Joe Biden's DHS Confirms Illegal Aliens Freed into U.S. Will Get Photo ID Cards in 2024
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that the agency is developing a program that will provide border crossers and illegal aliens released into the United States with photo ID cards.

For more than a year, Breitbart News has chronicled how DHS is planning to roll out a pilot program that will give border crossers and illegal aliens photo ID cards, similar to a driver’s license, upon their release into the United States interior from the southern border.

Now, DHS officials are seemingly confirming their plan to issue photo IDs to such border crossers and illegal aliens.

Buried in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) annual report, officials confirmed that they are planning to begin issuing the photo ID cards to border crossers and illegal aliens sometime this fiscal year.

“[The Office of Immigration Program Evaluation] is leading the ICE Secure Docket Card (SDC) project, which offers a uniform, durable card provided to noncitizens upon release, and facilitates reliable access to commonly lost or damaged immigration-related paperwork,” the ICE report details:

The SDC will be integrated with the Unified Immigration Portal that ICE and [Customs and Border Protection] officers and agents use in the field and the ICE Portal to allow noncitizens access to commonly used documents and services. ICE expects the project to ease ICE personnel workload when encountering noncitizens with the card and decrease the burden on noncitizens when interacting with ICE, including the facilitation of remote reporting for certain low-risk populations. ICE anticipates a limited release in two [Enforcement and Removal Operations] field offices in FY 2024. [Emphasis added]

In September, John Fabbricatore, a former ICE official and advisory board member at the National Immigration Center for Enforcement (NICE), told Breitbart News that the ultimate goal of the Biden administration is to limit illegal aliens’ face-to-face contact with DHS as much as possible.

“It’s a normalization of illegal immigration,” Fabbricatore said.

Biden’s Catch and Release network at the United States-Mexico border is releasing millions of border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities every year.

DHS officials have privately told Congress that Biden is releasing about 5,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior every day. That figure suggests that Biden is releasing about 150,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities every month and about two million annually.

Malta-flagged ship remains hijacked off Somalia
[Garowe] A Maltese-flagged commercial ship hijacked two weeks ago in the Arabian Sea is anchored off Somalia.

Transport Malta said in a statement it was monitoring the situation aboard the Malta-flagged ship RUEN together with the Armed Forces of Malta and the European Naval Force Somalia Operation Atalanta.

The ship, hijacked on December 14, was being managed by a Bulgarian company and had a crew of 18 seafarers of Bulgarian, Angolan, and Myanmar nationalities aboard.

"The RUEN crossed the Arabian Sea initially headed towards the northeastern coast of Somalia and then navigating southwards towards Eyl.

"The military assets deployed from EU Operation Atalanta and the Information Fusion Centre - Indian Ocean Region continued to follow and monitor closely the RUEN vessel movements on her southbound heading," TM said, adding the ship was currently anchored at 2.5 nautical miles of the coast at Baqbaq Somalia.

Historical Back Story on Israeli - UAE - Houthi Mashup re Socotra Island Occupation
From March 10, 2022
[TheCradle] Israeli military plan to occupy Yemen's Socotra Island in UAE-built facilities. The island is situated near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, considered strategic for the passage of Israeli nuclear-armed submarines

A UAE-backed construction project is being developed on Yemen's Socotra Island for the purposes of hosting Israeli soldiers, officers, and other military experts and personnel, according to a report by Yemen News Portal on 8 March.

The report, citing anonymous sources, states that the joint Emirati-Israeli base on the strategic island will have housing units built for Israeli officers under the auspices of the Khalifa bin Zayed Institute.

This is allegedly part of a plan to turn the Yemeni island into a center for regional espionage as well as increasing military control over maritime routes.

In September 2021, Yemen News Agency reported that the UAE and Israel were setting up a military outpost on Socotra Island. The purpose of this joint outpost would be to gather intelligence for the Israeli military.

Their joint cooperation includes allowing the Israeli air force an intelligence center in Socotra Airport.

Socotra Island recently made headlines due to the controversy of Israeli tourists visiting the Yemeni island under a UAE-issued visa.

Socotra is a strategic island located near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The strait is a flashpoint for potential confrontation between Israel and Iran.

In December 2020, the Washington Institute published an analysis titled 'Submarine Movements on Iran's Doorstep,' examining how Israeli submarines, which have the capability of being armed with nuclear warheads, are able to pass through the Suez Canal and then, from positions in the Persian Gulf near Yemen and Oman, can strike Iran with conventional or nuclear warheads.

#2  Oddly enough, a search of the Rantburg archives for the period 10/2/2019-12/30/2022 using the term Socotra yields only one article about those invading Zionists — from Hodhod Yemen News on 9/2/2022, well after the events supposedly in question. There were two articles in 2020 about the UAE building a military base on the island, but it was then supposed that US Marines would be the beneficiary.

At least the Cradle reporter pointed out that the second hand report was based on anonymous sources, the plan being merely alleged.

Biden Sanctions Alleged Houthi Financiers ‐ but Keeps Houthis Off Terrorist List
[Breitbart] The Treasury Department announced a series of new sanctions on Thursday against companies accused of helping finance Yemen’s Houthi terrorist group, an attempt to limit the windfall of funding made available to the Houthis after President Joe Biden chose to delist them as a terror organization in 2021.

Following a week of unsuccessful attempts to subdue the Houthi threat, the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced on Thursday a series of measures meant to keep funding out of Houthi coffers. OFAC sanctioned three currency exchange houses and Sa’id al-Jamal, the alleged leader of a Houthi financing network, to address their “facilitating the flow of Iranian financial assistance to Houthi forces and their destabilizing activities.”

“The Sa’id al-Jamal network relies on a web of exchange houses based throughout the Middle East to facilitate the movement of Iranian funds to Houthi-aligned financial firms in Yemen,” OFAC explained in a press release announcing the sanctions. “These funds are ultimately transferred to the Houthis or affiliated businesses located throughout the region.”

“Türkiye-based Al Aman Kargo Ithalat Ihracat Ve Nakliyat Limited Sirketi (Al Aman),” one of the sanctioned entities, “serves as a waypoint for money sent by the Houthis’ Iranian financiers to the group’s businesses in Yemen,” OFAC alleged. Another sanctions target, Nabco Money Exchange and Remittance Co. (Nabco), “serves as a financial intermediary to transfer funds to and from Yemen and has received millions of dollars in this fashion from the IRGC-QF on behalf of Sa’id al-Jamal’s network.”

The sanctions will make it illegal for Americans to do business with those targeted and will freeze any assets they possess in America, if any. They will not directly affect the Houthi terrorist organization, however, as it remains absent from the State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The Treasury has no power to alter the State Department list.

Biden’s State Department removed the Houthis from the Foreign Terrorist Organization list in early 2021 as one of Biden’s first acts in office. State Department officials nakedly admitted that the Houthis had not, in any way, altered their behavior or abandoned terrorism but claimed that the listing prevented international humanitarian aid from entering Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. By March, the State Department admitted that the Houthis stole humanitarian aid now flowing to Yemen, rather than distributing it to civilians.

Sirazhudinova on the favorable attitude towards 'honor killings' in Chechnya
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] In Dagestan and Ingushetia, they are trying to hide data on “honor killings” by removing information about such cases from court websites. In Chechnya, citing a woman’s immoral behavior as a motive for murder helps to obtain a more lenient punishment, human rights activist Saida Sirazhudinova said, commenting on the results of a study on domestic violence in the North Caucasus.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the president of the Center for the Study of Global Issues of Contemporary and Regional Problems "Caucasus. World. Development"  Saida Sirazhudinova published today her report, "Domestic violence in the North Caucasus: a report on the results of monitoring the situation in the region and analyzing judicial practice." It presents the results of a study (monitoring the situation in the region and analyzing judicial practice) conducted in 2022-2023.

According to the report, in Chechnya, “honor killings” are the dominant motive for the murder of women; out of 31 convictions for the murder of women, 22 murders were committed on the basis of “honor killing”.

In Ingushetia, as in Chechnya, the threat to women more often comes from the family itself , and women are protected from external threats emanating from civilians. And in Dagestan, much more often than in Dagestan and Ingushetia, murders of women by strangers occur; there are many cases of murders during quarrels and during the theft of property.

In the Caucasus, the victims of so-called “honor killings” are those whose behavior their relatives consider a disgrace to the family. These murders are committed by relatives themselves, most often a father or brother, says the Caucasian Knot report “Honor Killings in the North Caucasus.”

The most complete data on “honor killings” is available only for Chechnya, Saida Sirazhudinova told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent, commenting on the conclusions presented in the report.

“On the websites of the republic’s courts, only two cases were deleted, most of them remain. But in Ingushetia and Dagestan, the websites of the courts have been cleaned up. Probably, in Chechnya they ignore the comments of human rights activists. And in Dagestan and Ingushetia they decided not to post new sentences in such cases and erased a significant part of the previous ones sentences," she believes.

Therefore, it is impossible to collect reliable statistics on “honor killings” in Dagestan and Ingushetia, the human rights activist noted. “If you make it based on the available material from the courts, it will be incorrect due to an attempt to hide some of the information. In order to understand the situation with violent crimes against women, we analyzed the situation with men, violence between men against men,” Sirazhudinova explained.

She pointed out that it is in Chechnya that they most often refer to the immoral behavior of the victim. “In Dagestan, it was difficult to analyze the reasons, because in the verdicts in cases of murder of a wife or daughter, in most cases the motive is not stated. Therefore, there can only be some guesswork. In Chechnya, reasons such as immorality are voiced, because this becomes a basis for leniency", noted Sirazhudinova.

But, according to her, in Chechnya, in principle, there is almost no threat of violence from strangers. “Apparently because there is blood feud, especially for a woman,” Sirazhudinova said.

The tradition of blood feud, which developed during the clan system to protect the honor and property of the clan, in the North Caucasus still operates as a relevant social mechanism. According to this custom, the relatives of the murdered person must take revenge on the killer or his relatives, as noted in the “Caucasian Knot” certificate “Blood feud - how people kill in the Caucasus now.”

In her opinion, the decrease in the number of kidnappings mentioned in the report is only partly due to less recording. “Fixing cases of bride kidnapping is difficult in itself. The police often play the role of a mediator, persuading the parties to come to a certain agreement without bringing the case to court. This is present in all republics. And in Chechnya, the harshness of the government regime also affects it,” Sirazhudinova emphasized.

The ancient custom of bride kidnapping remains quite widespread in the Caucasus, especially in Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia, says the Caucasian Knot report “ Bride kidnapping – a crime or a tradition? ”

Human rights activists from the Ad Rem team indicated earlier in their report that within the framework of the problems of family violence in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Chechnya, the problem of “honor killings” remains relevant. The problem of domestic violence in these regions affects women of different ages, but mostly young girls under 30 try to escape from it. At the same time, they face threats of losing contact with children, the report says. The problem of evacuating victims of domestic violence is most acute among the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Chechnya, since the authorities and security forces there take the side of family aggressors, human rights activists interviewed by the Caucasian Knot commented on the report.

Let us remember that in June, the BBC released a documentary film “When I Ran Away” about girls from the North Caucasus who were able to escape from the control of their families. For victims of domestic violence, escape is often  the only way  to save life, human rights activists emphasized.

In Russia,  it is necessary to pass a special law that would prohibit relatives from approaching victims of violence or returning them to their families with the help of security forces, human rights activists previously interviewed by the Caucasian Knot noted. All known measures to combat domestic violence may be useless, especially in the Caucasus regions due to the fact that legal mechanisms do not work, the abduction of victims of violence by their relatives does not lead to criminal liability for the abductors, and the authorities prefer not to notice the problem, they noted.

More than a billion rubles have been allocated for the reconstruction of Makhachkala airport
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The Russian government has allocated more than a billion rubles for the reconstruction of Makhachkala airport, where on October 29 riots occurred due to the reported arrival of a plane carrying passengers from Israel.
Shouldn’t the rioters pay at least some portion of the cost to repair the damage they caused? Or possibly be sent to a chain gang until they’ve worked off the debt by the sweat of their brow?
As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, on December 27, the head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov called for "putting aside" the topic of unrest at the Makhachkala airport. He said that anti-Semitic actions in Dagestan were a failed provocation.

The Russian government has allocated 1 billion 6 million 374 thousand 200 rubles from the reserve fund for the reconstruction of Makhachkala airport, as stated in the decree of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The money has been allocated as part of the state program “Development of the Transport System” in the form of budget investments; by the end of this year, the level of construction readiness of the facility should be at least 10 percent, TASS reported last night.

Let us remind you that riots occurred at Makhachkala airport on October 29 due to reports of the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. More than 20 people were injured, including nine police officers.

As of November 25, the district courts of Dagestan received cases of 515 people, on which  protocols were drawn up on offenses during the riots in Makhachkala; by December 1, 242 decisions on these cases were known. As of December 27, the Supreme Court of Dagestan received 143 complaints of arrest in a criminal case regarding mass riots in Makhachkala.

For most of those accused in criminal cases of participation in mass riots at the Makhachkala airport, the arrest period has been extended until the end of March, while almost no investigative actions are being carried out, and a number of those arrested are prohibited from visiting, lawyers said. What happened at Uytash airport and how the investigation is proceeding is described in the Caucasian Knot report “ The Case of the Pogrom at Makhachkala Airport.”

France Mobilises 100,000 Police and Soldiers in Paris Amid ‘Very High Terror Threat' on New Year's Eve
[Breitbart] France will mobilise nearly 100,000 police officers, gendarmes and soldiers to Paris on New Year’s Eve amid a “very high terrorist threat”, Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announced.

Amid heightened security fears across Europe in the wake of the October 7th Hamas terror attacks on Israel and the ensuing war in Gaza against Islamist forces, Paris will see over 90,000 police officers and gendarmes, as well as some 5,000 soldiers patrolling its streets on New Year’s Eve.

The police will also be deploying helicopters and drones to monitor the crowds, and police have ramped up fireworks seizures by 45 per cent over last year.

Announcing the measure on Friday, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said according to Le Figaro that it was necessary to tighten security in the French capital in light of a “very high terrorist threat.”

In addition, the sale and consumption of alcohol will be banned in certain areas of the city during the holiday and New Year’s Eve festivities will shut down at 12:30 am, police prefect Laurent Nuñez said. The police boss went on to say that people will be searched by officers before entering restricted areas and that within the perimeter of the celebrations, shops will be prohibited from selling knives and other objects that could be used as weapons.

Paris, which will be launching preparations for the upcoming Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, is expected to see larger crowds attend than is typical, with over 1.5 million revellers set to descend upon the city to mark the new year. Between 700,000 and one million people are expected to gather along the Champs-Élysées avenue in central Paris on Sunday evening.

Protests have also been banned in Paris on New Year’s Eve, including a planned pro-Palestinian march after the leader of the centrist Les Républicains Éric Ciotti urged police to “ban this pro-Hamas rally… which represents a disturbance of public order!”.

France is not alone in facing elevated terror risks during the holidays, with police foiling a suspected Islamist plot to attack the Cologne Cathedral in Germany as well as St Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, Austria on Christmas or New Year’s Eve.

Over 7,000 Women in Germany Have Been Raped or Sexually Assaulted by Asylum Seeking Migrants Since 2015: Report
The fun jihad of rape.
[Breitbart] Since opening the gates to unfettered mass migration in 2015, at least 7,000 women have been raped or sexually assaulted in Germany by alleged asylum-seeking illegal migrants, an analysis of government figures has found.

A report from the Swiss-German paper of record, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, claimed that statistics from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) show that more than one thousand women — mostly Germans — have been sexually assaulted by migrants seeking refuge every year since 2017.

Extrapolating from this figure, the paper calculated that therefore at least 7,000 women have been raped or sexually assaulted by asylum seekers since former German Chancellor Angela Merkel ushered in the European Migrant Crisis in 2015 by unilaterally opening the gates of Europe to massive waves of migrants from the Middle East and Africa.

Last year, NZZ reported, asylum-seeking migrants were vastly overrepresented in reported cases of rape and sexual assault. Out of the estimated 10,000 suspects, 6,366 were German while 3,679 were foreigners. Of those, 1,115 were asylum-seeking migrants, meaning that while they represented just 2.5 per cent of the population, they were responsible for over 11 per cent of the sex assaults and rapes.

This confirms longstanding trends, with migration researcher Ruud Koopmans finding that asylum seekers were five times more likely to be involved in cases of rape and that they were 3.3 times more likely to perpetrate sex crimes as a whole, including sexual harassment and sexual abuse.

While the fact that around 70 per cent of all asylum-seeking migrants in Germany are young males likely plays a role in their overrepresentation in sex assault figures, however, Koopmans noted that certain regions are overrepresented within this group, including Syrians, Afghanis, and Pakistanis, all of whom come from societies in which women are not afforded the same rights as in Western nations.

The deputy chairman of the German Federal Police Union, Manuel Ostermann, said that the migrants committing sexual assault and rape — mostly against German women — are often already known to the police and sometimes have already been convicted of a crime but remain in the country due to lax deportation standards.

“Anyone who commits crimes against sexual self-determination must not have the right to remain in Germany,” he told NZZ.

“We are experiencing a collective loss of freedom in Germany, especially for women,” Osterman continued, noting that it is “not uncommon for women to avoid public places or festivities because the objective and subjective risk of becoming victims of a violent act is constantly increasing.”

Responding to the report, the co-leader of the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany party, Alice Weidel said that it was “the frightening result of the irresponsible policy of open borders since 2015.

The co-leader of the AfD, which has surged to second place in most polls on the back of growing anger about migration policy, added that the focus of the government should not be on “tolerance towards foreign criminals, but on protecting our own citizens.”

The leftist Minister of the Interior, Social Democrat Nancy Fraser, who is charged with protecting the nation’s borders, refused to be drawn on the issue of mass migration, merely stating: “These acts are abhorrent. This applies regardless of the nationality of the suspects.”

The issue of sexual violence from migrants has been longstanding in Germany. A string of sex attacks by mostly North African and Middle Eastern migrant men on New Year’s Eve in 2015, which was brought to international attention by reporting from Breitbart London, saw over a thousand women in Cologne sexually assaulted or raped. The vast majority of the perpetrators never faced justice, with merely six men being convicted of sex crimes in connection to the string of attacks.

Government Corruption
What 'Great Replacement Theory'? Musk Exposes ‘Immense & Growing Size’ Of Illegal Immigration Invasion
[ZERO] Elon Musk red-pilled users on X, allowing them to visualize "the immense and growing size of illegal immigration" pushed by radical progressives in the White House that have flooded the nation with millions of migrants.

Musk commented on a post by X user "~~datahazard~~," who said: "Since August, there are officially more arriving each month than there are children being born to American mothers. And these are just the official encounters -- we don't know how many avoided detection."

Illegal immigrants outpacing US births reminds us of a comment from Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who stated at a recent debate that the "Great Replacement Theory is not some grand, right-wing conspiracy theory," but rather a "basic statement of the Democratic Party's platform."

'Not a Crime' To Kill an Israeli Soldier, UN Official Says
The sad thing is that we aren’t at all surprised.
[WFB] A United Nations official said in an interview last week that Palestinians who kill Israeli soldiers are not guilty of crimes because such killings are in line with their "right to resist," in the latest controversial comments by the anti-Israel official.

"If the Palestinians target civilian objects, they commit war crimes," said Francesca Albanese, U.N. special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories, in an interview on the podcast Makdisi Street. "If they target military objects, they do not commit war crimes—they are in line with acts of resistance."

Albanese went on to criticize "Western media" outlets that have condemned "every Palestinian action," including attacks on soldiers.

"The killing of soldiers—it's, I mean, frankly, it's a tragedy, but it's not a crime," Albanese said. "Instead, very often, when Palestinians manage to attack soldiers, they are portrayed as terrorists. And this is a misunderstanding that needs to be addressed."

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers have been killed in fighting with Hamas since Oct. 7, when the terrorist group killed roughly 1,200 Israelis in its surprise attack on the Jewish state. Prior to Oct. 7, Israeli soldiers were frequently targeted in Palestinian terrorist attacks, including stabbings, shootings, and bombings.

Albanese criticized Hamas's Oct. 7 attack because the terrorist fighters targeted Israeli civilians and took hostages. She said, however, that "an illegal act of the resistance doesn't delegitimize the resistance itself."

The special rapporteur has made several comments that have sparked controversy and calls for her removal since Hamas's attack on Israel. Last month, Albanese said Hamas is "entitled to embrace resistance" and argued that, under international law, Israel has no right to self-defense against the terrorist group.

She denounced calls this month for Hamas to release its hostages, calling it an "unacceptable" act of "justifying and deflecting the attention from the atrocities committed by the Israeli army in Gaza."

#1  Well it is definitely not a crime to kill UN officials.

Biden Panders to His Far-Left Base, Hangs Up On Netanyahu
[PJ] As 2024 fast approaches, Old Joe Biden is facing some serious obstacles to keep on pretending to be president until he is older than nearly three-quarters of our presidents were when they died. One of the most serious of these is that his far-left base, having been thoroughly miseducated to hate America and all that it stands for, also hates one of its staunchest allies, Israel, and is outraged that the Biden regime appears to be standing by the Jewish state. But Rashida Tlaib and her pals need not be concerned: in a bid to keep these Marxists in line and pulling the Biden lever, Old Joe just made a big push to keep their support.

The Daily Caller reported Saturday that the addled and aging corruptocrat "reportedly hung up on Prime Minister Netanyahu after a heated phone call about the Palestinian tax revenue dispute." News of this latest embarrassment comes from "two U.S. and Israeli officials and a source with knowledge of the issue." No one seems to be saying that Old Joe, in the fog of his galloping dementia, mistook Netanyahu for an annoyingly persistent telemarketer, so apparently the hang-up was entirely intentional.

A more accurate headline.
Biden & many Democrats willing to support HAMAS for Re-election and/or other rewards.

Either Way:
My simple position regarding the Israeli people, and the IDF vs. HAMAS and other genocidal terrorist groups.

When you (Israel) go after a sneaky Dragon for killing your villagers. Slay it, behead it, and put the head on a pole for all other Dragons to see as a clear warning.

PLUS
Those that fed and hid the dragon, should also have their comfortable lives disrupted for doing so. As a clear warning and reminder to others.

DO NOT FEED THE DRAGONS

‘This was not about freeing Palestine’: Former Miss Iraq tours decimated southern towns
Several photos of this very photogenic, brave young lady at the link, including in the camouflage she wore when translating for the American Army.
[IsraelTimes] Running for US Congress, Sarah Idan, whose Iraqi citizenship was revoked in 2019 after she backed Israel at the UN, says she plans to be an ‘anti-squad’ Democrat.

Sarah Idan, a former Miss Iraq and now a candidate in the 2024 US Congressional elections, toured decimated Israeli communities along the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. 150,000 Palestinians are forced south as Israel steps up its assault in Gaza amid UN demands for more humanitarian deliveries to the besieged territory
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] 150,000 Palestinians have been forced south as Israel steps up its assault in Gaza amid UN demands for more humanitarian deliveries to the besieged territory.
The consequences of starting a war. Still, given that three quarters of Gaza youth wanted to move away before the war, enjoy the thought of getting that wish in the near future.
Israel's air and ground offensive against Hamas has displaced as much as 85 per cent of the Gaza Strip's 2.3 million residents.

Those seeking shelter from the bombardment have fled to Israeli-designated safe areas, which have also been bombed by the military.

Nearly the entire population is now fully dependent on outside humanitarian aid, Philippe Lazzarini, head of the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said.
And how does this differ from the situation on October 6th?
Drone footage taken on Friday showed a vast camp of thousands of tents and makeshift shacks set up on what had been empty land on Rafah's western outskirts next to U.N. warehouses.
Rafah is the site of the Gaza’s border crossing into Egypt, so y’all are within walking distance of freedom.
Israel's widening Gaza campaign, which has already flattened much of the north, is now focused on the urban refugee camps of Bureij, Nuseirat and Maghazi in central Gaza, where Israeli warplanes and artillery have leveled buildings.

Witnesses say that Israeli tanks have now reached the eastern edge of the Bureij camp, the BBC reports.

People arrived in Rafah in trucks, in carts and on foot. Those who did not find space in the already overwhelmed shelters put up tents on roadsides slick with mud from winter rains.

With the new arrivals, the town and its surrounding area are now packed with some 850,000 people - more than triple the normal population, according to U.N. figures.

Maybe I'm old school, but a refugee camp has tents, porta-johns and lines for food, not multi-story cinder block buildings with plumbing and electricity.

According to UNHRC data thee are 593,000 'refugees' living in camps, but their own data would consider that an undercount.

McDonald's Malaysia sues BDS movement
[IsraelNationalNews] McDonald's Malaysia has sued the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement for "false and defamatory statements" that it says hurt its business and is seeking damages amounting to $1.31 million, Reuters reported Saturday.

Gerbang Alaf Restaurants, which is the licensee of McDonald's in Malaysia, said it is suing the BDS Malaysia movement for a series of social media postings allegedly linking the fast-food franchise, among other companies, to Israel's "genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza".

According to a writ of summons dated December 19 and seen by Reuters, Gerbang Alaf Restaurants alleged that BDS Malaysia incited the public to boycott McDonald's Malaysia, which led to a loss of profit and job cuts, among other damages, due to closures and shortened operating hours of its outlets.
