ANA release new facts as Kunduz airstrike sparks rare uproar in Pakistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military said Friday that the latest findings of the Afghan national Army (ANA) reveals that five senior Pakistain military advisors supporting the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
were among those killed in Kunduz Arclight airstrike as the raid has sparked an unprecedented uproar in Pakistain.

According to the Shaheen Corps, the Pak advisors had apparently visited Dasht-e-Archi district to help coordinate the future spring offensive of the Taliban as well as helping the group to establish contacts with the certain regional countries.

Although the civilian deaths in Kunduz airstrike remains a disputed issue so far with investigations underway regarding the airstrike and civilian casualties, the unprecedented uproar in Pakistain has came as a matter utter surprise.

The current affairs observers, media outlets and activists are saying that the uproar regarding the airstrike in Pakistain is a complete surprise considering the silence of the protesters regarding the deadly attacks of the Taliban in Kabul and other provinces which claimed the lives of hundreds of ordinary civilians.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense officials are saying that the airstrike was carried out a main stronghold of the Taliban group in Dasht-e-Archi district which was also being used as the training camp by the group.

According to the defense officials, the raid was conducted based on accurate intelligence information and as a result several Taliban Lions of Islam including eighteen of their leaders were killed.

In regards to the civilian casualties, the Ministry of Defense front man Gen. Radmanish said the Afghan army helicopters attacked the the compound with rockets but the civilians sustained casualties from small fire arms.

According to Gen. Radmanish, the Talibs initially opened fire on army helicopters after their base was attacked with rockets and later opened fire on civilians.

Ghani shares concerns with Pak PM regarding shelling along Durand Line
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
shared Kabul’s concerns with Pak Prime Minister regarding the persistent artillery shelling from the other side of Durand Line on Afghan soil.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said President Ghani had serious talks with the Pak Prime Minister regarding the issue.

According to ARG Palace, President Ghani has told the Pak Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi that the current situation is in the favor of anyone, emphasizing that all concerns should be shared through official channels and must be resolved through negotiations.

This comes as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in a statement said Thursday that the Pak fighter planes dropped four bombs in Shahidan Saro area of Dangam district late on Wednesday.

The statement further added that the Arclight airstrike has caused massive property damages to the residents of the area.

The Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan called the attack a serious violation of the illusory sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.

The statement by the Foreign Ministry further added that the Islamic Theocratic Republic Afghanistan warns that the continuation of such steps, which are against the international principles and principles of good neighbors, will have dire consequences on bilateral relations of the two countries.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh launches billion dollar ‘model’ mosques to counter radicals
[DAWN] Bangladesh has launched a billion-dollar campaign to build hundreds of "model mosques", partly with Saudi funding, to try to counter radical Islam in the Moslem-majority country, officials said on Friday.

Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
, who inaugurated work on nine mosques through a video conference on Thursday, is also trying to bolster links with Moslem groups in an election year, according to analysts.

A bigwig said 560 "model mosques cum cultural centres" would be built in the next 30 months as part of a government attempt to fight extremism.

"In the next one to one and a half months, work on another 100 mosques will begin," Shahmim Afzal, who heads the government Islamic affairs department, said.

They will be used to preach against "distorted Islamic philosophy" of groups such as Bangladesh’s largest opposition Islamic party Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
and Egypt’s Moslem Brüderbund, the official added.

The country has been fighting Islamist extremism in recent years after Death Eaters carried out attacks on religious minorities, secular activists and foreigners.

Afzal said the centres of worship would be open to women, unlike most of the country’s 300,000 mosques, and would be equipped with libraries and cultural centres. "Each mosque will cost 150 million taka ($1.8 million)," he said.

Soros Organisations Seeking to ‘Break Hungary’ Ahead of Sunday Election, Says Government
[BREITBART] With Hungarians set to go to the polls on Sunday, a front man for the Prime Minister has warned organizations sponsored by billionaire financier George Soros
...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true...
are working to blackmail the country into accepting mass migration.
Labelling a leaked European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
paper a "Soros report" designed to force Hungary to bow to EU pressure to accept mass migration and other diktats, Zoltán Kovács said Hungarians would never accept the demands.

Remarking that changes proposed to the Dublin regulations which govern the movement of asylum seekers within the bloc would soon make Hungary taking migrants colonists mandatory, Kovács recalled how, "In recent weeks and days, several statements have been made concerning the systematic attempt to break Hungary that the Soros organizations are trying to achieve using various instruments."

He added: "We arrived at the latest stop in this process on Wednesday, when the European Parliament’s report that is in preparation against Hungary, and which will be presented next week, was leaked."

Fashion Week helps citizens in Istanbul feel secure again
Suuuuure they do.
[Atimes]The textile industry accounted for 18% of Turkey’s total exports last year, and with the 'City of minarets' shaken by terror attacks and war in neighboring Syria the event provided a psychological boost for citizens as well.

It’s no surprise that Istanbul would host a fashion week when textiles is one of the most vibrant and leading sectors in the local economy and one that invests in Turkish designers to become globally more competitive in the ready-to-wear market.
Hijabs and abayas now, niqabs no doubt to follow in the years to come. Even covered up girls want to look stylish.

PM Tsipras demands release of Greek soldiers held in Turkey
[Al Jazeera] Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has demanded the release of two Greek soldiers placed in durance vile
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, arguing that they should not be "pawns to blackmail".

"Human life and human freedom are not, and should not be, pawns to power games and blackmail," Tsipras said in a statement to Documento newspaper published on Saturday.

"In the past, we returned Ottoman Turkish soldiers who crossed a few metres into Greece while on patrol. I expect the Ottoman Turkish president to do the same," he said.

The two Greek soldiers are being held in pre-trial detention in Turkey, which accuses the duo of illegally crossing the border on March 2. The soldiers said they lost their way in the fog.

Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency reported last month that "military sketches" were found on a USB stick carried by the soldiers, adding that the soldiers are accused of "espionage".

In addition to the USB, two phones were found on Lieutenant Aggelos Mitretodis and Sergent Dimitrios Kouklatzis, along with a crypto-phone.

Athens contends that Ottoman Turkish authorities have not given adequate details of the charges and on what evidence they are based.

Pakistan calls on Afghan Taliban to join peace process
[Al Jazeera] Pakistain and Afghanistan have called upon the Afghan Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
to join a new grinding of the peace processor in the war-torn country, after a visit by the Pak prime minister to his country's northwestern neighbour, a statement said.

Pak Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
called upon the Taliban to avail the Afghan government's latest offer of direct talks without delay, according to a statement released by the Pak PM's office late on Friday.

"Both leaders called on the Taliban to respond positively to the peace offer and join the grinding of the peace processor without further delay," said the statement. "They agreed that there was no military solution to the ongoing Afghan conflict and that the political solution was the best way forward."

In February, Ghani offered to reopen negotiations with the Afghan Taliban "without preconditions", despite ongoing attacks.

He offered to recognise the group as a political party, and proposed a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners in a bid to begin a process that could end more than 16 years of war.

The Taliban have not yet officially responded to that offer.

From Ankara to Moscow, Eurasia integration is on the move
Disclaimer - I really posted this article just because of the photo!
[Atimes] The Russia-led Eurasia Economic Union is spreading its wings and gaining strength, with some key projects, big players and big plans in the pipeline.

As presidents Vladimir Putin, Hassan Rouhani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Ankara for a second Russia-Iran-Turkey summit on the future of Syria, Moscow hosted its 7th International Security Conference attended by defense ministers from dozens of nations.

A more graphic illustration of the synchronicity drive towards Eurasia integration would be hard to find.

Crucially, China sent not only a high-ranking delegation to Moscow, but most of all a loud and clear message. General Wei Fenghe, the new Chinese Defense Minister, side by side with Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu, said: “The Chinese side came to let the Americans know about the close ties between the Russian and Chinese armed forces.” Shoigu, for his part, underlined the “special character” of the Russia-China partnership.
So it's COLD-WAR II?
And then Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, expanded the scope, saying “foreign plans” related to security in the Middle East would inevitably fail – they must be hatched within Southwest Asia.

What happened in Moscow necessarily must be crossed over with what happened in Ankara.

For the Ankara meeting, the foreign ministers of Russia (Sergey Lavrov), Iran (Mohammad Javad Zarif) and Turkey (Mevlut Cavusoglu) met in Astana in early April to prepare the terrain.

The final joint statement is unmistakable, emphasizing their common commitment to the sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity of Syria.

The fact that Ankara is Putin’s first foreign trip after reelection speaks volumes.

Northern Syria, however, remains a much trickier proposition, as we have a de facto NATO versus NATO subplot; Turkish troops versus the YPG Kurds, a proxy US force.

The fact that the SAA-Russia offensive in eastern Ghouta happened in parallel to the neo-Orwellian Operation Olive Branch by the Turks in the Kurdish canton of Afrin spells out a complex Russia-Iran-Turkey deal worked out in Astana – as diplomats confirmed to Asia Times.

With the prospect of Syrian reconstruction finally at hand, Beijing will turbo-charge its plans to turn Syria into a key Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) node.

According to Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi, nearly US$1 billion worth of agreements on energy, trade and finance have already been signed. Previously, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad promised that nations which helped Syria fight terrorism “have the right to be at the forefront” of those restoring the country’s economy.

That means, essentially, Russia, Iran and China. It remains to be seen what role – if any – will be played by Erdogan’s new Ottomanism.

Liberman: A festival of hypocrisy
h/t Gates of Vienna
[IsraelNationalNews] Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman addressed yesterday's violent riots at the Gaza border fence Saturday night.

"The Passover holiday, which ends at this hour, was one of the quietest and safest we have known in recent years. Our preparations at the Gaza border have proven themselves, and the Israeli people owe great thanks to the thousands of IDF soldiers, Shin Bet and police officers who worked very hard and thwarted any attempt to challenge us," Liberman said.

"Hamas sends terrorists under the guise of civilians to attack our sovereignty, but the world presents this terror parade as a civil protest. This is a festival of hypocrisy. Over the weekend, Assad massacred 48 civilians, including 8 children and 6 women. The UN secretary-general did not call for a commission of inquiry, the Security Council did not convene, the Arab League ignored it, and the BBC, of course, did not see or hear anything," he added.

The death toll in the demonstrations in the Gaza Strip against the security fence rose to nine Saturday, with the deaths of two of the injured, including Yasser Murtha, shot in the stomach near Khan Yunis and who Arab sources claim was a journalist.

A total of 1,356 people were injured, 35 of them seriously, according to a statement issued last night. 399 of them hit by live ammunition, 16 by rubber bullets, 143 suffered injuries from gas inhalation and 25 were struck by shrapnel.

Three hunters are out on safari -- an American, a Brit and an Israeli. They are captured by cannibals who start getting the cooking pots ready. The cannibal chief tells the hunters they can have one last wish.

"What's your last request?" he asks the American.

"I'd like a steak," he replies.

So the cannibals kill a zebra and serve the American his steak.

"What do you want?" the cannibal chief asks the Brit.

"I'd like to have a smoke on my pipe," which they let him do.

Then the chief asks the Israeli: "What's your last wish?"

"I want you to kick my rear end."

"Be serious," says the top cannibal.

"C'mon, you promised," says the Israeli.

"Oh, all right," says the chief, who delivers the requested kick. Whereupon, the Israeli pulls out a gun, shoots the chief and a few other cannibals while the rest run away.

The American and Brit are furious.

"Why didn't you do that in the first place, so we wouldn't have had to go through all this?" they demand.

Replies the Israeli: "What? Are you mad? The UN would have condemned me as the aggressor.

1,500 march in Sakhnin in solidarity with Gaza
Arab Israelis exercising freedoms of speech and assembly, because as full citizens they have the same rights as Jewish Israelis.
[Ynet] Arab journalists, MKs hold up photos of Paleostinian journalist Yaser Murtaja, who was killed in Gazoo festivities on Friday, saying 'Israel killed him and stole his dreams'; Abed Masarwa from Wadi Ara warns that 'Arabs in such situations are like a ticking bomb that could blow up in the face of such a fascist
...anybody not a leftist...
government.'

Some 1,500 people, including Arab members of Knesset, participated in a protest march in Sakhnin on Saturday in solidarity with the Paleostinians in Gazoo.

Marchers were waving Paleostinian flags and calling out "Gazoo residents are heroes," "Oh martyr, rest and we will continue the struggle."

Arab journalists and MKs held up the photo of Yaser Murtaja, a Paleostinian journalist killed during the festivities on the Gazoo border on Friday, which also claimed the lives of eight others.

The photos Murtaja bore the writing "Yaser Murtaja, a journalist from Gazoo that Israel killed and stole his dreams."

"Hurting six journalists, wounding them with gunfire and killing Murtaja while he's taking photos away from the fence, indicates decisions and orders that were manifestly illegal," said journalist Wadi Ouadah from Kafr Kanna.

He called on Israeli journalists "to raise their voice in protest of the harm done to their Paleostinian colleagues, while they were identifiable as journalists."

"This is a human, moral and ethical obligation of the Israeli journalists to protest and join all seekers of justice and peace, those with conscience and mind. They must ask for an investigation to check who bears responsible for this grave crime," Ouadah added.

Another participant said that "the IDF conduct in Gazoo is unacceptable and inhumane. What do they expected from a people under siege for over nine years, without work or livelihood, with no possibility of leaving, flying abroad, traveling and living their lives. Every few hours they have a power outage, even when it's hot or cold."

She claimed Gazoo was under occupation because it was under siege. "What do you want from a people living under a harsh and cruel blockade? A people like that could sacrifice their lives for freedom," she argued.

Abed Masarwa from Wadi Ara said what's happening to the Gazoo residents "is called genocide. They're being eliminated like cockroaches. Like there is no value for civilians there. But they have a right to live. This government continues making it hard on Gazoo and its residents and causes their situation to deteriorate."

He vowed that "We, the Arabs of 1948, will not stand idly by. Leave Gazoo, stay away from it. The Arabs in such situations are like a ticking bomb that could blow up in the face of such a fascist government."

The demonstration was organized by High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran hit by global cyber attack that left U.S. flag on screens
Al-Rooters
Hackers have attacked networks in a number of countries including data centers in Iran where they left the image of a U.S. flag on screens along with a warning: "Don’t mess with our elections", the Iranian IT ministry said on Saturday.

"The attack apparently affected 200,000 router switches across the world in a widespread attack, including 3,500 switches in our country," the Communication and Information Technology Ministry said in a statement carried by Iran’s official news agency IRNA.

The statement said the attack, which hit internet service providers and cut off web access for subscribers, was made possible by a vulnerability in routers from Cisco which had earlier issued a warning and provided a patch that some firms had failed to install over the Iranian new year holiday.

A blog published on Thursday by Nick Biasini, a threat researcher at Cisco’s Talos Security Intelligence and Research Group, said: "Several incidents in multiple countries, including some specifically targeting critical infrastructure, have involved the misuse of the Smart Install protocol...

Iran's IT Minister Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi posted a picture of a computer screen on Twitter with the image of the U.S. flag and the hackers' message. He said it was not yet clear who had carried out the attack.

Azari-Jahromi said the attack mainly affected Europe, India and the United States, state television reported.

"Some 55,000 devices were affected in the United States and 14,000 in China, and Iran's share of affected devices was 2 percent," Azari-Jahromi was quoted as saying.

Rebels and civilians used tunnels to survive the near total destruction of Ghouta
[DAWN] ALL battles and bombardments share their secrets one by one. Eastern Ghouta is no different. Why the sudden, savage bombardment of these Syrian towns and villages more than three weeks ago? Why the wasteland of homes and streets ‐ and how did so many of the civilians survive, along with hundreds of Islamist button men?

You can do no better that start your enquiry in a front line dugout near Arbeen, on the old and now war-smashed international highway between Damascus and Aleppo. It is protected by oil barrels of solid concrete, an iron roof, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, a couple of rifles and a rusting cycle of violence, presumably to carry messages when the lines were cut. "Twenty mortars a day," one of the Syrian soldiers says, rolling his eyes.

And now it is over, he hopes. But ‐ aside from the oil lamps and the cups of ’mutta’ tea (an outrageous non-alcoholic brew originating from Argentine plants, which the Syrian army drinks by the pint) ‐ what catches your attention is the absence of a single trench.

Islamic State militant gives insight into group’s drone industry
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
bad boy has given an insight into the group’s world of drone-making, a vital weapon the forces of Evil relied on in their wars in Iraq and Syria since 2014.

Meeting with the Saudi bad boy, who is locked up in a jail in the Syrian Kurdish town of Dayrik, on the Ottoman Turkish Syrian borders, and managed by the Syrian Democratic Forces, Saudi newspaper Okaz quoted him saying that he joined IS in Syria late 2013 at the age of 16.

"The group obtained the drones, some Chinese- and others U.S.-made, through smuggling from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
". He added that when the Ottoman Turkish borders were closed, smugglers shifted to running the process through the Syrian cities of Idlib and Aleppo.

He said the group used three models of drones, and that the flying range of one of them reached 600 kilometers.

He added that he used to work at the Islamic State’s "aviation central", an elite squad of 12, including himself, which was strictly limited to those members fearing infiltration.

The squad was under the command of an Australian national nicknamed Abu Omar, the fighter, who asked not to be named, told the newspaper. It comprised two experts from Australia, one from the U.K. and the rest from Tunisia and Pakistain.

According to the bad boy, the group was preparing a secret device that would bring down hostile drones through high-voltage radio frequencies, but the British national working on it was killed in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the group’s former capital.
