Pakistani goes on rage revenge spree after being robbed by Thai prostitute
A Pakistani who had been deceived and robbed by a Pattaya bar-girl went on a robbing spree in retaliation. His victims were also bar girls who, despite having no apparent connection with the original perpetrator, were robbed of gold and cash at knifepoint.
Evidently, Pakistanis are something relatively new on the expat scene in Thailand. They are renowned for being even greater tightwads than Caucasians. No wonder he got so angry after falling for the oldest scam in the book - falling asleep with a whore in your room.
Apparently, according to several informers, the suspect had taken out a number of bar girls and then robbed them of their valuables at knifepoint. A subsequent investigative team later found him at the Chicken Rice Shop in Moo 9, Soi Buakhao. He was found with Bt9,000 in cash, 2 gold necklaces, 2 bracelets, some credit cards, and 5 mobile phones secreted about his person.
El cheapo local food joint. No expensive farang food for him!
One of the witnesses recounted how Mr. Fazal had taken out Miss Soraya Suttaphrom [24], a bar girl from Mickey Bar in Walking Street, on 22 October, at 2am. He had apparently picked her up in his bronze Honda Vioz and subsequently taken her to bushland near Soi Pupen Restaurant, South Jomtien, where he had robbed her of a 25 Satang gold necklace and a 50 Satang gold bracelet at knifepoint. He then abandoned her in the bush, where she remained until rendered assistance by a passing Good Samaritan, who heard her cries for help.
That's all? She's lucky she didn't get acid thrown in her face, such as a slut like her deserves under Islamic law.
Police spokesman Colonel Athitsawit Kamonrat told press that two of the victims had come forward to accuse the suspect. They were standing in the classic accusatory stance
Classic accusatory stance? Oh dear.
and angrily cursing and slapping the offender's face due to his brutality.
Oh, man. Major loss of face for him there. Hopefully his relatives will come from Pakistan with buckets of acid to restore the situation to sanity.
One of them maintained that she had had to plead for her life after her robbery experience, after which she was also abandoned in the bush.

The suspect reportedly confessed that he had committed a number of similar offences, due to having been deceived by a Pattaya bar girl who had asset stripped him of all his valuable possessions, before fleeing. His subsequent offences, he said, were in retaliation.
Nothing says "payback" like taking your rage out on an entire class of people.
Mr. Fazal also confessed that he had stripped several victims naked to prevent them from escaping. He will be detained until his trial, charged with several offences of armed robbery.
Enjoy the zero-star opulence of Thai jails, asshole.

#1  He will be detained until his trial,..

Due process is a quaint Anglo-American concept that is indeed 'foreign' to other countries and to people who happen to get caught up in their legal systems. It can be years before he finds himself finally getting what is ritualistically a trial. However, it also being a 'foreign' legal system, applications of bribes inducement could speed up the process. Or delayed, as in the case of accused Russian gun runners with outstanding wants and warrants from other countries.

#2  A man who had money would not be caught dead eating at "Chicken Rice Shop" in Pattaya. He'd also have more than three hundred bucks on his person. This criminal, having burned the locals, can look forward to a long stay in the legendary hospitality of Thai prisons. Perhaps his relatives will arrive to bribe him out of jail, perhaps not. Thais are quite racist towards Indians and Pakistanis in general.

#3  Makes you wonder if the first prostitute made him extra unhappy when, in a moment of deep intimacy, 'she' turned out not to be. That is rather common in Thailand.

Zimbob Lion Kills Man Taking Shower
A Zimbabwean has been killed by a pride of lions while he was showering in a camp in the country's north.

The man was attacked while using an outside shower at a fishing camp near Mana Pools National Park, Johnny Rodrigues, chairman of the Zimbabwean Conservation Task Force told German news agency DPA.
The area, located on the Zambesi River, is popular with hunters, most of whom stay in basic camps that offer little protection against attack by wild animals.

Tanzania's ruling party loses over 50 seats as early results trickle out
But I think we all saw this coming ...
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] The ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi has confirmed to have lost a total of 51 constituencies across the country as final results expected on Friday.

This means that opposition, which in the last parliament had few members, is gaining ground. In the last parliament, which had 232 elected MP, CCM had 206 seats with opposition having combined paltry 20 seats.

The CCM Presidential Campaign Manager, Mr Abdulahman Kinana said yesterday that so far the party has already lost at least 29 constituencies in Tanzania Mainland and 22 in Zanzibar.

But, Mr Kinana said the party was predicting to win 78.4 per cent of presidential votes in this year's General Elections as well as 87 parliamentary seats in the Mainland and 56 per cent in Zanzibar.

Mr Kinana also predicted a 78.4 per cent presidential win for CCM, down from 80.2 per cent that it candidate, Jakaya Kikwete, obtained in 2005. During campaigns, CCM maintained that it was going to beat the 2005 victory record.

The campaign manager said CCM would suffer the blow due to rifts caused by the preferential polls conducted in July and August this year ahead of nomination of candidates.

"CCM agrees with the results (which are coming out) and we expect that we are going to win this election although we have already lost 51 constituencies," said Mr Kinana.

The preferential polls were the source of misunderstandings, mistrust and division within the ruling party, Mr Kinana said noting that the party had no proper mechanism to deal with the situation.

He noted that the party was still suffering from the problems created during the primary polls as there were some members who had lost but have not disbanded their camps to date.

He said the ruling party went to the poll believing that it was going to win 87 percent of the parliamentary seats.

The ruling party has also taken a dent in Zanzibar where its victory is pegged at 56 per cent. It has lost all House of Representative seats in Pemba and four seats in Unguja. This is a blow to CCM as for years it has only been losing Mji Mkongwe in Unguja.

Mr Kinana said while opposition has managed to dislodge CCM in some of the constituencies, the ruling party has also managed to displace opposition in some of the constituencies.

Some of constituencies which opposition has defeated CCM include Ilemela and Nyamagana in Mwanza City, Ukerewe, Iringa Urban, Mbeya Urban, Ubungo, Kawe, Musoma Urban, Karagwem Kigoma South, Vunjo and Muhambwe while CCM had managed to retake Tarime from the opposition.

According to Mr Kinana, the CCM victory predictions were based on survey and opinion polls.

"The victory predictions I have told you are just CCM's and not NEC stand. We should wait for the final results announced by NEC," cautioned Mr Kinana.

However, Mr Kinana said the party's preliminary polls which were used to pick its candidates to run for various positions has contributed much to the party's poor performances in some areas.

Saudis shocked by fatwa banning women cashiers
[Arab News] Saudis have been left shocked after the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta issued a fatwa on Sunday banning women cashiers from working in the Kingdom's supermarkets.

"It is not permitted for a Mohammedan woman to work in a mixed environment with men who are not related to them, and women should look for jobs that do not lead to them interacting with men which might cause attraction from both sides," the fatwa stated.

The Kingdom's top government-sanctioned board of senior Islamic scholars has endorsed the fatwa, which also calls for a ban on women cashiers because it violates the Kingdom's rules on the segregation of sexes. The decision comes after a conservative preacher called for a boycott of supermarkets, which employ women cashiers.

Members of the public have reacted with dismay to the fatwa saying it does not make sense and is unfair to women who need to work.

"The people who issued this fatwa clearly did not see the location and condition of these cashiers," said Abdulrahman Fakhri, a 32-year-old businessman. "Those women need the money or they wouldn't be working like this," he added.

"I wonder whether they've issued this fatwa because they're afraid of women or scared of them," said Malak Al-Harby. "Religious people act as if Saudi women are weak and cannot resist flirting with men," she added.

Women will still mix with men whether it's behind the cashier or in front of it, said Haneen Kelani, a stay-at-home mother. "I always go grocery shopping in supermarkets that hire men as cashiers and I usually shop alone. Is that considered mixing? What's the harm in me and the male cashier switching places?" she asked.

These women cashiers are working in conditions that do not break Islamic rules, said Nayef Abdulaziz. "I once went to the supermarket to see these women work and found a glass divider separating them from men. I also found them covered and not socializing with costumers," he said.

"I tried to go to a female cashier instead of a male cashier but was stopped, which means the employers are in control of this and are not allowing men to mix with them," he added.

No one from Azizia Panda and Marhaba supermarkets which employ women cashiers was available for comment.

Venezuelan government claims that seizures ensure private property
[El Universal] In the opinion of Minister of Housing and Habitat Ricardo Molina, recent government seizures of several residential developments seek to ensure private property of individuals who had put their money in a real estate.

"We are advocating private property by strengthening families," Minister of Housing and Habitat Ricardo Molina told government-run TV channel VTV. He railed on the "bourgeoisie" for misleading the actions of the Executive Office.

The minister noted that several months elapsed before taking action. "We are dealing with affected families to turn them into true beneficiaries."

Molina reported that no homeless will be relocated in confiscated buildings and promised that the government will observe the right of real estate buyers, and also respect the amount initially agreed upon with developers.

"All these families must rest assured because the damages inflicted on them will be remedied," he added.

China-Japan-Koreas
Japan recalls ambassador to Russia
[Al Jazeera] Japan has temporarily recalled its ambassador to Moscow, Russia's capital, in a move that threatens to deepen a diplomatic row between the two countries over a chain of disputed Pacific islands.

Relations between the nations soured after Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's president, visited the Kuril Islands, which were seized by Soviet troops at the end of the Second World War, on Monday.

Seiji Maehara, Japan's foreign minister, said Tuesday's decision to call back its ambassador was not intended to be antagonistic, but added that Tokyo wished to "make our position clear".

The dispute over the islands has coloured relations between Tokyo and Moscow since the end of the war, preventing the signing of a formal peace treaty.

"We have a territorial problem and that needs to be solved," Maehara said.

"But our basic policy of concluding a peace treaty with Russia and strengthening economic relations once that problem is settled remains unchanged."

Tensions mount
Naoto Kan, Japan's prime minister, who is currently struggling with a divided parliament and fragile economy, has come under fire for what critics claim was his mishandling of a separate territorial dispute with China, and is under pressure to look firm on this occasion.

Despite its decision to recall its envoy, Japan said on Tuesday that it believed a scheduled meeting between Medvedev and Kan would still take place next week.

The meeting between the two nations' leaders is due to take place on the sidelines of the regional Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) summit in the Japanese city of Yokohama.

Sergei Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, said Moscow was not planning to recall its ambassador to Tokyo and said that Japan was over-reacting to Medvedev's visit.

He also said that Medvedev plans to visit other islands disputed with Japan and step up investments in the archipelago.

"The president said he will visit the other islands ... in this small group," Lavrov said.

"We have already made clear that protests and such strong reactions are unacceptable for us and we will continue to have such views."

The four islands at the heart of the diplomatic row are known as the Northern Territories in Japan and southern Kurils in Russia.

They stretch from northeast of Japan's main northern island of Hokkaido to Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula.

The islands are located in fish-rich waters, close to oil and gas reserves.

Toddler Falls 7 Stories, Bounces off Awning, Caught by Passerby
A 18-month boy appeared unhurt after falling seven stories and bouncing off an awning into a man's arms, witnesses told Le Parisien newspaper.

Witnesses said the child and a sibling had been left alone briefly Monday in their seventh-floor apartment.

Somehow, the toddler fell out a window, but a boy on the street saw what was happening and alerted his father, who caught the child after he bounced off the awning of a tobacco shop and cafe on the building's ground floor, the paper reported.

"My son saw a little boy on a balcony. He had gone right outside the railing... I said to myself I mustn't miss him," local doctor Philippe Bensignor, told AFP, recounting Monday's drama.

"I had time to move from side to side to get in the right position," he added.

"The little boy was fine. He cried a little bit but calmed down straightaway."

Anglo-French defense link-up "makes perfect sense"
(KUNA) -- UK Defence Secretary Liam Fox Tuesday described the decision to pool troops, aircraft carriers and nuclear testing facilities with France as making "perfect sense".
Not a lot of sense, but what sense it makes is perfect...
At today's Anglo-French summit in London, Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will sign far-reaching treaties which will commit their forces to operating together for decades to come.

Dr Fox said this would not stop the UK from acting on its own when the two sides disagreed over policy.

He told BBC Breakfast TV "There is nothing in this treaty that restricts either country from acting where we want to in our national interest.

"We're talking about joint expeditionary forces with our forces in all three services working together to develop common practices, better inter-operability and to look to see where we get better common equipment.

"That makes perfect sense in a world where resources are tight but our interests are increasingly common." The key components of the agreement includes Co-ordination of the aircraft carriers to ensure that there is always a British or French vessel available for joint operations; The creation of a Combined Joint Expeditionary Force training British and French troops to deploy on operations together; The development of a new nuclear testing facility at the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston and its French counterpart at Valduc.

Downing Street said defence co-operation with France was based on a "hard-headed and practical assessment" of the UK's national interest.

"This summit marks a deepening of the UK-France bilateral relationship.

Ours is now a strategic partnership tackling together the biggest challenges facing our two countries," a No 10 spokesman said.

The agreement will also see the two countries pooling resources in terms of training, maintenance and logistics for the new A400M transport aircraft which they are both acquiring, while French fighter jets could be re-fuelled in flight from British tanker aircraft.

In the longer term, the two countries will work together on a whole range of programmes including satellite communications, cyber security and the development of new missile systems, submarine technologies and unmanned aerial drones.

The move comes as both nations - long seen as the major European military powers - are looking to cut the cost of their armed forces.

Publishing the Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) two weeks ago, Cameron announced that the defence budget was to be slashed by 8 percent over the next four years as the Government tackles the deficit.

It was acknowledged in government circles that achieving better value for money is one of the key aims of the Anglo-French agreement on both sides of the Channel.

While the prospect of greater co-operation with the French was raised by the former Labour government in a defence Green Paper last year, the new agreement was said to reflect the personal engagement of the Prime Minister and Mr Sarkozy.

One of the key elements of the plan is for the two countries to co-ordinate the operation of their aircraft carriers.

Following the decision in the SDSR for Britain to go ahead with only one new operational carrier - with the second being built and then mothballed - both nations will be down to a single carrier, with the UK's not available for another decade.

With the ships spending around 30 percent of their time undergoing refits, the aim is to esure such maintenance work is co-ordinated so that at least one vessel is available for joint operations at any one time.

The agreement could in time see British aircraft flying from the French carrier and French aircraft from the British ship, with the creation of a joint Anglo-French air wing not being ruled out.

The co-operation on nuclear testing - which is the subject of a separate treaty - will see the two nations work together on a new hydrodynamic facility, which ensures warheads are safe and working properly, without the need for test-firings which are banned under international treaties.

The agreement will see British scientists based in Valduc and French scientists working in the UK, with the testing being carried out in France while the technology will be developed in the UK.

It will not however see the sharing of nuclear secrets or the merging of the British and French nuclear deterrents into a single force, officials said.

#4  I wonder what will prevail - the courage and stamina of the common British soldier (of second world war fame) or the not less famous French "decision not to decide".
What the Fu###ing Brits and Froggies need is to get together and pass a resolution to deport all their Arab/islamist citizens back to where they came form.
In 20 years no army will exist to save either the French or the Brits as already now every second baby born in France and Britain is a Moslem. (Mohamad is the most common child name in England right now).

What I say is "politically incorrect" but it is the truth. My deportation suggestion may sound faschistic, but consider what is best - to take a step which is not so multi-culturalist but vital for preserving the future of both countries as western countries or to stay P.C. knowing that your inaction guaranties a multi-culti country in which the dominant majority of citizens are "silent sheep islamic masses" which will inevitably be ruled and directed by the Mufties and Ayatolla's and subject all non-moslems to Dhimmitude in their own land.
Just my 2 cents

Religious affairs ministry accused of corruption
[Dawn] In a letter to Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Saudi Prince Bandar bin Khalid has alleged that the Pak government rejected the most economical Saudi offer pertaining to the accommodation of Pak hajis.

Taking a suo motu notice on the letter, the apex court has directed the ministry of religious affairs to file a reply in this regard within 15 days.

Prince Bandar, in his letter, complained that although his company had offered to provide residential facilities to Pak hajis on very economical rates, the Pak government decided on a less economical option.

According to the PPI news agency, the letter said that the ministry rented residences for pilgrims during Hajj for 3,400 to 3, 600 Saudi riyals while the prices were actually around 1,500 riyals, adding that the Prince had offered lower rates to the ministry but his quotation was rejected.

According to reports, the letter said the proposed accommodation facility had the capacity to host up to 35,000 hajis and was situated just two kilometres away from Haram.

The letter further stated that it appears that the religious affairs ministry is involved in some kind of embezzlement which should be investigated.

However,
The infamous However...

Washington demands Tehran stop adultery execution
[Al Arabiya] The United States early Wednesday urged Iran to halt the reportedly imminent execution of a mother-of-two for adultery, saying the case showed a fundamental disregard by the regime for human rights."
... which are not the same thing as individual rights, mind you...

"We condemn in the strongest terms the government of Iran's apparent plans to move forward in executing Ms. Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani," a White House statement said.

"We call on the government of Iran to stop this execution, and provide Ms. Ashtiani with the due process and fair treatment she deserves," it said.

In a separate statement, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that Iran's leaders "have failed once again to protect the fundamental rights of their own citizens, particularly women."
