iran, once Tehran has curbed its nuclear activities.

The EU announcement came shortly after President Barack Obama

ordered the US government to also take steps towards lifting sanctions on Iran.

The EU and US sanctions have proved very damaging, locking up billions in Iranian assets overseas and starving the oil-dependent economy of crucially needed technology and investment.

Schulz was in Tehran on a one-day visit at the invitation of the Iranian parliament, the first by a head of the European Parliament.

He also said Iran played a "key role" in regional stability, especially in Syria.

He made the same point after meeting President Hassan Rouhani.

"The Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran is an element of stability in a region full of instability," Schulz said.

"As a result of terrorism in Syria we are facing an influx of refugees in Europe. Right now our main and common goal is fighting Daesh [Islamic State]," the Islamic State

group (IS), he said.

Iran joined talks with world powers on Syria for the first time in Vienna last month in a drive to end the more than four-year conflict. The Syrian regime and the opposition were not represented.

The Pentagon is expected to release a plan next week on President Obama’s years-long effort to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center that suggests a Colorado prison dubbed “the Alcatraz of the Rockies” as one suitable site to relocate expected life-long detainees, Obama administration officials say.
We all knew this was coming.
Obama made a campaign promise in his 2008 White House bid to close the facility, arguing the move would be in the United States’ best financial, national security and foreign policy interests and in the name of justice -- considering some of the detainees have been held for nearly nine years without trial or sentencing.
So take them out back and shoot them. Or ship them to Mauritania. Or plant them in Ice Station Zebra.

Or say "screw it" and let 'em all go, with the understanding that if any of the mooks then kill someone we get to stone one prominent person in the Obama administration.
However, critics of the promise, including many Republicans, fear transferring detainees to the U.S. mainland as part of an overall closure plan poses too much of a homeland security risk. They also say the president has yet to submit a closure plan and have been critical of the administration recently allowing some known terrorists to return to the Middle East.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan Bans Media Coverage of Militant Groups
[Tolo News] Pakistain has banned all TV and radio coverage of Islamic bully boy groups, including the one suspected of carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and ordered broadcast outlets to stop running advertisements for the groups' charities.
Oh dear. Badanov may need to take on the Pakistan beat.
The move comes nearly a year after the government vowed to crack down on homegrown gunnies following a Taliban attack on a school that killed more than 150 people, mainly students.

The agency that regulates Pak media issued the order late Monday, specifically mentioning Jamaat-ud-Dawa
...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba...
and the Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation. Both charities are linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
, the Islamic bully boy group suspected of carrying out the Mumbai attacks, which killed more than 160 people.

The Pakistain Electronic Media Regulatory Authority said failure to abide by the order would result in the cancellation of broadcast licenses. It listed 72 local groups covered by the directive.

Lashkar-e-Taiba was set up with the aid of Pak intelligence to fight in the disputed region of Kashmire. The government has officially banned the group but has done little to crack down on it.

The charities have played a major role in the response to natural disasters, including last week's earthquake in neighboring Afghanistan, which killed nearly 400 people, including more than 270 in Pakistain.

But the charities are also seen as a bully boy front. One of the founding members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed
...who would be wearing a canvas jacket with very long sleeves anyplace but Pakistain...
, now heads both charities linked to the group. The U.S. has offered a $10 million reward for his capture, but he lives in the open in Pakistain and often appears in TV interviews.

Armed group invites NGOs to Khyber area for uplift
[DAWN] LANDI KOTAL: A purported pro-government gang of Bazaar Zakhakhel area in Khyber Agency
... the place to go if you've got an Indiana Jones hat and whip. Chock full of high adventure and treacherous Pathans. You should really train up to it, though...
has invited all national and international non-governmental organizations to carry out development projects in the underdeveloped region.

In a statement issued to the local media, Haji Munshi Zakhakhel, a front man for Tauheedul Islam, a purported pro-government peace body, said his group would provide complete security and assistance to all NGOs willing to carry out development work in remote and underdeveloped Bazaar-Zakhakhel area.

He said the entire Bazaar Zakhakhel area had no basic health unit and facilities for girls education.

"Our girls are uneducated as we do not have a single primary schools for them, while most local residents take their ailing family members to Landi Kotal, Jamrud and Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
for treatment due to unavailability of health facilities in the area," he said.

The front man said unfortunately, no basic facility had been provided to the local residents despite several requests to the relevant government officials.

"We appeal to NGOs, both national and international, to come to our area for development work. We will provide them with complete security," he said.

The gang's invitation to NGOs for uplift comes at a time when the federal government has stopped most of them from operating in tribal areas.

Tauheedul Islam had parted ways with Bara-based bully boy outfit, Lashkar-e-Islam
...a group of Islamic bandidos infesting Khyber Agency. It's headed by a former bus driver....
, in 2010 after the latter's activists killed a local holy man for asking them to leave Zakhakhel area.

Since then, both the gangs have been in conflict, killing each other's supporters in large numbers.

The TI activists claim they also helped security forces expel the LI from Bazaar Zakhakhel area.

A local resident said there was no clean drinking water in Bazaar-Zakhakhel area forcing the people to drink rainwater accumulated in ponds.

He said local rustics and the cattle consumed the same water.

Chhota Rajan details on Dawood Ibrahim new and revealing
[DNAINDIA] The capture and deportation of underworld gangster Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje, alias Chhota Rajan, was nothing short of dramatic.

Officials from the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Delhi police's special cell jointly interrogated Rajan for hours on Friday.

Sources privy to the interrogation claimed that information provided by Rajan on rival don Dawood Ibrahim and his own network is new and revealing. There was speculation that his finances were in the red. However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
sources say he has substantial investments in Australia, Thailand and Malaysia.

The elusive gangster, one of India's most wanted for the past 27 years, landed at the Palam technical area, New Delhi, shortly after 5 AM on Friday and was immediately whisked away to the custody of CBI -- the nodal agency for the Interpol.

The CBI stated:"Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje alias Chhota Rajan alias Mohan Kumar has been successfully deported to India from Indonesia today morning." "He is in the custody of CBI-Interpol, and legal formalities are in the process.

He was brought back in a special chartered aircraft from Indonesia by Indian agencies to avert any possible threat to his life by rival don Dawood Ibrahim's henchmen.

Not ready to take any chances, the agencies had deployed unprecedented security arrangements on his arrival. From the Palam technical area, he was brought to the CBI headquarters under heavy security arrangements that included bullet-proof and dummy cars and a team of crack commandos.

The CBI can keep Rajan in jug for 24 hours, during which time he will have to be produced before a magistrate to seek further remand. The CBI is expected to seek Rajan's remand in a fake passport case. He had secured a fake passport during his stay in Australia in the name of Mohan Kumar.

Cases lodged against Rajan with the Mumbai police will be transferred to the CBI in a day. The six cases of the Delhi police will be pursued separately. Rajan, 55, is wanted in more than 70 cases of murder, extortion and drug trafficking in Mumbai, under various stringent laws like POTA and MCOCA.

A medical team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences were brought in to conduct the mandatory medical examination on Rajan, after which he was pronounced medically stable and in no requirement of dialysis.

According to CBI sources, based on a tip-off from Australian agencies, Indonesian immigration officials pulled Rajan out of the immigration queue at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport.

When asked about his identification, Rajan mistakenly replied with his real name --Rajendra Nikhalje, as opposed to Mohan Kumar -- the name on the fake passport on which he was travelling. This faux pas led to his immediate arrest.

He later denied his original identity and refused to sign papers to that effect. Fingerprinting experts in Indonesia were called in to conduct tests and Rajan matched 11 out of 18 parameters that are required.

A seven-member unit that included officials from the CBI, Delhi police and Mumbai police arrived in Bali in mid-October to orchestrate the capture and arrest of the elusive gangster. This team had set up a control room and were in constant touch with the officers in New Delhi. Once jugged
Please don't kill me!
by Indonesian officials on October 25, the seven-member Indian unit facilitated Rajan's deportation to India and escorted the criminal on the special flight home.

Iraq
Child soldiers used in Iraq in fight against ISIS, rights watchdog reports
[Rudaw] Children as young as 10 are being used as soldiers in Iraq in the fight against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (ISIS), Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....
said in a recent report.

"Iraqi Shia militias fighting ISIS alongside Iraqi government forces are also using kids," said the report, exposing that ISIS is not the only gang sending children into battles.

According to the report, children used in the fight against ISIS have even been shown propaganda videos before being sent in to fight.

There is evidence that some of these child soldiers are a young as 10 years old, HRW reported.

It mentioned the case of Nur, an 11-year- old boy it said had fought with the Popular Mobilization Units, also known as Hashd al-Shabi, which has been fighting alongside the Iraqi Army. HRW said he had fought alongside his father in battles near Baghdad and in Baiji.

A Hashd video in May showed a 10-year-old girl identifying herself as Zahra and saying she is proud to fight ISIS, as she stands together with a group of men in military uniforms.

Iraqi Prime Minster Haider al-Abadi launched a large international conference in mid-June, highlighting the recruitment and use of children by ISIS and calling on the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
to condemn this.

Despite Abadi's call for an international response on ISIS using child soldiers, the Iraqi government has remained silent about allied Shiite militias engaged in the same practice.

From Basra to Diyala the Shiite militias have set up military training camps for children, a Basra-based activist and a journalist who visited several camps told HRW.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Bad tidings await Netanyahu on US trip
[Ynet] On the eve of the prime minister's flight to Washington, sources in the White House warn that there will not be good tidings regarding Israel's compensation package for the Iran nuclear deal in his meeting with Obama, saying that Federal budget cuts are part of the issue.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not be getting what he wants out of his trip to Washington, according to White House sources who spoke with the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
on Friday.
The New York Times once again carries the president's stick.
The sources claimed that Israel would not be getting an increased compensation package from the US government. Netanyahu is due to take off for Washington on Sunday in order to meet US President Barack Obama
The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person...
, the first meeting between the two since the signing of the Iran nuclear deal.

One of Netanyahu's central goals for the trip was to strike an agreement on a new defense deal for Israel for the next decade, including compensation Israel was supposed to receive in light of the Iran deal.

The White House sources noted that the issue would not come up in the meeting between Netanyahu and Obama, and furthermore claimed that any compensation would not be increased as had been suggested in earlier reports.

"There is no justification for an increased compensation package, especially in light of the Federal budget cuts and the current battle in Congress over the 'wastage' of the US government," a White House source said.

It was reported this week that Israel requested that the US raise its yearly security assistance sum from the current $3 billion to $5 billion. Israel's first proposal was leaked to Rooters by an Israeli source.

According to the document, Israel had been pushing for the desired $5 billion yearly aid package to run for 10 years -- amounting to a total sum of $50 billion. Obama is not expected to authorize this agreement, instead granting Israel a billion dollars less.
Oh no! Don't throw Brer Bibi into that briar patch, Mr. President!
Also overshadowing the forthcoming meeting are the soured relations between Jerusalem and Washington following Netanyahu's repeated attacks on the Iran deal, as well as his speech to Congress on the matter.

Following the deal, Democratic members of Congress also had their invitations to a Rosh Hashanah presser at the Israeli embassy in Washington canceled -- solely for the reason that they had voted in favor of the Iran agreement.

The New York Times claimed that Netanyahu had changed the compensation package proposal and that he was traveling to Washington in order to try and heal the rifts in the US-Israel relationship.

However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
the two sides still regard each with suspicion and mistrust.
The Times of Israel has more, noting in passing:
The [New York Times] further asserted that whatever deal the administrations eventually agree upon, it must be contingent on Netanyahu’s future cooperation over matters of mutual interest.
"Nice country ya got there. Be a shame if anything happened to it."

The Facebook intifada? Many terrorists aren’t on the social network
[IsraelTimes] Who are the attackers, what's driving them, and where is the ongoing terror surge headed? Here's what Israel's security services have established so far

Pundits have explained countless times over the past month, including on this site, that part of the current outburst of violence, perhaps even most of it, is the direct result of incitement on Paleostinian social media. Again and again, Facebook was singled out as a central driving engine of the latest escalation, which is described in Paleostinian media as the "al-Quds [Jerusalem] intifada."

But from interrogations by Israeli Sherlocks of the holy warriors and other attackers incarcerated
