Al-Shabaab shows militants lecturing locals after AU base attack in Somalia
[Garowe] The al-Qaeda-linked Somalia-based al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
Death Eaters made a dramatic show in El-Baraf town in central Somalia just a few weeks after they ran over a Burundi Forward Operating Base, where they killed over 30 peacekeeping soldiers in the country.

The Death Eaters have continued to wreak havoc in the Horn of Africa nation, killing thousands of innocent civilians, security forces, and senior government officials. Largely, the group controls huge sections of rural central and southern Somalia.

Photos posted by friendly media outlets showed the Death Eaters addressing locals are E-Baraf town, not far away from where they killed Burundian soldiers serving in the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS] which is in charge of security responsibilities

One of the lead Death Eaters is seen addressing locals in the company of gunnies, an indication that the group may have recaptured the town, further eroding gains made by the African Union Transition Mission and the Somali National Army [SNA].

After the attack on the El-Baraf Forward Operating Base, reports emerged, and the troops started relocating, something which could have created a void in the town, leading to the entry of al-Shabaab into the area. Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble had urged the Burundi troops to stay put.

The attack on the Burundian contingent was the worst in as many years on the peacekeeping mission troops. According to statistics, the Death Eaters attacked El-Adde Forward Operating Base managed by Kenya Defense Forces in 2016, killing over 200 troops.

In 2017, the Death Eaters also attacked the Kulbiyow Forward Operating Base leaving over 70 Kenyan troops dead besides confiscating various equipment. The Death Eaters usually target army bases besides using Improvised Explosive Devices in the country.

The Department of State and Pentagon recently noted that the al-Shabaab has continued to expand territories in Somalia, calling for more vigilance. The US has since dispatched over 500 soldiers to the Horn of Africa nation, just a year after withdrawal.

Tunisia judges strike after mass sackings, Saied 'interference'
[AnNahar] Tunisian judges launched a week-long strike Monday in protest at President Kais Saied's "interference" in the judiciary, days after he sacked 57 of their colleagues.

Saied -- who suspended parliament in a power grab last July -- issued a new decree last week extending his control over the judiciary, his latest move against the only democratic system to emerge from the Arab Spring uprisings.

On Saturday, four judges' unions announced a nationwide court strike, strongly condemning the president's "continued interference in the judiciary".

They accused Saied of laying off judges "without the slightest recourse to disciplinary procedures" in an affront to the constitution.

The president had at an earlier cabinet meeting accused unnamed judges of corruption, stalling "terrorism" cases, sexual harassment, collusion with political parties and obstruction of justice.

Mourad Massoudi, head of the Young Judges' Union, told AFP on Monday that "the strike started today at all courts across the country, and appears to have been widely observed".

Courts will stay open for terrorism cases.

Saied on July 25 last year sacked the government and suspended parliament, later dissolving the assembly, seizing control of the judiciary and moving to rule by decree.

Many Tunisians initially welcomed his assault on an often deadlocked political system seen as corrupt and ineffective, but opponents have accused him of sweeping away Tunisia's hard-won democratic institutions.

Saied has inveighed against official corruption and repeated called for a total overhaul of the country's political system.

He plans to hold a referendum on a new constitution -- yet to be published -- on the anniversary of his power grab.

UN official, activists say slain terrorist another 'Palestinian journalist killed' by IDF
[JPost] Ghufran Warasneh was shot when attempting to stab IDF troops, and was arrested for a previous stabbing attempt.

Ghufran Warasneh, who had been shot by IDF troops on Wednesday when she allegedly approached them brandishing a knife, was characterized by UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory Francesca Albanese and Palestinian activists as being "another journalist killed" by Israel last week.

“The news of another Palestinian journalist killed, hits with deep sorrow," tweeted Albanese. She called for journalists to be respected and not harmed, and to actively ensure that they were protected. "Condemning the death of a prominent journalist while glossing over the rest, breeds impunity."

The tweet was later deleted, according to Albanese, accidentally.

"The Israeli apartheid regime just shot and killed the second Palestinian journalist in less than a month," said Benjamin Norton, editor at Multipolarista.

"Ghufran Warasneh, Palestinian journalist shot dead today by the Israelis."
Journalist Richard Medhurst

Pro-Israel critics asserted that Warasneh had been involved in a terrorist attack near the al-Arroub refugee camp at the time of her death, and had previously been arrested for another stabbing attack attempt. According to Channel 12, Warasneh had been involved in a previous attack.

"Of course what the UN Palestinian ’Special Rapporteur’ conveniently omits is that the so-called ’journalist’ Ghufran Warasneh lunged at IDF soldiers with a knife in attempt to kill them...and that was not first time she tried that," Arsen Ostrovsky, chairman and CEO of The International Legal Forum, replied to Albanese.

Israel's gov't in crisis after rebel MKs sink West Bank emergency bill
[JPost] The coalition failed to pass a directive giving Israel jurisdiction over Israelis in the West Bank that has been approved every five years since 1967.

In a critical blow to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's government late Monday, the coalition failed to pass a directive giving Israel legal jurisdiction over Israelis living in the West Bank that has been approved every five years since 1967.

Opposition MKs applauded following the announcement of the results that the vote fell with 52 votes for it and 58 against it. Failure of the bill led to immediate speculation that the government will soon fall and Israel will head to a new election.

Ghaida Rinawie Zoabi (Meretz) and Mazen Ghanaim (Ra’am — United Arab List) voted against the bill and other Ra'am MKs and former coalition head Idit Silman absented themselves from the vote. Without their support, it was impossible to pass the bill, which must be reapproved by the end of June.

Yamina MK Nir Orbach confronted Ghanaim and shouted at him that their partnership in the coalition had failed.

"Some you win, some you lose," Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who initiated the bill, told The Jerusalem Post following a meeting with Bennett. "Today, we’re on the other side."

60 Percent of Israeli Jews Favor Segregation From Arabs, Survey Finds
The headline is shocking, because Haaretz — regularly described as the New York Times of Israel — has always been an open creature of the Labour Socialist movement. But getting into the details provides a more nuanced picture.
[Haaretz] Some 60 percent of Israeli Jews believe it is best for Jews and Arabs to live apart, according to a survey conducted by the Israeli Democracy Institute in March of this year.

This is a significant rise compared with the rate that agreed with the same statement in April 2021, which then stood at 45 percent. Last year's survey was taken before the violent incidents that broke out in some of Israel's mixed cities
...in other words, before the resident Arab Israelis turned violently against their Jewish Israeli neighbours...
during the last round of fighting in Gaza, and before the United Arab List joined the government's ruling coalition.

Among Arab respondents there was almost no change in the rate of support for living apart, which has stood at 20 percent for several years. In other words, most Jews now support segregation, compared with a constant minority among Arabs.

"The report shows a complex picture," said Dr. Tamar Herman, who led the study. "Among Arabs there has been an intensification of their sense of discrimination as a collective, as opposed to a weakening of the perception of this discrimination among Jews. The former show a rise in the desire to participate in decision-making, and among Jews there is a declining willingness to share that privilege with them."

She added that over the past year "there has been a decline in willingness among Jews to live in proximity to Arabs or allow them to purchase land outside of Arab municipalities." However, recent events "have not harmed the high willingness of both groups to share workplaces."

A breakdown of the sample among Jews reveals significant internal differences: Close to 70 percent of those who defined themselves as right-wing supported segregation, as opposed to slightly under half in the political center, and only a third on the left.

In the sample of Arab respondents, differences were found between voters for the United Arab List and Joint List parties. Around one-third of the former support segregation, compared to one-fifth of the latter.
The Joint List is that multi-party thing organized by President Obama’s Democratic Party consultants back in 2015 to drive Bibi Netanyahu out of office to the benefit of the Israeli Left. Despite bringing bulging moneybags, they were not successful. The United Arab List is generally referred to as Ra’am, the political party of the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel, which formally calls itself the Southern Branch of the Islamic Movement — the Northern Branch being the militant arm.
In the study, respondents were asked for their reaction to the statement that an Israeli Arab who feels part of the Palestinian people can also be a loyal citizen to Israel. Sixty-three percent of Arabs and 28 percent of Jews agreed to that statement in March. Both groups registered a drop in the rate of agreement to the statement since April 2021, but the decline was far more pronounced among Jews.

Arabs under 35 agreed less with the statement than did those in older age groups, and the rate of their agreement has dropped since the previous measurement a year earlier.

There was also a decline in Israeli Arab agreement with the statement that most Arab citizens of Israel want to integrate into Israeli society – from 80 percent in 2021 to 73 percent last March. In contrast, changes among the Jewish public regarding this statement were smaller, with about half of respondents agreeing with it.

#1  In many countries including in the USA peoples are demanding their governments to boycott the racist country of Israel. This group of people are not the liberal socialists, these people are common conservatives awakening to the fact that Israel it’s been like a parasites in our society. Americans do not want to support any longer that bunch of freaks that call themselves chosen. Americans are resentful on how the chosen have filled and excluded the rest on each and every commanding niche in our society. They manipulated the information always in their favor the create laws so you cannot contest them.
THAT IS PURE RACISM
Hope that economic and political demise of the USA finally remove that artificial creation.
Israeli culture as to change or Israel as to disappear.
The Israeli disgusting collaboration with the Ukrainian Nazis was the culprit of the criminal act of the artificial county of Israel
Been there own, and did business in Tel Aviv, most racist and religious intolerant people on the planet.

Round-up: Lebanese fussing powerlessly about Israel’s offshore natural gas extraction
Berri calls for amending Decree 6433 if Hochstein doesn't act 'to stop Israeli violations'
[AnNahar] Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has urged U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein to visit Lebanon and to take the necessary measures to stop the Israeli violations, after a gas drilling ship crossed the so-called Line 29 and entered a sea area disputed by Lebanon.

Berri stressed, in a press interview, that Lebanon will not tolerate the Israeli violations.

"If Hochstein does not respond and if no results are reached, then Cabinet must convene to take a national unanimous decision to amend Decree 6433 and send it to the United Nations," Berri said.

The Decree 6433 is based on a 2009 delineation undertaken by the Lebanese army. An assessment of the 2009 demarcation by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) proposed two potential lines that would add 300 or 1,430 square kilometers to the old 2009 demarcation. The second line is known as Line 29.

Bayram says Hizbullah practicing 'positive silence' in offshore gas row
[AnNahar] Caretaker Labor Minister Mustafa Bayram on Monday announced that Hizbullah is practicing “positive silence” regarding the Lebanon-Israel row over offshore gas drilling.

“The resistance is practicing positive silence and the Lebanese stance must remain firm,” Bayram, who is close to Hizbullah, told al-Jadeed TV.

“President (Michel) Aoun knows very well how to act in these situations and he has the sufficient wisdom,” Bayram added, describing the stances of Aoun and caretaker PM Najib Miqati as “advanced.”

“The resistance does not want to impose the war and peace decision; it is the enemy that is rather imposing it and the resistance will act according to the state’s decision and orientations,” Bayram went on to say.

“We don’t want war and we don’t wish for it, but as Lebanese we have all agreed that we have maritime rights and resources and the drums of war would beat according to the Israeli enemy’s actions,” the minister added, noting that “Lebanon possesses a very strong card that says that the enemy cannot extract its oil as long as we haven’t done the same.”

As for Washington’s mediation, Bayram said his party “does not trust American mediations,” because “they have always been in Israel’s favor.”

The minister also noted that Hizbullah has learned that Aoun “has asked the Army Command to clarify where the Greek ship will be positioned in order to act accordingly.”

The remarks come after media reports said Sunday that the Greek-owned Energean Power FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit) had crossed the so-called offshore Line 29 that is disputed by Lebanon.

Aoun, Miqati want US mediation after Israel gas ship move
[AnNahar] President Michel Aoun and Caretaker PM Najib Miqati agreed on Monday to invite U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein to visit Beirut in order to resume the stalled negotiations over the maritime demarcation with Israel, the Presidency said.

The two leaders agreed that the demarcation must be completed "as soon as possible in order to avoid any escalation," after a gas drilling ship had entered a disputed sea area, sparking Lebanese condemnation.

Aoun and Miqati also decided to make diplomatic calls with the major world powers and the United Nations to explain Lebanon's adherence to its rights and maritime resources.

"Any gas drilling carried out by Israel in a disputed area is considered a provocative and hostile activity, threatening peace and obstructing the demarcation negotiations led by the U.S.," the statement said.

After the Presidency's statement, Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab contacted Hochstein to schedule a visit, media reports said.

#1  Kind of reminds me of when the US government took over ownership of offshore oil leases from Louisiana because coastal erosion had moved the shoreline inward (of course they didn’t transfer leases TO the State where deposition moved the shoreline out...)
