Ticketmaster to pay $10M fine for accessing competitors' computers
[Washington Examiner] A judge has ordered Ticketmaster to pay a $10 million fine in order to avoid prosecution after it was accused of hacking into a rival's computers.

Prosecutors alleged that, from August 2013 to December 2015, the California-based ticket sales and distribution company used stolen passwords to hack into the computer system used by Songkick, a startup that specializes in artist presales. The operation targeted two unknown "signature clients" in favor of the newer competitor. Stephen Mead, a disgruntled former Songkick employee who was subsequently hired as a director of client relations and artist services at Ticketmaster in 2013, provided his new employer with the protected information, allowing his colleagues illicit access to unpublished webpages on Songkick's website.

"Awesome — thanks!" emailed Zeeshan Zaidi, a U.S.-Canadian citizen who previously led Ticketmaster's Artist Services division, upon receipt of stolen spreadsheets.

Brooklyn prosecutors say the five charges, which include counts of wire fraud, conspiracy, and computer intrusion, amount to serious criminal offenses.

"Ticketmaster employees repeatedly — and illegally — accessed a competitor’s computers without authorization using stolen passwords to unlawfully collect business intelligence," said Acting Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Seth DuCharme.

Ticketmaster condemned the guilty parties, announcing it terminated the two employees in October 2017.

"Ticketmaster terminated both Zaidi and Mead in 2017, after their conduct came to light," the company said in a statement provided to the Washington Examiner. "Their actions violated our corporate policies and were inconsistent with our values. We are pleased that this matter is now resolved."

The agreement mandates that both sides appear in court in June 2024 to ensure that Ticketmaster has complied with the parameters of the deal.

Pharmacist arrested on charges of sabotaging Moderna COVID vaccine doses
[JPost] - A Wisconsin hospital pharmacist was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of sabotaging more than 500 doses of coronavirus vaccine by deliberately removing them from refrigeration to spoil, police and medical authorities said.

The pharmacist, an employee of Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin, at the time that 57 vials of vaccine were found left out of cold storage earlier this week, has since been fired but has not been publicly identified, officials said.

Each vial contains 10 doses. Nearly 60 of the doses in question were administered before hospital officials determined the medication had been left unrefrigerated long enough to render the vaccine ineffective. The remaining 500-plus doses were then discarded.

Moderna Inc, maker of the vaccine, has assured the hospital that receiving an injection of any of the doses removed from refrigeration poses no safety issue, other than leaving the recipient unprotected from COVID infection, said Dr. Jeff Bahr, Aurora Health Care Medical Group president.

Neither Aurora Health nor law enforcement offered any possible motive for the sabotage.

Appeals court vacates order delaying woman's execution
Start the drip
[10 News] A federal appeals court has cleared the way for the only woman on federal death row to be executed before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.

The ruling, handed down Friday by a three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, concludes that a lower court judge erred when he vacated Lisa Montgomery's execution date in an order last week.

The judge had ruled the Justice Department unlawfully rescheduled Montgomery's execution and he vacated an order from the director of the Bureau of Prisons scheduling her death for Jan. 12.

But the appeals panel Friday disagreed.

According to The Associated Press, Montgomery was convicted of murdering Bobbie Jo Stinnett, 23, in December 2004 in Skidmore, Missouri, and was sentenced to death in 2008.

The AP reported that Montgomery's attorney, Meaghan VerGow, would have the full appeals court review the case and said her client should not be executed on Jan. 12.

Convicted back in 2008 and it "may" only end up taking 16.5 years to carry out the sentence.

In case any bleeding heart / ANTI-Death Penalty types don't read past the headline.

Here is some addition case info.
Lisa Marie Montgomery, at age 36, was convicted of strangling Stinnett from behind. Then gutting Stinnett to remove her 8 month old UNBORN child from her womb. The newborn was later recovered live by authorities and returned to the father.

Dog gone: Greyhound racing comes to an end in Florida
[Sun Sentinel] Ewart Johnson, an 80-year-old West Palm Beach resident, was a bit melancholy Thursday afternoon as he scrutinized his racing form at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.

It was the last day greyhound racing was legal in Florida, something that should represent a financial upturn for Johnson.

"I lose my money every day," he said with a smile.

Still, Johnson, who has been going to the Palm Beach Kennel Club since 1987, couldn’t shake his sense of loss.

Although the mood was generally festive at the Kennel Club with live music, giveaways and plenty of racing, Johnson considered Thursday a sad day.

And so did the 3,000 or so people who went to the venue on New Year’s Eve. Regulars said it was the largest crowd in years. It figures it came on the final day the greyhounds were running.

Distilleries Who Aided in the Pandemic - The Feds Are Hitting Them With Surprising Surcharges from the FDA
[Red State] After being called into action small businesses are becoming punished by the government.
Since overturned by HHS
One of the under-reported stories from the year was how President Trump made numerous moves to take down the governmental blockages to businesses for the sake of getting help in dealing with the pandemic. When ventilators were said to be at a crisis-inducing low the President removed some of the federal restrictions that prevented different companies from partnering on the production of the needed equipment. He also made a similar move in regards to the nation’s brewers and distillers.

When the pandemic was initially breaking out across the country two realities were in play for these businesses. There was a steep drop in their commerce, and the country was in need of cleansing products in the name of safety. The producers of alcohol-based products were in a unique position to fill a void quickly, and the administration saw fit to remove the thresholds and blockages preventing them from otherwise producing hand sanitizer.

Distilleries were not licensed and permitted to make a product regarded as a healthcare item, but the executive orders cleared the way for these companies to begin using their alcohol production for sanitizing products. Now those same small businesses which rose to the occasion are being punished. The FDA this week has come out with the announcement — those alcohol producers who helped get sanitizer to healthcare workers and nursing homes are being hit with a sizable bill — a charge of $14,060.

-Land of the Free
‘Over a Million People’ Will Rally in Washington to Pressure Congress: ‘Stop the Steal’ Organizer
[EpochTimes] Ali Alexander,
...conservative American Black political consultant who went after Kamala Harris in the 2020 primary for being the Jamaican-Indian descendant of slave owners identifying as one of his people...
a national organizer of the "Stop the Steal" movement, spoke to NTD’s "Focus Talk" about the upcoming rally in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6, where he says over a million people will show up to protest alleged election fraud.

"We’re going to have over a million people in Washington, D.C., because we have the president even tweeting about the event," said Alexander. "What we’re working on right now is lobbying members in the House and members in the Senate."

Alexander said that at least three senators will stand with President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
and that he has talked to more than 30 House members that will also object to the certification of the Electoral College votes on Jan. 6, which will trigger a debate over the voter fraud allegations.

He continued to say that their internal metrics show eight times more interest for this event compared to two previous "Stop the Steal" marches and a prayer rally held in Washington on Dec. 12, where hundreds of thousands of people participated.

"With the president tweeting it, it has been a call to action. And we’ve been organizing caravans, we have over 100 charter buses coming into Washington, D.C. And I know of over 30,000 cars coming from Washington State, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
,, Florida, Maine, all of the edges and the corners of America will descend on the people’s capital. So my own personal estimate is at least a million, [1.5 million] people. But I think we might have even more," said Alexander.

Alexander emphasized that the constitutional process is of utmost importance and that they want to urge Congress to stand for voter integrity.

"It’s a time of the people, the people want their Congress to do the right thing," said Alexander. "We don’t care about bureaucratic deadlines or silly judges, what we care about is that the right thing is done, and we all know that there’s voter fraud in this country, all of us."

Alexander says that he has had more credible death threats in the last eight weeks than in his 12 years as a public figure.

"We’ve had to spend a lot of money protecting me. And that’s unfortunate because we don’t have any big donors at Stopthesteal.us," he said. "And there’s been pressure from my own party: ’If you do this, you’ll never work again Ali’ or ’If you do this, we’ll blacklist you.’ If we cannot vote, nothing else matters."

"Many of us have been fighting socialism and communism like it was a cliché line, or that it was about taxes or healthcare. No, this is a moral fight. And I have immigrants colonists from China, immigrants colonists from Eastern Europe, immigrants colonists from South America, who will grab my orange sweater and cry and say ’I’ve seen this before.’ It’s a phrase that haunts me because I’ve understood it intellectually, now I understand it emotionally. Because they have seen this before and this is how this happened."

#7  a million people with cash to burn

A million people with two tall middle fingers and a burning need to show the anti-Trump Establishment/Elites in both parties that they aren't a figment of an overactive Trumpster imagination. And anyway, most people who can work from home can almost as easily work from a bus or a hotel room temporarily, so they needn’t be overly comfortable retirees. A recently retired girlfriend of mine took both her 25-year old working daughters with her to the pussy hat march back in 2017, and even bought them all matching uterus hats — she made it a girls weekend, leaving her husband and son at home. The Trump march at least won’t be segregated.

Some of us need to display such feelings, while those with a different temperament prefer seething in private. Those of you who do go, please be careful. I need to find the link posted here yesterday with advice from a local for participants.

Britain
NHS Requires ‘Diversity Training’ For Recently Retired Doctors Before They're Allowed To Administer Vaccines
Britain’s National Health Service has been a total nightmare for the better part of two generations. Not that most Brits seem able to see it, even a friend of mine who is the wife of a doctor who practiced over there before coming to Cincinnati to become a professor at the medical school, and so has seen how medicine is practiced on both sides of the ocean.
[ZH] Recently retired doctors are being prevented from helping administer COVID-19 vaccines because the NHS requires them to have "diversity training" and knowledge of "radicalisation."

Yes, really.

40,000 doctors and nurses applied to return to the NHS back in March at the start of the pandemic but only 5,000 had been given jobs by July, according to a report in the Telegraph.

Similar bureaucracy is also hampering the vaccine rollout, with doctors having to fulfil the requirements of the Equality Act.

Dear NHS
The Red Tape faced by retired docs who want to help the vaccination roll out. 20 pieces of evidence most of us simply don't have. REALLY???
If this is a war, use your Dads Army and cut us some slack.
I can remember how to do an IM injection. Rant over 🥺 pic.twitter.com/2CfhQ2nJr2
‐ ✨ melanie jones 🕷✨ (@medicsupport) December 30, 2020

This means that when they wade into the minefield that is the application process for helping to administer the vaccine, they have to provide 20 pieces of evidence, including documents on Equality, Diversity and Human Rights, Fire Safety, Conflict Resolution, and Preventing Radicalisation.

"Reached this page on my application and have given up for now. Can't see many retired clinicians wading through this lot – or having all required docs," said Professor Maureen Baker.

Reached this page on my application and have given up for now. Can't see many retired clinicians wading through this lot - or having all required docs. Process *must* be urgently streamlined @NHSEnglandNMD Couldn't design anything more bureaucratic in a month of Sundays! https://t.co/IJuVjb7qNC
‐ Prof Maureen Baker CBE (@Maureenprsb) December 30, 2020

"Yes I'm going through this today….now on my 7th hour of CPD! Not even at ‘pre-employment screening' yet. Suspect many will have given up by now," commented Professor Nicola Thomas.

Yes I'm going through this today....now on my 7th hour of CPD! Not even at ‘pre-employment screening' yet. Suspect many will have given up by now 😱 https://t.co/wckLrGEvbB
‐ Prof Nicola Thomas 💙 (@nicolamthomas) December 30, 2020

The NHS responded by saying it was necessary "in order to recruit a wide array of individuals from a variety of backgrounds."

Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate the time taken to join the National Vac Programme. We have a stringent recruitment process in place in order to recruit a wide array of individuals from a variety of backgrounds – many of whom are not registered healthcare professionals 1/2
‐ NHS Professionals (@NHSPbank) December 31, 2020

In other words, meeting diversity quotas is more important than getting as many doctors as possible to help speed up the vaccine rollout.

Ludicrous.

#1  I think it means that care givers should be prepared to take blows, pushed about, sexually assaulted and/or beaten severely when they try to treat the diverse.

We have seen the phenomenon in India, when doctors and nurses had to go with police protection into the muslim ghettos because they have all sorts of 'halal' questions and the like, and if they're not satisfied with your answers they'll attack you.

In the end, only muslim volunteers could be sent into the areas because they could talk their islam nonsense and convince them to take the f#cking thing.

China-Japan-Koreas
China senior diplomat says U.S. relations at 'new crossroads'
SHANGHAI (Reuters) -China’s relationship with the United States has reached a "new crossroads" and could get back on the right track following a period of "unprecedented difficulty", senior diplomat Wang Yi said in official comments published on Saturday.

Relations between the world’s two biggest economies have come under increasing strain amid a series of disputes over trade, human rights and the origins of COVID-19. In its latest move, the United States blacklisted dozens of Chinese companies it said had ties to the military.

Wang, China’s state councillor and foreign minister, said in a joint interview with Xinhua news agency and other state media outlets that recent U.S. policies towards China had harmed the interests of both countries and brought huge dangers to the world.

But there was now an opportunity for the two sides to "open a new window of hope" and begin a new round of dialogue, he said.

The election of Joe Biden as U.S. President has been widely expected to improve relations between Washington and Beijing after four years of escalating tensions under the administration of Donald Trump.

Looks like *140* Republicans will OBJECT to ELECTORAL college vote, Fake Tapper has HISSY
[Right Scoop] It’s not just Josh Hawley, not that we thought it would be, but now CNN is, with full DRAMATIC dismay and end-of-the-world-ism is reporting that up to 140 Republicans and maybe even more will OBJECT to accepting the electoral college result naming Joe Biden the winner and Donald Trump the loser in the 2020 General Election.

Jake Tapper basically cried like a newborn infant about it his whole show, making YUGE pronouncements about the end of Democracy and blah blah. It’s a republic, by the wake, Fake Jake. Can’t you ever get ANYTHING right?

I don’t recommend, for the sake of your health and sanity, watching both of these Tapper clips all the way through. But just skim them for a good laugh.

#1  Convenient theater for the disenfranchised forgotten man. Congress should have joined the Orange Man in bringing pressure on the DoJ to appoint a special investigator. Additional pressure could have been placed on FBI Director Christopher A. Wray to investigate. It didn't happen, it will never happen.

When the video of Atlanta Democrat poll workers ballot box story was pushed to the back page, I knew it was likely over.

#4  Political theater. Best you can hope for is that it'll give the GOP the starting point to obstruct as much of the Sniffy/Kneepad's ukases as possible. Which won't be much, because the Georgia race is looking thoroughly stolen.

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani handed three-match ban by FA over social media post
[CNN] Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani has been handed a three-match ban and fined £100,000 ($136,594) by the English Football Association in relation to a social media post.
The Uruguayan thanked a follower on his Instagram story last month using the phrase "gracias negrito," which translates to "thank you, little Black one."
The phrase is seen as an affectionate term of endearment in South America
but considered offensive in other parts of the world, because its meaning can be misconstrued.

Cavani later issued an apology for the language used saying "the last thing I wanted to do was cause offence to anyone. I am completely opposed to racism and deleted the message as soon as it was explained that it can be interpreted differently."

In a statement on Thursday the FA said the post was "insulting, abusive, improper and brought the game into disrepute" and constituted an "aggravated breach [...] as it included reference, whether express or implied, to colour and/or race and/or ethnic origin."
Cavani must also complete "face-to-face education."
In a statement responding to the three-match ban, Manchester United said: "Despite his honest belief that he was simply sending an affectionate thank you in response to a congratulatory message from a close friend, he chose not to contest the charge out of respect for, and solidarity with, the FA and the fight against racism in football.

"The club trusts that the independent regulatory commission will make it clear in its written reasons that Edinson Cavani is not a racist, nor was there any racist intent in relation to his post."

The ban comes into immediate effect meaning he will miss United's English Premier League game against Aston Villa on Friday, the English League Cup semifinal against Manchester City on January 6 and the FA Cup third round tie against Watford on January 9.

Cavani has scored four goals since joining United in October.

Before moving to England, the 33-year-old Cavani won six league titles with Paris Saint-Germain and, with 200 goals, is the French club's all-time leading scorer.

Very refreshing.

Chicago Teachers Union Leader Demands Schools Stay Closed While Vacationing From Puerto Rico
[Bongino] If we know one thing for sure about teachers’ unions, it’s that they don’t care much for students.

While the parents of those unable to attend school are in dire straights, the Chicago Teachers Union continues to demand money for nothing... and vacations.

According to Fox News:

Teachers Union not so much, purely selfish. I believe they see the "handwriting printing on the wall" 2020 Zoom School needs come tweaking but no one needs this many teachers on the payroll, they are becoming redundant and they know it.

#12  Second City Cop has more on this Commie Bint:

Chambers was part of that group of commie CTU members who went to commie Venezuela, praising that commie shithole and their school policies, ignoring the fact that something like 20% of the population had fled the starvation conditions.

She is also the rarest of the rare - a CTU teacher who actually got fired:

In 2017, the school district fired her for, as reported by WTTW,

“leaving her own classroom to barge into classrooms of other teachers and issue her own instructions to students, interfering with statewide tests, and participating in a scheme to remove and transport students without any chaperone who had cleared criminal background checks, without alerting school officials which students would be missing from class and which students were unaccounted for….”
However, she claimed she was fired in retaliation for other matters and the CTU got her reinstated

Truly a Karen of the highest order, a dyed-in-the-wool commie, and someone who should be at the very top of a list of people Groot should be firing on 05 January 2021 for subverting the opening of schools.
