Pubic Enemy Number One
According to a startled Florida Highway Patrol trooper, Megan Barnes was shaving her bikini area while driving south on the famed Overseas Highway when she crashed into the rear of an SUV March 2.
You know you're not supposed to do that.
'If I Wasn't There, I Wouldn't Have Believed It'
I once saw a woman pleasuring herself while driving. It was in Birmingahm, Alabama. She didn't rear-end anyone though.
I saw what you did there...
In the police report obtained by ABC News, the trim job was apparently essential because the arresting officer, trooper Gary Dunick, said the Indiana native told him she was heading to Key West to visit her boyfriend.
Lucky guy.
"She said she was meeting her boyfriend in Key West and wanted to be ready for the visit," Dunick told the Key West Citizen.

It gets weirder.
How could it get weirder?
In order to pay full attention to her sensitive regions, police say Barnes enlisted her ex-husband, Charles Judy, who was riding shotgun, to hold the wheel.

Yes, her ex-husband.
OK, that's weirder.
Their tag-team driving went awry when an SUV driving in front of them slowed to turn. Barnes' 1995 Thunderbird smashed into it. Two of the SUV's passengers suffered minor injuries, police say. Barnes shouldn't have been driving that Thunderbird, since she had been convicted the previous day for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. According to the arrest report, it was the sixth time her license had been suspended.
Some people never learn.
So she was shaving while intoxicated?
After the accident, Barnes and Judy drove off, police say. The Thunderbird limped a few hundred yards before the couple switched seats. "She jumps in the back seat and he moves over," Dunick told the Citizen. "It was like the old comedy bit, 'Who's on first?'"
Isn't Hu in the UN now?
But the attempt to claim that Judy, not Barnes, was driving was also doomed. Judy had visible burns on his chest he claimed came from the exploding airbag, but only the passenger side airbag deployed, according to the police report.
DOH!!
Was the T-Bird a convertible? Maybe it was just sunburn...
So Dunick charged Barnes with driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and driving with no insurance. Judy was not charged. According to the arrest affidavit, the trooper asked her afterward why she didn't hit the brakes when she saw the SUV. She answered bluntly, "I told you, I was shaving."

"If I wasn't there, I wouldn't have believed it," Dunick told the Citizen.

Egypt acquits 26 men in trial over police raid on gays
[SEATTLEPI] An Egyptian court on Monday acquitted 26 men placed in durance vile
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
in a televised raid last month by police looking for gays at a Cairo public bathhouse, a ruling that set off deafening cheers and jubilation inside the courtroom as some of the defendants uncovered their faces and wept openly in relief.

Others, however, kept their faces hidden behind jacket hoods and scarves, still traumatized by the humiliation they and their families had endured during the highly publicized case, which caught the public's attention after a pro-government TV network aired scenes of half-naked men being pulled from the bathhouse by police during the Dec. 7 raid.

Monday's ruling was a climax in Egypt's ongoing crackdown on the gay community, and also recently on atheists a crackdown that goes hand in hand with a wider campaign against all forms of dissent and diversity in a country gripped by rising nationalism and a murderous Moslem insurgency.

Same-sex relations are not explicitly prohibited under Egyptian law but homosexuality is a social taboo in the conservative, Moslem-majority country and same-sex marriage is unheard of. Only in recent years have movies and fiction included gay characters.

Arabia
Saudi cleric condemns snowmen as anti-Islamic
[NEWS.YAHOO] A prominent Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
n holy man has whipped up controversy by issuing a religious ruling forbidding the building of snowmen, described them as anti-Islamic.

Asked on a religious website if it was permissible for fathers to build snowmen for their children after a snowstorm in the country's north, Sheikh Mohammed Saleh al-Munajjid replied: "It is not permitted to make a statue out of snow, even by way of play and fun."

Quoting from Moslem scholars, Sheikh Munajjid argued that to build a snowman was to create an image of a human being, an action considered sinful under the kingdom's strict interpretation of Sunni Islam.

"God has given people space to make whatever they want which does not have a soul, including trees, ships, fruits, buildings and so on," he wrote in his ruling.

That provoked swift responses from Twitter users writing in Arabic and identifying themselves with Arab names.

"They are afraid for their faith of everything ... sick minds," one Twitter user wrote.

Another posted a photo of a man in formal Arab garb holding the arm of a "snow bride" wearing a bra and lipstick. "The reason for the ban is fear of sedition," he wrote.

A third said the country was plagued by two types of people:

"A people looking for a fatwa (religious ruling) for everything in their lives, and a holy man who wants to interfere in everything in the lives of others through a fatwa," the user wrote.

Sheikh Munajjid had some supporters, however. "It (building snowmen) is imitating the infidels, it promotes lustiness and eroticism," one wrote.

"May God preserve the scholars, for they enjoy sharp vision and recognize matters that even Satan does not think about."

Snow has covered upland areas of Tabuk province near Saudi Arabia's border with Jordan for the third consecutive year as cold weather swept across the Middle East.

Bangladesh
Dudu on 5-day remand
[Dhaka Tribune] A Dhaka court yesterday placed BNP Chairperson the loathesome Khaleda Zia
Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ...
s Adviser Md Shamsuzzaman Dudu and two others on a five-day remand in a case filed under the Special Power Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Aminul Islam passed the order after Md Moniruzzaman, sub-inspector of Mirpur Model cop shoppe and also the investigation officer of the case, produced Dudu and two others before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

The two others who were remanded are Md Rafiqul Islam Liton, Jubo Dal secretary of Mirpurs ward number 14, and Shibir activist Md Dider.

In the remand prayer, the officer said Dudu was a criminal mastermind of different vandalism and heinous activities across the country and needed to be taken under remand for interrogation.

The court also rejected a bail petition placed by Dudus counsel Md Masud Ahamed Talukder.

The case statement claimed that miscreants, led by Shamsuzzaman Dudu and carrying out a BNP-Jamaat plan, torched a bus of Jabale Nur Paribahan in West Shewrapara of Mirpur.

They were also meeting at Rabbani Hotel in Jutpalli of Mirpur 10 to plan further subversive activities, the statement added. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the hotel and detained the three men.

In this connection, Mirpur SI Masud Pervez, on Sunday lodged a case against 40 named BNP-Jamaat activists including Khaleda Zias Adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu and other unidentified people under the Special Power Act.

Do not try our patience, Hasina tells Khaleda
[Dhaka Tribune] Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
yesterday warned the BNP that her government would get tough if needed to ensure security for the countrys people.

While speaking at a rally in the capitals Suhrawardy Udyan organised to mark the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu, she also called upon people to come forward and resist any attempt to create sabotage and violence in the name of movement.

She [BNP chief the loathesome Khaleda Zia
Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ...
] has made a big mistake by not participating in the January 5 elections [last year]. And now she is inciting anarchy from the refuge of her Gulshan office.

I want to tell the BNP chief clearly...It was your mistake and your party will have to suffer. The people of the country will not suffer [for your mistake]. Why are you damaging the properties and livelihood of the countrymen through militancy and terrorism? the PM said.

Do not try our patience, Hasina said.

I am strictly telling the BNP leader that nobody would be spared if they try to attack people again. They will be dealt with iron hands...The government will do whatever is necessary to protect the people.

Hasina, also the president of ruling Awami League, said Khaleda Zias habit of staying outside is nothing new; she has stayed out during various crisis moments of the country including the Liberation War in 1971.

Claiming that her political arch rival has not been kept confined to her Gulshan office and is free to go home with police escort, the PM said: She is staying in her office willingly to stage a drama.

Hasina also called upon people to stay vigilant so that they can catch anyone planning subversive activities in their areas and hand them over to law enforcers.

She also came down hard on Khaledas elder son Tarique Rahman
...the elder son of former President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, and Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He is the Senior Vice Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). His nickname is Pino. There are allegations that Pino took a rakeoff from every foreign investment into the country while Mom was in office...
, who recently said in London that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a collaborator.

Her son is a kulangar [black sheep]. It is simple mathematics; like mother, like son, Hasina said.

Most senior Awami League leaders attended and spoke at the rally that started around 2:30pm yesterday with recitations from Quran, Geeta, Tripitaka and Bible.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police lifted its indefinite ban on rallies and processions in the capital yesterday to allow the programme.

11 dead in bus attack in eastern Ukraine
An attack on a passenger bus in eastern Ukraine Tuesday killed 11 people, likely dealing the final blow to hopes that a short-lived and shaky cease-fire could take hold.

Across Donetsk, the city that Russian-backed separatists call their capital, explosions and the sound of shells whistling overhead are again unnerving the local population. The holiday period was spent in relative tranquility after a new truce was called in December between government troops and Russian-backed militia. But by late last week, that uneasy calm was steadily unraveling.

In the single largest loss of life so far this year, civilians traveling on a commuter bus from Donetsk were killed Tuesday afternoon by what Ukrainians say were rockets fired from a Grad launcher in rebel territory. Regional authorities loyal to Kiev said the bus was passing a Ukrainian army checkpoint at the time, putting it in the line of fire.

Leading rebel representative Denis Pushilin denied responsibility for the attack.

The warring sides are now trading accusations over who is responsible for the breakdown in the truce that led to Tuesday's deaths.

Military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said that separatist attacks in recent days suggest an attempted onslaught to push back the frontline is under way. Separatist leader Alexander Zakharchenko says Ukraine's armed forces unilaterally resumed hostilities and that his fighters would respond in kind.

Interpol puts Ukraine ex-leader on wanted list
[TELEGRAPH.CO.UK] Interpol has issued an arrest warrant for Viktor Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian president who was ousted in a revolution last February.

Mr Yanukovych, 64, is wanted on charges of embezzlement and financial wrongdoing, according to a notice posted on the organization's website on Monday.

Ukraine says the so-called red notice allows any police force in the world to apprehend Mr Yanukovych, who has been living in Russia since his overthrow nearly a year ago.

Ukrainian authorities accuse Mr Yanukovych of presiding over a culture of systematic corruption that enriched a small circle of relatives and close associates during his four years in power.
