Due process is a quaint Anglo-American concept that is indeed 'foreign' to other countries and to people who happen to get caught up in their legal systems. It can be years before he finds himself finally getting what is ritualistically a trial. However, it also being a 'foreign' legal system, applications of ~~bribes~~ inducement could speed up the process. Or delayed, as in the case of accused Russian gun runners with outstanding wants and warrants from other countries.

This criminal, having burned the locals, can look forward to a long stay in the legendary hospitality of Thai prisons. Perhaps his relatives will arrive to bribe him out of jail, perhaps not. Thais are quite racist towards Indians and Pakistanis in general.
