Fire captain’s son killed on Christmas weekend by man held on immigration violation charges
[BIZPACREVIEW] Another American citizen ‐ this one a young 22-year-old Tennessee man ‐ has been killed because of the country’s inability to properly secure its overwhelmed southern border.

"Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, was driving a Chevrolet truck north on Chapman Highway Saturday evening when ... he veered into the southbound lane near the 4700 block and hit a Honda Civic driven by Pierce Kennedy Corcoran," the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

Corcoran was the son of Knoxville Fire Department Capt. DJ Corcoran. He and his passenger, 21-year-old Jade Damecia Adams, were reportedly transferred to a hospital. He died shortly thereafter.

On Saturday night 22yo Pierce Kennedy Corcoran of Knoxville, Tenn was killed in a deadly crash.

The driver is in jug and charged with criminally negligent homicide, no driver’s license, no proof of insurance. He was also being held on immigration violation charges.

The young man’s killer, Francisco-Eduardo, is, on the other hand, a criminal alien who’s been found to have no driver’s license and no insurance. His arrest records show that he also has an unfulfilled detainer request on him from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Black Panther 'hero' terrorist Mumia Abu Jamal to get new appeal
[NYPost] Ex-Black Panther Abu-Jamal, nee Wesley Cook, shot then-25-year-old Officer Daniel Faulkner in the back and face during a Philadelphia traffic stop.

Ballistics confirmed Faulkner was killed
(in 1981)
with Abu-Jamal's gun. Three eyewitnesses identified him as the killer. For years, he denied having committed the crime.

Yet the left glorified him as a political prisoner and victim of a racist judicial system. NPR made him an on-air commentator; college campuses invited him to speak via remote. Celebrities marched for him.
(The new AG of Minnesota, Keith Ellison is a fan boy of Mumia)
His life was spared after winning an appeal over flawed jury instructions;
(in 2011)
he was re sentenced to life without parole. Now, six years after the court nixed another appeal, Common Pleas Judge Leon Tucker has ordered that court to reconsider.

Africa Horn
Somalia orders top UN official to leave
[AlAhram] Somalia has kicked out the country's top United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
official in a decision likely to harm relations with foreign powers backing government attempts to restore stability after decades of turmoil.

The government accused Nicholas Haysom, Special Representative of the U.N. Secretary-General, of interfering with internal affairs.

Haysom raised questions in a Dec. 30 letter about the involvement of U.N.-supported Somali security forces in the arrest of a former murderous Moslem of the Islamist al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
group who was blocked from running in a recent regional election.

Haysom "is not required and cannot work in this country", the foreign affairs ministry said. "He openly breached the appropriate conduct of the U.N. office in Somalia," said the statement late on Tuesday, which effectively makes the South African persona non grata.

There was no immediate comment from the U.N. mission which also supports an African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
peacekeeping force fighting al-Shabaab.

Haysom's letter to the interior security minister expressed concern over the government's handling of the arrest of former Shabaab leader Mukhtar Robow and subsequent unrest last month.

At least 15 non-combatants were killed and around 300 people detained, most of them children, when protests erupted after Robow's arrest in the southern city of Baidoa, according to the U.N. letter.

The government said Robow was incarcerated
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
on suspicion that he had brought Death Eaters and weapons back to Baidoa, the capital of South West region where he tried to contest for president in last month's election.

His arrest sparked festivities between bandidos turbans loyal to Robow and Somali forces. Æthiopian security forces, who are part of an African Union peacekeeping force, were also involved.

Al-Shabaab has sought for over a decade to topple the central government and implement its strict version of Islamic law. It was driven out of the capital in 2011 but maintains a foothold in some regions including South West.

Robow renounced violence and recognised federal authority in 2017.

n the letter, Haysom asked the minister to explain the legal basis for Robow's arrest. He also asked what action had been taken to investigate the deaths during the demonstrations in Baidoa following the arrest.

The U.N. letter also contained an annexed letter from the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, Germany and Britannia announcing the suspension of their support to the police in South West state due to their conduct during last month's election.

Haysom also detailed the U.N. support to the Somali police force and the South West regional police which includes the payment of stipends to the police.

The United Nations is a major backer of Somalia, a country that has lacked strong central government since 1991. The government's decision over Haysom could intensify a confrontation between Mogadishu and the semi-autonomous regions.

Algeria bans Syrians from entering country through southern border
[ALMASDARNEWS] Algeria has barred all Syrians from entering the country via its southern border with Mali and Niger to keep out members of defeated rebel groups from Syria deemed to pose a security risk, a bigwig said on Wednesday.

Hassen Kacimi, the official in charge of migrants colonists policy at the interior ministry, told Rooters that Syrians seeking refuge in Algeria in this way were suspected to be Islamist Lions of Islam and were not welcome.

Algeria went through years of devastating civil war with hardcore jihadist groups in the 1990s. While violence is now greatly diminished, sporadic attacks continue in isolated areas.

"We have hosted 50,000 Syrians in the past few years for humanitarian reasons," Kacimi said, alluding to refugees from Syria’s civil war, "but we cannot accept members of gangs fleeing from Syria when it comes to our security."

He said around 100 had reached the southern border with the help of local armed escorts in recent weeks but were intercepted and expelled shortly after they slipped into Algeria.

Kacimi said these Syrians had transited The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....

"Definitely this is a criminal network and we must be very vigilant not to allow them get into Algeria," he said.

Islami Andolan musters 3rd highest votes, wins no seats
[Dhaka Tribune] In the 11th parliamentary elections, the Islami Andolan Bangladesh
...a minor Islamist party which in the days of Bangla Bhai served as a recruiting agency for the JMB...
(IAB) has bagged the third highest number of votes, following Awami League-led Grand Alliance and BNP-led Jatiya Oikya Front.

Yet, the party could not manage securing a single seat in the December 30 polls. The IAB also rejected the election results, amid claims of harassment and intimidation of its polling agents and voters.

According the Election Commission, 80,259,172 votes were cast, which is 77% of the country’s total number of eligible voters.

Of the total votes, the Awami League received 61,703,251 votes (77%), and won 288 parliamentary seats out of 298, where results have been announced.

Oikya Front, which won only seven seats, got 9,229,712 votes, while the IAB got 1,236,983, according to the Election Commission tally.

Speaking to the Dhaka Tribune earlier, IAB Dhaka city south unit President Imtiaz Ahmed said winning seats is not currently the party’s goal. Instead, the IAB wishes to increase the total number of their followers.

Central American Countries Are Helping Middle Easterners Illegally Enter The United States
[Federalist] In December 2018, the Center for Immigration Studies dispatched Senior National Security Fellow Todd Bensman to Panama and Costa Rica to investigate President Donald Trump’s widely ridiculed assertions that suspected terrorists had been apprehended among Middle East migrants through Latin America. Panama is a geographic chokepoint, or bottleneck, through which migrants from countries of the Middle East, who are moving out of South America, must push on their way to the U.S. border.

The following article is based on Bensman’s on-the-ground research over two weeks. His video reports, photos, and writings from the trip can be found here.

Golfito, Costa Rica ‐ It was here in March 2017, at the main aluminum structure of a government migrant camp, that federal Costa Rican police arrested Ibrahim Qoordheen of Somalia as a suspected al Shabaab terrorist operative on his way to the U.S. southern border.

Australia stands by cancelling citizenship of IS recruiter despite Fiji challenge
[AlAhram] Australia's government is confident it has grounds to strip an alleged Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
recruiter of citizenship, a minister said on Wednesday, as questions arose over whether doing so could be illegal and leave the man stateless.

The case highlights the problems many governments face as they consider what action to take against people who have travelled abroad, often to the Middle East, to join hard boy groups.

Under Australian law, a person can only be stripped of their citizenship if they are dual citizens, thereby preventing people from being made stateless.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said Melbourne-born Neil Prakash, who is imprisoned in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
, was a dual citizen as he also has Fijian citizenship,.

Prakash ceased to be an Australian "by virtue of his actions in fighting for Islamic State from May 2016", and he had been notified of the decision in December, Dutton said.

"The advice to the government based on all the intricate detail and fact of this particular matter is that Mr Prakash is, by operation of law, a citizen of Fiji," Dutton told news hounds in Brisbane.

"The other point to make is that Mr Prakash is sitting in a Ottoman Turkish jail at the moment ... Prakash is not coming anywhere near our part of the world any time soon."

Prakash has been in Turkey on trial for charges relating to being a member of the Islamic State hard boy group since being caught there in October 2016.

Australia believes Prakash is a dual national because his father was Fijian.

However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
Fiji's director of immigration, Nemani Vuniwaqa, told Rooters in a Facebook message that Prakash was not Fijian, which could complicate the Australian government's bid to strip him of his citizenship.

Prakash can challenge the Australian government's decision, Dutton said, and he could be entitled to retain his citizenship if he does not hold dual-citizenship status.

The government wrongly reported in 2016, based on U.S. intelligence, that Prakash had been killed in an air strike in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Iraq.

The government said he had appeared in Islamic State videos and magazines and had actively recruited Australian men, women and kiddies, and encouraged acts of terrorism

He is also wanted in Australia over terrorism-related activities including a suspected plot to behead a police officer, though an Australian push for his extradition was rejected by Turkey in July.

A front man for the Fijian prime minister could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.

Lahore ATC grants 20-day physical remand of Khadim Rizvi, others
[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday granted police a 20-day physical remand of Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, Pir Afzal Qadri, Pir Ijaz Ashrafi and Hafiz Farooqul Hassan.

Civil Lines police officials, after producing Rizvi in court amid tight security, sought a 60-day remand of the holy man.

Furthermore, they told the ATC judge that interrogators need to conduct accused's photogrammetric test, which according to a counsel, is the process of proving that the person in a video or audio clip is the person accused.

The court, after hearing the arguments, remanded Rizvi and others into police custody for 20 days.

On Nov 23, 2018, Rizvi was taken into 'protective custody' by police from Lahore as law enforcement agencies launched a massive crackdown against workers of TLP.

According to the figures issued by the government, a total of 2,899 people were taken into protective custody from across Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

while 139 persons from Sindh and 126 from Islamabad were also taken into custody during the crackdown.

The crackdown had come two days before the TLP was going to resume its protest against the Supreme Court's verdict acquitting a blasphemy accused Aasia Bibi.

Officials found involved in human smuggling, admits FIA
[DAWN] The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has acknowledged that its officials, in connivance with the employees of the Pakistain International Airlines (PIA), have been involved in a human smuggling ring that also worked in Europe.

The report forwarded by the FIA director general to the interior ministry and the Establishment Division on Wednesday highlights that human smuggling investigation was carried out on a complaint by the British High Commission in 2014.

Sources in the interior ministry said that the report dated January 1, 2019, was received by the ministry on Wednesday and it clearly blamed the ’Anti-Human Trafficking Cell’ of FIA for not taking any action over the complaint.

According to the complaint, 20 Afghan nationals caught at Heathrow airport were smuggled from Benazir Bhutto
... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. Suspects include, to note just a few, Baitullah Mehsud, General Pervez Musharraf, the ISI, al-Qaeda in Pakistain, and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, who shows remarkably little curiosity about who done her in...
International Airport Islamabad (BBIAP).

The report has blamed then FIA director Inam Ghani for ’thrashing the inquiry’. "He being director of FIA Islamabad Zone removed legal barriers such as the checking of flights just to facilitate the human smuggling through BBIAP, without his connivance it was impossible for the PIA and FIA immigration staff at BBIAP to run the human smuggling network of Afghan nationals on fake Pak passports."

The report added: "This matter was otherwise a national security threat in the prevailing circumstances of Afghan / Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
playing havoc in the country."

The report has said that the inquiry into the matter did not proceed further and the accused in the initial inquiry continued to be posted at the same airport and the investigation was diverted on the grounds that the Afghan nationals did not pass through the FIA immigration counter.

The investigation conducted by the FIA in 2014-15 showed that there was no data of Afghan nationals at the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) maintained by the FIA immigration cell, and there was no CCTV footage of those persons crossing the FIA counter at the airport.

"It was stated in the investigation report that the Afghan nationals were smuggled out through the domestic departure longue bypassing the FIA immigration counter," the report said and added that these claims were proven false in later inquiries.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
the detailed report finalised by the FIA DG has highlighted that the CCTV footage of the FIA was corrupted deliberately whereas the CCTV footage of the Civil Aviation Authority proved that the Afghan nationals caught at Heathrow travelled through the FIA counter but their passports were not scanned at the IBMS. To match the numbers of passengers travelling on the PIA flight to London the FIA officials duplicated the data of genuine passengers so that their total number in FIA data was the same as the number of boarding pass issued by the airline.

The report unearthed that each group was accompanied with one carrier or controller who was responsible to take the smuggled persons out of airport in the UK. It has named deputy director Tahir Jan Durrani, inspector Afzal Niazi, assistant director Rana Abid Hussain and assistant director Adnan Khan Lahani who had financial / telephonic links with the human smuggling racket.

An interior ministry official said about 30 FIA officials, who had been suspected to be involved in the human smuggling, had been suspended.

"Human smugglers have become part of international crime rackets that is why they are able to book return tickets without even a genuine passport number," he said.

Iraq
Iraq not obliged to heed US sanctions on Iran: Iraqi FM
[Rudaw] Iraq is pursuing options to continue trade with neighbour Iran as it isn’t obliged to abide by US sanctions, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Ali al-Hakim on Wednesday.

"These sanctions, the siege, or what is called the embargo, these are unilateral, not international. We are not obliged [to follow] them," Hakim told journalists at a roundtable with members of the media.

Some "possibilities" have been proposed that would keep trade routes open with Iran, "including dealing in Iraqi dinars in bilateral trade," he added.

Another idea floating around is to create a fund for payments to Iran that would be used to buy goods on Iran’s behalf, the minister said.

Trade between Iraq and Iran, who share a nearly 1,500-kilometre long border, is at $12 billion, according to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. After meeting with Iraqi President Barham Salih in November, he said he envisioned trade growing to $20 billion.

Iraq imports electricity from Iran to supplement its inadequate supply. It also depends on Iranian gas to fuel domestic electricity generation. Iraq’s electricity minister last week signed an agreement with Iran’s energy minister to continue this cooperation in the energy sector.

The United States has given Baghdad another 90 days before of grace before it has to abide by sanctions on Iran.

The majority of Iraq’s Shiite parties have rejected the US sanctions against Iran, calling them "unjust" and "oppressive." Former prime minister Haider al-Abadi caused uproar among pro-Iran parties and Iran itself when he said Iraq is committed to the sanctions.

Operation Northern Shield May Not Find All Hezbollah Tunnels -- IDF Intel Chief
Nonetheless, significantly reducing the number of ingress points will significantly reduce the impact of attacks through them, one suspects.
[SPUTNIKNEWS] Last week, an Israel Defence Forces front man said the operation to destroy tunnels dug by the Lebanese Hezbollah movement along the border between Israel and Leb launched last month would take several more weeks to complete.
The end goal of Operation Northern Shield, the military operation to destroy Hezbollah "attack tunnels" running from Leb into Israel is to "thwart" the group's attack plans, not to destroy every single tunnel, Israeli military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Tamir Hyman has said.

"I want to emphasize that we are not talking about an operation whose goal is to destroy the attack tunnel capacity of Hezbollah, but rather...to thwart Hezbollah's primary attack plan," the officer said, speaking at a presser in Tel Aviv, The Jerusalem Post has reported.

According to Hyman, Hezbollah's "plan" had been to "conquer villages on the Northern border and to penetrate the area near the border" to stop Israel from deploying a stronger military presence in the area in the event of a conflict, and to prevent the IDF from concentrating its operations on the Lebanese side of the border in the event of war.

Hyman stressed that the operation to find and eliminate the tunnels on the Israeli side of the border have given the IDF possible 'tactical advantages' to use against Hezbollah tunnels on the Lebanese side of the border as well. The military intelligence chief did not clarify whether Israel would use these advantages in covert operations, or a situation of a broader war.

Mosques, Muzzled? Jerusalem Mayor Working to Quiet Calls to Prayer in City
[SPUTNIKNEWS] Jerusalem's new mayor, Moshe Lion, is working on a proposal that would quiet the call to prayer broadcast by the city's mosques and give police the power to intervene if the religious message is deemed to be too loud.

According to Israel's Hadashot TV, local leaders in Paleostinian and Arab East Jerusalem neighborhoods like Beit Safafa, Beit Hanina and Shuafat are involved in working out the proposal. "Our goal is to deal with this issue with all the relevant parties so that all those involved will be content," Lion said, according to the network's Tuesday report.

The noise reduction program calls for mosques' loudspeakers to be replaced by new devices that are limited to lower volumes, and would also allow police to alter the volume of loudspeakers found to be exceeding set limits. The budget reportedly set aside for hardware replacements is about $13,000 to $19,000. According to a 2016 report by Israel's UN mission, there are 73 mosques in Jerusalem.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Russia to mediate new talks between Syrian Kurds, Damascus: official
[Rudaw] The Syrian Kurdish administration is looking to Russia to mediate talks between them and Damascus that would include "comprehensive defence" of their territory, a bigwig has said.

A delegation from the self-autonomous region of northern Syria went to Moscow to meet with representatives of Russia’s Foreign Ministry on December 14, 2018. The visit was prompted by America’s announced withdrawal from the country, leaving the Kurds exposed to an attack by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
In their visit, the Kurdish delegation presented a roadmap for dialogue focusing on protecting northern Syria "according to a comprehensive defence system of Syria from external threats," constitutionally including their region in a unified Syria, and fair distribution of economic wealth in the country, Bedran Ciya Kurd, a bigwig in the Kurdish administration, told local ANHA news on Monday.

They asked Russia to mediate such a dialogue. Moscow has a lot of influence over Syria’s affairs as Bashir al-Assad’s closest ally and a friend to Turkey.

Ciya Kurd said they were told by Russia’s Foreign Ministry they would take their role as mediator "very seriously" and were ready to "work together to protect the illusory sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria."

The Russian’s are expected to formulate a plan for new dialogue based on the Kurdish proposal, he added.

The Kurdish administration tried talking with Damascus in the summer, but negotiations quickly died when the regime demanded too much from the self-autonomous region that wants to hold onto its achievements.

An unexpected US departure, however, has left them vulnerable to a Ottoman Turkish invasion. Ankara considers the Kurdish groups bully boyz with ties to the PKK.

, who initially wanted a speedy exit from Syria, has agreed to slow down the process after his announcement was criticized from all corners.

According to a New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

report on Monday, he has agreed to give the military four months to withdraw its 2,000 troops. The military said they need time to make decisions about the equipment they have in the country ‐ whether to move it out, leave it in the hands of the Kurds, or disable it so it’s useless if it falls into the hands of America’s regional foes like Damascus and Iran.

While Russia would like more details on Washington’s plan, it welcomed the US departure from Syria and said it wants to see the regime return to areas the Americans vacate.

Turkey has said that a military offensive against the Kurds won’t happen for a few months, but it has not eased up on preparations.

Turkey’s Defence Minister Hulusi Akar spent his New Year inspecting troops on the border with Syria where he reiterated that they will not allow any threat on their border with Syria.

Trump: Iran ‘can do what they want’ in Syria
So he did. And then he said more.
[IsraelTimes] US president says that Tehran, pressured by sanctions, is now ’pulling people out’ of countries and ’only wants to survive’

US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
on Wednesday gave Iran free rein to further entrench itself in Syria, but claimed that Tehran was no longer seeking to bolster its presence in the beleaguered country.

"They can do what they want there, frankly," he told news hounds, referring to Iranian forces.

Trump, on Wednesday, said that Tehran, like the US, was withdrawing its forces from Syria.

"Iran is no longer the same country," he said. "Iran is pulling people out of Syria. They can do what they want there, frankly, but they’re pulling people out. They’re pulling people out of Yemen. Iran wants to survive now."

The president went on to say that in pulling out of the nuclear deal with Iran last year, Washington had changed Tehran’s calculus and stymied its efforts to destabilize, and spread its influence throughout, the region.

"Iran was going to take over everything and destroy Israel while they’re at it. Iran is a much different country right now," he said, in comments that were at times incoherent. "They’re having riots every week in every country. I’d love to negotiate with Iran... but Iran is a much different country right now."

Trump offered a stark take on the situation in Syria Wednesday, summing it up in two words ‐ "sand and death" ‐ while remaining vague about the timing of the US troop withdrawal.

"So Syria was lost long ago. It was lost long ago. And besides that, I don’t want ‐ we’re talking about sand and death. That’s what we’re talking about," Trump said during a cabinet meeting. "We’re not talking about vast wealth. We’re talking about sand and death."

On when US forces would leave Syria, Trump said: "I don’t want to be in Syria forever."

He added: "I never said we are getting out overnight... We’re withdrawing... over a period of time."

Trump blamed Syria’s instability on the policies of his predecessor, Barack Obama

, who didn’t attack Assad after he crossed the former US president’s "red line" of using chemical weapons on his own people.

"You can’t make a threat and then do nothing. So Syria was lost long ago," Trump said. "Beside that, we’re talking about sand and death. We’re not talking about vast wealth."

Old rivalries never die: Jaysh Al-Islam vows to fight HTS in northwest Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Islamist group Jaish al-Islam
...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra.
