Demographers Warn Of Impending Population Collapse - Urbanization blamed
[ZERO] Amid the deluge of dire predictions that the human population will rise exponentially, deplete the earth’s resources, and overheat the planet, two recent demographic studies predict the opposite—that the number of people will peak within the next several decades and then begin a phase of steady, irreversible decline.
Irreversible. Like the rise of the tides, and the melting of the ice caps, and the Gulfstream jets of the Davos elites
In some places, including Japan, Russia, South Korea, and most countries in Europe, that population collapse has already begun. China is not far behind.

The United Nations has predicted that humanity will continue its rapid expansion into the next century, growing from just under 8 billion today to more than 11 billion by 2100. An oft-repeated interpretation of this data is that people are having too many babies, and many of the models for climate change and environmental degradation are based on projections like these. In August, the U.N. declared a "code red for humanity" over climate change and overpopulation, and analysts at investment bank Morgan Stanley stated that the "movement to not have children owing to fears over climate change is growing."

However, a demographic study funded by the Gates Foundation and published in the Lancet, a medical journal, paints a much different picture. This study, conducted by researchers at the University of Washington, predicts that the global human population will peak at 9.7 billion within several decades, and then start to decline. "Once global population decline begins," the authors write, "it will probably continue inexorably."

#8  Population is too high for the carrying capacity of the land in many places. Doesn’t mean it will decline- just that life will get rougher and people will die younger. When that happened in the past people had more children and earlier. How’s the population of Somalia holding out?

#11

There is no doubt Humanity is like a Virus, it grows and spreads itself.

Currently, the USA is the #1 importer of its food.
Followed by Communist China, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom as Countries Who Import the Most Food.

The Earth only has so much farmland, and we are seeing more and more of it used as human habitat.

Maybe, as some have said, Covid-19 is Mother Natures way of trying to heal itself of a growing human virus?

Or maybe it was part of some rumored Elite's worldwide human reduction plan?

Or maybe the VAX will corrupt the next human reproductive gene pool?

Or maybe another Government created pandemic, a Regional or limited World War might be seen by the rumored Elite as a means for population reduction.

However you look at it, the Earths resources and cropland are finite. It's the Human population that is not.

Experts predict in 30 years, more than half of the world’s population is expected to rely mainly on food imported from other countries.

On the lighter side: It seems we already have Soylent Green on the market. 🍴

Company known for inventing the Taser halts its plan for a police drone that could TASER school shooting suspects after nine of the company's ethics board members resign in protest
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Axon on June 2 said they were forging ahead with 'a remotely operated, non-lethal drone system' for use in schools, to stop mass shootings

  • The scheme had been suggested a year ago, and the board voted against it: CEO Rick Smith overruled them, in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas shooting

  • Backlash against Smith's decision was swift, with the ACLU tweeting that it 'was not the answer' and Smith having to defend the plan

  • On Monday, nine of the 12 members of its ethics board resigned in protest, even as Smith announced the plan had been put on hold

  • They said they could not work with a company that rode roughshod over the concerns of an ethics panel formed to hold the leadership to account

British journalist, Brazilian indigenous expert missing in the Amazon after threats
[France24] A British journalist and a Brazilian indigenous expert have gone missing in a remote region of the Amazon rainforest after receiving threats, authorities and indigenous-rights groups said Monday, raising fears for their safety.

Veteran foreign correspondent Dom Phillips, 57, went missing while researching a book in the Brazilian Amazon's Javari Valley with respected indigenous expert Bruno Pereira, said The Guardian newspaper, where Phillips has been a longtime contributor.

The pair had traveled by boat to Jaburu lake, in the northern state of Amazonas near Brazil's border with Peru, and were expected to return to the city of Atalaia do Norte by around 9:00 am Sunday, two rights groups said in a statement.

The men had "received threats in the field" last week, said the groups, the Union of Indigenous Organizations of the Javari Valley (UNIVAJA) and the Observatory for the Human Rights of Isolated and Recently Contacted Indigenous Peoples (OPI).

They did not give further details, but Pereira, an expert at Brazil's indigenous affairs agency FUNAI with deep knowledge of the region, has regularly received threats from loggers and miners trying to invade isolated indigenous groups' land.

FUNAI told AFP it was collaborating with local authorities on the search effort. It added that Pereira was on leave from the agency "to pursue personal interests."

Phillips and Pereira had traveled to the region around a FUNAI monitoring base, and reached Jaburu lake Friday evening, UNIVAJA and OPI said.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Guerrilla Attacks Signal Rising Resistance to Russian Occupation
The Kremlin-backed mayor of the Ukrainian town of Enerhodar was standing on his mother’s porch when a powerful blast struck, leaving him critically wounded. A week later, about 75 miles away, a car packed with explosives rocked the office of another Russian-appointed official in the occupied southern city of Melitopol.

In a rarity, both Ukrainian and Russian officials confirmed the blasts, which struck deep inside Russian-controlled territory. And both explosions appeared to be the work of what analysts say is a growing partisan resistance movement — one fueled by increasingly brutal Russian repression and worsening humanitarian conditions.

By their very nature, the clandestine activities of any insurgency are murky and often impossible to verify independently. It is as much in the interest of Ukrainians to play up talk of rebellion as it is for Russians to play it down.

But the explosion that injured the Enerhodar mayor, Andrei Shevchik, is one of more than a dozen high-profile attacks in recent weeks that analysts say indicate increased partisan activity aimed at Russian occupation forces in the Kherson and Zaporizka regions of southern Ukraine.

Stretching tens of thousands of square miles from eastern Ukraine to Russian-occupied Crimea and into Russia itself, those regions were among the first to fall under Russian control following the invasion of Ukraine in late February. Many of their towns and cities were spared the wholesale destruction unleashed by Russian forces elsewhere. In recent days, Ukrainian forces have launched a series of counterattacks in the regions.

In the past month, Ukrainian partisans claim, insurgents have attacked Russian trains and killed dozens of Russian soldiers, as well as supporting the Ukrainian military's counterattacks. Their claims are impossible to independently verify. The partisans also have established a virtual Center of National Resistance, which features instructions for things like setting up ambushes and what to do if arrested.

Alexander Motyl, a historian and Ukraine expert at Rutgers University, has scoured publicly available statements about possible insurgent activity. He said that the data suggests it is growing.

"It is, of course, possible that Ukrainian special forces may have been involved in some of these actions; it is also likely that the data are incomplete," he wrote for the online journal 1945. "Even so, the number of guerrilla actions is impressive and bespeaks a trend toward ever-greater partisan activity."

Russia has been inciting against Ukrainians in Crimea for years -study
[JPost] Bring it on, Trolls
Researchers analyzed 11 Russian-language online publications that wrote about Crimea, including RIA, KP, Realia, Russian Spring and others, from December 2020 to the end of May 2021.
badanov has been translating articles for us from RIA and KP, among others. But we expect bias and blatant propaganda.
Even before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia was preparing residents of Crimea for escalation by splitting Ukrainian society through propaganda in Russian media, Human rights activists and researchers said on June 6 during a press conference, where they presented a study about "Hate speech in online media covering events in Crimea."

Researchers analyzed 11 Russian-language online publications that wrote about Crimea, including RIA, KP, Realia, Russian Spring and others, from December 2020 to the end of May 2021.

"In the study, we recorded many calls for the extermination of Ukrainians in the Russian media. Given the atrocities of the Russian occupiers, which they have been committing on our land since February 24 and until today, these appeals had one goal - informational preparation for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide of the Ukrainian people, " said Crimean human rights group researcher Irina Sedova.

The search for materials was carried out with the help of keywords that express hatred for Ukrainians: "Bandera", "Little Russians", "pig-speaking", "Ukrofascists", "Khokhlovs", "Dill", "Khokhlostan" and others.

Researchers found 560 publications containing manifestations of hate speech. Said points of interest contained profanity, direct insults and dehumanization (for example, " these are not people, but animals ").

There were also calls for violence, the division of society on the principle of "us and them", disrespect and contempt for another group or culture.

On ten of the eleven sites selected for the study, the publications contained hate speech, particularly against Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, as well as strong anti-American rhetoric.

"These media outlets use manipulative and covert hate speech to influence the audience's beliefs. This is done to avoid legal liability, which is provided by the legislation of many European countries," said expert psycholinguist Dr. Julia Krylova-Grek.

"It has become possible to prove and substantiate the presence of psycholinguistic manipulations thanks to the psycholinguistic analysis of media text. In particular, manipulations are the violation of causation, the logic of coverage of events, the substitution of concepts in the materials," she added.
Russian media manipulation

Russian journalists often consciously use methods and techniques that cause an emotional or sensory effect, while blocking areas of rational thinking, Krylova-Grek explained. The media often cover the situation one-sidedly and deliberately create a negative image.

Publications often methodically deny the state sovereignty of Ukraine and Ukrainian national identity. Yulia Krylova-Grek notes that such methods are intended to engrave in the minds of the audience the idea that Ukrainians are an ethnographic group of Russians, Ukraine is an artificial state entity, and the Ukrainian language is a regional dialect.

There are also phenomena like Banderophobia and Ukrainophobia, which act as "scarecrows" for readers of Russian-language content.

The researchers concluded by saying that the full-scale Russian invasion and tragic events currently taking place in Ukraine testify to the effectiveness of Russia's media influence and methods.

#3  I think back to the time when I watched Diane Sawyer on ABC Nightly News deliver a report about Border Patrol officer Brian Terry's death at the hands of narco terrorists on the Mexican border. The report was so shallow and lacking in any basic facts that I could only conclude it was a cover up for the actions of Baraq Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder in the Fast and Furious scandal.

That's when it hit me upside the head that American main stream media cannot be trusted. Maybe I was late to the party. A lot of other thinking people already knew it.

That doesn't mean I trust Russian media any more than America's or, for that matter, Ukraine's.

Russian and Ukrainian trolls who post nasty and simplistic comments about Rantburg do not help their cause. Just like Diane Sawyer, they deliver trite and childish propaganda. They're just as bad as ABC, CBS, CNN or, even worse, a White House press briefing.

#4  The search for materials was carried out with the help of keywords that express hatred for Ukrainians: "Bandera", "Little Russians", "pig-speaking", "Ukrofascists", "Khokhlovs", "Dill", "Khokhlostan" and others.

Bandera has to do with the WWII era Ukrainian nationalist Stephan Bandera who sided with the Germans. Bandera loved him some pogroms.

Pig-speaking and Little Russians I never have read those "keywords" in RIA Novosti, Russkaya Vesna (Russian Spring), or Komsomol Prada (KP)

Dill is the plant Russian writers have used to refer to Ukrainians. Pronounced Ukro. The Ukrainians were so offended by the term, one of them came up with a shoulder patch with a depiction of the dill plant. Presumably it was worn with some pride.

They left out the Russian term for forelock which also is called crest. Ukrainians are referred to a firelocks because of the Cossack forelock.

Personally I would think forelock would be a term of endearment.

The upshot is I read those publications, and in regular news articles, not columns and not editorials, I never have read those terms.

In Severodonetsk, Russia has a 10-fold advantage in artillery - Budanov

[Vesti] In Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, in some areas, a tenfold advantage of the Russians in artillery is recorded.

This was announced by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov, who inspected the work of the GUR MO unit in Severodonetsk.

He noted that today Severodonetsk is the "hottest" direction of the Russian-Ukrainian war, where Ukrainian defenders in heavy battles destroy the Russian military.

"In certain areas, there is a tenfold advantage of the enemy in artillery. Despite this, we are gradually pushing the occupiers out of the city," he stressed.

It should be noted that earlier the head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could recapture Severodonetsk, but the city does not have great strategic importance.

Commander of the Svoboda Battalion Kuzyk on the situation in Severodonetsk: Fierce fighting continues, we are destroying them, and they are throwing away new reserves.

[Censor] Commander of the Svoboda Battalion, Captain of the National Guard of Ukraine Petro Kuzyk spoke about the fighting in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Radio Liberty .

"The enemy has a certain advantage in barrel artillery, the number of tanks, and possibly in the number of people, and actively uses this advantage.

According to him, the situation is extremely difficult in Severodonetsk, there are fierce street fights.

"There were attempts to counterattack somewhere successful, somewhere not very. They are also under constant pressure. Some units were forced to withdraw to the quarter, some units held their positions, including ours.

But it's all in very difficult conditions, very scary, but reminiscent." ". Strategically, we are waiting for reinforcements, especially to close the problem in the artillery. For their part, some incomprehensible assaults, as we call the" meat "of the infantry. We are constantly destroying them, they are throwing new and new reserves already. data, pulled up more reserves, " the commander of a battalion Svoboda added.

At the same time, according to the captain, the dynamics of the battle is very high, the situation changes several times a day.

"We are literally fighting for every house, for every street. Sometimes one day we can move a quarter, one day we can be thrown out a quarter. This is constantly going on and will continue. If our side is interested in keeping it, then, except to count on the stability of the infantry, we still need enough forces and means here - tanks, artillery, "he concluded.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: June 6th, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate Edited.
[Korrespondent] 23:15 In Slavyansk, no more than 24 thousand inhabitants remained - the rest were evacuated, said the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko.

23:03 Johnson remains as prime minister of Great Britain - he received a vote of confidence. He was supported by 211 deputies of the Conservative Party, 148 voted for his resignation.
Sadly, it appears at the moment that Britain has no better candidates. If only he felt the need to execute his promises to the voters.
22:51 Greece will send military equipment to Ukraine only after it receives a replacement from Germany, government spokesman Yannis Oikonomou said. He noted that Athens would supply Kyiv with about 100 infantry fighting vehicles from the stocks of the GDR, but only if the promised German infantry fighting vehicles actually arrive in Greece. According to the organization's secretariat, the focus will be on "conflict-related sexual violence and human trafficking in the context of the war in Ukraine." Pramila Patten, UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, will address this issue. The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, will also be present.

07:26 The invaders are trying to advance on Slavyansk, from artillery of various calibers they fired at civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Bolshaya Kamyshevakha, Vernopolye, Dubrovno, Novaya Dmitrovka, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports in the morning report .

On the territory of Belarus, along the border of Ukraine, the presence of individual units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, armed with Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft gun systems, S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and operational-tactical aviation aircraft, remains.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy fired at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from mortars, cannon and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Zolote, Orekhovoe, Gornoye, Vrubovka, Klinovo, Belogorovka, Pokrovskoye. Attack aircraft were used.

04:14 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that the successful counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Severodonetsk indicate a decrease in the combat strength of the Russians. Ukrainian counterattacks are likely to continue drawing the attention of Russian forces into Luhansk Oblast and therefore leave vulnerabilities in Russian defenses in Kharkiv Oblast and along the southern axis. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are likely trying to use Russia's concentration on Severodonetsk to launch counterattacks on other lines of advance, analysts say.

Ukrainian military abandoned equipment and fled from Svyatogorsk
Direct Translation via Google Translate Edited.
[RIA Novosti] Ukrainian troops abandoned their equipment and fled Svyatogorsk despite efforts by nationalist barrage units to stop them, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

According to him, for this purpose, detachments blew up a bridge across the Seversky Donets River.

"Under the onslaught of Russian units, the remnants of the battalions of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade and the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abandoned military equipment along with weapons and dispersed along the coast," the general said.

He noted that up to 80 Ukrainian soldiers crossed the river by swimming, they did not deliberately open fire on them.

"We regard the refusal of Ukrainian servicemen to defend the useless Kyiv regime led by nationalists as the only right thing to do, not cowardice," Konashenkov stressed.

Konashenkov also called on all the military and members of the territorial defense units of Ukraine to follow this example and stop "thoughtless resistance in order to save their lives." The Russian Armed Forces, in turn, guarantee all those who voluntarily laid down their arms to be treated with dignity and return to their families, the Defense Ministry spokesman added.

Konashenkov concluded that the Russian army had moved on to the final stage of the liberation of Svyatogorsk and the surrounding territory.

Svyatogorsk (until 2003 Slavyanogorsk) is located in the northern part of the Donetsk People's Republic, just over forty kilometers southeast of the city of Izyum , Kharkiv Oblast , which is under the control of the Russian military.

#1  A clear, detailed, neutral and objective expert summary of the Battle for Donbas is here, delivered by Colonel Markus Reisner, Head of Research and Development at Austria's Theresan Military Academy (that's the Austrian version of Saint-Cyr or West Point -- though considerably older, dating from 1751 and Empress Maria Theresa's reign; Rommel taught there in 1938-1939).

Reisner's excellent summary is otganized along four main levels of analysis: Time, Terrain, Information and Force. He discusses how each of these four works to the advantage or disadvantage of the combatants. He does not gloss over the Russians' failures from May 2-6 in the northern river crossings, praises the Ukrainians' "cleverness" in using small boats to transport a few troops at a time across the river and also does not mince words in saying the Russian forces were "annihilated" in their last attempt to cross the river in the northwest part of the Donbas before they transitioned their forces east and south.

Reisner also makes clear the enormous disadvantages faced by the Ukrainians and the failure of their forces to hold the high positions which their special forces occupied in the south. The Ukrainians are extraordinarily vulnerable outside of these few pockets. They are trying to fill in the large gaps with their lightly armed, poorly trained Territorial troops who have been overrun by the Russians' "flower" i.e. multi-pronged thrust north, west and south that began in late May.

He also provides an objective and fascinating overview of how the aging Soviet-era Russian tanks are actually "perfectly" suited to the conditions of this Battle for the Donbas.

Reisner also provides an expert overview of the severe limitations on the Ukrainians' ability to make effective use of the artillery they've been given recently, noting that the Czech and Polish artillery supplied are not the recent NATO hubs but much older Soviet-era materiel.

In sum this is the best and most objective military analysis that anyone has provided.

A pity that more people did not know of Colonel Reisner and gave access to his expert, neutral commentary back in February and March.

Meteorologists expect a better winter harvest in the Central Federal District than last year
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] In the Central Federal District (CFD), agrometeorologists predict a good winter crop this year, exceeding the harvest in 2021. Roman Vilfand , scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, spoke about this on June 7 .

"Agrometeorologists of Roshydromet predict a good harvest of winter crops in the Central Federal District. Gross harvest is expected to be higher than last year. The fact is that the weather conditions were very good, the wintering went well too," reports the words of Vilf and TASS.

The meteorologist stressed that the final forecast, which takes into account all factors, is provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The harvest, in addition to the weather, is affected by the conditions of fertilization, harvesting and other circumstances.

On May 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in 2022 the country could reach a record grain harvest, harvesting at least 130 million tons.

As REGNUM reported , the spring sowing campaign is coming to an end in the Ryazan region.

#4  Actually, less grain for the US. And a LOT less grain for Ukraine and Europe. Meanwhile Russian production and market share are soaring.

The US Department of Agriculture's latest report indicates a "worsening condition of the U.S. winter crop, deepening worries about supply in an already-tight market.

“In 2022/23, a draw down in global ending stocks is forecasted (down 5 percent from 2021/22) as consumption exceeds production. Major exporters’ ending stocks are projected 10 percent lower than 2021/22 and would be the lowest since 2012/13 at 54.5 million MT.”

Expected change in share of global wheat exports, 2021/2022 to 2022/2023:

Russia: increase of 20% (will remain market leader with 20% of global wheat export market)

Ukraine: decrease of 45% (will have only 5% of market)

Posted by: Oil Derek || 06/07/2022 21:01 Comments || Top||

#5  Russia and Ukraine together will still have about 25% of the global wheat export market, but the balance will go from 16-9 to 20-5 in favor of Russia over Ukraine.

Ukraine's economy is dying. If the war continues much longer Ukraine will be dead. All the valuable parts of the country are now controlled by the Russians -- the valuable farmland, the mineral and natural gas reserves, the industry and ports.

Chinese fighter jet cut in front of an Australian plane and dumped debris into its engine
[Yahoo]\ A Chinese fighter jet veered in front of an Australian military plane and fired off a cloud of debris that entered its engine, Australia's defense ministry said.

The incident happened on May 26 in international airspace over the South China Sea, the ministry said Sunday. The South China Sea is an area where China has tried to assert dominance to gain a strategic advantage in recent years.

Richard Marles, Australia's defense minister, told 9News that a Chinese J-16 fighter jet cut across an Australian P-8 maritime-surveillance aircraft and released "chaff," which are small pieces of metal debris used to confuse missiles.

"The J-16 then accelerated and cut across the nose of the P-8, settling in front of the P-8 at a very close distance," Marles said.

"At that moment it then released a bundle of chaff, which contains small pieces of aluminum, some of which were ingested into the engine of the P-8 aircraft," he added. "Quite obviously, this is very dangerous."

Peter Layton, a former Royal Australian Air Force officer, told CNN that the incident would have forced the P-8 to return to base, though the defense ministry did not give details as to the state of the aircraft.

Chinese aircraft regularly fly close to or try and interfere with foreign aircraft that fly over the South China Sea.

As a resident of Hong Kong said, "China is asshole!"

#1  ...The chaff I worked with looked very much like small, thin strips of magnetic recording tape (what used to be in a 'cassette' or '8-Track', for you younger 'Burgers ;) )with a reflective backing. What probably saved the P-8 from a really short, exciting flight is that a chaff cloud spreads out fast - the engine probably didn't ingest that much of it, and it likely melted once it was in. The engine probably stayed running but even if the A/C shut it down out of an abundance of caution, the P-8 flies quite nicely on one. The engine is probably done, though.

Europe
Crowds honor WWII veterans at Normandy D-Day celebrations
[AnNahar] When D-Day veterans set foot on the Normandy beaches and other World War II sites, they express a mix of joy and sadness. Joy at seeing the gratitude and friendliness of the French toward those who landed on June 6, 1944. Sadness as they think of their fallen comrades and of another battle now being waged in Europe: the war in Ukraine.

As a bright sun was rising over the wide band of sand of Omaha Beach on Monday, 78 years on, U.S. D-Day veteran Charles Shay expressed thoughts for his comrades who fell that day. "I have never forgotten them and I know that their spirits are here," he told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The 98-year-old Penobscot Native American from Indian Island, Maine, took part in a sage-burning ceremony near the beach in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer.

Great White North
Gun Control Misfire: Trudeau Pistol Ban Sees Stores Sell Out of Handguns
[Breitbart] Gun stores in Canada have seen handguns fly off the shelves, with many selling out altogether after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced gun control legislation freezing all pistol purchases.

In what appears to be a seismic political misfire, Canadian gun stores have been reporting a massive surge in handgun sales after the country’s leftist prime minister, Justin Trudeau, announced that he would be implementing gun control laws totally freezing the import and sale of this class of firearm.

Many shops in the country have now reportedly sold out of pistols entirely, despite extremely restrictive laws already in place in the country which can make the purchase of a handgun onerously difficult.

According to a report by the AFP, every gun store owner who spoke to the agency openly derided Trudeau’s declaration that he would ban the sale of handguns, while also saying that they had all seen a massive surge in pistol sales since he made the announcement last week.

The surge in pistol sales occurred in Canada despite the fact that this class of firearm is extremely difficult to buy in the country, requiring would-be owners to obtain multiple character references and signatures from their partners, on top of obtaining a licence and passing a stringent background check.

According to a Newsweek article on the matter, handgun owners are also compelled by law to register their newly acquired firearms with the local police before even being allowed to take the weapon home.

However, none of these draconian restrictions seem to be enough for Justin Trudeau, who announced that he had brought new legislation to Parliament which would totally freeze the sale and import of pistols in all Canada.

“What this means is that it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada,” the leftist Prime Minister said, while seemingly using mass shootings in the United States to justify the ban.

Cancer Breakthrough -The New England Journal of Medicine
[CitizenFreePress] Study Leaves Every Patient Cancer-Free

Results from a small cancer trial that left every patient in remission is being praised as “unprecedented” and “remarkable.” A paper published on Sunday at The New England Journal of Medicine outlined a study of 18 rectal cancer patients who were given dostarlimab every three weeks for six months and ended up cancer-free, including the first patient who is now two years out from the trial.

“I believe this is the first time this has happened in the history of cancer,” said Dr. Luis A. Diaz Jr. said, an author of the paper, The New York Times reported. Dr. Andrea Cercek, an oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and another author of the paper, described “a lot of happy tears” at the end of the trial.

While noting the study needs replication, Dr. Kimmie Ng, a colorectal cancer expert at Harvard Medical School, called the trial results “remarkable” and “unprecedented.”

“We initiated a prospective phase 2 study in which single-agent dostarlimab, an anti–PD-1 monoclonal antibody, was administered every 3 weeks for 6 months in patients with mismatch repair–deficient stage II or III rectal adenocarcinoma. This treatment was to be followed by standard chemoradiotherapy and surgery.”

Those who took the drug, which “unmasks cancer cells, allowing the immune system to identify and destroy them,” did not have to move on to further cancer treatments.

“All the patients had a clinical complete response, with no evidence of tumor on magnetic resonance imaging,” the paper explained. “At the time of this report, no patients had received chemoradiotherapy or undergone surgery, and no cases of progression or recurrence had been reported during follow-up (range, 6 to 25 months). No adverse events of grade 3 or higher have been reported.”

#5  The dostarlimab trial was hopeful.

Surgery to remove the mass(s) and leave the patients on a bag, then radiation for the margins is standard.

Not just sick and tired. Painfully sick and tired.
